Last Night on 30 Rock: Sky Law

As good as the season finale of 30 Rock was — and as winningly charming and funny as Matt Damon wound up being — there was something unavoidably disappointing about the whole thing. Because Liz Lemon’s new boyfriend — the seemingly perfect-for-her pilot, Carroll — is played by_ Matt Damon_, you know it isn’t going to end well. And that’s too bad. If there is one problem with the parade of famous guest stars on 30 Rock , it’s just that: They’re famous guests . Like Matt Damon is going to stop making movies to spend the rest of his career rubbing Liz Lemon’s “disgusting foot secret?” No, of course he’s not.

The rest is here:

Megan Fox ‘Transformers 3’ Replacement Options: An Evaluation

We take a closer look at the names floating around to step into Fox’s shoes. By Eric Ditzian Gemma Arterton Photo: Dave M. Benett/ Getty No sooner did news break that Megan Fox had parted ways with “Transformers 3” than the rumor mill started to churn with possible replacements for the displaced 24-year-old actress. Both TheWrap.com and AintItCoolNews.com have published reports from unnamed sources floating names of potential new love interests for Shia LaBeouf, from Gemma Arterton to Bar Refaeli to Zoe Saldana. So which one is the best fit? Let’s run down the list and see. Gemma Arterton Pros : The Wrap contends she’s the front-runner. Makes sense, in that she’s not only drop-dead gorgeous, but has experience with big-budget action flicks. In April, she appeared in “Clash of the Titans,” and her starring turn in “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” will hit the big screen later this month. Cons : Blockbuster fatigue. Will she be eager to dive into a third mega-budget production? And will audiences want to keep seeing the same actress in blockbuster after blockbuster? Bar Refaeli Pros : There’s no doubting the Israeli-born Sports Illustrated swimsuit model has what Bay desires in terms of looks. And perhaps boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio can give her some acting tips. Cons : She has next to no experience. Her sole film credit is as the star of a small, upcoming psychological thriller called “Session.” Zoe Saldana Pros : She’s beautiful, a first-rate actress and has no problem kicking ass on the big screen. Cons : Like Arterton, Saldana already has two big franchises on her r

Megan Fox: Out of Transformers 3

Megan Fox will not play a role in Transformers 3 . In related news, THG will no longer be seeing Transformers 3 . Following reports that the movie studio and director Michael Bay planned to cast another actress as Shia LaBeouf’s love interest in the film, Fox’s rep quickly released a statement and said departing the franchise was his client’s choice. “Megan Fox will not be starring in Transformers 3 ,” the rep said. “It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best.” Will you miss Megan Fox in Transformers? Fox and Bay do have a contentious history: the actress compared the director to Hitler last year. Seriously . The third movie in the Transformers franchise is scheduled for a July 2011 release. If Fox wants to be taken seriously as an actress, it’s not a bad idea to focus her career on more serious fare anyway. Or just go the opposite direction and star in soft core porn. We’d advise the latter. The actress will next be seen in Jonah Hex , an action flick that also features Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Will Arnett. The photo above is courtesy of the movie. Call us crazy, but we think it will do well.

Katy Perry’s Evolution: Teen Church Singer To Teenage Dream

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards performer has come a long way since her Nashville days. By James Montgomery Katy Perry Photo: John Parra/ WireImage Katy Perry’s journey to the top of the pop world actually began in a far different place: Nashville, Tennessee. The daughter of pastors, she spent her early years singing in churches, then went to Music City as a fresh-faced 15-year-old looking to score a record deal. In the years that followed, it’s been a pretty amazing ride, one that doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon. On August 24, she’ll release the follow-up to One of the Boys, Teenage Dream, and she’s already got a brand-new single — the beach-ready “California Gurls” — that’s burning its way up the charts. She’s also just been confirmed as a performer at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards . It’s looking like 2010 is going to be a very big year for Perry. So, before things get too hectic, we figured now would be a good time to take a look back at just how far Perry’s come. In her own words, here’s how she evolved from gospel-singing teen to chart-dominating, girl-kissing pop sensation. From California to Nashville (And Back Again) Born in Santa Barbara, California, Perry headed to Nashville in early 2000 with dreams of landing a recording contract. “When I was 14 or 15, I started going to Nashville, Tennessee, to start recording gospel songs and be around amazing country music veterans and learn how to craft a song and play guitar,” Perry said. “I have definitely grown up and changed a lot.” After failing to make an impact in Nashville, she changed her last name from Hudson to Perry, moved back to her native California and teamed up with famed producer Glen Ballard, eventually scoring a deal with Island Records. Perry got to work recording an album that, as it turned out, would never see the light of day. But the fire had clearly been lit. For the next seven years, she’d grind it out, bouncing between labels and writing partners, making cameos in music videos and, finally, hitting it big in 2008 with “I Kissed a Girl,” the first official single from her One of the Boys album. And the rest, as they say, was history. “I came from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles. With a wonderful producer named Glen Ballard, who brought me out here and kinda looked out for me for three years,” she explained. “After being signed and dropped, signed and dropped, signed and dropped by a couple different record labels whose names I will withhold, Capital Records picked me up.” Kissing a Girl (And Liking It) As she said, Perry spent most of the mid-2000s bouncing between labels and teaming with a host of top-notch songwriters. In 2007, she finally found a home at Capitol Records and began working with the team of Dr. Luke and Max Martin, who helped her craft what would become her breakout hit: “I Kissed a Girl,” a tune that topped the Billboard Hot 100 for seven straight weeks and, in the process, turned Perry into a bona fide pop sensation. Other singles followed, and they were hits too, but Perry wasn’t content to rest on her laurels. Instead, she began looking toward the next phase of her career … not surprising for a girl who had worked so hard to get to this point. “For me in this past year and a half, I think some people have an idea of who I am or a little piece of the cake, but I get to show off,” she said. “I am really excited to be ever evolving and changing with my look, my music. It keeps me entertained as well. The next record will be very pop.” A California Gurl With Teenage Dreams Perry spent a good chunk of 2009 working on the follow-up to One of the Boys, teaming up once again with Dr. Luke and Max Martin. Teenage Dream is inspired by Ace of Base and roller-skating jams, Perry said, and the first single is a triumphant slice of summertime pop called “California Gurls,” an ode to her past and her future. “It’s so exciting [the album] is coming out this summer. It’s a summer record. It’s what I said I wanted earlier. I finally got it. We nailed it,” Perry beamed. “There might be some really cool guest’s appearance. Some rappers from the West Coast, since I am a California girl, you know.” So, with an almost certain second smash on her hands — not to mention a very high-profile wedding to comedian Russell Brand looming on the horizon — where does Perry go from here? Even she’s not sure just yet. But she knows that whatever she does, it’ll be big. “I feel like bit of a volcano,” she said. “I’m ready to explode with all of these new songs. I have a different perspective, and I changed a lot.” What would you say is the highlight of Katy Perry’s career so far? Share your thoughts in the comments. Kendra Wilkinson’s Sex Tape Preview Pics of the Day

I know someone who has seen this sex tape. He said it is good amateur shit with good sex but unfortunately it stars Kendra Wilkinson. The tape is going to hit in two weeks. It is going to be as big as the Paris Hilton, Pam Anderson, Kim Kardashian tapes….unfortunately….and it’s totally a staged sex tape release cuz bitch now has a kid and her career of being a barely hot, fake tan, fake hair, fake everything chick who gets naked who prostituted herself to Hef when he was trying to re-invent Playboy cuz it was going bankrupt and dating the bitches in it seemed like a good idea….an idea that would have made this sex tape better, you know if half of it was spent getting Hef up into bed after feeding him his apple sauce… Either way, here are some preview pics…Enjoy, not because they are Kendra but because they are an 18 year old, and an 18 willing to fuck on camera, no matter who she’s become or how pathetic she is now, is still an 18 year old on camera… Check out Vivid for the updates….

Robert Pattinson And Adam Lambert Talk Fame On ‘Ellen’

‘I don’t think my friends have seen ‘Twilight’ yet,’ RPattz says of keeping his pre-fame friends around. By ‘I don’t think my friends have seen ‘Twilight’ yet,’ RPattz says of keeping his pre-fame friends around. MTV News staff Robert Pattinson on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday Photo: Warner Bros. Ellen DeGeneres had a double bill of People ‘s Most Beautiful stars on her show Wednesday (May 19), as she welcomed Robert Pattinson and Adam Lambert to her studio. RPattz talked “Eclipse” and was groped by an enthusiastic fan during a segment called “Pattin’ Pattinson,” while Lambert chatted about “Idol” and busted out his single “If I Had You.” First up came everyone’s favorite vampire for a ridiculously sustained round of applause from the studio audience. He was all smiles, quite the contrast to his overhyped reputation as a brooding Hollywood star. But, as Pattinson explained, his public visage has nothing to do with a gloom-and-doom attitude. “I just like doing things where you have a little time to think about what you’re saying,” he said. “I’ve always had a problem actually thinking before I open my mouth.” Give Pattinson credit for staying true to himself rather than getting swept away by his ever-growing fame. His friends help him stay grounded. “My friends are exactly the same,” he said. “I don’t think my friends have seen ‘Twilight’ yet.” One fan who definitely has seen “Twilight” — multiple times, no doubt — is the lucky “Ellen” audience member who took part in the “Pattin’ Pattinson” game, in which she was blindfolded and had to feel up three different men (one of whom was RPattz) and try to guess which one was the vampire star. “I get to touch him!” she squealed. And touch him she did. A lot. Alas, she didn’t make the right pick. Pattinson, for his part, just seemed thankful that the whole thing was over quickly. Next out came Lambert, just hours before the new season of “American Idol” is set to finalize its top-two finalists . The singer was in that exact same position last year, and as he told Ellen, any pressure he felt then was nothing compared to what he’s experienced since leaving the show. “To be honest, going into my career, this is a lot more work than that was,” he said. “Being a recording artist, touring, promos, visiting radio stations. I’m having a blast, but it’s a full-time job. On ‘Idol,’ I was singing one day a week.” Later in the show, Lambert came back out for an energetic performance of his newest single, “If I Had You,” a tune he said is about “connection and love.” “It’s talking about how fame and fortune and all the material things that come with this lifestyle don’t mean anything if you don’t have that love and that connection,” he said. “And I think it’s such an awesome message to put out into the world.” Who is your favorite of the hotties on “Ellen”: RPattz or Glambert? Let us know in the comments! Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Conan O’Brien To Launch His TBS Show November 8

‘The plot to ‘Lost’ is more plausible than my last year at NBC,’ O’Brien quips during announcement. By Eric Ditzian Conan O’Brien performs on his “Legally Prohibited” tour Photo: Michael Buckner/ Getty images In the end, Conan O’Brien will have been gone from the airwaves for 289 days: the time between his final “Tonight Show” episode and the launch of his TBS late-night program . O’Brien’s new show will debut Monday, November 8, according to multiple news reports . The announcement was made at the TBS upfront presentation Wednesday (May 19) at the Hammerstein Theatre in New York City. O’Brien himself was on hand for the event, cracking jokes and even breaking into song. “The plot to ‘Lost’ is more plausible than my last year at NBC,” he quipped at one point. “I really believe in cable television,” he continued. “I do not want to live in a country with less than five ESPN networks.” The floppy-haired comedian also busted into a revamped version of Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” changing the lyrics to croon, “I just want to be on my own show again.” Not for 173 more days, CoCo! That his new show will air on TBS , rather than Fox, came as a huge surprise to even media insiders when it was announced in April. O’Brien’s reps were deep in negotiations with Fox until the talk-show host made a stunning reversal and decided to take his talents to cable. The show will air Mondays through Thursdays at 11 p.m. ET/PT. “Lopez Tonight,” which currently airs at 11 p.m., will shift to midnight. “Conan has been the comedic voice for a generation,” Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks, said at the time. “TBS already has a huge audience of young comedy lovers, and Conan’s show will give these fans even more reasons to watch our network.” During Wednesday’s upfront, Conan joked to his new boss, “Steve, thanks for the blank creative check … you fool!” Will you watch Conan’s TBS show? The City Recap: Whitney Port’s French Kiss-Off

Whitney Port’s dating history on the The City has been suspect to say the least. Jay Lyon? That hairy freeloader acted like he was “putting that on lockdown” when really he just needed a place to stay before he left with his band on tour. Freddie Fackelmayer ? That dude was pretty harmless, but a colossal douche. Last night, Whitney was looking for inspiration for her look book, and confides that the photographer for her line shoot suggested getting together for a drink. The French photographer. Poor Whitney Port . Can’t resist the foreign hotties. Meanwhile, Olivia and Erin clash at work! Color us shocked! Read on for THG’s plus-minus recap of last night’s The City episode, “Queen of Diamonds” … NOT POKER FACE : Whitney wears her emotions on her sleeve . We’ll start with Whitney’s date attire. That glittery striped silver sweatshirt thing? We’ve seen better. Minus 2 . But Plus 2 because it wasn’t straight up skanky. In meeting Jonathan for said drink, Port is surprised when he arrives on his motorcycle … Plus 8 . He says he liked her designs and the shoot went well. Plus 3 . Whitney asks if wants to shoot her lookbook and he says yes. Mmm . Minus 4 , because this will inevitably blur the business/pleasure line and not end well for Whit. Joe Zee gathers the Elle team to discuss the Fergie cover, and asks Olivia to stay behind. Plus 11 when he says, accurately, that her work needs to be consistent. Back in New York, Olivia Palermo showcases her “strength” and helps editor Alexis choose Fergie’s jewelry for the shoot. Plus 1 for paying her dues, we guess. JOB WELL DONE? Some people briefly said this about Olivia Palermo! Erin Kaplan tells Joe that picking out a necklace is “not enough.” Not remotely. Plus 7 , because somebody’s gotta call her out and drill it into Joe’s head. Joe says Olivia’s diamonds made the cover, but naturally Erin thinks it was Fergie and the whole outfit that sold it. Yeah, but Minus 3 for the obvious bias. Oh, but wait! The final cover of Fergie is a shot of her not wearing jewelry. Joe says Erin was right. Plus 30 for Erin finally sticking it to her painful nemesis. Whitney tells Roxy she had a good time with Jonathan but not that good. Minus 9 for getting into the awkward situation of accepting his help, then … Whit drops the “I don’t have time for a social life” bomb, i.e. the career-girl version of “It’s not you it’s me.” Weak. If you want to, you make it work. Minus 15 . TOTAL: +26. SEASON: -83 .

Nas, Damian Marley Bring Political Distant Relatives Tour To NYC

Duo joined by Evil Genius Green Lantern for socially conscious show. By Shaheem Reid Lyrically, Nas has been at a higher altitude than his peers since the beginning of his career. His verbal achievements have become legendary. While admittedly, Nas sometimes has questionable beat selections, the Queensbridge native’s words have been so piercing that the guy can frankly get away with rapping over anything. And he has. Last year when Esco announced that he would be following up his album Untitled with a duet LP with a star outside of genre, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley , some of his fans didn’t know what to think. But if there is anyone who could actually pull it off, it’s Nas. Certainly there would be way more public pushback if, say, a Jay-Z, Eminem, T.I. or Young Jeezy would have set out on such an audacious musical venture. But with Nas, you know his spirit is free, and even in his mid-30s, the timeless mic king is almost as rebellious as when he was a 20-year-old kid fresh out of the Queensbridge projects. Last night, Nas and Jr. Gong touched down at New York’s Highline Ballroom for the second show of their Distant Relatives tour (the trek started this weekend in Chicago). The messages in the music steer clear of materialistic jargon and partying — the duo pushed thought provocation on worldwide subjects. Nas brought one of the great DJs in hip-hop, the Evil Genius Green Lantern. Marley came with his band, including backup singers, as well as a flag bearer who proudly and tirelessly waved the colors of Jamaica throughout the show. “What happened to us?” Nas rapped with force on “Tribes at War,” performed at the top of their set. “Geographically they moved us, from Africa/ We was once happiness pursuers/ Now we backstabbin’/ Combative and abusive/ African and Arab go at it, they most Muslim/ We should be movin’ in unison.” “Ancient People” came next, with Nas checking his BlackBerry while on the mic. Either he had an urgent text message or he couldn’t remember his lines, but nevertheless, Esco kept going. “Nah Mean” followed, with the Distant Relatives duo asking President Obama what he could do for them. From there, it was vintage Nas. The supreme MC went into some vintage material, including “Nas Is Like,” “Represent” and “Hip-Hop Is Dead.” “I hate the radio!” Nas yelled on the latter. “F— the radio.” Nas shouted out the Jamaican forefather of hip-hop, Kool Herc, and at the end of “If I Ruled the World” gave love to Guru. “My man Guru, he walks,” Nas said as his background singers sang, “we’ll walk right up to the sun. Hand in hand.” “This one’s about leaders,” Marley sang, from one of the album’s highlights, “Leaders.” “Let’s all change the world.” “The odds stacked against him/ He fights back Mac and Benzes/ Never puts cash or ass before a friendship/ He laughs last/ As some die young, he is still existing/ Somehow he got around the pitfalls of the system/ When he walks, we watch/ When we talks, we listen/ Leaders.”

Bret Michaels To Appear On Live ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Finale

Poison singer is competing against actress Holly Robinson Peete on Sunday’s show. By Gil Kaufman Bret Michaels on “Celebrity Apprentice” Photo: Ray Tamarra/Getty Images A few days before Bret Michaels is scheduled to play his first concert since a brain hemorrhage landed him in the intensive care unit, the Poison singer will appear on next Sunday’s finale of “The Celebrity Apprentice.” Michaels made the cut on Sunday night’s (May 16) edition of the show — taped several months ago — which paved the way for him to make his comeback on this week’s live finale, where he will go head-to-head with actress Holly Robinson Peete. “I came in here as a complete underdog,” Michaels said after getting the news on the show. “You know what everyone’s mistake was? They so underestimated me!” Michaels made the cut after Sharon Osbourne, chef Curtis Stone and model/wrestler Maria Kanellis were eliminated. Michaels has been competing on “Celebrity Apprentice” in support of his chosen charity, the American Diabetes Association. The singer, who was diagnosed as a child with Type 1 diabetes, was first sidelined on April 12, when he was rushed to a hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Ten days later, he suffered a brain hemorrhage that kept him in the intensive care unit for two weeks. After making rapid progress, though, Michaels is in the midst of intensive physical rehab and announced last week that he will make his live return at the Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, Mississippi, on May 28. He is also reportedly set to begin a tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd on June 10 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Before any of that, though, Michaels will pay a visit to “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Wednesday to discuss his recent health travails.
