It all started in December 2012 when Justin announced he was…

It all started in December 2012 when Justin announced he was adding a second leg to the North American Believe tour. I had tried to get VIP to the first leg but I ended up just getting normal tickets which was amazing anyway. On December 12th 2012, VIP went on sale and I managed to get the M&G’s which instantly brought me to tears. I was screaming and crying for hours that day and the person I brought with me was @biebermaniaNY. I actually met her on Twitter and didn’t even really know her but now we’re like best friends. The tickets I bought were for August 2nd 2013 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The day of, I knew 2 girls from Twitter (@stratfordstyles @sashababy824), so we hung out with them online line and in the VIP party. Soon it was time to start lining up and we made sure we were one of the first people to meet Justin. Once we were lined up, we were like the 5th people in line and I saw behind the black curtain, Justin coming in on his Segway. I tried not to scream but I did screech and freak out a bit. They then sent me into the black tent. My friend Mikaela went before me and I stood there staring at Justin, I couldn’t even believe he was real. My friend told him he saved her life and he gave her a little pouty face. It was the CUTEST thing ever. (BTW apparently Justin was on voice rest so he had to avoid talking as much as possible). I was next. I walked up to him and just looked at him. I was about to start crying but I said, “I love you so much” and hugged him so tight. While I was about to cry, he sorta spun me around to take the picture and I felt him grab my face…. like FULL ON GRAB MY FACE and pull it towards his. He was holding me up against him, I thought I was dreaming! Our faces were touching, he was pulling me in so tight, I was trying to hold back the tears. Then they took the picture! As I was leaving I said hi to Ryan Good and Ryan Butler because they were standing there as well. I turned back and just looked at Justin in disbelief because I could NOT believe what had just happened. I left and then me and my friend ran to each other and hugged each other. It didn’t hit me for like a minute, so once I got up the stairs it hit me and I broke down crying for a good hour. It was the best day of my life. During the concert I was 3rd row and we made eye contact about 3 or 4 times. We handed out signs to our section (F3) that said: “We will never let you go.” Dan Kanter saw us hand them out as Justin was about to start singing “Be Alright” and the entire time, Dan smiled and stared at us and we waved to him. It was just so amazing. Thank you if you spent the time to read this. -@ikatiebelieber View original post here: It all started in December 2012 when Justin announced he was…

Stop The Domestic Violence: Terrence Howard’s Ex Says He Choked And Punched Her… “When He Gets In A Certain Headspace, It’s Scary”

Terrence this is a bad look. Terrence Howard’s Ex Says He Abused Her One woman saying you put them paws on them is bad enough, but now another ex boo thang has come forward…..where is Olivia Pope when you need her? According to The NY Daily News An ex-girlfriend who called the cops on Terrence Howard during a violent fight last year says she’s not surprised by his ex-wife’s new blockbuster claims of abuse. Pennsylvania resident May Seng Yang says she first met the Oscar-nominated actor, who is now appearing in Lee Daniels’ No. 1 flick “The Butler,” when he was separated from his first wife and dining with his kids at a local pizzeria. She says things quickly turned sexual, and they continued seeing each other even after his 2010 marriage to Michelle Ghent Howard. The 40-year-old brunette beauty shared email and text messages with the Daily News backing up her claim. Michelle, 36, now has a restraining order against Terrence based on claims he “sucker punched” and choked her in a Costa Rica vacation home during a failed reconciliation in July. The ex-wife filed new court paperwork last week claiming the “Hustle & Flow” actor physically abused her in Toronto and threatened a murder-suicide with an X-Acto blade just two weeks before their divorce was finalized on May 6 in Los Angeles. SMH. Terrence has denied ever laying a finger on Michelle and said in his own court filing that her allegations are a vengeful attempt to “ruin” his career. “I believe Michelle. I’ve seen the same behavior firsthand. He’s very likable, but when he gets in a certain headspace, it’s scary,” Yang told the News Tuesday. “He didn’t have these tendencies when I first met him, but in the last five years, he’s progressed to dangerous behavior,” she said, explaining that he was devastated by his beloved mom’s 2008 cancer death and became “depressed” over the loss. “He would say he wished he could just stop breathing,” she said. Yang’s relationship with Terrence took a dark turn on May 6, 2012, when she dropped by his Pennsylvania house unannounced. She said she ran to a neighbor’s house and called 911, but when cops arrived, Terrence claimed she was the aggressor and had a visible scratch on his face. Yang denied scratching the actor but was taken into custody, she said. Attempts to reach Terrence’s lawyers were not immediately successful. It’s clear Terrence has issues. Hopefullly, he will seek the help he needs. May Seng Yang/Wenn

For Discussion: Do Black People Combat Negative Racial Stereotypes By Faithfully Serving White Folks With Dignity?

Could YOU ever serve a white person/family with a smile on your face? Do Blacks Overcompensate For Racial Stereotypes By Serving Whites With Dignity? This weekend Lee Daniels’ The Butler opened across the country to rave reviews and tearful adulation. Lee recently sat down with the New York Times to talk about the film and surrounding issues. Via NYTimes On The POTUS having servants… Your new film, “Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” stars Forest Whitaker as a man who was a domestic servant in the White House from the 1950s through the 1980s. What did you think when you learned that there are butlers who serve the president? It goes back to kings and queens. There are servers, and there are people that are served. There’s something contradictory about that in a democracy, certainly. But someone’s got to take care of them, too. And thank God, or else I wouldn’t have a movie. On difficulty finding funding due to racial subject matter… Did the success of your film “Precious” help get this one made? It was a rough journey getting this film financed because the studios didn’t want to do it. They weren’t interested in this film at the budget that we had. The president of one studio told me, “If you were a Jewish filmmaker and this was a film about the Holocaust, we wouldn’t have this problem.” Meaning, because it’s about a black character, it wouldn’t attract a wide audience? I think that’s what she meant. I appreciate her honesty. Being a boxed into being a “black filmmaker” Do you think people expect you to make movies exclusively about the black experience? I’m not going to be labeled a black filmmaker. I am not here to just tell black stories. I’m here to tell all kinds of stories, musicals and dramas. Could I do a spaceship movie or black people on Mars or whatever? Sure. A comedy? Yes. On African-American’s treatment of whites based on racial stereotypes… The film raises the idea that black servants who do their job with dignity are, in a way, being subversive by undermining racial stereotypes. Do you agree with that? I think that for that time, absolutely, it was correct, and even for now I think there is some truth in that. I come from a family of domestics. I think most African-Americans of my age do. They were trusted by their bosses. I have met so many white people that spent more time with their nannies than they have with their own parents. My name is Lizzie, and I can officially say I met my idol Justin…

See the article here:

My name is Lizzie, and I can officially say I met my idol Justin Bieber on July 18 th 2013 at the XL Center in Hartford, CT. I got the tickets in December 2012 and I’ve been waiting for the day for such a long time. During the VIP party, Fredo, Ryan Butler, Kenny, Za, his drums player, Tay James, and a bunch of dancers walked through the room. Kenny came to talk to us to thank us for being here, and I also got a picture with with some crew members. After about an hour and a half, it was time to meet Justin. He was pretty late, but he was with Make-A-Wish kids so I was glad he was spending so much time with them. I walked slowly into the room through the curtain and tried to take in all his features at once. The first thing I saw was his gold chain he was wearing and then I saw all the tattoos, but other than that, I can’t remember much. I was so starstruck, I barley noticed Fredo in the room with us! I said something like, “Hey, oh my god, I love you so much.” Justin said “Hey” back in this really low raspy voice and then he said “I love you too,” really softly. It was so unreal. Right after the picture was taken, security pushed me from behind and as I was moving my hand down from his side. He rubbed my side a little before I left too. I walked out of there like I was floating, but right outside the curtain was Justin’s friend Lil Za. I was so starstruck, even with him! I started just talking about how awesome he is and at one point I said he was my favorite and I told him I loved him so much. I asked for a high five and he gave me one! My mom (who was behind me in line) told me that as soon as I walked away from Za, he was beaming with happiness. As we went to our seats, I saw Dan on the way there! Dan walked through the arena earlier and everyone bombarded him, but this time it was just him and I. I said hey and asked for a hug and he gave me one. I was in Section 1, Row C, Seats 13 and 14, two seats away from the catwalk! During the show, my friend Natalie (@hessourkidrauhl) who I met there and I went up against the barricade for the catwalk. After the show was over, Dan came down the catwalk and since I was now in like row 1, he handed me the only setlist for the show, signed by him! Everyone behind me got some of his guitar picks. We thanked him and left, but later that night, I thanked him again on Twitter and attached the picture of the setlist, and he followed me! During the show, it seemed like all my problems went away and I was the happiest I have ever been. I was having the time of my life. I touched almost all the dancers’ hands, and I made eye contact with Justin at least twice. During ‘Believe’ everyone in the arena held up signs saying: “Always Our Kidrauhl” and once Justin walked away from the piano, he looked down and read the sign Natalie and I were sharing, and smiled! It was really cute. As ‘Baby’ was finishing and Justin was going down into the stage, he looked right into my eyes and smiled a true, genuine smile, I’m pretty sure he winked too (but that could just be my imagination). The concert was the best night of my life and I can’t thank Justin and everyone on the crew enough for it! -@ontarioloving Original post: My name is Lizzie, and I can officially say I met my idol Justin…

Mariah Carey Tells Oprah A Childhood Story About Getting Spit On In Racist Attack On A School Bus!

It’s sad that people would act that ugly… Mariah Carey Tells Story Of Getting Spit On In Racist Attack Via Yahoo! Mariah Carey wasn’t about to close her eyes to the past when discussing racism and the making of “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” during a press conference at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Monday, also attended by Oprah Winfrey and the much of the film’s ensemble cast. Carey recalled she was riding on a Long Island school bus when a student spit on her when she was a child because of the color of her skin. And the foul memory came flooding back while she was making “The Butler.” In the movie, Carey plays the mother of Cecil Gaines (Forest Whitaker), a character based on the White House Butler Eugene Allen, who served presidents for 34 years and retired in 1986. In the early scene of the sweeping period drama about America’s tumultuous racial past as seen through the butler’s eyes, a dissolute plantation owner’s son rapes Mariah’s Georgia sharecropper. Immediately afterwards, the rapist shoots her husband dead in front of their son, Cecil, who has goaded his father to protest the violence against his mother. As traumatic as Mariah’s scene and its aftermath is, what apparently disturbed the singer/actress most was the recreation of the Woolworth’s Lunch Counter sit-in located in North Carolina in 1960. In that emotional moment in the struggle for racial equality, a white woman spits on a black college student (Yaya Alafia) simply for asking to be served at the whites-only counter. “That actually happened to me,” Carey said on Monday. “I know people would be in shock and not really want to believe or accept that, but it did. … That right there, that was almost the deepest thing to me in the movie because I know what she went through — and it happened to be a bus as well. It was a school bus.” Winfrey: “Where somebody spit on you?” Carey: “Yeah. In the face and in the same way.” The daughter of a white Irish American mother and an African American/Venezuelan father that raised her in “safe” suburban Long Island, Carey, 43, still didn’t grow up protected from racial bias. The song lyrics for “Close My Eyes” echo this experience: “I left the worst unsaid; Let it all dissipate; And I try to forget.” In the past, Carey has discussed the fact that her mother Patricia’s family disowned her for marrying a man of color in 1960. It was a rejection that Mariah felt very deeply. The racial tensions also had a negative impact on her parents’s marriage and they divorced when Mariah was three. Words can be hurtful, but there is nothing more disrespectful than spitting on somebody. Image via YouTube Continue reading
