The 20-year-old Pittsburgh MC is currently on tour for his Macadelic mixtape. By Rob Markman Mac Miller Photo: MTV News Mac is back, so you can expect a Most Dope “RapFix Live” when Mac Miller returns to the red couch on Wednesday. It’s been a hell of a ride for the 20-year-old spitter, and he doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. After landing the #1 album in the country last November with his debut LP Blue Slide Park, Mac has been moving at an accelerated pace. He concluded his 80-date, sold-out BSP tour in December and immediately hit the lab to cook up his Macadelic mixtape , which he dropped as a free Internet download in March. “It’s like the story of someone who is growing up, trying to figure out who he is and trying to figure out what he’s supposed to do in the world and how he’s gonna change it,” Mac told Mixtape Daily of Macadelic. “I think it’s a great piece because it’s a great part of my career, it’s a great time right now and I feel like I been making mixtapes for five years, so this one is very special to me.” The tape features contributions from Cam’ron, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne on the soul-bearing “The Question.” “This song is a real meaningful song to me, man, and I wanted to make sure I got Wayne on something that was heartfelt,” he said of “The Question.” “I got him on a record that I was saying something and not just talkin’ sh–, so this record right here really kinda deals with a question that I’ve been goin’ through in my own head.” Mac is currently out on tour in support of Macadelic, but that didn’t stop him from announcing his next run: the with Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q and Chevy Woods. “It means everything, Mac’s my little homey. It’s good for his fans; it’s good for everybody who’ve been wanting to see us do what we do together,” Wiz told MTV News of the joint summer tour last week while on the set for Maroon 5’s “Payphones” video in L.A. Here’s George Clooney’s pussy that he may or may not actually have sex with because he’s possibly homosexual….you know the kind who doesn’t want to be known as homosexual….because it will make 90 percent of his women fans who fantasize about being the one to tame him, cuz girls love a challenge and think they have what it takes to make any guy settle, relatively uninterested in him, making him way less money….in a Rock Hudson or Steve McQueen wait til they die of AIDS before people need to deal with truth….so he uses hot bitches you want to fuck and Steve-O gets to fuck when he is done with them before dumping them…..making them really feel like they lost the lottery and entered hell….like this Stacy Keibler wrestler, who probably shares a publicist with him, who needed this to keep her around another year, thanks to making the bad decision of dancing with the stars, a nail generally straight in the coffin of your career that was already hardly a career to being with, hence why you were doing Dancing with the Stars in the first place, you know cuz being a pro wrestler for 2 years, was lucrative but where do you really go from there….kinda thing that doesn’t matter cuz she has legs I want to wear as a scarf and a pussy I want to wear as a mouth warmer….you know when Clooney is done making hr fuck him up the ass with a strap in exchange for exposure….I like my bitches at rock bottom….It is more effective.
A couple weeks ago on Twitter, Demi Lovato bared her true face . Now, in the pages of British magazine Fabulous , the singer is baring her soul. In one of her more honest interviews to date, the 19-year old goes into detail about her pre-rehab drug use, telling the publication: “I was depressed. I would come offstage in front of 18,000 people and suddenly be alone in a hotel room. I’d come crashing down and would try to find a way to re-create that feeling, to stay ‘up.'” And you might be shocked to learn who fueled Demi’s habit. “Promoters gave me drugs and alcohol in restaurants or clubs,” she said. “They wanted me to come back so I would be seen there. They were basically kissing my ass.” Lovato, of course, entered a treatment facility in November 2010 and has talked since about her emotional and physical issues, citing an eating disorder and bi-polarity. But this is the first time she’s really discussed any kind of substance abuse. “Being a celebrity can be dangerous. Nobody says ‘no’. That’s why so many end up overdosing and dying. It could definitely have happened to me.” Instead, thank God, Demi has bounced back and her career is going strong. She performed last month on American Idol .
Things get weird on the latest episode, and MTV’s ‘Watching the Thrones’ is ready to dive into it head-on. By Josh Wigler Shadow Baby on “Game of Thrones” Photo: HBO In case you didn’t realize it before, Sunday night’s episode of “Game of Thrones” should have made it quite clear: Westeros can be very, very weird. Think about all the various forms of magic cropping up all over the Seven Kingdoms: the crippled Brandon Stark is able to walk again by way of his wolf dreams. North of the Wall, humanoid monsters with voices like crackling ice exist, with the ability to raise their victims from the dead. And across the Narrow Sea, the first dragons to be born in decades are beginning to grow under the love and care of exiled princess Daenerys Targaryen. And now, on top of all of that, we have … a shadow baby?! Needless to say, episode four of the fantasy series’ second season, “Garden of Bones,” was a strange one. Keep reading for our take on the latest trip to Westeros, and watch the video below for more from our weekly “Watching the Thrones” roundup! Hungry Like the Wolf Robb Stark is a hugely important part of “A Clash of Kings,” the novel upon which season two is based. But his physical presence leaves something to be desired — which is to say, he’s rarely seen in the book, mostly talked about. That’s not the case on “Game of Thrones.” Here, Robb is fully present, as seen in the opening moments of “Garden of Bones.” Robb’s direwolf, Grey Wind, grows stronger with every battle, and Robb’s skills as a tactician and leader of men are improving at the same pace. This latest episode also pulled the curtain back on something not seen in the books, but hugely important to Robb’s character: a little trace of love. But that nurse on the battlefield does not go by the name Jeyne Westerling as she does in the books; indeed, as she presents herself, she’s hardly a noble-born woman at all. Is it just an alias for now, a parlor trick that Jeyne is playing? Or has “Thrones” altered Robb’s love interest in a seriously significant way? The Greatest City in the World Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Qarth! At long last, Dany and her khalasar have reached civilization. And if the people of Qarth are to be believed, Dany has arrived at the greatest city in the world. If you’re a bit skeptical of that claim, that’s more than fair. But even if Qarth as a city doesn’t necessarily live up to the hype (and that itself is up for debate), there are things that happen in Qarth that rank high on the list of all-time greatest “Thrones” moments. Needless to say, Dany has some interesting times ahead of her. The Ghost of Harrenhal Poor Arya Stark. It’s just not getting any better for the little girl forced to live as a little boy. Arya, Gendry and Hot Pie found themselves at the mercy of the Tickler and the Mountain in this week’s episode, watching the pair interrogate their prisoners to death with a disturbingly clever combination of a rat, a bucket and a torch. Not pretty stuff. Even the arrival of Tywin Lannister is hardly a mercy; he’s more civilized than their initial captors, sure, but he’s a Lannister all the same. On the bright side, now Arya has a few more names to add to her people-to-kill list alongside Queen Regent Cersei and her wicked son Joffrey. Draining the Poison Speaking of Joffrey, he’s just getting worse and worse with each episode, if you can believe it. From beheading Ned Stark to threatening Sansa’s life with a crossbow held at point-blank range, Joffrey’s wicked ways seem to know no bounds. And that’s not even the worst of it: The way he made the two prostitutes purchased for him by Tyrion torture each other was absolutely sickening to watch. Joffrey is easily one of the most loathsome characters in all of “Ice and Fire” lore, if not the most loathsome — and believe it or not, he’s even more unlikable on the show. Brutal, brutal, brutal. Shadow Baby! While the latest episode of “Thrones” ended the show’s three-week kid-killing streak , it made up for the combo-breaker by having us witness the priestess Melisandre give birth to a shadow baby. A shadow baby. Clearly, it’s a bit more complicated than that, but it’s strange and horrific to behold all the same. If you ever doubted that Melisandre has magic at her disposal, doubt her no longer. Perhaps she hasn’t backed the right horse in the race for the Iron Throne, but she definitely has formidable power on her side, as Davos can attest to firsthand. As for where that shadow baby’s headed next? Readers of the books certainly know — and if you haven’t read the books, well, keep the Kleenex on hand. You’re going to need it. The fans determine who’ll continue, who gets eliminated and, eventually who earns the title of Greatest Boy Band of All Time . So start voting now to make sure your favorite group advances to round two and beyond. And the bands aren’t just going to stand by while you vote — they’re already campaigning for your support as the the Wanted did in their hilarious video . Voting in round one closes on Thursday at noon ET. The tourney is sure to heat up before the winner is announced on May 7. All right, it’s time to reveal our list of the 32 competing boy bands. Read on as we break down a few key matchups in the first round of competition and sound off on our list on Twitter using the hashtag #BBB! Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Battle of the Boy Bands interactive bracket! Midwest Backstreet Boys vs. Westlife : This will likely be an interesting first-round matchup since these two bands have one thing in particular on their side: longevity. Both groups have been around since the late 1990s, and while Westlife called it quits in 2011, the Backstreet Boys are still going strong, currently on a European tour with fellow boy-banders and tournament finalists, New Kids on the Block. Of course, BSB had worldwide success. Their 1999 album, Millennium, sold more 1 million copies in its first week. And Westlife, originally signed by Simon Cowell, had a hit song in the U.S, “Swear It Again,” and ruled the U.K. charts with 14 #1 singles. Here’s a fun fact: Westlife’s first big break came in 1998 when they opened for the Backstreet Boys at a concert in Dublin. Additional Matchups : O-Town vs. the Jackson 5 98 Degrees vs. the Beatles New Kids on the Block vs. Take That East ‘NSYNC vs. 5ive : Yes, both of these groups consisted of five members, but they actually have more in common than that. In 1998, 5ive embarked on a U.S tour with ‘NSYNC, but soon after, left the tour due to exhaustion. Interestingly, both bands notably decided to call it quits at the peak time of their success. In 2001, 5ive had just released their third album when the lead single, “Let’s Dance,” became their third #1 in the U.K. They soon announced they were calling it a day. Similarly, in 2002, after ‘NSYNC’s second album, No Strings Attached became the best-selling album of the decade, the group released Celebrity, which gave the group three #1 singles. After a tour in support of their third album, they decided to go on a permanent break. Additional Matchups : LFO vs. 112 Jonas Brothers vs. Menudo Hanson vs. BBMak West The Wanted vs. Color Me Badd : It’s not only old versus new in this matchup, it’s pop versus R&B. British boy band the Wanted have had much success overseas and recently found fame Stateside with their hit single “Glad You Came.” The group’s first U.S. EP hits stores on Tuesday and they just released their next track, “Chasing the Sun.” But don’t count out Color Me Badd: Much like The Wanted, this group had success early on in their career. From 1991 to 1992, the group had five hit singles off their debut album, including the smash hit “I Wanna Sex You Up.” Additional Matchups : The Monkees vs. 2gether Big Time Rush vs. All-4-One Boyz II Men vs. Jodeci South One Direction vs. Day 26 : This could be an exciting matchup since the two bands were assembled by two of the most influential minds in music: Simon Cowell and Diddy. British boy band One Direction got their start on the U.K. version of the “X Factor” and quickly took off from there. In March, their debut album, Up All Night, debuted at #1, the first time a U.K. group did so with a debut album . Day 26 also got their start on a television show, MTV’s “Making the Band 4.” In 2008, one year after their formation, the group released their self-titled album on Diddy’s Bad Boy records; it debuted at #1 on the Billboard album chart. Additional Matchups : IM5 vs. B2K NKOTBSB vs. New Edition Another Bad Creation vs. Mindless Behavior Voting is under way in round one of MTV’s Battle of the Boy Bands and closes at noon ET on Thursday, April 26. Winners are determined by fan ballots, so if your favorite band made the cut, keep voting. Tune in to AMTV and MTV Hits daily for boy-band video takeovers. Cam Newton won the NFL’s Rookie of the Year Award last year, but the prolific passer is now after something far more important. An ongoing fan vote to determine who should grace the cover of wildly-poplar video game Madden ’13 is down to the Carolina Panthers quarterback and Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions. And in an attempt to win over the masses, Newton has released a lengthy video, pleading to boys, girls, cat and dogs that he deserves the honor. On what grounds? Cam Newton for Madden ’13 Cover! Well, he’s quite adept at the game, that’s for certain, giving fans a tour here of his multi-screen setup. His nicknames also include “Mr. Swagman” and “Mr. Goes H.A.M.” So he has that going for him. Last season, Peyton Hillis of the Browns covered Madden… and proceeded to produce the worst season of his career. Careful of what you wish for, Cam. Who do you want to see on the cover of Madden ’13?
Screenwriter Releases Audio Of Mel Gibson Expletive Filled Tirade We all knew this guy was off his effin’ rocker, but this isht right chere is cray… Screenwriter Joe Eszterhas says he and his family were house guests of Mel Gibson in Costa Rica last December when the ‘Mad Max’ star went off on a blistering tirade, recorded on an iPhone by Eszterhas ‘ 15-year-old son Nick. Eszterhas provided the audio recording to industry website The Wrap because: “Gibson called me a liar. And I also have some reason to believe he’s creating a PR blitz questioning my truthfulness.” Eszterhas, who wrote the blockbuster “Basic Instinct,” was writing a screenplay for Gibson for a film called “The Maccabees.” The fact that the screenplay had not been completed seems to be one of the things that set Gibson off. “Why don’t I have a first draft of ‘The Maccabees’? What the f**k have you been doing?” he can be heard bellowing on the recording on The Wrap’s website. And it gets worse. Gibson, 56, also screams about Oksana Grigorieva, his ex-girlfriend and mother of his young daughter. “I am earning money for a filthy little c**ksucker who takes advantage of me!” Gibson rants. Eszterhas wrote a scathing, nine-page letter to Gibson in which he accused the actor of “hating Jews” and using “The Maccabees” film project – a story about Jewish heroism — “in an attempt to deflect continuing charges of anti-Semitism which have dogged you, charges which have crippled your career.” “I’ve come to the conclusion that the reason you won’t make ‘The Maccabees’ is the ugliest possible one. You hate Jews,” Eszterhas wrote. “The Maccabees” project was put on hold by Warner Bros. studio, in part due to Eszterhas’ script, The Wrap reported. Gibson has called several of Eszterhas’ assertions “fabrications,” and may sue the writer. The actor is looking into whether Costa Rican laws were violated when he was secretly taped in his home, and if his privacy was violated by the release of the audio, TMZ reports. “The bottom line is it shows to me he badly needs help,” Eszterhas told TheWrap. “My interest isn’t to damage him with this tape but to prevent damage being done to others…. I strongly believe that unless he seeks and receives some kind of psychiatric help, someone is going to get hurt.” Gibson has a long history making racist and anti-Semitic remarks. After a DUI arrest, Gibson exploded that “Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” In a voice mail to Grigorieva he said she would be to blame if she were to be “raped by a pack of n**gers.” Grigorieva was granted a restraining order during their custody battle over daughter Lucia. If you think that’s crazy…listen to this isht!! According to Eszterhas’ letter, Gibson’s rant began unexpectedly, as the guests had gathered for before-dinner drinks, and Gibson happened to look at a photo of himself holding his baby daughter Luci in which he was gray and balding: The letter reads: “You were staring at the photograph of you and Luci, your beautiful little girl … and you suddenly exploded. You hurled your cellphone into a wall and started to scream, ‘I look so f**king old! I look horrible! That f**king whore is destroying me! She’s taking my looks! I hate her! She’s destroying my life!’ “You jumped up, screaming full-throated: ‘Look at me!! F**king look at me! Look how terrible I look! Answer me, God! Why did you turn your back on me!? F**k you! F**k you!’ You stepped a few feet away and screamed into the sky, ‘I’m not gonna take it up the a*s anymore and say, ‘Thank you, your honor!’” Sounds like someone needs a little trip to the mental institution…real talk. The first full day of Tribeca 2012 yielded at least one major highlight, as festival co-founder Robert De Niro and comedy mogul Judd Apatow joined Deadline’s Mike Fleming for a discussion commemorating the 100th anniversary of Universal Pictures. (Fellow Universal blockbustress Meryl Streep, alas, backed out at the last minute due to illness.) At least, that was the plan ; what ensued was a wide-ranging, freewheeling chat about the pair’s work for the studio, the natures of their comedy, varying sequel statuses, and much more. As per Tribeca custom , read on for this years revelations from from De Niro and Co. Without De Niro’s Cape Fear remake, Apatow might not be who he is today “One of first important milestones of my career was [when] I created The Ben Stiller Show with Ben,” Apatow said. “And the sketch that got us picked up was the Cape Fear parody. Have you ever seen that?” “No, I didn’t know that,” De Niro said dryly. “Do you have a lot of friends who want to show you parodies of you, or are they afraid to?” Apatow asked. “Sometimes,” De Niro replied. “So we studied that movie shot-for-shot, and then Ben was dressed up like Eddie Munster,” Apatow explained. ” Cape Munster . That’s how we got the how picked up.” The filmmaker gestured back to the screen, invoking the epic Universal clip reel that opened the event. “The rest I didn’t care for.” De Niro didn’t like The Deer Hunter ‘s poster And according to him, there’s even a better design somewhere out there. “I was given the script by Michael Cimino, and I liked it very much,” De Niro recounted of his first experience on a Universal film. “I even liked the way it was presented. The cover of the script read ‘ The Deer Hunter ,’ and it was a character against a white Cadillac with a deer strapped on to the hood, and he had a shotgun hung over his arm. And I felt it would have been great for the actual poster of the movie instead of the more complicated kind of poster that I didn’t think worked very well.” (Apatow later chimed in: “When The Deer Hunter came out, I was 10 years old. We had the VHS of it, I watched it, and that’s how I became this.”) Neither Apatow nor Universal are about to apologize for Funny People Fleming asked Apatow about the tonal change of pace — and commercial downshift of fortune — that the director experienced with his 2009 film. “I think it’s important for people to make movies that are deeply personal,” Apatow said. “I think you have to be willing to push it, and when you do things that are intimate, there are some people who are like, ‘I was at work all day today, and I don’t give a shit what you’re upset about in your life.’ And there are the people who really want to feel other emotions than just pain or watching the bad guy get beaten. So you’re always going into more difficult territory when the move isn’t about making you happy, but it’s about why comedians are in pain — much like…” Apatow turned to De Niro and paused for dramatic effect. ” The King of Comedy . I’m bringing you into it!” Fleming followed up by asking Apatow what the conversations with Universal were like as the film came together as the challenging piece it was. “In all honesty,” Apatow said, “they loved the movie and were supportive through the entire creative process and when it came out. It’s been an amazing experience for me working with them. They want me to grow and get better at what I do, and part of that is for me to take risks and try new things. And it was never weird. I’ve had weird. I’ve been on planes coming back from the test screening of The Cable Guy . I know what it’s like when people are like, ‘Oh my God. What are we going to do?’ I’m like, ‘It’s great , isn’t it?'” The Bridesmaids sequel is still in limbo “You know, I don’t know,” Apatow said when asked about the status of a follow-up to last year’s Oscar-nominated blockbuster, which he produced. “It took five years to make it; I think there’s some exhaustion from having made it. I think down the line we’ll see if people are reinvigorated to want do it or not. I would like to see a sequel to…” Again, Apatow faced De Niro and hesitated. ” The Deer Hunter .” The Midnight Run sequel may be writing around Charles Grodin The development of the recently announced Midnight Run 2 was thought to hinge heavily on the participation of Grodin, who brilliantly played De Niro’s foil in the 1987 comedy classic. But to hear De Niro tell it, the writers might have an answer for that. “Somebody had approached me — a young writer — and he had said how much he liked it. And he said, ‘What about writing a sequel if you want?’ I said, ‘Fine, sure.’ So it’s been going through these kind of changes. [… De iro’s character Jack Walsh] is helping the son of Charles Grodin. He’s gotten himself in trouble. That’s where we are. The script is being reworked again. But I hope to do it. It was a lot of fun to do.” De Niro always had a feeling he could do comedy Asked about how he transitioned to comic roles from his celebrated dramatic roles of the ’70s, De Niro cited those very same roles as his comedic inspiration. “You know, Taxi Driver had a few funny things in it. Mean Streets , King of Comedy … They weren’t obvious ‘comedies,’ but they were funny. The comedy was out of situations, the irony or whatever.” ” Goodfellas is hilarious!” Apatow half-joked. “I saw it in the movie theater and it just rocked the house!” “Joe Pesci’s scene with Ray Liotta is a hysterical scene, yeah,” De Niro said. ” Analyze This came from Billy Crystal, who had the idea. Billy had a script and thought it’d be fun if I did that. And somebody tod me about it but said they didn’t know. I said, ‘No, it sounds interesting. Let me see. Let’s get together and talk about it. And then we had a reading of it and so on, and figured it out. But I never had a problem thinking I could be funny — especially that kind of character, since he’s bigger than life anyway.” Apatow is all for seeing movies on your phone Surprised? Don’t be: “Anything that allows me to watch a film while going to the bathroom is awesome.” De Niro isn’t totally averse to Raging Bull 2 ” I don’t know about it,” he said to a laugh from the crowd. “I mean… Maybe if it’s a great, great script? Have you read it?” “It’s great,” Fleming said. “Oh,” De Niro replied, tongue mostly in cheek. “Then I’d consider it. Sure.” Apatow’s only acting experience is a… Jack in the Box commercial Asked if he would consider starring in a film, Apatow didn’t hesitate. “I am a bad actor,” he said. “I learned that in a Jack in the Box commercial when I was 20. I was reading the lines, which were about how good the burger was, and I kept pointing to it. I couldn’t stop pointing . And the director of the commercial taped my hands to my legs, and I never acted again.” “But he did hire you?” De Niro asked. “Yes, I got work from here up,” Apatow said, waving his hand above his neck. “Well, that’ll give you something,” De Niro said. “If I was in it for his own amusement, it would have been like a scene from Fame .” Pronto! Jay-Z, Diddy and 50 Cent released “I Get Money (The Forbes 1-2-3 Billionaire Remix)” in ’07, a celebration of their inclusion atop Forbes Hip-Hop Cash Kings list. Five years later, the same three artists are in a more exclusive group – the Forbes Five, a list of hip-hop’s wealthiest moguls – though no longer 1-2-3 in that order. Which of the three earns the most? And who else made the Top 5? Diddy is the closest to becoming a billionaire, with a net worth of $550 million . The Bad Boy Records founder has been a mainstream mainstay for 15 years. Thanks to his knack for self-promotion and outside business deals with Ciroc vodka, Sean John, Enyce, Blue Flame and other tech startups, he gets money. A lot of it. And he’s not even done. Diddy signed a deal with Comcast to launch cable channel Revolt in 2013. He’ll own the channel outright. Cha-ching. Jay-Z is #2 at $460 million . Unlike his fellow Forbes Five members, he still churns out music and goes on tour, most recently with pal Kanye West. He sold his Rocawear clothing label for $204 million in 2007, signed a 10-year $150M deal with Live Nation in 2008, and co-owns the New Jersey Nets. There’s also his 40/40 Club chain, his ad firm Translation, cosmetics company Carol’s Daughter and other businesses too numerous to list. Very rich. Dr. Dre ranks third with $270 million , boosted by the sale of a 51% stake in Beats Electronics – a company he founded with Jimmy Iovine – to HTC. Sources say each owned a third of the company before the deal, placing Dre’s cut at $85 million after taxes. Not a bad addition to his net worth. Birdman , surprisingly clocks in at No. 4 with a fortune of $125 million . He cofounded Cash Money Records with brother Ronald “Slim” Williams. The label’s value soared with the success of rappers Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne (who shares ownership of sub-label Young Money). That’ll do it. 50 Cent and his $110 million rank fifth. The business-savvy Queens-born rapper earned $100 million for his Vitaminwater stake alone in 2007. Fiddy also made tens of millions from touring, record sales and clothing, but spends freely on cars and renovations to his mansion in Connecticut. Still, a nice nine-figure cushion remains from his back catalog, acting gigs and 50 Cent themed videogames, shoes and books, and headphone line SMS. [Photo: WENN.com]
