After major shareholders criticized the addictive nature of the devices, Apple is announcing a new program that will (allegedly) curb everyone’s smartphone dependence. Bloomberg reports: Apple engineers have been working on an initiative dubbed Digital Health, a series of tools to help users monitor how much time they spend on their devices and inside of certain applications. These details will be bundled into a menu inside of the Settings app in iOS 12, the likely name of Apple’s refreshed mobile operating system, according to people familiar with the plans. Former Apple exec Tony Gadell said, “We need to have tools and data to allow us to understand how we consume digital media… We need to get finer-grain language and start to understand that an iPhone is just a refrigerator, it’s not the addiction.”

(Of course she does — even at the time, we pointed out that the two of them have always been especially close, despite their age difference) Kylie obviously couldn’t fly out to see Khloe because she’s a first time mother with a two-month-old baby of her own. But that does not mean that she doesn’t care. Kylie has now taken to social media to congratulate Khloe. Sorry, make that Kongratulate Khloe. It’s worth noting that this is just the public message. Do you ever forget to post “happy birthday!” to a significant other or a close friend on social media because you’ve been too busy celebrating their birthday with them, in real life? It’s important to remember that celebrities can do the same thing. The social media shout-out is often an afterthought for people who are truly close with each other. So when you see a celebrity like Kylie posting selfies instead of talking about her sister’s life event, that doesn’t necessarily mean that she’s heartless. She just … didn’t think to post publicly yet. Poor Khloe. (Yes, unlike Wendy Williams , we do feel sorry for her) Having her first child, at last, is wonderful news. But there’s a cloud over this happy occasion, and it’s in the shape of a tall, handsome man whose penis has an adventurous spirit. Just two days before this sweet little girl was born, Tristan Thompson was caught cheating on Khloe . Multiple photos and videos surfaced, from different months, showing different women. All during Khloe’s pregnancy. Remember when Kylie’s pregnancy and circumstances was the scandalous situation? Kylie was only 19 when she got pregnant, and she’d been dating Travis Scott for maybe a month. But since the birth of precious little Stormi Webster, we’ve learned that Travis was there for every appointment, every ultrasound. And he and Kylie take Stormi on walks in her stroller together and seem to be living as a family, despite his career. In the mean time, Khloe and Tristan seemed like a solid, age-appropriate couple. Only now, Khloe’s reportedly moving back to California and it’s not even clear if Travis will be part of her life. There have been reports that Khloe totally forgives Tristan for cheating , but nothing close to confirmation. Three different news sources came up with three different videos. Tristan seeming to make out with a woman in a bar. Tristan fooling around with two women in a hookah lounge. Tristan taking a woman back to his room. That’s a lot of evidence, and there might not be enough denial in the world for Khloe to overlook that. Considering that one woman has come forward and claimed that Tristan impregnated her , these videos may just be the tip of the cheating iceberg. (GETTY) While protesting in Northern California yesterday, Wanda Cleveland was run over by a police officer who had told the protesters to “back away” from his vehicle. Witnesses tried to report the incident and SUV info to the California Highway Patrol but say they say refused to file a report. Cleveland was rushed to a local hospital and the extent of her injuries have not been reported.
Miguel Candela/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images Starbucks Coffee Must Now Produce Cancer Warning A judge in California has ruled that coffee retailers, including the ever-popular Starbucks , must carry a cancer warning label for their products. Why? Because of a chemical that is produced in the roasting process. Elihu Berle, a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, wrote in his decision on Wednesday that coffee companies have failed to show that a carcinogen produced in the roasting process posed no significant threat. “Defendants failed to satisfy their burden of proving by a preponderance of evidence that consumption of coffee confers a benefit to human health,” he wrote. The coffee industry obviously isn’t happy with the decision, and had claimed the acrylamide chemical that was present only exists at harmless levels. Their argument is that coffee retailers should be exempt from the law because it occurs naturally in the cooking process, which is necessary to make the beans flavurful. Starbucks and the other involved defendants now have until April 10 to appeal the ruling. The lawsuit against some 90 coffee retailers was filed in 2010 by the Council for for Education and Research on Toxics. In a statement responding to the ruling, the National Coffee Association said the industry is considering all options, including appeals and further legal action. The group’s President and CEO William Murray said, “Coffee has been shown, over and over again, to be a healthy beverage. This lawsuit has… confused consumers, and does nothing to improve public health.” Didn’t see this coming, but we’ll all have to wait and see how this one plays out.
Tim Clayton/Corbis via Getty Images Venus And Serena Williams Battle It Out Once Again Venus Williams defeated her younger sister Serena Williams for the first time in almost four years, beating the new mom in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California on Monday night. This makes Venus’ first victory over Serena since August of 2014, where she also came in over her sister at the Rogers Cup in Montreal. This is also the first matchup where Venus was the higher-ranked player since the sisters competed at Bangalore in March 2008. “I’m just lucky that I’ve played more matches than her right now. She just came roaring back. I had chances for the match to be over, but it wasn’t,” Venus said in an on-court interview after the game. Serena said about her sister, “I definitely know her well, but she definitely played a little bit better than she normally does. She served very consistently. She just did everything great.” She still leads Venus 17-12 in head-to-head meetings, and just played in her first WTA tournament after a 14-month layoff for the birth of her first child. Congrats to Venus on the big win!
Johnny Nunez/WireImage Rapper Craig Mack Has Passed Away Craig Mack, the rapper who hailed from Long Island and started the foundation of Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment, has died at age 46. The news was confirmers by his producer to Daily News . Mack’s major claim to hip-hop fame was his smash hit remix of “Flava in Ya Ear” in 1994. The rapper died of heart failure at a hospital near his home in Walterboro, South Carolina on Monday. Alvin Toney, who produced Mack’s debut album “Project: Funk Da World” said he saw his dear friend one last time last week while trying to film a documentary. He said that is when Mack told him that he had been ill for quite some time and that, “he was prepared for whatever comes, to go home to the Lord.” Mack is survived by a wife and two children, who are now both adults, according to Toney.

In honor of International Women’s Day, one of the biggest fast food chains in the world turned their logo upside down in an effort to galvanize with women across the globe. But many are questioning the gesture as the company faces sexual harassment allegations from employees in the workplace and criticism over a fair, living wage. On March 8, McDonald’s will also change all logos on the company’s social media channels and 100 restaurants will have special “packaging, crew shirts and hats and bag stuffers,” Business Insider reports. One franchise in Lynwood, California gained national attention on Wednesday after it flipped the actual arch outside of the restaurant ahead of the announcement, Business Insider reports.
