Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj And Ke$ha ‘Till The World Ends’ Remix Leaks

Reworked tune features an opening verse by Minaj as Ke$ha sings atop Spears’ vocals throughout the song. By James Dinh Britney Spears “Til The World Ends” Photo: Jive Britney Spears isn’t the only pop titan dancing until the world ends: Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha have joined forces to add a new spin on an all-female remix of Femme Fatale ‘s second single, “Till the World Ends.” The reworked dance anthem, which leaked online Friday (April 22), appears to have surfaced earlier than expected as noted by a series of countdowns on all three of the star’s websites . Mixing the dance tune’s original sonic swirls with heavier bass, Britney tourmate Minaj starts off the remix by throwing down an aggressive verse, in which she calls out a female hater: “A-A-A-A-A-AYE!/ Chimpanzees is hatin’, but I take it all in stride/ Put her in a jungle with bananas on the side/ Told you they’d revive your career, but somebody lied/I ain’t talkin’ poultry when I say this chicken’s fried.” After Minaj spits a few introductory bars, Spears delivers the song’s first verse before an introduction for the all-star trio. “It’s Britney, bitch. I’m Nicki Minaj and that’s Ke$ha!” the Young Money MC proclaims. Ke$ha, who originally wrote the track for the pop princess, takes part in singing the club-ready track’s chorus. Spears soon takes back control of the song as Ke$ha shadows the singer’s lines toward the end of the second verse and bridge. Unlike the original version, the “Till the World Ends” remix also features a stuttering dubstep dance break. News of a star-studded collaboration was hinted earlier this week when producer Dr. Luke tweeted , “@NICKIMINAJ killed it tonight!!!! thanks!!!” Have you heard the all-star “Till The World Ends” remix? Kings Of Leon’s ‘Talihina Sky’: All Roads Lead Home

Documentary peels back the lore to reveal a band unquestionably shaped by its roots. By James Montgomery Kings of Leon’s Caleb Followill in “Talihina Sky” Photo: Phear Creative There is perhaps no band whose backstory has garnered as much attention as the Kings of Leon , and with good reason. They are, after all, the prodigal preacher’s sons (and nephew) who tapped into the rebellious power of rock and roll and rose from the backwoods to the big stage, a journey that &#8212 aside from all the sex and drugs and mustaches &#8212 is practically ripped from American folklore. So it would seem almost inevitable that their rise would someday be chronicled in a feature film, one that imbues their career with the spirit of the Holy Ghost and doesn’t skimp on the particulars of all that sex and drugs (and ‘staches). And here it is: “Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon,” a far-reaching documentary that premiered Thursday night at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Directed by longtime Kings friend Stephen Mitchell, produced by Casey McGrath and Phear Creative (and executive-produced by the band itself), “Talihina” is a rock doc in the purest sense of the phrase: full of unedited, unwinding (and frequently un-sober) interviews with the Followill boys (frontman Caleb’s bleary-eyed, Jameson-and-marijuana soaked sitdown is a real doozy); tour-bus shouting matches; honest, teary conversations with their family members and friends and, of course, a whole lot of grainy, slightly embarrassing VHS footage of the Kings as kids. It certainly doesn’t hold anything back. And while, at times, it strays a little too close to deifying the band (or at least their voyage to the top of the charts), it strips away everything you’ve probably read about them, and, in the process, provides the clearest glimpse to date into what makes them tick. In that regard, the film is not only a success, but one of the most compelling music documentaries you’ll ever see. Because no matter how hard the media tries to romanticize their early years, “Talihina” doesn’t. We learn that brothers Caleb, Nathan and Matthew grew up poor, the children of a preacher for whom money was an afterthought and a mother who believed in nothing more than the power of religion. We learn that the boys hated all of those facts, that they suffered when their parents divorced and that they felt betrayed when they learned that their father &#8212 the man they viewed as an infallible totem of morality &#8212 was just another man, one who had demons of his own. To combat that, they turned to their extensive family — no less than six uncles are interviewed in the film, some of whom may not even be their uncles at all — and the solace of annual retreats in Talihina, Oklahoma … long, boozy weekends filled with horseshoe games and crawfish grabbing in ruddy creeks. In the grand American tradition, this is where they learned to be men, or at least learned to approximate what they felt a man should be. Of course, they also found solace in recreational drug use and Pixies records and, from there, the roots of the band took hold. We learn very little about their formation, instead, we’re quickly whisked away to England, where the Kings became overnight sensations (and media curio cases), partying hard, sleeping around and, really, also learning how to be men. That duality makes up the core of not just the film, but the band itself. On one hand, the Kings have never left their roots behind, as evidenced by footage of them attending later Talihina weekends, mixing it up with shirtless cousins and sagging uncles, but on the other, they seem driven to distance themselves from their past. Watching footage of the band recording their breakthrough Only By the Night album, you can’t help but notice just how hard they’re trying to become the hugest rock band on the planet, and in interviews throughout the film, the Kings talk about their past in reverent, yet weary, tones. And yet, they can never escape their history, no matter how hard they try. In a lot of ways, that struggle is what ultimately makes the film so compelling … and what makes you understand the Kings of Leon just a little bit more. They’re down-home boys who are seemingly never home, rock stars whose sentiments have moved millions, despite the fact those sentiments are derived from a place whose population is just 1,200. They have toured the world and lived the life and yet, whether they want to or not, they are eternally drawn back to Talihina. So, really, they’re not folk heroes (or, as Caleb jokes, “I’m not Captain America”), they’re just small-town kids who inexplicably made it big, boys forced to become men because life conspired to make them so, brothers eternally trying to escape the shadow of their parents. They’re just like you or I, if you think about it. Did you check out the Kings’ documentary? Share your reviews in the comments! Kanye West Joins Katy Perry On ‘American Idol’ For ‘E.T.’

Duo play up hit song’s intergalactic theme with laser-heavy performance. By Adam Graham Katy Perry performs on “American Idol” Thursday Photo: FOX Katy Perry transported “E.T.” to the “American Idol” stage Thursday (April 21) and even brought a special guest along with her: Kanye West. The two reprised their recent #1 hit on the “Idol” stage in a pre-taped appearance during the “Idol” results show. The performance kicked off with Kanye’s opening verse piped in via music video, so it was a surprise when the Coachella headliner appeared onstage with Perry later in the song. Perry was carried on to the stage, arms outstretched, by three dancers dressed in alien getups, who hoisted Russell Brand’s better half high above their heads. Perry was decked out in a white, form-fitting bodysuit tricked out with pink LED lights and a long white cape. She wore some sort of futuristic space crown atop her head, making her look like the queen of a far-off pop planet. Green lasers crisscrossed the darkened “Idol” stage as Perry was placed into a throne-like cage, which was carted across the stage by her team of a half-dozen alien dancers. West took the stage in a leather coat accented with a fur overlay and exercised self-censorship on his verse’s “alien sex” line. West and Perry faced off at center stage, moving toward and away from each other to play up the tension between them. In the song’s closing moments, Perry softly caressed West’s cheek before retreating back to her throne, where the lights dimmed and her suit lit up with blinking, zigzagging lights. Perry and West both have a history with “American Idol.” Perry chipped in as a guest judge during the early rounds in season nine, at one point threatening to throw a Coke in Kara DioGuardi’s face, and performed “Waking Up in Vegas” — in an Elvis jumpsuit, no less — on the show during season eight. Earlier that same season, West took to the “Idol” stage to perform “Heartless,” from his 808s and Heartbreak LP, which would later be transformed into a winning performance by that season’s champ, Kris Allen . Stefano Langone Eliminated From ‘American Idol’

Haley Reinhart and Jacob Lusk also land in the bottom three. By Gil Kaufman Stefano Langone on “American Idol” Photo: FOX Wednesday night’s “Music of the 21st Century” wasn’t kind to most of the “American Idol” contestants, but even with a few missteps, host Ryan Seacrest revealed on Thursday’s (April 21) results show that more than 52 million votes were cast for the top seven. After an unrelenting march of early female departures, the remaining two ladies were safe for a second week, though Haley Reinhart did land in the bottom three again, if only for a moment before behind ushered back to safety. That left often-on-the-brink wild card Stefano Langone and Jacob Lusk sweating out their fate by hour’s end. The fourth time, alas, was not a charm for Langone, as his luck finally ran out and Lusk lived to sing another day. Looking like his usual cocky self, Langone smiled and seemed happily resigned to his fate as he watched his highlights package. “It started my career and … you can’t put a price on that,” he said in response to Seacrest’s question about how the show had changed Stefano’s life. He then happily sang Stevie Wonder’s “Lately” one more time, giving the audience another taste of his cruise-ship talents as rocker James Durbin openly wept at the sight of his pal grabbing the mic for the last time. In fact, Durbin couldn’t control his emotions and ran out to bear-hug and spin Langone around as he finished the song before the car-crash survivor was enveloped in a group hug. Earlier in the night, the first two to get the results were Lusk and Casey Abrams, with Seacrest still talking about the spontaneous kiss Casey sprang on judge Jennifer Lopez the night before. Even after the return of his scary-face singing on Maroon 5’s “Harder to Breathe,” Abrams was safe, while Lusk was back in the bottom three after failing to convince viewers with his cover of hero Luther Vandross’ “Dance With my Father.” When Seacrest asked Lauren Alaina, Durbin and Langone to take the long walk, it was no surprise that Langone was back in the bottom three after his tepid take on Ne-Yo’s “Closer,” which meant Alaina and Durbin were safe. And it seemed pretty obvious when Scotty McCreery and Reinhart were the last two to get the news that front-runner McCreery would likely be safe, and he was, meaning once again Reinhart was facing elimination after her good notices for Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.” She wasn’t down long, though, as Seacrest ushered her to safety just moments later. Earlier in the night, Lauren, Haley, Stefano and Jacob sang a version of Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister” to open the show that managed to make the fluffy pop confection even frothier. That was followed by Casey, Scotty and James singing a “Glee”-ky version of Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida,” during which a self-assured Durbin stole the show coming off like the seasoned showman next to a pair of flat amateurs with shaky stage presence. The show also found season-seven winner David Cook coming home to sing his new single, the midtempo rocker “The Last Goodbye,” and Katy Perry taking the stage in a glowing white space suit to sing her hit alien love song “E.T.” with a surprise cameo from fur-decked collaborator Kanye West. Next week, the top six take on the catalog of 1970s pop icon Carole King on Wednesday night and Bruno Mars drops in to perform on Thursday’s elimination show. Demi Lovato Is ‘Forever Grateful’ For ‘Sonny With A Chance’

Star is focusing on music career after leaving treatment for eating disorder and self-mutilation. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato Photo: Jesse Grant/ WireImage On Tuesday, fans were shocked to learn that Demi Lovato would no longer be the star of her hit Disney series “Sonny With a Chance.” She came to the decision after realizing that “being in front of a camera would make me nervous.” The singer recently left a treatment center to deal with some personal issues, including an eating disorder and self-mutilation. Now that Lovato is focused on staying healthy, she is also focusing on the next stage of her career. She took to Twitter late Tuesday to thank her fans for standing by her through her recent personal problems. “Thank you all so much for your support with the decisions I’ve decided to make with my career. I love you guys,” she wrote. ” ‘Sonny’ was a chapter in my life I will be forever grateful for. Thank you all for watching. Can’t wait to see the new format for ‘So Random’!” She even thanked her “Sonny” co-star Tiffany Thornton, who will stay on for the “Sonny” spin-off “So Random.” After Thornton tweeted , “I couldn’t be more proud of the woman you’ve become these past 6 months,” Lovato welcomed the warm words, tweeting back, “I love you so much T. and I miss ALL of you. But I’m especially thankful God gave me our everlasting friendship. Love you!” Lovato officially announced that her time on “Sonny” is over on Tuesday, but she’s been teasing her focus on music for the last few weeks. “Getting a healthy workout in then heading to … the studio,” she wrote last week. And the day before that, she revealed whom she might be hitting the studio with on this next album. “@Timbaland007 for real though … Are you ready?! Idk about you but I believe magic is gonna come out of this collab,” she said. “@Timbaland007 I was ready before I was born!! @Timbaland007 cannot wait!!!” In the past, Lovato has made it clear that she wants to go for a more urban sound on her next album, so working with Timbaland would make sense. “I’m now just taking that next step and learning how to make my music more radio-friendly but also stay very artistic, and for me that’s R&B,” Lovato told MTV News last August. “I can put my vocal stylings on songs that are R&B and it showcases my vocals more than just singing really loud on a rock song.” In fact, Timbaland wasn’t the only A-lister she had on her collabo wish list. “I would love for Drake to be on the album,” Lovato said . “It’s kind of like a pipe dream. I would also like to do a song with Trey Songz. It would be hot! Yeah, it would be really good.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Demi Lovato Related Photos The Evolution Of: Demi Lovato Related Artists Demi Lovato
