The federal government’s “Cash For Clunkers” program kicked into gear last week, offering instant rebates to trade fuel-inefficient cars for more efficient models. NY1’s Money Matters reporter Tara Lynn Wagner filed the following report on what buyers and sellers need to know about the process.

Some car shoppers are finding that their trade-in vehicles, which qualified for a Cash for Clunkers rebate last week, don’t this week thanks to changes in the EPA’s fuel economy ratings.
