Ever since co-signing Donald Trump’s MAGA madness that’s been tearing away at the fabric that is our democracy and turning political norms on it’s head, Kanye West has been making some interesting choices, including starting a weekly Sunday service in which he and his congregation praise the Lord in Yeezy fashion. Naturally, the service is an exclusive affair and held at a secret location in LA. So when it was announced that Kanye would be taking his choir with him to Coachella to give the crowd a spiritual experience, we didn’t know what to expect but it has happened and of course, it was something to behold. Taking to a hilltop stage at a camping area of the festival, Kanye’s set began at nine in the morning, but Yeezus himself didn’t take to the mic until two hours later where he set things off with his ’04 classic cut “All Falls Down” before eventually debuting his new spiritually moving track “Water.” Rocking a new Easter-egg lavender colored wig piece and purple church getup, Ye rocked the crowd as only he can and gave attendees a show they’ll soon not forget. An Akron, Ohio, mom claims that her two daughters were kicked out of their private Christian school, some 30 days before summer break, all because she is unmarried. According to WKYC , Summer Grant’s daughters Summara and Summaia, who were fourth and second graders, had gone to Chapel Hill Christian School for years until last Friday. Apparently, an administrator banned her children because he believes she is “living in sin.” “He said it was many reasons and the main one was because I was not married and my children had different fathers,” Grant said. That, and Grant has receipts—she recorded the conversation. “There’s 10 commandments and committing adultery is not part of that,” Pastor Wilson can be heard saying on tape. “It’s not that they should not go to the school it’s that they can’t go to the school.” Grant also told WKYC that her daughters are model students, winning multiple awards and having good grades. And despite an incident on the bus last week, where one her daughters didn’t sit up front when the driver told her to, the children have no real history of disciplinary issues. She claims the Pastor even told her his decision to expel her daughters had nothing to do with that particular incident. “It’s not right. It’s not right,” Grant stressed, adding, “As Christian you are not supposed to judge. You shouldn’t have affected these kids education over that.” This isn’t the first time Pastor Wilson has confronted Grant about her personal life. She claims over the summer he asked why she had three children with three different men. He also had the audacity to give her a list of eight things she needs to do to improve her life. “It wasn’t about whether they had their scholarship in place,” Grant tearfully told the Akron Beacon Journal . “It was more or less about me just not living right. … It was an uncomfortable conversation, but I sat through it because I really wanted my children to go to the school.” Pastor Wilson declined to go on camera with WKYC, but in a statement, he explained that parents were required to sign a written agreement to reflect a commitment to Christ and the Grant family acted in a manner “inconsistent” with the agreement. In his eyes, the “dismissal was necessary in order to protect the safety of our school children and their families.” In the meantime, Grant says her girls have no school to finish the year out right now. “They don’t have a school,” she said. They don’t have anywhere to go to school right now. I don’t know what to do.” When it comes to next year, she’s not sure if its worth fighting to have her kids back to Chapel Hill Christian School next fall where, “they’re honestly not welcome in.” Last week on Facebook, Grant thanked everyone who had sent her kind words and tried to help her find a new school for her girls. In the end, she just doesn’t want anyone to judge her daughters for her own life decisions. “I really want to thank everyone for any kind words shares messages calls or referrals! This situation has really put me in a bind mentally!!! I can say I’ve done some “not so ok things” in my life,” the mother wrote. Adding, Done some things I probably shouldn’t have but I don’t want to be judged as a bad person! I don’t even know why I am bothering with Joy Corrigan. She is just some South Florida girl who got on instagram, was able to show off her big fake tits, that’s the reason she bought them, and eventually found herself some rich guys to live off of, and a sense of meaning and importance, like people actually cared about her and thought she had something to offer, like her tits…so like every low level instagram model, her ego got inflated and she ended up in NYC or LA where she is likely pursuing acting or modeling only to really get work back home in florida cuz brands need bikini pics and she’s got that bikini body for the bikini pics….that doesn’t need to be flown or housed anywhere….but that is instead local and can capture their IG content for them. So if anything, being in Florida was a gift, it allowed her to get “jobs” cuz companies needed bikini pics..while throwing her in NYC made her fade into obscurity…since she’s not that great… But she’s back, I guess…with a new face…and it’s all so boring…I’ll still post it though cuz I’ve already written a paragraph on it. Source: CBS / CBS Tichina Arnold is clear: Never count her out, because she’s not going anywhere, but up. The actress, known for her iconic role as Pam on “Martin and having a career that has spanned more than three decades, is back on network television playing Tina Butler on the CBS hit comedy, “The Neighborhood.” Acting alongside the beloved Cedric the Entertainer , their freshman sitcom centers on how one African-American family adjusts to a white Midwestern family moving into their predominantly Black Los Angeles neighborhood. The season finale, which airs on April 22, tackles white privilege head-on by using humor to interrogate how Black and white folks get treated in certain spaces i.e a nearby snooty country club. Not surprisingly, Arnold is absolutely hilarious in it and the episode provides us with a much-needed lesson on motherhood, white privilege and the power of friendship. HelloBeautiful sat down with the seasoned actress to talk about the comedy’s finale, the importance of tackling issues of race through laughter and how blessed she feels to be working in the industry that she loves. HelloBeautiful: So, the first season of “The Neighborhood” wraps tonight! How are you feeling? Tichina Arnold: Oh, it feels great. It’s been such an amazing experience to be on this show and tonight’s episode is something special. HB: The season finale focuses on white privilege, which we know can be a heavy topic. Why is engaging in these conversations about race and gentrification with laughter important to you? TA: The show’s concept is loosely based on the life of the show’s creator Jim Reynolds. He was the new white neighbor and knows first-hand what these conversations and experiences look like, so what a better way to teach people and broaden people’s horizons and thinking through laughter? Laughter is great for the soul, it can help usher in life lessons and teach us how to get along and accept each other’s differences. HB: Did the topics from the season finale, especially around white privilege, spark any interesting conversations among the cast? TA: You know, the cast talks about this topic all the time. We’re pretty open and speak about it amongst ourselves, especially at the table reads, which is important. But the key for me is not take yourself too seriously [with the material] because that would make “The Neighborhood” a different show. But we definitely want to ask these tough questions and don’t shy away from them. We also want to know what our viewers think. We love to hear your opinions! HB: Did the topics the show addresses attract you to the role? TA: Most definitely! The idea of gentrification is real to a lot of people, including my own family, my parents. We lived in different neighborhoods that were gentrified by different cultures and it’s a huge change that a lot of people don’t initially accept. They worry about what it’s going to do, will it be good and how will these changes impact them. HB: And rightfully so… TA: Definitely. During the season, we see that Calvin was pretty resistant to that change and with good reason some of the time. [Laughs] But I also kind of see him like Archie Bunker—ignorant to certain things, things he’s never experienced. So it’s a journey for him, but also a means for him to teach others too. In one episode, he explains to Dave [played by Max Greenfield] how his family lived in that neighborhood for a very long time and when the white people moved in and then left, the town went down and the Black residents worked hard to keep it together. Now, that the white people are back, the area got better. There’s a frustration there and these are important points that need to be heard. HB: Speaking of Cedric, you two have such amazing chemistry on the show! TA: It’s been crazy…I’ve known Cedric for a very long time and he’s one of my favorite celebrity friends that I’ve never worked with all these years! So I was pretty excited about being cast with him on the show. It’s all love between us. And having a genuine love and respect with someone right there is a winning combination. You just can’t lose. Source: CBS / CBS HB: For your character Tina, what do you love about playing her? TA: Tina is so open and wants to learn more and that’s magic. I also love the relationship between Tina and Gemma [played by Beth Behrs ]. It’s not often that we see a white woman and a Black woman be friends [as equals] and have this organic relationship. We’ve gotten such a great response to them and it’s refreshing to see people from totally different ethnic backgrounds getting along and having fun with one another. HB: I recently saw that you have Beth have also become good friends in real-life too. TA: Our friendship has truly impacted my life. We have so much fun together and we are not afraid to ask each other questions. If there is something in the script [about white people] I just do not understand, I will ask her, “Beth, what is this? What is froyo?” [Laughs] And she’ll tell me it means “frozen yogurt.” And I’m like, “Oh, that’s a white girl thing.” We just laugh. But she is so kind-hearted and loud and she can even twerk. HB: The two of you are the queens of physical comedy on the show with Beth recently telling PEOPLE that she looks at y’all as Lucy and Ethel from “I Love Lucy.” TA: Ha! I’d say we are more Laverne and Shirley. But we LOVE physical comedy and to be able to do that on this show is incredible. We both were class clowns as little kids and Beth is so fearless. So to be able to act with someone who is the same way as you is amazing. And I can get wild. Like they will tell me on set, “Tichina relax, calm down!” But I can’t help it. TA: When I was a little girl, in order in get out of trouble, I used to make my mother laugh so she wouldn’t punish me for whatever thing I had done. HB: So…good news: “The Neighborhood” got picked up for a second season! Congrats. TA: Thank you! We were so happy and shocked, because with TV you just never know! But we’re ready for next season. HB: If you could have anyone guest star next season, who would it be? TA: Ooooh… Rita Morena ! I was able to act with her in “Happily Divorced.” She’s fantastic. Also, Garret Morris —who was on “Martin” with me and “Two Broke Girls” with Beth. It would be a little family reunion! We had Marla Gibbs on the show before and I like people like Marilu Henner (from “Taxi” and “Evening Shade”), actors who are established and have had long careers on TV. David Eason is an extremely angry and extremely bored person. If you’ve ever met a rage addict with too much time on their hands, we don’t need to tell you it’s a bad combination. And in David’s case, the situation is made worse by the fact that he has a relatively large platform (even after being fired from Teen Mom 2 ) and a seemingly endless supply of Jenelle’s money to burn. And Eason isn’t selective about the targets of his wrath. We won’t bother to get into the many, many abuse allegations against Eason here, but suffice it to say, he sometimes prefers to unleash his fury in the home, Other times, David prefers to pick on someone his own size — but only when they’re too far away to physically do anything about it. Lately, David’s favorite target has been Jeremy Calvert, second husband of Leah Messer. David has feuded with Jeremy in the past, as he’s feuded with just about everyone who’s ever been involved with the show. But this time, the beef has gotten particularly nasty: “Why is his hair so thin though?” David recently commented on a photo of Leah and Jeremy. “Probably all the stress from watch [Leah] strung out on drugs while texting and driving with kids in the car,” he added. “Poor babies someone needs to save those kids from this addict before it’s too late.” Leah was quick to jump to her former (and possibly current) dude’s defense: “Haven’t you already been blocked by Instagram how many times again for bullying on social networks?” she wrote to David. “They even though Jeremy’s account was you! @Instagram pleaseeee take down this account too,” Leah added. “They are a harm to our communities and our families. Get off my page with your threats, defamation and irrational behavior!” Unfortunately, Instagram has yet to respond to Leah’s plea. And so, David still has his account, and he’s still harassing Leah. “Plan B is not to be ‘taken as needed,’” an obsessed Eason wrote alongside a photo of Leah that he posted to his own IG Stories. “I wouldn’t expect anything better from this dumbass. She can hardly even form a sentence when she talks.” Yes, this dude really went there, and yes, he’s so fixated that he’s denigrating Leah on his account. (Though to be fair, he’s probably blocked by hers.) Thus far, the Calverts have yet to respond, which is obviously for the best. Unfortunately, trolling might be David’s only talent in life, and he’s proven to be something of an expert when it comes to pulling people into conflicts they want no part of. A teen from Georgia is turning his tragedy into triumph and is living proof that with hard work and perseverance it’s possible to beat the odds. According to Inside Edition Tre Lawson —a track star who was paralyzed after a car accident—is aiming to get back to running. Tre Lawson is on a mission to run again — and hopefully inspire others in the process https://t.co/9xf5x2SyWH — News4JAX (@wjxt4) April 20, 2019 At one point Lawson, who attended Westside High School, was one of the top track athletes in the country, but things took a tragic turn in 2017. After winning a track meet, he got into a car with a group of friends and the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle went off the road and crashed. Lawson suffered serious injuries including damage done to his head, abdomen, and spinal cord. He woke up in the hospital nearly a month after the accident occurred. “It was a huge depressing moment. I thought maybe this is the last time I’ll be able to run again, my career is over. I was wondering if the coaches would still be interested in me even if I recover in due time,” he told the news outlet. “Looking at the four walls of the hospital room, you become depressed really quickly.” Although it took a while for Lawson to come to terms with what had happened, he ultimately decided he wouldn’t let his circumstances defeat him. He was motivated to get back on the track. He went through a rigorous rehabilitation program at the Shepherd Center based in Atlanta. Day after day Lawson went hard with his strength training so that he wouldn’t have to be confined to a wheelchair. He recently got back on the track at his high school with a walker and was able to walk 200 meters in 30 minutes. He says that the accident has inspired him to focus on the positive aspects of life. “Every day isn’t a sunny day. You have to have rain in order to have a rainbow some days.” Lawson has launched his own nonprofit organization for patients at the Shepherd Center. SEE ALSO: T.I.
