Mom Finds Son More Than 30 Years After He Went Missing

A woman whose son was abducted by her estranged husband and taken to Mexico three decades ago recently learned her son is back in the U.S. Kathy Amaya told NBC 7 San Diego that she hasn’t seen her son David since he was just a toddler. Her husband at the time took the boy to Mexico. She says she’s been looking for the child, who she tried to report missing, ever since. Mother Finds Son 30 Years After He Went Missing David Amaya was raised by his grandparents in Mexico and doesn’t speak English. His father told David he was American , but didn’t tell him he was taken from the country without his mom’s permission. David said via an interpreter: “My father told me my mother had left me abandoned and orphaned.” “I don’t know my mother, and now I find out she’s been looking for me for 30 years, and I have the longing to meet her for the first time.” David’s father and aunt reportely took him to Mexico under a one-month permit to visit his grandparents. However, he said his father left him there. He only visited handful of times over the last three decades. On October 30, David tried crossing the U.S./Mexico border without documents. U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents detained him for two days. “They did not believe me that I was an American,” David said. Border Patrol agents say they actually did, which led them to investigate and find a birth certificate showing the 37-year-old was born in Chicago in 1976. That’s when Kathy got a call from Border Patrol in San Diego. “They told me that they had someone detained that was crossing the border and he said his name was David Amaya,” she said. “I wasn’t sure if it was him.” “We did some research and found out it was.” A San Diego ministry is providing food and shelter for David as the ministry tries to raise the funds to get him to Wisconsin to he can see his family. The ministry’s pastor arranged a call between David and his mother. Even though the two don’t speak the same language, the reunion was emotional. “He just told me that he doesn’t hold anything against me,” said Kathy, who has four other kids in addition to David. “So that makes me happy.”

Miss Teen USA Sextortion Plot: Jared James Abrahams Guilty of Cassidy Wolf Blackmail

Jared James Abrahams, a 19-year-old Southern California computer student, is facing federal prison for hacking the webcam of Miss Teen USA Cassidy Wolf. Wolf and a dozen other young women worldwide were hacked and blackmailed with the threat of going public with naked pictured he secretly took. Abrahams pleaded guilty to four counts of extortion and one count of unauthorized access of a computer. He will serve 27-33 months in federal prison. Court records show that his victims, which included some minors, were located in Southern California, Maryland, Ireland, Canada, Russia and Moldova. The plot lasted from early 2012 until June 2013. Cassidy Wolf was the most famous, given her high profile, but Abrahams threatened to post the illegally obtained photos of at least 12 others as well. If his targets did not send him more nude images or strip for him on camera, he said he would out them. At least two complied with his demands. “I hacked [the] girls’ computers and, using webcams, took photos of them when they weren’t aware,” Abrahams said in court, admitting his misdeeds. Jared James Abrahams knew some of his victims, including Wolf, a high school classmate. She exposed the “sextortion” plot earlier this year. Wolf, who was crowned in August, went public when she received an e-mail containing nude pics of her that were taken by the camera on her laptop. “Here’s what’s going to happen!” the e-mailer wrote. “Either you do one of the things listed below or I upload these pics and a lot more … on all your accounts.” “Your dream of being a model will be transformed into a pornstar,” he threatened. The FBI raided Abrahams’ home in June and arrested him in September. Wolf tweeted, “Happy to know that this nightmare is coming to an end.”

Chris Brown Hit-and-Run Case: DISMISSED!

Chris Brown’s hit-and-run case was just dismissed by a judge, marking a much-needed and somewhat surprising legal victory for the embattled R&B star. Prosecutors argued that Chris deserved to be punished, and severely at that, for his alleged vehicular law-breaking earlier this summer. Not happening. Chris’ hit-and-run victim struck a civil compromise with him; she didn’t want any money and the damage was so minor, she just wanted the case dismissed.  The L.A. City Attorney objected, arguing to the judge today that Brown was very aggressive toward the victim after the accident, which she did claim. Officials also argued that Brown was on felony probation and therefore his alleged misconduct was all the more serious, but the judge was not persuaded. The case was officially dismissed as of this morning. Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos said, echoing what Chris has said all along about this and other issues, “The case never should have been filed in the first place. “It’s unfortunate he was being prosecuted for who he is rather than what he’s done.” Team Breezy would concur. Now many he’ll be a little less down in the dumps . Chris Brown is Down 🙁

Cassidy Wolf, Miss Teen USA Winner, Targeted in Nude Photo Extortion Plot

Reigning Miss Teen USA winner Cassidy Wolf is reportedly  involved in a case being investigated by the FBI, following an anonymous threat she received. The 19-year-old blonde beauty was targeted by an anonymous person who claimed to be in possession of nude photos taken of her from her webcam. Cassidy Wolf Extortion Plot The Orange County, California-based pageant queen said the suspect tried to extort her, demanding money to keep the photos from going public. A spokeswoman for the FBI’s Los Angeles office confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that the investigation is several months old but would not elaborate. It’s not clear whether or not a suspect had been identified, or whether there are in fact risque Cassidy Wolf photos that have been obtained illegally. Wolf was Miss California Teen USA before winning the 2013 Miss Teen USA pageant title over the weekend at the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas. She has admitted to being the victim of a cyber-stalking plot and says she is using the unfortunate incident to raise awareness and try to help others. The incident, in which someone was able hack into Wolf’s computer and turn on its webcam, is the latest in a string of so-called “sextortion” cases. In most cases, the hackers use email accounts, social media or a computer’s own hardware to glean compromising information or images of its user. Then they extort them with the sexually-based images, as we’ve seen with several celebrity scandals. In Wolf’s case, they have not gotten out … yet.
