Michael Jordan Responds To Kobe Bryant’s Comments On An Olympic Dream Team Showdown 2012 Olympic Dream Team front runner Kobe Bryant was in Las Vegas talkin that talk to reporters about the 1992 Dream Team which included the likes of NBA Hall of Famers Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. Kobe insisted that the legendary old-heads would have been no match for Kobe and company had the two teams battled it out on the court. Of course, His Airnes s took the first opportunity he got to shut Kobe’s claims all the way down. Michael Jordan said there’s no way Kobe Bryant and this year’s USA Olympic basketball team could’ve beaten the 1992 Dream Team. ordan told the Associated Press on Thursday that he laughed — “I absolutely laughed” — when hearing Bryant’s comments that the squad training in Las Vegas could take Jordan and company. Jordan said there’s “no comparison” which team is better. “For him to compare those two teams is not one of the smarter things he ever could have done,” Jordan said prior playing in a celebrity golf tournament in Charlotte. Jordan said the 1992 team, which included 11 future Hall of Famers and won its six Olympic games by an average of more than 43 points en route to capturing the gold medal, was a better overall team largely because of the experience it put on the floor. “I heard Kobe say we were not athletic,” said a smiling Jordan as he sat in a golf cart puffing on his cigar while waiting to tee off. “But we were smart. He said we were too old, but I was 29 and in the prime of my career. Pip (Scottie Pippen) was 26 or 27, (Charles) Barkley was 29, Patrick (Ewing) was 29 and Chris Mullin was 29. Almost everybody was still in their twenties.” Jordan’s response came after Bryant told reporters in Las Vegas that this year’s team could pull out a win against the Dream Team if they faced each other in their primes. Bryant said this year’s team has a bunch of racehorses, players who are incredibly athletic while the Dream Team consisted mainly of players at the tail end of their careers. We’re gonna give Kobe a pass this time since Vanessa must be gassin his head up with all this get-back-together talk . He didn’t know any better, Mike, cut him some slack. Source
It’s the hot American Idol talk making all the rounds and creating all the buzz: Adam Lambert is under serious consideration to be a Season 12 judge. There’s just one problem: this is news to Adam Lambert. Speaking to U.K. radio station Capital FM yesterday, the former runner-up sounded excited but cautious about the possibility, referring to it as a “beautiful rumor.” “I’m just hearing about this today,” Adam said. “Listen, if – and I say ‘if’ with a capital I-F – if they were to approach me and if they were to say, ‘We want you to be a judge on the show,’ I would love that. I would jump at the chance. “I owe my career to American Idol . I mean, if it weren’t for American Idol , I doubt that… I would be sitting here with you… I think it would be really exciting to be sitting at a judging panel and trying to help people reach their dreams.” Aside from Lambert, chatter persists that Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and others are up for American Idol judging spots . Would you wanna see Adam on the panel?

Swedish-born actor Stellan Skarsgard has run a wide gamut of film roles in his career. His blockbuster fare includes roles in Marvel’s The Avengers and last year’s Thor . He appeared in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo , Mamma Mia as well as artier titles like A Somewhat Gentle Man (2010) and fellow Scandinavian Lars von Trier’s Melancholia (2011), Dogville (2003) and Dancer in the Dark (2000). One of his next projects is the controversial filmmaker’s next two films, which have already titillated fans of the enigmatic Danish director. Skarsgard gave a bit of insight about the back to back projects, The Nymphomaniac and The Nymphomaniac Part 2 , which, perhaps unsurprisingly, promise to live up to their titles. Skarsgard will star opposite Charlotte Gainsbourg in what the actor recently joked is “the porno we’re doing…” The films are described as a “light and poetic story” of a woman’s erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told via the main character who is a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac. Initially, the “erotic journey” part of the story was allegedly being fulfilled by porn-star stand-ins, but Skarsgard left unclear who was doing what, though apparently there will be no shortage of carnal delights for von Trier fans to indulge in. He told Sabotage Times, “I pick up Charlotte Gainsbourg’s character on the street and take her back to my apartment, and over two movies we talk about her time as a nymphomaniac.” He added, “There’s a lot of fucking in it. A lot of fucking in it.” The 61 year-old actor, who will also appear in Thor 2 , which will be out next year said he feels “at home” in both big budget movies as well as micro-budget independents. “I’m at home everywhere. If I’ve been doing a small, shoestring budget art-house film that’s very dark and that nobody will see, but that’s very good, it’s nice to go and do something fluffier. I’m extremely privileged in that I manage to enjoy myself all the time with very different materials.” [Source: Sabotage Times via Contactmusic ]

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes They courted and were married amidst a media spectacle, but after five years of marriage, one of Hollywood’s most celebrated couples, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes , are calling it quits. [ PHOTOS: 5+ Years of TomKat in Pictures ] The two wed in an Italian castle back in November 2006 and who can forget those images of Cruise giving Holmes a lift on the back of his motorcycle, as well as the jump on the couch seen around the world on the Oprah Winfrey show? But sadly, the romance has faltered, according to People magazine. The news will undoubtedly unleash a barrage of the ever-present five year contract riffs, though the marriage did actually sustain a bit more time – about 5.7 years, in fact. “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” Holmes’s attorney Jonathan Wolfe said. “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.” Their daughter, Suri, is now six. This was Cruise’s third marriage. [Source: People ]
