Scotty McCreery just experienced what he described on Twitter as the “worst morning of his life.” And for a very understandable reason. The winner of American Idol Season 10 and his roommates at North Carolina State University were victims of a home invasion inside their off-campus residence in Raleigh. According to local TV station WTVD, the 20-year old was actually ordered to the ground by armed suspects who took cash, wallets and electronics. They told McCreery and his friends to face down and count to 100 as they made their escape. No one was injured in the incident. “Yes, it was definitely very scary,” Scotty wrote on Facebook this afternoon. “Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case. I will share more when the time is right, but as of now we do not want to do or say anything that could hinder the investigation. “Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. A huge thank you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case.” Raleigh police have released a 911 call from someone at McCreery’s house who says: “They took everything we have. Sometimes, the worst laid plans turn out the best. Earlier this month, Elan Spreiser planned to propose to Koren Lockwood on the observation deck at the top of Rockefeller Center. But rain nixed both that plan and his back-up: popping the question on a horse-and-buggy ride. So while walking near Central Park, Spreiser simply dropped suddenly to a knee and asked for Lockwood’s hand in marriage. She said yes… and a stranger named Jeannae Zuloag just happened to be standing there to capture the moment on camera. “I immediately was like, ‘They need pictures of this moment, they’re going to want pictures,’” Zuloaga told Today. “I think it was just a magical kind of happenstance.” Zuloaga then approached the newly-engaged couple and told them about the fortuitous photos. Said Spreiser in response, hugging the 23-year old: “You’re my favorite person right now, besides [my fiance].” Spreiser also told The Huffington Post via email that she plans on using these pics for her Save-the-Dates. Fake Podiatry Student Wanted For Sucking Toes At Walmart Via WSCOTV reports: North Carolina police need the public’s help in identifying a man who is accused in a bizarre incident at a Walmart store. Police said a woman said that an unidentified black man started a conversation with her saying that he was a podiatrist student. The victim told police the man talked her into trying on several pair of shoes in the shoe department. At one point, the victim said the man took her foot, put it into his mouth and sucked on her toes, police said. Police released photos of the man and asks anyone who may know him to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909.

This is so sad. Student Killed In Shooting At South Carolina State University Why shoot up the school? According to USA Today: A student was killed Friday at South Carolina State University, and authorities say they are searching for at least four suspects. The shooting took place around 1:30 p.m. ET Friday outside Andrew Hugine Suites, a dormitory for upperclassmen on the campus of the historically black university about 40 miles south of Columbia, S.C. Killed was Brandon Robinson, 20, of Orangeburg. He had played on the school’s football team. “We are extraordinarily sad about this,” said university President Thomas Elzey, who teared up as he spoke at an evening news conference. “He’s a very nice young man … and it hurts. It hurts us all.” University Police Chief Mernard Clarkson said officials know who fired the shots and believe that the suspects have left campus but had wanted to be ready in case they returned.
