My name is Emily and on July 15, 2012 I was lucky enough to meet my amazing idol Justin Bieber. I arrived at his hotel in Melbourne at 8 a.m. My friend, my mum and I were the only three there – no beliebers, no paparazzi, nothing! We weren’t sure whether to be excited or nervous. As the hours passed, a couple more girls arrived. By the time Justin arrived there were only 10 beliebers and 2 paparazzi, unfortunately he drove straight into his hotel because as Moshe later told us he was very tired. We were absolutely devastated though, we thought that we had missed our chance. We didn’t even get to see him through his tinted windows. But we didn’t give up, after all it was Justin himself that taught us to never say never. We stuck around and soon things took a drastic turn. The crew arrived. They got out of their cars and had a conversation with us, they were so down to earth and so humble – it was almost unbelievable.  We met Fredo, Kenny, Dan and Scrappy. Scrappy even agreed to give our scrapbook to Justin.  We were so grateful for everybody that we met and the way they treated us. We were happy for hours to come, nothing could wipe the smiles off our faces. More and more girls started turning up and when the crew (including Justin and Selena) came down to have lunch, we were all basically hyperventilating at the fact that we were standing a few feet away from Justin Bieber and all that separated us was a glass window and a wall. When Justin and Selena stood up, we thought they would just go straight up to their hotel room but no, Justin came out to his beliebers and asked if we wanted some photos. I walked straight up to Justin and he put his arm around my shoulder. I took two pictures with him and said, “Thank you, I love you so much.” I couldn’t believe it, I was in complete shock but tried to stay calm in front of Justin. But as soon as he went inside, I lost it!! I was completely overwhelmed – I was crying hysterically and hugging my friends – I had met Justin Bieber, something I never thought would ever happen. Not only did I meet him but I also got a photo with him, something I would treasure forever. All the hours waiting out in the cold were worth it and I would do it a million times over to relive this experience. I am so, so grateful to Justin for making my dream come true. I never thought that this would ever happen, but it did and it can happen for you as well. Every belieber deserves to meet Justin and someday it will happen. Justin was able to defy the odds and become a world-renowned superstar and you can make the impossible become possible if you just BELIEVE. -@OurBoy_Biebs The rest is here: My name is Emily and on July 15, 2012 I was lucky enough to meet…

Pacific Rim: The Characters and Robotic ‘Engineering Feats’ of Guillermo Del Toro’s Monster Sci-Fi Pic

With a year to go before Pacific Rim hits theaters, Guillermo del Toro ( Hellboy , Pan’s Labyrinth ) hit Comic-Con with stars Charlie Hunnam , Ron Perlman , Rinko Kikuchi and Charlie Day to preview the giant robot-monster movie, inspired by the Japanese sci-fi pics he watched as a kid. His vision for the film? Dirty, epic, and realistic — so much so that Del Toro and his crew built functioning, practical robots and entire sets with hydraulics (“a huge engineering feat!”), putting his actors in the thick of the action rather than go the CG route. Del Toro called the experience “the best I’ve had on any film set in all my life.” Day remembered it slightly differently: “You tortured the f*** out of us!” Developed with writer Travis Beacham, Pacific Rim is set years into a war between humans, piloting massive robots called Jaegers, and giant monsters from the sea that threaten to wipe out civilization. When his passion project At the Mountains of Madness folded, Del Toro turned his attentions to Pacific Rim , channeling an outsized amount of energy into making it his most ambitious project to date. Given the Japanese sci-fi flicks that inspired the film — not to mention the upcoming Godzilla reboot bringing kaiju culture back into the mainstream — it’s easy to guess that genre aficionado Del Toro has crafted in Pacific Rim a love letter to said films. That love is abundant, but he insists that the pic will be forging its own path rather than referencing what’s come before. “I wouldn’t compare it to a Godzilla film,” said Del Toro. “[I told my crew] we should not reference other movies. We should not go and re-watch Gamera or re-watch Gojira or War of the Gargantuans because we love them, right? So we said, let’s create the world that we’re doing. We should not be doing a referential film.” So what should you know about Pacific Rim ? Del Toro and his cast shared the essentials of the characters and robots vs. monsters universe of the film. THE CHARACTERS Hunnam plays Raleigh Antrobus, a former soldier called back into action who partners with Rinko Kikuchi’s Mako Mori to co-pilot an obsolete Jaeger. “When you meet me in the beginning of the story I’ve suffered a giant loss, and not only has it killed my sense of self-worth, it’s also killed my will to fight and keep on going,” Hunnam explained. “Rinko and a couple of people bring me out of retirement to try to help in this grand push. And I think that journey is a very relatable one; I think everybody in their life has fallen down and not felt like getting back up, but you have to no matter how difficult it is.” Kikuchi, who earned an Oscar nomination for Babel and appeared in Rian Johnson’s Brothers Bloom , plays a newbie pilot who, like Raleigh, has also suffered great loss in her life. “The idea is that two people that are really, really hurt, can become one,” Del Toro said of the partnership between the two characters. “Both in the robot metaphorically, and in life. They meet when they’re two empty pieces and connect almost like a puzzle.” Making the leap to big screen action is Day ( It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia ), as Newt Gotlieb. “You need big tough guys and strong guys and the people that you believe could fight and save the world,” said Day, “and then in the case of my guy, you think, how does the sort of everyman who you’d think couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag — how’s that guy going to contribute? What I think people will latch onto with my character is how flawed he is in his attempts to help save the world.” Rounding out the cast is Del Toro regular Perlman, whose Hannibal Chow is a black marketeer specializing in the illicit monster trade. “I have a relationship with the powers that be whereby I have the right to sell all these fallen monsters on the black market to rich people who have way too much money and are looking to collect rare and exotic, strange shit. So I have no moral compass, I have no scruples whatsoever — I’m just a profiteer, and in this case a war profiteer. But the war is not amongst countries, it’s a war against time for all of humanity.” THE SETS In his pursuit for realism, Del Toro approximated faux-oil-splattered lenses and imperfect camera work to add believability to the visual experience. That desire for verisimilitude extended to his sets — some of which were outfitted with their own systems of shocks to make real the sort of effects that might otherwise be achieved with CG. “We built a lot of things that were oversize and difficult in order to bring that tactile effect,” Del Toro explained. “We built a whole street of Tokyo and we rigged it with pneumatic shocks, so every time the monster took a step the whole street would vibrate and the cars would jump and the walls would shake and the lampposts would shake and the air conditioning units would fall.” THE ROBOTS With names like Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha, the Jaegers of Pacific Rim are as tall as buildings and operate between two human pilots, connected by a neural link. “I wanted each robot to have a personality and for you to feel when the robot gets hurt, or when the robot wins,” said Del Toro. “I want to make the audience feel for those machines as much as they feel for the humans — and also, frankly, for the kaiju.” Del Toro and his team designed the robots with real world mechanics in mind, with parts that served practical functions. And when it came time to film, he called on his cast to jump into their rigs for the aforementioned “torture.” “The cockpit of the robot which is in the head, is almost three stories high,” described Del Toro. “And we mounted it on hydraulic shakers so in battle every time they got hit, it would really hit. And I wanted to do it with the actors, I didn’t want to do it with the doubles.” “The first time they were in,” he recalled, “Charlie came to visit the first group of actors — I won’t say who they were — and said, ‘Crybabies!’ This machine, which is the interface between the robots and them, flows with their bodies. It was a huge engineering feat. It was real. We could have done it CG, but why do that? [Laughs]” “Every guy broke. The only one that never complained was Rinko.” Stay tuned for Movieline’s chat with Rinko Kikuchi and read more from Comic-Con 2012 here . Follow Jen Yamato on Twitter . Thursday June 21 was like any other Thursday. I woke up early,…

Thursday June 21 was like any other Thursday. I woke up early, got ready for work and headed out. I come home kick my shoes off, grab a bite to eat, and browse the interweb. I happened to have message on Facebook from my close friend Anita (@bieberinla95).  “Guess what? Justin Bieber will be at Radio Disney on Monday!” I literally screamed and ran around my house like an idiot. Once I calmed down, I called Anita to get all the details and make sure she was going too. After making arrangements for Monday I waited dreadfully long for the weekend to be over. I don’t think I got a full nights sleep. Finally Monday rolled around. I woke up at 6:30 am and got ready for what I hoped would be a day to remember. It was more than that. I arrived at RD at like 8:30-9ish and hung out with Twitter friends Katy and Jessica. (@loluvsJB & @katiekeegann). We waited anxiously for JB to arrive with other girls such as Shelby and Stalker Sarah. Somehow word got out about the RD interview and more girls than I could count showed up. All of us who arrived early and waited all day prayed that they wouldn’t hoard. It was about 1:30 when JB showed up and girls flocked to him like sheep without a herder. He was quickly rushed into the studio while girls screamed at the windows . I was devastated, me and Anita already knew that there was no way he would be able to stop and take pictures with all like 100 of us plus he was already running late. We both left crushed and heart broken. We decided to go to Culver City to have some lunch and then possibly head to Venice Beach. On our way to a great french bakery, we happened to get a glimpse of grey van and what looked like to be segway on the back. We quickly pulled over and asked a man walking inside what was this place. It happened to be another radio station. KROQ or AMP, they were both in there. We ran to the gate and realized that was Justin’s van! Then we caught sight of Moshe, Vanessa, and Kenny and we were like “OMG. We still have chance.” We motioned Vanessa over and begged her to please let Justin know that we were outside and we really wanted to meet him. She said that she would let him know but couldn’t make any promises. Then we tried to motion Kenny over but he waved us off claiming he was busy. We waited about 10 mins and then Justin exited out the building. Anita and I both were like, “Please, please, please, Justin come take a picture with us.” But he just got in his van and Moshe told us he was sorry but they were running late. We still tried one last time, “Pleasse Justin, PLEASEEE.” They were about to close the door and drive off when I was like “Come on guys, let’s just give up.” We turned to walk back towards our cars when we heard, “WAIT! Come back.” Moshe motioned us over and Justin greeted us outside his van . I literally cannot explain how grateful, happy, and blessed I felt. He took pictures with me, Anita, her mom’s friend’s daughter, and another fan who happened to be by there (she told me her twitter but I forgot it) and Anita’s mom. He was honestly so sweet and nice even when he was rushing and running late. All I can say guys is fate has mysterious ways of working. Seriously never give up it will happen. Take every opportunity that you can. I never thought this would happen and I was ready to go home and cry myself to sleep that night but I believed and I was determined. You will have your Bieber Experience. I promise. -@virginiaknightt  Read more: Thursday June 21 was like any other Thursday. I woke up early,…

REVIEW: Chloe Moretz and Blake Lively Almost Steal Away with Hick

At age 15, Chloë Grace Moretz is now right in the center of the child/adult Venn diagram. Pretty soon we’ll have to accept that she really is a young woman, but for now, it’s slightly discomfiting to see her in the jailbait short shorts and tiny halter tops she wears in Derick Martini’s Hick . Even in the old days, girlhood went by in a flash, and most contemporary parents will tell you that today those years of innocence — or at least perceived innocence — are even more compressed. Plus, some girls just move faster than others: Moretz’s character in Hick is an unhappy 13-year-old named Luli who doesn’t yet know how to use her sexual allure, though she’s vaguely aware that she’s got some. She can’t wait to grow up and get the hell away from her tiny, repressive Nebraska town and her heedless parents (played by Juliette Lewis and Anson Mount), and her urgency gives the movie whatever momentum it has. Which, unfortunately, isn’t much. Hick , which is based on Andrea Portes’ 2007 novel (she also wrote the screenplay), walks the jittery line between being exploitative and too sensitive, and while it’s probably a relief that it tips more toward the latter, the movie also seems a bit unclear in its motives. In an early scene, we see Luli testing out the revolver — it’s a Smith & Wesson .45, she’s quick to correct anyone who merely calls it a “gun” — her uncle has just given her for her 13th birthday. She stands in her bedroom, dressed in a T-shirt and multi-colored frilly panties, her hair gloriously tousled in a Bardot-like way; she tilts the barrel this way and that as she tests out lines from tough-guy movies. She’s adorable and, heaven help us, sexy, and at this point in the picture, Martini is very clear about sending that mixed message: The crossed signals are unsettling, but they’re also full of life. When Luli is betrayed — seemingly not for the first time – by her mother, she decides to leave her family’s ramshackle house for a better life somewhere else, and she chooses Las Vegas. She puts on some fuchsia plastic sandals and a pair of oversized sunglasses, slings a fringed bag over her shoulder and hits the road — she’s like a sweet, tadpole version of Jodie Foster’s Iris. Not much later, she hitches a ride with Eddie (Eddie Redmayne), a cowboy of few words, though the ones he uses suggest that he’s an untrustworthy hothead. After he tosses her out of his pickup for sassing him — did I mention Luli is a champion sassy-mouth? — she meets another wanderer, Glenda ( Blake Lively ), a tall drink of water in a twirly dress straight out of Picnic . (The movie is set, as suggested by source music that includes the Cars, in the early 1980s, though it has a somewhat stylized fairy-tale, any-era vibe.) Glenda ropes Luli into a robbery that goes wrong, though it’s clear that Luli’s conscience won’t allow her to head too far down a crooked path. And before long, she has bigger things to worry about, anyway: Through much of the movie — after that early guns-and-panties scene — most of the characters Luli encounters don’t seem to notice how alluring she is. Then, suddenly, they do notice, and Martini and Portes attempt to steer the movie into darker, more sinister territory. In broad terms, the tone switch makes sense, but Martini — who previously directed the 2009 feature Lymelife — doesn’t quite know how to signal it, or how to handle its seedier, grainier texture. You can’t blame him for working hard not to be too sordid and sleazy. And the picture, despite its potentially controversial subject matter, hasn’t been accompanied by the same nervous anticipation that heralded Deborah Kampmeier’s 2007 Hounddog , starring Dakota Fanning , a movie whose buzz was bigger than its actual bite. But Martini’s sensitivity toward his lead character puts his movie in a bind: We desperately do not want bad things to happen to Luli, but we can’t be indifferent to all of her charms, either. In the end, the story’s potential emotional complexity — the idea that we might want to protect a young character while also recognizing her waiting-in-the-wings sexuality — ends up in a bland gray area. That’s frustrating, because you get the sense the actors, particularly Lively and Moretz, could have taken this story anywhere. In her off-duty hours Lively is certainly an upscale-looking girl, making repeat appearances on the cover of Vogue . But in the movies, she never plays down to her characters. Here, as she did in The Town , she makes you believe in her character’s mixed-up soul, not just in a particular accent or in a way of standing that signals “person from the other side of the tracks.” She’s a promising actress who’s probably capable of much more than she’s yet been asked to deliver. And Moretz, standing in that slender oval center of the Venn diagram, plays Luli not as a victim-in-waiting but as an adult-in-waiting. She still has a degree of childlike innocence, and it’s touching. But the bold curiosity in her eyes is far more interesting than that innocence is. Moretz doesn’t have many years, or months, left to play characters like Luli. While she seems to be making the best of each moment, she also conveys the sense she’s ready to move on, and it’s probably time. Follow Stephanie Zacharek on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .

Jermaine “Jell-o” Wallace’s White Hoe Stable Comes To His Rescue “Thank You Jermaine Wallace” (Clap-Clap) [Video]

The other day we reported on a Denver pimp named “Jell-o” that was popped in Houston trying to set up shop . Now, his coke-white stable has come to his rescue: Jermaine “Jell-o” Wallace’s White Hoe Stable Comes To His Rescue “Thank You Jermaine Wallace” (Clap-Clap) [Video] The women who live with and allegedly work for a man called “Jell-o” say he is not a pimp and they are not prostitutes. Germaine “Jell-O” Wallace was captured by U.S. marshals in northwest Houston on Thursday. He was in a cab with four women at the time. Authorities believe Wallace came here to avoid facing a Colorado judge on charges of sexual assault and pimping. “We’re not doing anything wrong,” said Teresa Weeks, one of the women in the cab. The women claim they’re just good friends who share a mansion in Colorado with Wallace and often travel together. They call themselves exotic dancers and said the money they made was legal. “We like our lives,” said Amber Wilson. “We want to maintain our lives. That’s all we were trying to do is make money to maintain the way that we lived before this happened.” The women said they now work at various strip clubs in Houston. “We treat it like a 9 to 5,” said Kara Laughead. “No funny business. We go in, we work. We make money.” Now the women are supporting an online petition that they hope will make Wallace a free man. “I could see it if he was guilty but he’s an innocent man,” added Weeks. On Thursday, a handcuffed Wallace blamed the women for his arrest. “You all know I’m innocent of these charges. The girls that did this, you’re bogus. You know you’re wrong for lying,” Wallace said. Authorities said Wallace was living the high life in Denver, living in a mansion and driving fancy cars. They believe he came to Houston to provide prostitution services to attendees at an upcoming convention. “We didn’t want that here,” said Deputy U.S. Marshal Cameron Welch, who worked the case along with other members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force. “The key factor in this deal was looking for those girls. We knew if we found them they would lead back to him.” Wallace is expected to be extradited back to Colorado in the coming weeks. Check this out… this is what he’s on the run for: Denver authorities have begun outlining their case against a ruthless pimp for running a sophisticated hooker ring through the city’s best-known strip clubs. Germaine “Jell-O” Wallace was living in a $1.3 million pad near Castle Rock, Colo., with a driveway full of custom cars and collection of exotic pets when he was busted on pimping, sexual assault and weapons charges in November, police said in recently filed court papers. Authorities said Wallace sent a crew of loyal hookers into the area’s swankiest jiggle joints to turn tricks — and strong-arm other strippers to do the same. Busting an operation as big as his was unusual because police have a hard time getting hookers to talk. “In their mind, it’s in their best interest to take the hit and not affect the business,” vice unit Lt. Aaron Sanchez told the Denver Post. At the rented 35-acre estate, Wallace and his crew rode dirt bikes and four-wheelers, popped ecstasy and tended to a collection of wild animals, the newspaper reported. Court records showed he kept a serval, an African wild cat resembling a small cheetah, and a kinkajou, a small ferret-like mammal native to rainforests in Central and South America. After the arrest, cops impounded half of the cars, including a Pontiac Fiero tricked out to look like a Lamborghini. One blue minivan featured a cartoon of Bugs Bunny grabbing ‘toon sexpot Jessica Rabbit with the words “choose up” – street slang that tells hookers TO join up with richer pimps. One 20-year-old stripper told police she was recruited into Jell-O’s world by a dancer at the swank Centerfold Showclub. The woman said Wallace raped her and forced her and other dancers to recruit Johns for sex in the clubs’ champagne rooms. “We work literally every night unless someone is sick,” the woman told police. She said she brought in about $800 a night and was forced to text Wallace with earnings updates every hour. Cops said Jell-O gave his girls tips for avoiding undercover cops, knew the private spots of each club and occasionally drove the hookers and their johns to dates outside the clubs. The clubs have denied knowing anything about the ring. Four of Jell-O’s top recruiters, Kara Laughead, 24, Allison Kelly, 25, Teresa Weeks, 22, and Amber Wilson, 24, face prostitution and pimping charges. Wallace’s high-profile lawyer, Harvey Steinberg, said his client is innocent. Turn the page to see these hoes…

My names Valerie and I’m 16 years old, I live in Las…

My names Valerie and I’m 16 years old, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada . My dream has always been to meet Justin or at least see him up close because I had been to his concert here in Vegas, but it’s not the same feeling as if you see him up close or meet him. The day he went on Ellen in November to tell Whitney Elementary that he would donate money to them and perform for them , it was like an ‘omg’ moment. I wanted to go, but one problem. I’m not in Elementary school. I’m a sophomore in Highschool. I told my friend about it and she’s a huge Belieber as well, so we decided that somehow we would get to see Justin that day. I didn’t believe it, but I told myself in order to feel good. I talked to some friends who had gone to Whitney when they were younger and they said they might be able to get me in, but that didn’t work out. So my friend and I kind of started loosing hope and just starting to realize we weren’t going to see Justin at all. We forgot about it until at our local radio station they started talking about how Justin was coming and he was going to perform . They mentioned them hosting a Meet & Greet and they would be giving out tickets daily, blah blah blah. I freaked out, my friend and I called day and night. We only had a week to do this and win those tickets. Ends up we didn’t win them. It’s Thursday night and we’re devastated, so she calls me and tells me, “We’re going. We’re not giving up. I’ll get my dad to drive us tomorrow, but we have to ditch school and not get caught”. I was ready for it. The next day December 16th, 2011 I woke up thinking I could meet Justin today. I wasn’t getting my hopes up though. We went to school but towards the middle, we ditched. We got to Whitney Elementary and they had bunch of security. We tried several times to sneak into the school but we stopped once the police told us we could end up tased, lol. Anyways, we waited and waited until finally Justin arrived in these really nice sleek black cars. He got out with Alfredo and waved to us. There weren’t that many girls yet. But he ended up going in Ellen’s Swaggin’ Waggin’ that was parked outside Whitney. He got changed and while this was happening, Scooter and Kenny were outside waiting for him. We started yelling and screaming so they would come over and they did. They happily came and signed autographs, gave hugs and just talked to us . Kenny signed my jacket and Scooter took a picture with me & my friend. By this time I was already so happy. I just can’t even explain it. I hugged Kenny and told him thank you. I told Scooter thank you. When they were about to leave, we asked him if Justin would come talk to us and he smiled and said “I’ll get him to come here. He wants to anyways” I was like akdfjaljklsjfklasdf. We waited another while after this and finally Justin came out of Ellen’s bus. By now there was a lot more girls waiting for him including me. Everyone was going crazy, many were crying uncontrollably, others just screaming and jumping up and down. He came towards us and waved, he kept smiling and laughing. I couldn’t believe how close I was to him. He moved down the row of girls, and finally he got so close. I can’t describe what I was feeling. He looked at me and my friend and said Hi, he signed some autographs, and hung out for a few minutes, he tried to get to as many fans as possible. There was a lot and I’m just grateful for even being 3 ft of distance to him. By now he was in hurry cause he had to perform, so he left and said maybe he would come back, but he didn’t. My friend and I waited til the private concert was over and he came back out but didn’t get close to the fans he went back into the cars and drove away, but what I do and always will remember was him waving goodbye as he was driving out of the school. That day I went home knowing that I could die happily. My hero, inspiration, my everything had said hi to me and smiled. One smile, that’s all I asked for. I don’t think I’ll ever forget Dec.16, 2011. -princejdrew | tumblr  Originally posted here: My names Valerie and I’m 16 years old, I live in Las…

Random Ridiculousness: Woman Kills Herself With Her Own SUV While Hitting Three Other Cars In The Process

A woman who was struck and killed by her own SUV in the parking lot of the Burger King headquarters in Miami has been identified, police said Monday. Arlene M. Allen, of Miramar, Fla., began to pull out of a parking space at about 6:20 p.m. on Thursday when she hit another vehicle that was parked nearby, Miami-Dade County police said. The woman got out her BMW SUV to assess the damage, but left her vehicle in reverse gear with the driver’s door open, police spokesman Roy Rutland said. The car continued in reverse and struck Allen before hitting two other cars. Police later pronounced the woman dead at the scene. “At this point this just appears to be a tragic accident involving an adult female who was literally just trying to leave work,” Rutland told WTVJ-TV. Police were continuing to investigate the accident. Wow. SMH. Source

Best Parking Attendant of the Day

Here’s a fun little video of the best parker in the world….I think I take pleasure in it…not sexual pleasure you fucking pervert…because I was a valet at some ghetto hotel over a decade ago…and it turned out I was the worst fucking parker of all time, both when I was sober and wasted and in the 2 weeks I was there, I managed to drive 10 cars into the fucking wall, other cars and support beams…not to mention I think I got black lung when I was on the bottom level of the shit and the fucker was paging me to run up the stairs in exhaust ridden hell…before firing me….making this guy easy to relate to…. The life lesson I learned at the valet job was that people who drive brand new Porches and Ferrari’s generally aren’t anal about their cars, they’d leave them there running without a parking ticket, while junior execs who probably still lived with their moms, who drove Audis and BMWs were fucking insane about there shit and would inspect it with a walk around like you were renting a car cuz I guess it was there one asset…and that’s when I learned that rich people are laid back and relaxed, while the junior execs are the assholes you see at the bar acting up so that everyone notices them balling out…. Not that it matters, cuz I’m practically homeless cuz you fuckers don’t exist and advertisers don’t want to pay me millions to reach you. Jerks. TO Watch the Video – FOLLOW THIS LINK
