On a previous episode of VH1’s “Basketball Wives”, Evelyn Lodaza and fiancé, Chad Ochocinco were having a romantic candlelight dinner on the beach, when the subject of sketchy pasts came up. Evelyn was concerned (rightfully so) that Chad would read the blogs and internet nastiness about her history of lovers then possibly change his perception of her. He so lovingly replied that what she did when she was single was her right and that he had no judgment about whoever she slept with prior to their relationship. I thought that Chad was completely on point. He seemed to have great understand about life, letting go and living in the present. Although I get the greatness of acceptance, I certainly do also get that people in general are not so kind, forgiving, or compassionate. So I asked a few of my male friends what that was all about and this is what I learned… Men do not judge the past sexual history of women nearly as harshly as other women do. It seems that women are more concerned with who and/or how many sexual partners other women have had than men are. While a man doesn’t necessarily want his wife to have slept with the entire football team, he is more willing to overlook her sexual prowess prior to him as long as it didn’t involve his best bud or a family member. A man gets with the woman who makes him feel good overall. If it is his time, if he has somehow opened the mental possibility of settling down then he wants to be with the woman who makes him feel good in every area of his life. Her having a “past” doesn’t factor into his feeling electrified, treasured and alive. If she has connected with him in a way that makes him feel totally free and at ease, then any of her added slut skills are only a plus. Women who were once a little slutty have a greater sense of self and how to handle a man. Men find that some women who have carried themselves more loosely in younger years have a greater sense of self-confidence, self-worth and are not so wrapped up in neediness from her man. He likes the idea that she can stand alone and is not defined by a companion. Men also believe that her previous slutty ways have better taught her how to interact with men, making her not so controlling and domineering. My mother always taught me to “keep a penny between my knees”, meaning not to give up the goodies if I ever wanted to get married. While I think there was a great deal of merit to what she taught me, I also think that much has changed over the years. If there is one thing that I have learned about watching these men wife-up “sluts”, it’s; who am I to judge? What women or men do in single life is really their business and other people waste too much time (that could be spent creating, enjoying and living your own lives) sitting in judgment of others. Everyone is entitled to experience their own life as they see fit and there is nothing more important than the present moment. So, to all of the sluts who have or are getting married…cheers to you! 5 WRONG Ways To Get Over Your Ex Why We Like Guys Who Don’t Like Us www.AngelTyree.com www.facebook.com/AngelTyreeJourney

Guillermo del Toro tells MTV News he’d rather direct the retelling than just produce. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Guillermo del Toro Photo: MTV News The pairing of Guillermo del Toro and Emma Watson on a “Beauty and the Beast” remake seems almost too good to be true, but the director confirmed to MTV News that the project is indeed in the works. “It’s one of those landmarks, one of those holy grails, and I really hope to do it,” del Toro said. “We’re just starting the process.” Originally, it was reported that del Toro would be producing the flick alongside “Crazy, Stupid, Love” producer Denise Di Novi, but he shared with MTV News that he would rather direct the movie. He said he’s starting to write the story line for it now while putting his alien movie “Pacific Rim” through production. Instead of a modernized take like this year’s “Beastly,” consider del Toro’s movie to be a classic retelling of the tale as old as time. He confirmed that his version will take place in the same period setting as the fairy tale; we’re hoping that means it will include some of the stylized visuals he’s become known for with “Pan’s Labyrinth” and the “Hellboy” movies. Del Toro didn’t have a timeline yet for when his first draft on “Beauty and the Beast” would be done, but he said it should be within the next few years. After all, he’d need it to be done by then for leading lady Watson to still be a prime choice for the role of the titular beauty. “It’s a movie that you have to make in the next few years for Emma to be perfect for the part,” he said. “I think she is the perfect character to do that movie.” Watson recently wrapped filming on “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and, barring her potential involvement in Taylor Lautner’s “Incarceron,” has a free schedule for now. MC opens up to Mixtape Daily about rumors that G-Unit mogul has been ‘blackballing’ him because of his association with Chaz ‘Slim’ Williams. By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Rob Markman Grafh Photo: MTV News Celebrity Favorites: Grafh Grafh just wants to spread the love. But the Jamaica, Queens, rapper’s longtime affiliation with Black Hand Entertainment has spawned rumors that he was being blackballed by 50 Cent due to the G-Unit honcho’s rift with Black Hand’s Chaz “Slim” Williams. Grafh recently left the Black Hand fold, but insisted it’s still all good between him and Williams. “We have a mutual respect for each other, we’re like family,” Grafh told Mixtape Daily of his and Chaz’s decision to separate on the business front. “It was never a thing where he don’t want to see me succeed. I have his blessing. He was like, ‘Go make your money, do what you do.’ Really, if he can’t do what I need done, then he’s like, ‘Go get it done.’ ” As for 50’s role in the mix, Chaz was the “In Da Club” rapper’s manager back when he was signed to Columbia Records. But Fif left shortly after he was infamously shot nine times in 2000. Since then, the two have not been on the friendliest of terms. “I can’t really speak on the situation too much ’cause I was young,” Grafh said. “I was around but not in they business. I know Chaz was managing 50 before he was managing me. After the shooting, when 50 got shot, I guess he felt Chaz could have stopped that maybe ’cause Chaz got a lot of power in the ‘hood. However Chaz involvement may have been, I don’t even want to speak on none of that ’cause that ain’t any of my business.” The “power” in the ‘hood that Grafh alluded to is Williams’ reputation as an OG on the streets. Williams’ former life as a bank robber was the subject of an episode of “Notorious” on the Biography channel. In 50’s street classic “Many Men,” he refers directly to what he believes is a betrayal by his ex-manager: “Slim switched sides on me, let n—as ride on me/ I thought we was cool, why you want me to die, homey?” Despite 50 and Williams falling out, Grafh insisted that the latter still has respect for 50. Grafh just hopes that their lingering issues won’t pose a problem for his own hip-hop ambitions. “All I know is Chaz’s part, and Chaz speaks very highly of that man,” Grafh insisted. “He’s a fan of [50’s] music and a fan of 50 Cent and speaks highly of his character. Whatever feelings they may have ain’t got to do with me ’cause I wasn’t around for that [conflict]. So if any blackballing is occurring, I’m like, ‘Easy, bro. Easy, Joe, just let me get my money. I ain’t got nothing to do with nothing.’ [That’s] why I don’t even want to entertain that in the interview, if there is any blackballing going on — which it feels like that ’cause every record I got, it’s shot out the goddamn sky — then pick it up, so I can eat,” the rapper said of the tendency of his records to lose steam after gaining street buzz. Grafh also told Mixtape Daily he would be down to work with 50 Cent if the opportunity presented itself. Despite any Black Hand vs. G-Unit drama, the former Epic Records artist said he is above any beef since he knows plenty of Unit members, including Lloyd Banks, having personally come up with them in Queens too. In fact, at one point, Grafh was so tired of all the blackballing rumors that he dropped in for an impromptu meeting with 50 at the mogul’s New York City offices. “The tension is thick in the room,” Grafh recalled, describing what it was like waiting in the lobby of the G-Unit offices to see whether 50 would take a meeting with him. “I see them looking out the window, they treating me like I got a bomb on me. I’m like, ‘It’s love on my side, homey. I just want to holla at the homey and let him know it’s love, and I want it to be love, if it can be.’ “They did what they supposed to do. His man came at me like, ‘What you doing up here, young?’ ” Grafh said he responded, ” ‘I just want to holla at the homey. It’s love and it’s no problem.’ If I could talk to him, I would like to ’cause he was there.” However, 50 never did accept Grafh’s offer to chat that day. “I was hoping he was going to come out and holla at me, but he didn’t,” he said. “So if you see this interview, holla at your boy.” Grafh’s EP, The Rule, features a collaboration with Joe Budden and is set to drop soon. In the first half of our two-part interview with Shaunie O’Neal, she held nothing back as we grilled her on the behind-the-scenes politics surrounding the ever controversial “Basketball Wives” reality series. As our conversation continued Shaunie revealed her thoughts on “Messy” Meeka, the state of Jen & Evelyn’s friendship and “Basketball Wives: LA”. Do you think Jen had a point about Chad being a media-whore? I think it’s absolutely no one’s business. I always tell Evelyn and everybody else, if she’s happy, I’m happy, that’s my friend. What Chad does, doesn’t do, how he does it, is none of my business. As long as she’s happy or they are happy together, I don’t understand why everyone is all like “is it real, is it fake?” I mean they’ve been together like over a year. But Jen is her friend and had concerns, so it’s not like it’s just the public speculating? There’s so much that you guys miss because it’s an hour long show and they don’t want to be a dead horse over 12 hours of the same subject, there’s a lot that you guys miss. I think that Evelyn and Jen’s relationship…they are not as close as they were, they don’t talk everyday like they used to. We’re not bff’s all the time. So again I don’t know where Jen was coming from or how Jen was trying to come at it. I know she wasn’t trying to hurt Evelyn. I think Evelyn needed to get something off her chess to Jen; Jen probably needed to get a few things off of her chest to Evelyn and friendships do go on roller-coasters sometimes. Sometimes you fall out with your best friend in the whole world for 20 years but you figure it out and that’s all that matters. Did Meeka just leave the show never to be heard from again? Meeka was trying to tape within 12 hours of having the physical altercation with Tami. She didn’t want to leave Rome. She was all in for coming back and would be all in for another season, but I’m not sure that’s the direction we would take again because it just didn’t seem to work. You’ve been vocal about not feeling the cast of “Basketball Wives: LA”. Was the LA show a part of your plans for the franchise? I did intend for the show to branch out. I always wanted us to go to different cities. I didn’t know the first was going to be in L.A. beceause I was still in the process of filming season three in Miami. I knew a few of the girls. Gloria from jump was going to be in the L.A. [cast] and I was fine with that. Her sister definitely was not in discussion, I’m a line drawer at some point. I would never have chosen to take that route. Now as it starts to film and things start to happen, this has turned in to, there’s some basketball wives, fiances, girlfriends and then you have ‘I slept with a Basketball player at one time in my life and I’m on the show.’ That’s not ok with me. I wanted some women that actually had relationships with these men that aren’t denied. We look forward to seeing how it all goes down on the reunion special next week. I’m predicting Royce, Evelyn and Tami get in to a physical altercation, Suzy looks confused, Shaunie looks shocked and Jennifer watches while wondering if this is how people on food stamps behave. “Basketball Wives” Tami Roman Dishes On Fight With Meeka, Meeka Responds “Basketball Wives” Tami Roman Sued For Attacking Co-Star Meeka Claxton Shaunie O’Neal Defends “Basketball Wives” Franchise [EXCLUSIVE]
The ‘Turbulence’ producer lays out his strategy for his next single with Example, and another with Wynter Gordon. By Akshay Bhansali Laidback Luke Photo: Tomorrowland Festival Veteran Dutch producer Laidback Luke is known for leveling some of the most explosive live sets in the business, as was certainly the case last month, at the main stage of Boom, Belgium’s Tomorrowland Festival . Luke dropped his rendition of Kanye West’s, “All of the Lights,” “Timebomb” (with Jonathan Mendelson) and crowd favorite “Turbulence,” his hit single with Steve Aoki and Lil Jon . In the pantheon of Laidback Luke bangers, according to the producer himself, “Turbulence,” ranks among the greats. ” ‘Turbulence’ is one of the harder tracks I’ve made,” Luke told MTV News just before his set at Tomorrowland. “Steve is a big influence in that. When we made it, I could see him doing his stage dive and taking shirts off. And for me, when I play that track in my set, it’s definitely a peak. I’ll be jumping myself too, not taking shirts off or stage-diving, but Steve definitely adds up the energy for me.” With Tomorrowland now behind him, Luke has big plans for the rest of the year: He’s linked up with British singer Example for a whopping single called “Natural Disaster,” the instrumental mix of which is out already (and the version with Example’s vocals has leaked online too). Judging by the TL crowd’s response to the song as his set-opener, it certainly makes sense that Luke and Example are hoping to do more with it. ” ‘Natural Disaster’ is doing really well for me right now,” Luke said. “We are shooting a video soon, looking at treatments right now. We have a couple of young directors we are looking at, so it’s gonna be great.” And after the success of his remix of Wynter Gordon’s “Dirty Talk” last year, he may come to New York to shoot the video for another collaboration with her. “Wynter came through with a video concept for, ‘Speak Up,’ ” the producer explained. “She wanted to have, like, a block party, and we are gonna shoot it where she grew up in New York.” “All the focus is on, ‘Natural Disaster,’ for the moment,” Luke added, when pressed for details on the new single. “And then we’ll go full force on, ‘Speak Up.’ ” While, like most dance music artists in the summer, he’s busy touring the world in the world, but he did drop one sliver of a “maybe,” EDM fans will be excited to hear: He just might be working with Steve Aoki again. “DJs are working hard this summer!” Luke exclaimed. “We’ll see after the summer is done, [then] we’ll do more studio time.” Related Photos Tomorrowland Festival 2011 Related Artists Laidback Luke
