‘Glee’ Star Darren Criss ‘Dreams’ Of Meeting Daniel Radcliffe

Criss will take over for the ‘Harry Potter’ star in Broadway’s ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.’ By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Kara Warner Darren Criss Photo: Joe Scarnici/ Getty Images “Glee” castmember Darren Criss is taking his show-choir skills to Broadway, replacing Daniel Radcliffe in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” The actor will have a three-week gig starting January 3 when the “Harry Potter” star departs the production, the Al Hirschfeld Theatre confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. Rumors have been swirling for weeks now that the spot would go to Criss, who has never before appeared on Broadway. But as recently as last week, the job was still up in the air. “Right now, honestly, I’m just trying to get my head screwed back on,” he told MTV News at San Diego Comic-Con. “I’ve been traveling around a lot, and who knows what the future holds? But if that’s something, who knows, that’d be great.” Criss first made a name for himself with “A Very Potter Musical,” which he created with his production company, Team StarKid. In it, Criss plays Harry Potter, and even though he made an appearance at the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1” NYC premiere last year, he has never met the man behind the Boy Who Lived. “The fake Harry Potter has not met the real Harry Potter,” Criss revealed at Comic-Con. “Only in my dreams, and that’s probably as close as I’ll ever get.” Those dreams might come true now that Criss will need to begin preparing for his stint in “How to Succeed.” There will likely be some sort of torch-passing moment from Radcliffe to Criss, and maybe even a resurgence in fans’ hope to see the two Harry Potters perform together at some point. “If they saw Dan and I do a number, I think ears would bleed,” Criss said at the “Deathly Hallows, Part 1” premiere.

Rebecca Black Wants to Be Taken Seriously

Rebecca Black is well aware that she’s more of a punch line than a respected artist. But that’s why the 13-year old has followed up her much-maligned debut single, “Friday,” with ” My Moment ,” a more mature track that tackles the topic of bullying and online hatred. “I wanted people to able to take me seriously because I felt like this would be the right thing to do,” Black told MTV of the song selection. “I wanted to start building what could be a really great career, but this industry, it’s so unpredictable: You could be the big thing for a month or four months, and then kind of fall off the face of the planet. And I felt my whole team kind of felt like it was a great way to put me here for an amount of time.” “My Moment” is the lead single from Black’s upcoming album. It will be released next month and feature only five tracks. [Photo: WENN.com]

Nicky Hilton and David Katzenberg: It’s Over!

It’s all over for Nicky Hilton and David Katzenberg. Due to conflicting, hectic schedules, the couple has split after four years of dating, insiders confirm to The New York Post . “The main reason was that they have been busy with their work, and it has made it difficult to spend time together,” a source tells the newspaper . “Nicky has been back and forth traveling overseas a lot with her business. She has recently been in Asia promoting her jewelry line, and David is starting a new production company.” Katzenberg created MTV’s The Hard Times of RJ Berger , while Nicky actually does seem involved in the family business. She’ll be leaning on one of those family members in the face of this break up. “Paris and I are going to go to the South of France next week for some business and pleasure,” Nicky told Us Weekly on Wednesday. White Girl Mob: Hip-Hop’s Favorite White Girls

Although Bay Area rappers Kreayshawn, V-Nasty and the rest of their White Girl Mob are trying everything in their power to destroy the love affair between Hip-Hop and white girls by making awesomely bad rap music and tossing around the N-word, it’ll take a little more than a group of foul-mouthed, non-rapping white women to end our relationship with snow bunnies. Since white girls are catching a bad rap right now (no pun intended), we decided to salute our favorite Becky’s in the business. Click here to continue reading at HipHopWired.com

Kelly Rowland Goes Topless For VIBE Magazine & Enjoys Sex Shops

Visit link:

Kelly Rowland covers Vibe Magazine’s August/September 2011 issue topless. The summer has just started to heat up and Kelly is not going to help us cool off. The “Motivation” singer talks ending her business relationship with Mathew Knowles, sex shops and more. Check out the excerpt below. The full interview will be available to read when the issue hit stands August 16. → ON BEING MORE APPRECIATED IN EUROPE VS. HOME VIBE: The last album didn’t do well in the States. It did better overseas, particularly in Europe. Do you feel more appreciated in Europe? Kelly Rowland: No, not really. People still compare me to B over there. I said in an interview recently, ‘You know, if you guys would be a little bit more intelligent and ask me about myself we’ll have a much better interview.’ You can’t want a story from me and keep asking me about the past. → ON HER COMPLICATED RELATIONSHIP WITH MATTHEW KNOWLES When you walked away from that last meeting with Mathew, did you feel an “exhale” moment? I did, but I also felt like, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?!’ I stayed in the house for two days. I was sad. It was like a funeral. I had to deaden that situation in order to start fresh. That’s a very long time to have the same manager and the same label. What about your personal relationship with Mathew Knowles. Do you still talk to him? Mathew sent me flowers for my birthday! But do you talk to him? It’s… I respect him above anything. → ON HER SEDUCTIVE SIDE & VISITING SEX SHOPS Speaking of this road we’re going on… Let’s talk about the song “Motivation.” I have to admit, the song went completely over my head. I thought you were talking about working out. [Laughs] No, honey. When you heard the song, did you think, This may be too racy for my image? Not at all. Every woman knows what that feels like—hopefully. But everyone doesn’t expect Kelly to sing about it. This is true. But I just loved the song so much. And yes, I can relate to it. I came into my sexuality while I was recording this album. I can walk into a sex shop now and not worry about what people would say if they saw me in there. You really do that? Go to sex shops? Yeah! With friends on the low. I go at the right time. Nighttime. 1 a.m. The really good ones are open that late. Recent Post: Listen To Kelly Rowland’s ‘Here I Am’ Album Now

New Balance Taps Keri Hilson’s DJ For New Series “Where Are You Running To?” [Video]

New Balance recently launched a new series examining the busy lives of some “behind the scenes” folks in Hip-Hop. This particular installment features Keri Hilson and Ne-Yo’s tour DJ, DJ Mars, who boasts a few other notches on his belt too. As the president and founding member of the World Famous Superfriends crew, DJ Mars single handedly changed the DJ scene in Atlanta. Currently touring with famed recording artist Keri Hilson, Mars’ career has taken him in numerous directions. Starting as Outkast’s original DJ, and touring with everyone from Ne-yo, Ciara, Usher, Monica and Kelis, DJ Mars is no stranger to rocking crowds. To date, Mars has personally spun at every club and major Platinum Party in Atlanta ranging from artists like Jay-Z and Diddy to Jermaine Dupri and Beyonce. Simultaneously, DJ Mars (aka Marshall Thomas) kept his business acumen intact by growing the World Famous Superfriends organization into a multi-million dollar business with DJs spinning from Florida to Japan and encompassing radio, tours and mixed-CDs in their packaging. In November 2010, DJ Mars was featured as a cast member on BET’s new reality series, “Master of the Mix”, a competition among seven of the countries most renown DJs.
