UPDATE: Carmelo Anthony Is One Step Closer To Becoming A New York Knick!

Looks like Melo may just get his wish, and Amare Stoudemire’s wish too… With the Nets having yet to get Carmelo Anthony’s approval to complete a trade with the Nuggets, the Knicks jumped back in the hunt for Anthony yesterday with a strong counter-offer that would cost them three key players, according to multiple sources, while finally getting Denver’s full attention. With the belief Anthony will approve a Nets’ deal as only a last resort, the Knicks and Nuggets engaged in extensive talks yesterday and have bridged a considerable gap, with Knicks owner James Dolan leading the push behind the scenes as the Hollywood suspense lingered into the night. The Nuggets could accept the package today or tomorrow, according to a Knicks official… …”Jim Dolan definitely wants Carmelo Anthony in New York,” said Amar’e Stoudemire, who doubted Anthony wants to be a Net. The Knicks have offered Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Eddy Curry’s expiring contract for Anthony, Chauncey Billups and possibly Anthony Carter. Yahoo! Sports first reported the deal’s main ingredients. It’s a proposal the Nuggets are seriously weighing, partly because of Anthony’s wariness on approving a Nets deal, a Knicks source said. A Knicks source said there are “other elements involved” in why they made such a strong offer. It stems from the belief that if they nail Anthony now, point guard Chris Paul — who, like Anthony, is represented by CAA — will follow when he’s a 2012 free agent and Billups’ contract expires. Stoudemire said he believes Anthony will turn down the Nets. “I’d be very surprised,” Stoudemire said. “It’s hard for me to picture him in a Nets jersey. It’s a tough situation for him.” “We played in New Jersey, it was like a home game for us, which was great. Most players would want to play with the Knicks before New Jersey.” Anthony said he would like to meet with Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov in addition to Dolan, but that may not take place if Denver accepts the Knicks’ pitch. “I would love to sit down with Mr. Prokhorov, Mr. Dolan,” Anthony said. “I would love to sit down, look them in the eye and see what the future holds. I wan to see if Dolan is really interested in me coming to New York and see if Prokhorov is interested in me coming to Jersey.” Stoudemire wants to see Anthony in a Knicks uniform. Good luck Melo! Carmelo Anthony trade rumors

Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony leaves the court following an NBA basketball game against the Orlando Magic Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, in Denver. Any other time, Carmelo Anthony’s(notes) balky right knee might draw more attention. Instead, the nagging injury took a back seat to a much bigger and broader question: Does the All-Star still want to be a member of the Denver Nuggets? Following a four-game road trip, Anthony insisted it was good to be home— even if he has no idea how much longe

Taye Diggs Remembers Making Poop Song On ‘When I Was 17’

‘Private Practice’ star recalls creating impromptu joint about feces on episode premiering Saturday at 11 a.m. By Mawuse Ziegbe Taye Diggs Photo: MTV News Taye Diggs has built a reputation as a Hollywood heartthrob, lighting up the screen in everything from “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” to “Brown Sugar.” But when the actor was 17, he was less of a hunk and more of a ham, constantly cutting up with his friends. “When I was 17, we were all performers. Wherever we were, we would always try to put on some kind of a show,” he remembers on the latest episode of “When I Was 17,” which also features Naya Rivera from “Glee” and NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony, premiering Saturday at 11 a.m. “They were always, always making up songs and singing them and joking around,” Diggs’ brother Gabriel recalls. One time, Diggs and his pals turned someone else’s crappy luck into a catchy tune. “I remember one time there was a fire drill, and me and my boy Shane saw this dude step in some dog doo,” he says. “We laugh … and then, right then, somebody drops a beat.” Shane recreates the beat, flapping and pursing his lips, before continuing the story: “Then [Diggs] joined in, “corn feces!” “And then it just breaks into a whole song,” Diggs recalls of the ditty’s inexplicable development. Then Shane breaks down the joint’s loopy lyrics for viewers: “I was walking down the street, rocking to the beat/ Clapping my hands and stomping my feet/ Look at the ground and what do I see?/ Corn feces staring right at me. Corn feces!” For Diggs, who was 17 in 1988, the impromptu, poop-inspired ode is still hilarious years later. “Corn feces!” the star proclaims, clapping his hands and cracking up. “When I Was 17” — this week featuring Naya Rivera, Camelo Anthony and Taye Diggs — premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV Related Videos ‘When I Was 17’ Episode 205 Sneak Peek Related Photos When I Was 17 (Season 2) | Ep. 5 | Naya Rivera, Taye Diggs, Carmelo Anthony Related Artists Taye Diggs

CyHi The Prynce Calls In Some Friends For Allies Mixtape

Big Sean, J. Cole and more show up on the street set, in Mixtape Daily. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway and Rahman Dukes CyHi the Prynce Photo: MTV News Don’t Sleep: Necessary Notables Mixtape : The Allies Headliner : CyHi the Prynce Key Cameos : Big Sean, Yelawolf, Donnis, Big K.R.I.T., Pill, J. Cole and more Essential Info : You would think on the heels of dropping a critically acclaimed mixtape, CyHi the Prynce would take his act on the road or bask in the praise. But the Decatur, Georgia, native must subscribe to the motto “no rest for the weary.” Just a month after dropping Royal Flush, CyHi is set to drop another collection to the streets, the collabo-heavy Allies. “Everyone was asking me on the Royal Flush [project], why didn’t I do some songs with other guys,” Prynce told MTV News’ Sway Calloway during an appearance on “RapFix Live.” “So it was cool, they liked the songs, they just wanted to hear me with some of my peers as well.” The forthcoming 14-song collection is tentatively slated to arrive in mid-December, just in time for the holidays, he said of his gift to fans. So far, he’s nine songs into the project and looking to lock in his G.O.O.D. Music crew member Pusha T for the potential first offering, “A Thousand Pounds.” The track is a thought-provoking number about what the MCs featured on the song would do should they come into that amount of money. The mixtape will be the upstart MC’s third of the year, following his Greg Street and Green Lantern-helmed The Prynce of Jacks and last month’s Royal Flush “I feel like I can do it more than once, more than three times,” CyHi said of releasing more material. “I gave y’all my nukes. I threw a couple of nukes in. Other than that, it’s the same me, just more wise and more groomed.” Other Heat This Week

LaLa Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony: Married!

It’s (finally) official! After a five-year engagement, actress/MTV VJ LaLa Vazquez and NBA star Carmelo Anthony married in New York City Saturday night. Adorably, their 3-year-old son, Kiyan, escorted them to the altar. About 320 people, including pals Kim Kardashian and Ciara, were on hand to watch LaLa walk down the aisle in a Vera Wang gown, adorned with flowers. Carmelo proposed in 2005 with an 8-carat cushion-cut diamond, but later added 2 1/2-more carats with two matching wedding bands, worth $200,000. “They are ready to party!” Kevin Osbourne, who led the band that played during dinner, said. “A lot of soul and R&B. Michael Jackson to Stevie Wonder.” DJ Clue was also scheduled to spin. Congratulations to Carmelo Anthony and LaLa Vazquez! In the run-up to the big day, LaLa Vazquez joked that wedding planning was wearing her out, even though planner Mindy Weiss was handing the details. “I’m seeing the pre-wedding stress increase… The guest list went from this to that [indicating larger]. I’m trying to control it. It’s, like, over the top now!” Glad it worked out. Congratulations to the happy couple!
