Carrie Underwood Not Fussy With Her Wedding Details

buzznet Life is so good for American country singer-songwriter Carrie Underwood. Flourishing career, good life and love all well-laden to the 4th season American Idol winner. After winning the Entertainer of the Year prize for the second time from a very prestigious award giving body Academy of Country Music Awards on its 45th, multi-platinum singer seemed not so fussy about her upcoming nuptials with Canadian hockey center player Mike Fisher. Underwood tol PEOPLE on Sunday “We’re not people who stress about anything”.  ”We just focus on a few of the main things, and everything is like, whatever.” She also added,  ”I don’t care what color napkins are on the table. I don’t care. We’re just both really laid back. Family, food and fun, that’s all we really need. And, oh yeah, get married.” Fisher, born on June 5, 1980, was playing for the Senators in Ottawa on Sunday and wasn’t able to join his fiancée in Las Vegas. But he did text her during her acceptance speech  and she clearly felt the love from a distance. “I couldn’t ask for anything else in my whole life,” she said. “So many things have been happening and being on tour and planning a wedding. Nights like this make life wonderful.” Carrie Underwood Not Fussy With Her Wedding Details is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

Country Music Awards Fashion Face-Off: Julianne Hough vs. Kristen Bell

The cast of Dancing with the Stars misses her, but Julianne Hough is branching out into the world of country music, and quite successfully, we might add. She’ll also be starring as the lead in the remake of Footloose , if it ever gets made. Talk about a woman of many talents. And pretty easy on the eyes, too. How will she fare in a fashion clash with Kristen Bell, though? Julianne’s dress was long, flowing and glamorous at last night’s Academy of Country Music Awards, while the Gossip Girl narrator kept it short and sleek. Earlier, we profiled Carrie Underwood and Lindsey Vonn . This style showdown may be even tougher to handicap. Who do you think looked better Sunday? Vote in our survey below to tell us … Another battle of blonde beauties. [Photos: Splash News] Who looked better last night?

Was Adam Lambert A Good ‘American Idol’ Mentor? Experts Weigh In

‘Adam can say he was on the show last year, and he knows how it feels,’ outgoing bandleader Rickey Minor says. By Gil Kaufman Adam Lambert backstage at “American Idol” on Tuesday Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images Adam Lambert has never been shy about expressing his opinions, but on Tuesday night, the season-eight “American Idol” runner-up provided some of the most candid and spot-on advice of any mentor in the show’s history. While previous mentors have typically offered sweet nothings, praise and light advice to the contestants, like another season-nine guide, Usher , Lambert dug in and really encouraged the singers to push the envelope and display their personalities, providing concrete suggestions for molding their performances. He was unafraid to criticize their choices — counseling Andrew to punch up his version of “Hound Dog” and loosen up a bit and suggesting to Siobhan Magnus that her arrangement of “Suspicious Minds” needed to be sped up a bit to really pop — and praise them when they made the right ones. The results didn’t always translate into great performances, but Lambert’s efforts drew praise from no less an expert than outgoing “Idol” musical director Rickey Minor . “From the first day I met Adam in Hollywood Week — and he stood out right then — I’ve always thought he was someone to listen to,” Minor told MTV News on Wednesday, the day after it was announced he’d be leaving “Idol” at the end of this season for “The Tonight Show.” “This is a visual art as well, and I think he did really well, because he’s been in the competition and he’s in their age range. It’s not like some star who’s been around for 30 years saying, ‘You need to do this.’ Adam can say he was on the show last year, and he knows how it feels. It was a great idea to have him on.” Minor said Lambert’s honesty and truthfulness with the contestants, both good and bad, was refreshing. “He was the one who told them, ‘No one told me I’d be working 10 times as hard [once I left the show],’ ” Minor said. “His thing was to challenge them, and I have a lot of respect for him having already worked with him. And now that he’s come in and talked to these kids, it’s even bigger.” Close “Idol” watcher MJ Santilli, who runs MJsBigBlog.com , said she would have preferred that an “Idol” elder like Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson be the first former contestant to return as a mentor. “But having said that, I think Adam did a fine job,” she said. “He’s got something many of this year’s contestants lack: the ability to craft a performance that’s vocally, visually and emotionally stunning.” With that unique combination and his no-nonsense attitude, Santilli said Lambert’s suggestions to the nine finalists was refreshing. “Coming from that perspective, Adam was perfect,” she said. “He gave the kids good advice on how to make their performances more exciting. Adam’s an articulate guy who expresses himself well. He was honest and constructive.” In fact, on a night when the four panelists often agreed in the same bland way or disagreed on minor points, Santilli said Simon, Kara, Ellen and Randy “might want to take a few pointers from [Adam].” How did you think Adam did as a mentor? Carrie Underwood Shows Off Her Puppies

Obviously Carrie Underwood isn’t showing off the puppies most of us would like to see, but I guess a real puppy dog is pretty cute and slightly more appropriate for an event hosted by Pedigree . She still looks pretty good, even without the boobs, now if only we can get her to an event hosted by a more appropriate company like Hooters or Dirty Pete’s Boobie Bungalow we’d be in business. Enjoy. more pictures of Carrie Underwood here

‘Me & Bobby McGee’: The Story Behind Crystal Bowersox’s Cover

On ‘American Idol,’ Bowersox earned big praise for singing Janis Joplin’s posthumous hit. By Kyle Anderson Once again, one of the highlights of Tuesday night’s episode of “American Idol” — which was focused on songs that had hit No. 1 on the pop charts — was Crystal Bowersox’s performance. Armed with her trusty guitar and her disarming voice, the rocker sang “Me and Bobby McGee,” which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971. There’s a bittersweet feeling within the lyrics of “Bobby,” as well as in the story surrounding it. The song was written by country legends Kris Kristofferson (who has had a string of hits himself) and Fred Foster (who produced much of Roy Orbison’s best work and helped introduce the world to Dolly Parton) and was recorded by “King of the Road” singer Roger Miller and Canadian folk king Gordon Lightfoot in 1969 and 1970, respectively. Both of those versions became hits, but neither was as big as the one recorded by Joplin, who was friends and occasional lovers with Kristofferson. The bluesy growler recorded the song without his knowledge for her solo album Pearl, which she cut with the Full Tilt Boogie Band. Pearl came out in February of 1971, four months after Joplin’s October 1970 death from a heroin overdose. “Me and Bobby McGee” was released as a commercial single and hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 during the week of March 20, 1971, making Joplin only the second person in history to top that chart posthumously. Though Joplin’s version remains definitive, “Me and Bobby McGee” has been covered by a number of artists, including country greats Kenny Rogers and Johnny Cash, rock icons the Grateful Dead and Melissa Etheridge, and pop idols Olivia Newton-John and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Pink’s version of the track appears on her “Live in Europe” DVD, and Tori Amos has broken it out in concert. Bowersox’s version marks the first time “Me and Bobby McGee” has appeared on “American Idol,” though songs performed by Joplin have popped up five times before. Nikki McKibbin, Carrie Underwood and Asia’h Epperson are among the “Idol” hopefuls who have performed “Piece of My Heart,” while Allison Iraheta knocked out Joplin’s “Cry Baby” last season. What did you think of Crystal Bowersox’s take on “Me and Bobby McGee”? How does it compare to Janis Joplin’s version? Let us know in the comments!
