Fantasia Says ‘Nobody Was There To Help Me’

‘A lot of times [industry people] are there to get what they can get,’ singer says on ‘Wendy Williams Show.’ By James Dinh Fantasia on “The Wendy Williams Show” Friday Photo: Talk WW Production, Inc It’s been one month since Fantasia’s suicide attempt and it seems the pain of that experience is still fresh. The singer has been steadily promoting her new album, Back to Me, and when she visited “The Wendy Williams Show” on Friday (September 10) she opened up about her recent drug overdose and said many members of her professional entourage had left her side. “At the time, I wasn’t really thinking about anybody,” Fantasia told host Wendy Williams when asked whether she had considered daughter Zion. “Nobody knows how heavy it gets. You see the glitz and the glamour and you think, ‘They got it, they got it all,’ but a lot of times when you come into this industry you have people that say that they are there for you, but a lot of times they are just there to get what they can get or because money is involved,” she said, starting to cry. The single mom revealed that many of her supposed confidants were nowhere to be found during her time of need. “I am 26 years old, and so many times, I’ve looked around and noticed that everybody that started with me is now gone and nobody was there to help me clean it up. So I had to do it all by myself.” Fantasia’s overdose occurred shortly after a lawsuit was filed by the wife of Antwaun Cook against the songstress charging that she had been in an adulterous relationship with Cook. Cook’s lawyer, Nicole Sodoma said the singer was not responsible for breaking up the marriage. “He knew Fantasia Barrino but the failure of his marriage can in no way be blamed on anyone except the two people that were a part of the union — Paula and Antwaun,” Sodoma said in a statement. The singer is focused now on moving past her dark period by speaking openly about her story in an effort to connect with her fans. The “American Idol” alum’s recent LP debuted on the Billboard 200 at #2. What do you think about how Fantasia is handling promotional appearances in the aftermath of her suicide attempt? ‘Jersey Shore’ High Five: Hair Flies And Hate Sex

From a house-wide brawl to Vinny and Angelina’s out-of-nowhere hookup, we recap this week’s episode of ‘Jersey Shore.’ By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Snooki and Vinnie on “Jersey Shore” Photo: MTV When we last left the “Jersey Shore,” the housemates were in the middle of mediating a highly emotional dispute or, as most viewers saw it, getting ready to throw down. Things came to a head after Vinny let JWoww know that Angelina was telling the rest of the gang about Pauly D’s “drunkity” state. Eventually, the issue turned into a smackdown between JWoww and Sammi, who were already giving each other the side-eye over the infamous “anonymous” letter to Sammi (which, we know, was penned by Snooki and JWoww) detailing Ronnie’s conquests. But that was just the first five minutes. Here’s a recap of the biggest moments from Thursday’s “Jersey Shore”: 5. Ferry Love After Vinny called out Angie’s town-crier approach to Pauly’s drunken night, the Staten Islanders spent most of the episode going at each other’s necks. Angelina even laid out her distaste for Vinchenzo at the gelato shop, telling Mike, “He’s not even good-looking, so he needs to jump off the ‘I’m good-looking’ train.” But by the episode’s final cab ride home, guess which two ferry-riders were sucking face in the back seat? Even the dude who laced Angie with a spankin’ new Fossil timepiece didn’t get all that. 4. Snooki the Multitasker Snooks finally got some action! Hurrah! Apparently, she didn’t waste precious bar banter coaxing details from her date and waited instead until they hit the sheets. The late-night canoodling woke up roomie JWoww with a mixture of moans and queries like, “How far you do live from here?” 3. Is Ronnie R. Kelly? Ron-Ron has been pretty much dogging Sammi for most of the season and, of course, the resident “Shore” philosopher Mike served up an insightful assessment of the situation. “He’s been peeing on her, and she’s still with him,” The Situation observed. “This is like when you’re a little kid and you find out Santa Claus is dead.” And everyone knows that finding out Santa died — instead of, you know, never existing in the first place — is way more traumatic. 2. Girlfight JWoww and Sammi didn’t hold back in the epic episode-opening catfight, which, as Ron-Ron put it, was “like putting firecrackers in a Dumpster.” The brawl sent parts of the d

Lady Gaga And Producer Drop Lawsuits Against Each Other

Rob Fusari initially sought $30.5 million arguing the ‘Fame’ singer owed success, in part, to him. By Kelley L. Carter Lady Gaga Photo: George Napolitano/ WireImage The romance is over, and so is the legal action. Lady Gaga and a former boyfriend/music producer Rob Fusari have both dismissed lawsuits filed against each other . The Associated Press reports that court papers filed this week show that Gaga and Fusari have both agreed to drop the dueling suits. Fusari originally filed in March in New York and said he wanted $30.5 million, but the AP reported that it was still unclear on Friday (September 10) whether the two made any financial deal in dismissing both suits. Fusari’s beef with Gaga was that he had helped to launch the pop star’s career, but hadn’t been properly compensated for his effort in the aftermath of their failed relationship. Fusari — who has also worked on Will Smith’s “Wild Wild West” movie theme and Destiny’s Child’s “Bootylicious” — teamed up with the singer back in March 2006. He said it was he who persuaded her to trade in her rock style for dance beats. Fusari and Gaga co-wrote songs such as “Paparazzi” and “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich,” which would appear on her debut album, The Fame, and in the initial lawsuit, he claimed that he transformed the singer born Stefani Germanotta into Lady Gaga, a name adapted from Queen’s “Radio Ga Ga.” Per the lawsuit, Lady Gaga and Fusari’s relationship turned romantic and then became a business partnership in May 2006, when they created a joint venture called Team Love Child, LLC, to promote her career. Fusari’s share was 20 percent, according the agreement. Gaga may have been compelled to drop the suit to focus on her current success: She’s up for an astounding 13 Moonmen at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards , airing live on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Bozell Column: Charlie Daniels, Unsung Singing Hero

In recent years I’ve come to know Charlie Daniels personally, enough so that I can say with confidence that this man just isn’t looking for tributes. But for all that Charlie has done for this country and its fighting men and women, he deserves every honor that comes his way. It was some thirty years ago when I first caught a Charlie Daniels concert.  He was the back-up to the Marshall Tucker Band at the old Capital Centre outside Washington DC, and that night, he stole the show. When he finished his blazing set the audience erupted and brought him back for an encore. When the Marshall Tucker Band finished their rather good performance, it made no difference: the capacity crowd roared for yet another performance from Charlie Daniels. It’s a metaphor for his life. At a time when he should, deservedly be disappearing into the shadows, he’s back – with the crowd roaring once again.  Despite recovering from a stroke and nearing his 74th birthday, Charlie still plays about 100 concerts a year, including Sean Hannity’s “Freedom Concerts” to benefit the children of our fallen and disabled U.S. soldiers through Ollie North’s Freedom Alliance. So much has Charlie become ingrained in the “Freedom Concerts” (he performed in all eight shows this year) and in the effort to support our military worldwide that he deserves his own tribute. He is America’s unsung singing hero. It would be nice if patriotism were in style in the music industry. It is so in the country music universe but in other circles there is no quicker way to become a pop culture pariah than following this path. Months after 9/11, ABC anchor Peter Jennings scratched out country singer Toby Keith from an Independence Day special because his songs were deemed too “mean” in their anger at our attackers. NBC put on country singer Steve Earle to sing sympathetically about American Taliban fighter John Walker Lindh and his prayers for martyrdom. The Dixie Chicks publicly declared their embarrassment with President Bush for his declaration of war against terrorism and were hailed by the elites. That’s what one does to earn accolades. In recent years I’ve come to know Charlie Daniels personally, enough so that I can say with confidence that this man just isn’t looking for tributes. One gets the feeling that at his age, having accomplished so much, he just doesn’t need them. He does it because he loves America and wants to honor the military by performing at the “unique and heartwarming” Freedom concerts to entertain crowds full of “hard-working, God-fearing patriotic folks, the salt-of-the-earth middle Americans who have fought our wars, raised good citizens, and kept the wheels of progress moving forward in this nation for over 200 years.”  “Patriotism to me is always in style, but now – especially now – we need a little shot in the arm,” he says.  He remembers that it can take a catastrophe to make people remember their common national bond: “9/11 was definitely a wakeup call to everybody about our country and about how precious it is – about what can happen here and what did happen here. It never happened here before, and it showed we’re a lot more vulnerable than we used to be. So as we go along, we forget about those pictures of the planes crashing into the trade towers and all the things that went on that day.” In 2006, CBS “Early Show” weatherman Dave Price asked him why at his age he was performing for soldiers in Iraq. Charlie’s answer was precious: “I can’t carry a gun…you know, I can’t fight, but I can darn sure carry a guitar and pick, so that’s why I’m here.” On CBS last year, Price recalled, “With all the great acts that are generous enough to give their time, when Charlie Daniels steps in front of these soldiers and sailors and Marines, it’s like… unreal.” The Charlie Daniels Band has performed for U.S troops all over the world, not just in Iraq, but everywhere from Germany and Bosnia to South Korea to Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Their brand-new album, “Land That I Love,” underlines a strong theme in Charlie’s music. That’s a snapshot of his career, an apt description of a love affair with his country that Charlie Daniels has expressed in music for over a half-century.     Daniels was welcomed into the Grand Ole Opry Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville in 2009. The Opry honor was announced while he was working for charity again, picking and fiddling for the Christmas For Kids benefit at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Martina McBride walked on stage with a small gift box containing the honor. But Charlie has brought a much larger basket of gifts to this country and its fighting men and women. He deserves every honor that comes his way. Those of us who can consider Charlie Daniels a friend are honored that way.

Rich Cronin’s Former LFO Bandmates Continue Their Music Careers

Brad Fischetti and Devin Lima have both stayed in the business since band split up in 2002. By Gil Kaufman LFO Photo: Arista After his band’s spotlight faded, LFO singer Rich Cronin, who passed away Wednesday , spent his time writing songs for other singers and appearing on VH1’s 2007 reality show “Mission: Man Band,” in which he tried to revive his career alongside some other boy band veterans. But what became of Cronin’s fellow Lyte Funky Ones? A day after Cronin died at the age of 35, former LFO member Brad Fischetti spoke to spoke to Entertainment Weekly . “He was one of the funniest people on the planet,” said Fischetti, who was hoping to mount a tour with Cronin and third member Devin Lima later this year as a follow-up to a successful set of reunion shows in 2009. “Nobody could tell a story like Rich. He used to say, ‘Never let a few facts get in the way of a good story.’ ” Fischetti recalled the day in 2005 when he found out Cronin had leukemia, and how the “Summer Girls” singer/songwriter thought he’d never be able to perform again. “None of us thought we’d ever be on the stage again as LFO,” said Fischetti. “He fought hard, man. He beat leukemia twice. And beat a stroke. He was a fighter.” Fischetti has kept a low profile since LFO split up in 2002, preferring to remain behind the scenes and nurture new talent through his label 111 Records . He did record a solo album, Sari , in 2007; at the time he described its sound as a mix of Coldplay, David Bowie, Pink Floyd and Radiohead. 111 has released albums by former LFO bassist Dan Walters, Kiernan McMullan, the Spill Canvas, Canon, Inkwell, the Windupdeads and Rookie of the Year. Fischetti said the reunion tour last summer reminded him of the special bond the trio had during their late-’90s peak. Cronin was weakened by chemotherapy, a stem-cell transplant and a stroke that left him with such severe leg pain that Fischetti and Lima had to help the singer get dressed before shows and carry him on stage. But the tour was still a highlight. “He was so happy,” Fischetti said. “We really became soul mates. Devin and I both realized how much we loved him, despite the differences we had in the past. In New York City at the Highline Ballroom, he thanked the crowd at the end of the show. I’ll always have that voice in my mind, because it was such a sincere thank you. Really, that’s the memory that’s sticking out in my brain.” Lima released his first solo track in 2006, a cover of the Sly & the Family Stone song “If You Want Me To Stay” for the tribute album Different Strokes by Different Folks . Though it caused some head-scratching at the time, it led to him performing in a tribute to Stone on the 2006 Grammy Awards alongside Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Maroon 5, Joss Stone, John Legend and will.i.am. Lima released Mozart Popart , his first album with his band Cadbury Diesel, in 2008. The disc helped push Lima past the bubblegum tunes of his past, thanks to the rock and roll feel of songs like “Hangin’ With You” and the soulful R&B tune “Me Veda.” Fischetti and Lima are currently collaborating on a new hip-hop project called The Xiles . They released a Christmas EP last year and revealed in December that they’d already begun recording their debut album, American Genie: Volume 1 . Related Artists LFO (Lyte Funky Ones)

Megan Fox’s Married Ass of the Day

Megan Fox is an idiot….just another one of those starlets who let their fame get to their head. Now she thinks she can have a career despite being married. Next thing you know she’ll think she can have a career despite being pregnant. Then she’ll think she can have a career despite having a kid and a sloppy mom body. When really we only cared about her cuz we thought she was young and hot. Now we have to come to terms with the fact that she’s also a loser, who partnered up with a has been from 90210 fame, but based on her career, I think we already have. Don’t worrry, there are a million Megan Fox type chicks out there. She is easily replaced. I just like to monitor the slow plunge into obscurity…cuz there was a time when I’m sure she thought she had the fucking world in the palm of her hand…and I like reality checks…especially in the form of lowering themselves to do sex tapes…when just two years earlier they were too good and important to even go topless. What a fucking joke of a person… Bonus – Here is a half naked picture of her in a recent issue of Elle….

Rihanna Shitty Barely Suggestive Promo Pictures of the Day

I hate Rihanna. I don’t know why. I just know there was a day that I saw her on TV and I realized she was nothing by a whore who didn’t embrace the fact that she was a whore but who instead pretended to be a popstar…in some identity crisis that ust made me hate her. Here is her weak attempt to get noticed cuz she knows people don’t give a fuck about her anymore and that her career is on the downward spiral into a drug overdose. I expect more hustle for a teenage prostitute….. This picture was taken to be attached to her new single… To Hear Her Shitty New Single – Follow This Link GO I am the first to admit that every once in a while, these shitty commercial songs that the record companies pretty much shit out on the daily cuz they know they will sell, actually produce a catchy song that I sing along to despite how homosexual that makes me. I can’t think of any specific examples because I have a bad memory, but I do know that this trash is not one of those songs. This is just another nail in the coffin of Rihanna’s career. The end is near for this cry baby…and the only tragedy in all this is that Chris Brown didn’t follow through with what he started back when he choked her out.

Miley Cyrus and Ashley Greene in See Through Shirts of the Day

The biggest news in teenage wet dreams is that Miley Cyrus and Ashley Greene are filming a movie together. Ashley Green is attaching herself to anything that has seen success, and riding it’s coattails as hard as she can, and Miley is just being her slutty self….giving Ashley Greene something to follow, since she’s doing whatever it takes to stay relevant… So yesterday, these idiots faked a kiss for attention….. and in keeping up their attention whore strategy to get noticed and talked about, because they want the world to think their average at best pussies are the hottest pussies around, they figured they’d milk the shit today by wearing see through shirts and leather pants… I think Miley is the push Ashley Greene needed to sex it up, because prior to this movie role, she was boring as fuck, even though she was getting huge attention. Not that I care. Sure they are just messing with us…but there’s always hope that things will go too far and a sex tape will be released. I know younger girls and 80 percent of them have masturbated with their female friends before turning 18… Enjoy their scam.

Holly Madison’s Twitter Tits of the Day

I don’t think you should get excited or even notice when a useless Playboy whore is showing off her stupid fake tits in a bikini. It’s like bitch is known for being naked, before distracting us from that by getting her own TV show….but the core of her is the fact that she gets naked for money…and the core of Playboy is booking this stripper looking girls with fake tits…like it was the fucking 1990s…when we’ve all moved on from that fantasy… I am mad at myself for posting this obvious attempt to get twitter followers…even though when bitch is a fucking slut who gets naked for money and she’s not getting naked for her fans when it’s her job…she’s failed…. These should be pictures of her giving a pussy puppet show like the whore she is….and I’m not just saying that cuz I think all girls are whores….she’s pretty much proven it by everything about her career….but I got nothing better to put pictures of so here it is…
