Lake Bell: Nude in New York Magazine!

Lake Bell is naked for New York Magazine’s Fall Fashion issue, wearing only elaborate rose ink designed by her husband Scott Campbell, an LA tattoo artist. Her right hand strategically covers her unmentionables. Take a look: The 34-year-old wed Campbell on June 1 in New Orleans, La. Celebrity guests included Eva Longoria, Kate Bosworth, Alicia Silverstone, Josh Hartnett, Cameron Diaz, Justin Theroux and fiancee Jennifer Aniston. But only Campbell saw Lake Bell nude … until NOW. Actually that’s not true. She also got naked in How To Make It In America back when that was still on. The more you know, people. The more you know.

Paul Rudd’s Prank: Promises ‘Anchorman 2’ Clip On Conan But Delivers Mysterious Alien Creature

The cool thing about genuinely funny people is that they can get laughs out of doing the same thing over and over and over again. When mere mortals are intentionally repetitive, they usually get punched in the face. On Tuesday night, Paul Rudd appeared on Conan O’Brien’s TBS talk show with what he claimed was a clip from the highly anticipated Anchorman 2 . “This is going to go crazy viral,” said Conan, setting up what has been a running joke between the two men for a while now.  Instead of a glimpse into the world of Ron Burgundy and Brian Fantana , viewers at home were treated to the runaway wheelchair scene from Mac and Me , a clip that Rudd has used before on Conan’s show as a substitute for whatever movie he’s actually promoting. The best part: after Rudd apologized for belaboring the running gag, he did show an Anchorman 2 clip. Or did he? Rudd’s Running Gag In case your Anchorman 2 itch still needs to be scratched, here’s the teaser trailer, which is still funny all these months later. ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ TV Clip: Kirk Takes Center Stage

When the Star Trek Into Darkness   marketing campaign began in earnest late last year with a much-discussed teaser trailer, the debate was all about the villain:   Benedict Cumberbatch’s icy voiceover and acrobatic evildoing led to lots of theorizing that his mysterious character was Khan , Robert April and other Star Trek canon creeps . Four months later, with the release of the J.J. Abrams -directed film a little over a month away, a TV clip that debuted on Sunday continued to shift the spotlight from bad guy to good:  Captain James T. Kirk.   Actually, the transition began with the Star Trek Into Darkness international trailer that hit the web in late March. Although Cumberbatch’s character is prominent (and vicious) in the clip, Chris Pine’s Kirk emerges as the guy who’s going to break a lot of rules and sacrifice however many Starship Enterprise extras he needs to top Benny’s reign of terror. You can watch the transition via the embeds below: First Teaser Trailer Star Trek International Trailer The latest TV Clip: The key dialogue in that last clip begins with Kirk’s superior officer Christopher Pike ( Bruce Greenwood )  telling him: “Do you have any idea what a pain in the ass you are?”  then, later, adding: “But there’s greatness in you, Jim.” Okay, so it’s no surprise that the central conflict of STID is Kirk vs. Cumberbatch. Rather, it’s…marketing. As the clock ticks down to STID ‘s release date, it’s a way of preparing moviegoers who aren’t Star Trek geeks for what to expect at their local cineplex come May 16. What remains to be seen is whether future clips will put the emphasis on any other supporting characters, such as Spock , in the weeks to come. Follow Frank DiGiacomo on  Twitter. ‘American Psycho’ Parody — Huey Lewis Kills In Funny Or Die Bit

Until today, I associated Huey Lewis’ name with two thoughts:  1) He was the musical artist behind some of the most annoying pop hits of the 1980s; and 2) he showed his penis in Robert Altman’s 1993 film Short Cuts .  But now that I’ve seen him in this Funny or Die American Psycho parody clip, I’m seriously considering forgiving him for giving me a decade-long headache and adding him to my list of secret geniuses. The clip is a real mind-fuck: it’s satirizes a scene that satirized Lewis’ music in a movie that satirized 1980s commercialism and greed, and it also stars master parodist (and longtime secret genius)  Weird Al Yankovic in the victim role originally played by  Jared Leto . (I’ve included it below for the sake of comparison.) How’s that for meta? Lewis’ aping of Christian Bale’ s performance, while the original scene plays on a TV right next to him, is particularly impressive, and I love Yankovic’s crack about the newspapers covering the floor. And the coup de gras is that the clip is used to promote the back catalogs of both artists.  The Funny or Die clip features “I Want A New Drug,” off Lewis’ most successful album, Sports , which turns 30 in September. That single spawned Yankovic’s “I Want A New Duck,” which was not one of his best, and, well, let’s just say he pays for his sins.  I swear, you could build an New York University Tisch School of the Arts class around deconstructing this clip. The other secret genius involved in this enterprise: Funny or Die director/editor PatB , who also did the very funny “Oscar’s Best Handjob Award” video, which I’ve posted at the bottom. I hope there’s a feature in this guy’s future. WATCH: ‘Within The Woods’, Sam Raimi’s 1979 ‘Evil Dead’ Prototype

With Fede Alvarez’s   remake of Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead about to hit theaters on Friday, it’s a good time to take the Hot Tub Time Machine back to 1979 when rotary dial phones were still common and the Oz The Great and Powerful director was just an aspiring filmmaker with an idea for a bloody and original horror film. Movies.com has unearthed Within The Woods &not to be confused with Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods — the 30-minute proof-of-concept short that Raimi used to raise money to produce his 1981 horror classic,  The Evil Dead.  Before you click play, make sure you’re in a receptive and patient mood. This clip looks like it was bootlegged from a pre-cable TV tuned in to a particularly weak UHF station. (Remember those?) But if you can get in the right frame of mind to watch it, it’s pretty cool to see Bruce Campbell looking bespectacled and nerdy (as opposed to the Vegas Elvis impersonator he’s become) and to witness Raimi’s early promise as a filmmaker. The scene where heroine Ellen Sandweiss uses Campbell’s severed hand, which holds a knife, to dispatch him is a nice touch, although the scene where she repeatedly slams a door on a friend who’s she’s accidentally stabbed veers into unintentional comedy.  (By the way, Sandweiss appeared as a quadling in Oz .) What do you think of the movie? Better yet, what do you think of the rotary-dial phone that appears near the end.  Mwa-ha-ha-ha! [ Movieweb via Movies.com ] Follow Frank DiGiacomo on  Twitter .
