Eva Longoria In Tears After Obama Victory

Eva Longoria, who stumped for President Obama during the 2012 Presidential campaign, told Good Morning America: “I was in tears, first of all. I thought it would be a longer night. We were prepared. … I was so excited because we did work very hard for the campaign, but it just shows that the middle class won. Super PACs didn’t get to buy the election. They didn’t get to buy America.” Longoria sent out a photo of herself in tears after it was announced that Obama won the election. It’s a group

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie Tells Republican Haters To Sit The Fawk Down!

You tell them Governor! Christie caught a whole lot of shade for dissin’ Mittens on his campaign stop the last night before voting day. According to The Huffington Post though, Governor Christie doesn’t give a fawk what Robney’s camp is saying: Christie responded to the report during a press conference on Tuesday, saying that Romney had called him last Sunday to get an update on the situation as Hurricane Sandy headed toward New Jersey. “I told Governor Romney at that time that if the storm landed as predicted that it was going to be catastrophic to New Jersey and unprecedented,” Christie said. “I said to him, ‘Listen, Mitt, if this storm hits the way I think it’s going to, I’m off the campaign trail from here to Election Day.’ And he said to me, ‘Chris, of course. That’s what you have to do. Do your job, don’t worry about me. I’ll take care of things.’ So all this other noise, I think, is coming from know-nothing, disgruntled Romney staffers who, you know, don’t like the fact that I said nice things about the President of the United States. Well, that’s too bad for them.” “He told me last Sunday night that he expected no other political travel or help from me over the course of the remaining time between then and the election, if in fact the storm hit the way it was projected,” Christie continued. “If it missed us, I would have been happy to go out on the road and help him. But it didn’t.” The superstorm devastated parts of New Jersey and left millions without power. President Barack Obama declared New Jersey a major disaster area, freeing up federal aid to help with the storm recovery. Christie said last week that the federal response “has been great.” “I was on the phone at midnight again last night with the president personally,” Christie said. “The president has been outstanding in this, and so the folks of FEMA, Craig Fugate and his folks have been excellent.” Politico reported earlier this week that Romney insiders were unhappy with Christie’s praise for Obama, which one described as “over the top.” A source inside Romney’s campaign also told Jon Ward that Christie should have attended a rally in Morrisville, Pa., 20 minutes from Trenton, the New Jersey capital. “You can’t tell me he couldn’t have gone over there for a night rally,” the source told Ward. Can these fools stop whining already so we can move on?!?! Images via twitter

Kelly Soo Park, "Female James Bond," Accused of Juliana Redding Murder

Juliana Redding, a slain Maxim model who died in 2008, was done in by hired “muscle” contracted by her father’s business partner, according to prosecutors. Kelly Soo Park, a.k.a. the female James Bond, was allegedly that muscle. Prosecutors charge that Juliana Redding , 21, was strangled by Kelly Soo Park, 47, who “has a history of threatening and intimidating individuals.” Her targets are those who “have an ongoing dispute with” Dr. Munir Uwaydah, a California doctor and businessman. She was allegedly hired by him several times. Park was arrested in 2010 for the murder and is now free on $3.5 million bail. She is awaiting trial early next year for the killing of Redding for years ago. Redding had moved to Los Angeles from Arizona, hoping to pursue a career in modeling and acting. She was employed as a waitress when she was killed. Park’s previous history as “debt collector” for Uwaydah was detailed in court papers filed by prosecutors. Two months after Redding’s murder in 2008, she allegedly traveled to Kentucky to intimidate one of Uwaydah’s ex-business partners into paying a $350,000 judgment. Two years later, she applied the same tactics to a California bank manager after he attempted to back out of a business venture, prosecutors allege. Uwaydah, who fled to Lebanon shortly after Park’s 2010 arrest, once dated Redding and was preparing to start a “pain cream” business with her father Greg. When her father learned that Uwaydah was married and had children, he advised his young daughter to end her relationship with the physician. Not long afterwards, Greg Redding pulled out of the business venture after growing increasingly suspicious of Uwaydah, according to prosecutors. Three days later, Park – who prosecutors claim Uwaydah once boasted was a female “James Bond” – began stalking Juliana Redding, officials argue. She eventually showed up at Redding’s bungalow on March 15, 2008, in an attempt to “intimidate and threaten” the model, according to the DA filings. Redding had been attempting to call 911 when her cellphone was yanked from her hands; she was murdered shortly afterwards, investigators believe. When police discovered her the next day, the bones in her neck had been crushed and her gas stove was on, possibly an attempt to blow up the apartment. Park’s attorney insists she had nothing to do with Redding’s murder.

Obama "Revenge" Quote Reverberates on Campaign Trail

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is hammering President Obama for a recent campaign speech in which he told the crowd, “voting is the best revenge .” Obama: Revenge! Obama’s comment was part a familiar stump speech riff; if audience members boo Romney’s name, the president habitually says, “no no, don’t boo – vote!” In Springfield, Ohio, he said just that, adding, “Voting is the best revenge.” In response, his challenger tried to play up the remark (and the current White House occupant) as divisive, telling audiences, “vote for love of country, not revenge.” Asked to explain the word choice, the Obama campaign said that Romney is “closing his campaign with an ad full of scare tactics that’s frightening workers in Ohio.” Sigh. Either way, it’ll all be over tomorrow. Who ya got?!   Obama-Biden Romney-Ryan View Poll »

Clear Eyes, Full Heart, Can’t Use: Did Mitt Romney Plagiarize ‘Friday Night Lights’?

Politicians have long appropriated pop culture to lend their campaigns relevancy and catchy hooks, so it wasn’t unprecedented when Republican nominee Mitt Romney began using the popular Friday Night Lights catchphrase “Clear eyes, full heart, can’t lose” in his bid for the Presidency. That doesn’t mean filmmaker Peter Berg has to be happy about it. In an open letter to Romney, Berg — who directed 2004’s Friday Night Lights , adapted from H.G. Bissinger’s book about a small Texas town obsessed with football, and created its subsequent spin-off television series — slammed the former Governor of Massachusetts for using the now-famous FNL line. “Your politics and campaign are clearly not aligned with the themes we portrayed in our series,” wrote Berg, who described the citation as plagiarism. Via EW : Governor Romney: I created the TV show “Friday Night Lights” and came up with the phrase “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose.” I was not thrilled when I saw that you have plagiarized this expression to support your campaign by using it on posters, your facebook page and as part of your stump speeches. Your politics and campaign are clearly not aligned with the themes we portrayed in our series. The only relevant comparison that I see between your campaign and “Friday Night Lights” is in the character of Buddy Garrity — who turned his back on American car manufacturers selling imported cars from Japan. Your use of the expression falsely and inappropriately associates “Friday Night Lights” with the Romney/Ryan campaign. Mitt, we all wish you and your family all the best. We are grateful for your support of our beloved show, but we are not in any way affiliated with you or your campaign. Please come up with your own campaign slogan. Sincerely, Peter Berg. To be fair, President Obama ‘s campaign also used the slogan, albeit less overtly and on Tumblr . I guess that was at least football-related, and therefore more closely aligned with the themes Berg & Co. portrayed in their series. [E W ] Follow Jen Yamato on Twitter . Mitt Romney Stands By "47 Percent" Comments: Will Video Derail His Campaign?

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney admitted his comments captured on hidden camera at a fundraiser earlier this year were “not elegantly stated,” but did not back away from the broader point he was trying to make. In the video, which leaked Monday, he is seen telling donors that 47 percent of voters are “victims” reliant on handouts and will support President Obama regardless. Last night, Romney called his remarks “off the cuff” but wouldn’t disavow them.

Paul Ryan’s Got Jokes…And Tries To Act Like He’s Down With His ‘Young-er’ Choices In Music

Dude just sounds like a cornball to us! Last night, Paul Lyan gave his acceptance speech and even tried to crack a few jokes. He got laughs from the crowd…and from the couches we were all watching from. “There are the songs on his iPod which I’ve heard on the campaign bus, and on many hotel elevators. He actually urged me to play some of these songs at campaign rallies. I said, ‘I hope it’s not a deal-breaker Mitt, but my playlist starts with AC/DC and ends with Zeppelin.’ “ Listen Paula, don’t try to act like you can relate to a younger, more laid back group of voters all of a sudden.
