John Legend Engaged To Chrissy Teigen

The singer asked his girlfriend, Chrissy Teigen, to marry him over the holidays. The couple confirmed the news in a statement to People. “John Legend and his girlfriend, model Chrissy Teigen, got engaged over the holidays while vacationing in the Maldives,” a rep confirmed. People reports that while little else is known about how they celebrated the good news, Legend will be in Las Vegas this weekend performing at the Pearl at the Palms on New Year’s Eve. “We validate or shut down whatever each of us is doing,” Legend told People in May about how the pair help style one another. “[It’s] all of the time. We were together when we picked out our clothes today. She’s better [at it]. It’s harder to dress a woman — there are so many options and accessories. For guys we only have so many elements.” The couple began dating in 2007. Teigen is best known for her work as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. It’s a big week for Legend, who will also celebrate his birthday Wednesday. Legend and Teigen weren’t the only pair who got engaged over the holidays: Matthew McConaughey popped the question to his model girlfriend, Camila Alves, on Christmas Day. He took to Twitter to share the good news. “Just asked camila to marry me, merry Christmas,” he tweeted, also posting a photo of him and Alves kissing next to Christmas decorations. It’s taken years of dating and a pair of children, but Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are finally engaged! How do we know? The actor himself Tweeted yesterday: “Just asked Camila to marry me, #MerryChristmas.” The Lincoln Lawyer star and model – 42 and 29, respectively – met in 2006 and have two adorable children together: three-year-old son Levi and 23-month old daughter Vida. McConaughey included the photo above with his Tweet, which depicts the actor with very little hair, but a whole lot of heart. Congrats to the beautiful couple!

The Heart Truth aims to shed awareness on heart disease, which is a leading killer among women. This year’s show will feature a number of celebrities, including Audrina Patridge, Camila Alves, Cat Deeley, Denise Richards, Dita Von Teese, Julianne Hough, Katrina Bowden and Natasha Bedingfield, to name a few. When MTV News caught up with Eve recently, she opened up about prepping for the show. “It makes me feel like a lady,” she said of her red David Meister dress. “Which is nice! I want to go to a ball in it! It’s beautiful. I definitely will have to have good posture in this dress. It’s a beautiful dress.” Eve is known for her tough, street-smart style, and she said she wanted to show a new side of herself in the show. “From what I know about David’s dresses, they are very elegant. They are very pretty. I did want to wear something that would sway with me on the runway, just because I’m not a model and I’m not trying to do a crazy walk. I guess this will help me walk down the aisle the right way.” Sure, Eve has graced many a red carpet, but she admits that walking down the runway has her shaken. “I’m ridiculously nervous! I just hope it’s over quickly. You know, I want everyone to see the dress and I want to walk. I don’t want to run down the runway, but I’m scared. I am.
