Ray Charles’ Mistress Brags About Stealing His Cash & Aborting Baby

See the rest here:

Ray Charles alleged mistress Marci Soto, has penned a memoir entitled “Ray & Me,” where she dishes some very private secrets and even admits to robbing the blind soul star! Soto writes that even though the pair were both married to other people when they met in 1968, they carried on a steamy affair for years, only ending in 1997, when she grew tired of his womanizing, although they reconnected close to the end of Ray’s life in 2004. In the memoir, obtained by Globe Magazine , Soto writes of stealing money from Charles, substituting $1 bills for $100s that he brought home from one of his concerts. She writes, “I certainly didn’t feel like I was robbing the blind. I felt like he was ready to do something he should have done years earlier – pay off my house.” And if that wasn’t enough to tell you what sort of a person Soto boasts of being, she also admits to aborting his baby, and never telling him. “I didn’t even tell Ray – there was no reason to know. I definitely wasn’t having a baby.” SMH! What a lovely woman. Not only did she carry on an affair with a married man, but she stole from him, expected him to pay her bills and aborted his child without telling him. And now she is trying to make more money off her association with him, even after his death, by selling private secrets. Classy. SMH: So Much For Melo And Amar’e Dream Team-ing It Up For The Knicks

Sorry Knicks fans: your Big Three’s beginner’s luck is a wrap. And your team is still a disappointment. It’s “March Sadness” in New York City as the New York Knicks dropped their sixth straight, falling to the Charlotte Bobcats. Despite new personnel, these struggles are nothing new in the month of March for New York. The Knicks have posted losing records this month in each of the last seven seasons and have the lowest win percentage in the NBA during March since the 2004-05 season. Carmelo Anthony set his Knicks career-high with 36 points, doing so on 25 field goal attempts, the most he has taken in a game since his first with the Knicks (also 25). He did not receive much help from the rest of the Knicks’ perceived “Big Three” though, as Chauncey Billups and Amar’e Stoudemire combined for just 28 points on 29 shots including just six points on five field goal attempts in the fourth quarter. As of right now, the Knicks should still be able to make it to the Playoffs. But that’s not even a guarantee. Poor thangs. Source

‘They say all rappers want to be basketball players, [and] all basketball players want to be rappers,’ says wife of Carmelo Anthony, La La Vazquez. By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Rahman Dukes LeBron James Photo: MTV News Hip-hop and sports are practically kindred spirits, especially when it comes to basketball. At this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend , a number of hoop stars, and the wife of one player in particular, wholeheartedly agreed with this observation. “They always say all rappers want to be basketball players, [and] all basketball players want to be rappers,” La La Vazquez, wife of New York Knick Carmelo Anthony and ex-MTV VJ, told MTV News. Over the years, a number of NBA players have actually become rappers on the side. Besides four championships — three with the Los Angeles Lakers, one with the Miami Heat — Shaquille O’Neal also managed to release four albums. The first, 1993’s Shaq Diesel, went platinum and the third, 1996’s You Can’t Stop the Reign, featured a pair of verses from the Notorious B.I.G. on its title track. More recently, L.A. Laker Ron Artest has embarked on a rap career, while his teammate Kobe Bryant once kicked rhymes on R&B singer Brian McKnight’s “Hold Me.” Not every player necessarily has rap dreams to go along with their hoop dreams, though. “Every player except me wants to be a rapper,” said Dwight Howard of the NBA’s Orlando Magic. “I don’t want to do the rap thing.” Howard did add though about his fellow NBA stars, “We love music. We love hip-hop and we support it.” LeBron James, who is famously and charitably good friends with Jay-Z, mentioned how basketball players are frequently name-checked in song. For example, on Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind,” the MC rhymes, “Jesus paying LeBron, I’m paying Dwyane Wade.” This synergy between players and rappers ultimately boils down to mutual respect. “We all came from nothing,” Boston Celtic Kevin Garnett told us. “The appreciation factor for each other, the fact you gotta grind and work hard to get where you at, it’s similar. It’s a very similar industry.” Garnett’s teammate and fellow All-Star Rajon Rondo added, “We respect those guys the way they respect us. It kind of goes hand in hand. Rappers love to come see us play. We love to see them perform.” What do you think of the ongoing love between hip-hop and hoops? Sound off in the comments!

The Wait Is Over: Melo’s Move To NYC Is Official

The “Melo-Drama” may not have been as dramatic as Bron’s decision, but still: we’re all glad it’s over. And while the Knicks’ acquisition of Carmelo Anthony may not be a surprise, the lengths they went to to get him are pretty impressive… or rather desperate, depending on how you look at it. James Dolan pulled the trigger Monday night on a blockbuster deal for Anthony, the Brooklyn-born All-Star forward and former Syracuse standout, who for months was angling for an opportunity to join forces with Amar’e Stoudemire in New York. It’s all part of the Knicks’ ambitious plan to eventually add either Chris Paul or Deron Williams next year and give the club its own Big Three to compete against Miami and Boston. The price for Anthony was steep, as the Knicks traded Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler and rookie center Timofey Mozgov to the Denver Nuggets. They also gave Denver $3 million in cash plus a 2014 first-round pick and two second-round picks they had acquired from Golden State in last summer’s sign-and-trade with David Lee. The Knicks get Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Renaldo Balkman and Anthony Carter. In a separate deal, the Knicks traded Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to the Minnesota T-Wolves, who in turn will reportedly send Corey Brewer to the Knicks. As a condition of the deal, Anthony will get a 3-year, $65 million extension. Congrats New York Knicks fans! You probably still have no hope of seeing a championship any time soon. Source

Elisabetta Canalis Shakes It to Ciara

This is what George Clooney goes home to every night… During the final night of the 61st Italian Song Festival in San Remo on Saturday, Elisabetta Canalis got up on stage and performed a dance to Ciara’s “Like a Boy.” Based on what we see here, we no longer feel sorry for Clooney when he came down with malaria . After all, just consider who was bringing him tea and medicine in bed. Yowza! Elisabetta Canalis at the Italian Song Festival

NBA All-Star Game Fashion Face-Off: Steven Tyler vs. Carmelo Anthony

Rock star-turned- American Idol judge Steven Tyler is used to the bright lights of Hollywood, feeling right at home at the NBA All-Star Game Sunday in L.A. Carmelo Anthony? He’s just grateful for a three-day break from the isolated, snowy, oxygen-deprived hellhole that is Denver. Just trade the guy already! We kid, Coloradans. We love the Mile High City and would gladly accept a three-year, $65 million deal to move THG there. Y’know, if you’re interested. Anyway, who looked better on the magenta carpet last night? Vote:
