‘Jersey Shore’ Sneak Peek At Rest Of Season In Italy

Following the big reveal of the Ronnie-vs.-Situation brawl, there’s plenty more drama to come on this season’s ‘Jersey Shore.’ By Eric Ditzian “Jersey Shore” star Ronnie Photo: MTV Now we know the truth: The Situation was felled in Florence, Italy, not by Ronnie’s mighty punch but by an inadvisable decision to head-butt a wall. Yes, Sunday’s (August 28) episode of “Jersey Shore” finally answered the roomie-vs.-roomie-brawl question that had been haunting the cast’s shenanigans in Italy. But just as one reality-show door was fist-pumped close, a whole new one was opened up during the Video Music Awards pre-show, when MTV debuted a sneak-peek trailer of what’s to come for the rest of the season. Oh, let us count what madness there will be! Deena forgetting to slip on her “underwears” before doing the limbo in a club. Ronnie clutching a firework between his teeth. Snooki enjoying some Sapphic pleasure one minute and declaring her affection for “Italian whale sperm” the next. JWoww giving a reality-show costar a “reality check.” There are car crashes and Breathalyzers and the threat of the entire cast getting deported. There are strippers using lotion in a less-than-family-friendly manner and then Snooki using a bottle of wine as a weapon. Speaking of which, Snickers’ boyfriend Jionni threatens to kill Vinny. All of which leads Pauly to give us a new definition of STD: Stop the drama! Sorry, Pauly, but NGH: Not gonna happen. We wouldn’t want it any other way. We like our “Jersey Shore” the way we like our VMAs: pretty freaking nuts. And so does the cast, who did everything they could to avoid the wrath of Hurricane Irene to make it to Los Angeles for the big show. “We had to get out here for the VMAs. MTV did whatever they could to get us out here. We even had a private jet chartered for us because we wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Vinny told MTV News on Saturday, adding with a laugh, “Yo, Irene! F— you!” Don’t miss “Jersey Shore” every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards is underway. ’30 Minutes Or Less’ Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

From last year’s set visit to this year’s early screening, we’ve been following Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari’s comedy all the way. By Eric Ditzian Aziz Ansari and Jesse Eisenberg in “30 Minutes or Less” Photo: Wilson Webb/ Columbia Pictures Like a bomb indestructibly attached to an anxious pizza delivery boy’s chest, “30 Minutes or Less” hasn’t been able to shake MTV News off itself. From the early news updates (Jesse Eisenberg as that unfortunate pie-slinger, “Zombieland” helmer Ruben Fleischer in the director’s chair) to the exclusive first look at the Michigan set to an MTV Sneak Peek Week public screening of the action-comedy and beyond, we’ve been all over this movie. And now that it’s finally hit theaters, we’re not letting go quite yet. So slip on our “30 Minutes” cheat sheet for everything you need to know before heading to the multiplex this weekend. Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock The project began to come together in earnest in the spring of last year, when Fleischer signed on, followed by Aziz Ansari, Eisenberg (a “Zombieland” vet) , Danny McBride and Nick Swardson. In the film, McBride and Swardson play lowlife slackers who hatch a devious, deranged plan: hook Eisenberg’s delivery dude up like a suicide bomber and force him to rob a bank before the explosives go kablooey. Eisenberg, in turn, recruits his best friend, played by Ansari, to help out with the unfortunate activities. “They’re kind of simple dudes,” Swardson later explained to us . “They’re not very learned. But they’re not like robots. At the core, they are actually very nice people. They believe in friendship and things like that.” “They just want to be loved,” added McBride, “whether it takes a bomb or a bank robbery to get there.” Filming kicked off that summer in Grand Rapids, Michigan. MTV News was invited to check out the action in August, when the production settled into a dusty junkyard to shoot McBride and Swardson blowing up watermelons and kidnapping Eisenberg. Fun! But we had to keep the whole thing under wraps for months, until well after the F-bomb-laden, red-band trailer hit the Web this past spring. Light ‘Em Up! On set, all it seemed anyone could talk about was how bad a driver Eisenberg was . The future Oscar nominee didn’t seem to care. “I live in New York City and ride a bicycle, so I never drive ever, so I’ve been given the opportunity and a cool car,” he told MTV News. “Every time I drive, I get yelled at by the crew, but the stunt drivers always wink at me and say, ‘Nah, that was good, man. Keep doing it.’ I’ve been subtly and subversively encouraged to be very dangerous in the car.” In his defense, there is something dangerous and subversive about the whole movie, as further clips would make clear. In one exclusive MTV News debuted , Eisenberg, newly sporting a bomb on his chest, heads straight to the elementary school where Ansari teaches, because hey, where else would a bomb-carrying pizza boy go other than a school filled with young children? “Jesse, to his credit, is a great improviser,” Fleischer told us. “Both in ‘Zombieland’ and in this movie, he is responsible for so many funny lines, and he can kind of roll. I don’t think that’s his most comfortable gear, but when it’s pushed up, he can give back as good as anybody.” Added Ansari , “What was really fun about the movie, and Ruben did such a good job putting the cast together, we all kind of have different energies that play off well with one another.” Almost Out of Time Fans got an early look at those energies days before the MTV Movie Awards, when we staged a sneak-peek screening of the film. It was at the post-screening Q&A that we got to the bottom of the rumor that Taylor Lautner had shot a cameo in the film. “He’s in it!” Ansari joked, before admitting the truth. “I read that somewhere. I was like, ‘I didn’t know about that.’ … Let’s start that rumor. People like him, right? Just say he’s in the movie. ‘That Lautner cameo is dope, man! You gotta see that movie with Taylor Lautner!’ ” There are far more reasons than a “Twilight” star, though, to merit checking out the film in all its ridiculousness. Just peep some footage from the set, when McBride and Swardson blow those watermelons to smithereens . Those guys are, in the best buddy-comedy tradition, total freaking idiots. Their real-life counterparts kind of are too. “Just point to the bank,” Swardson said when we asked what it’d take for him to rob a bank. “Give me a good mask and a loaded weapon, I’m on,” McBride added. ‘Jersey Shore’ Cast Promises ‘Action-Packed Drama’

‘It was definitely very wild,’ the Situation reveals to MTV News. By Christina Garibaldi “Jersey Shore” stars the Situation and JWoww Photo: MTV News We are now two episodes into season four of “Jersey Shore,” and we’ve already seen hookups , drama and GTL take over the streets of Florence, Italy. Yet, the cast of “Jersey Shore” promised MTV News that things are just getting started, and the most shocking things are still to come. “It makes Miami and last Jersey [season] look like nothing,” JWoww revealed. “It looks like ‘Sesame Street,’ ” the Situation added. The “Jersey Shore” stars loved Italy overall, but find out Snooki’s biggest complaint about heading to the mother land! If you’re having trouble picturing how this season could possibly top the previous seasons, the Situation assured fans they’re in store for something they’ve never seen before. “It’s like an action-packed drama,” he said of the gang’s time in Italy. “It was definitely very wild. My new nickname is ‘Jean-Claude Van Sitch.’ ” Yes, “Jean-Claude Van Sitch” certainly packed a punch this season, but he wasn’t the only one. It seems that everyone got involved in the drama, which still surprises some of the cast. Regarding the most shocking thing viewers will see this season, Snooki said, “all of the fights.” “Even us watching it, we are, ‘Oh s—! Really?’ ” If you tune into “Jersey Shore” for something other than the physical altercations, Vinny promises they’ve got everything covered. “If you’re into physical fights, we got that for you. If you’re into sex things, we got that for you,” he teased. “A little bit of everything that will shock the hell out of you.” So, at the end of “Jersey Shore” season four, what will viewers take away? “I think everyone’s gonna be like, ‘Wow, they really had a trip,’ ” Deena said. ‘Avengers’ Producer Jon Favreau Reveals His Marvel Role

‘My involvement is just to be as supportive as I can be,’ former ‘Iron Man’ director tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian Jon Favreau Photo: MTV News When Jon Favreau bowed out of the “Iron Man” franchise in December, the filmmaker made clear he remained on good terms with Marvel execs and that he’d stay within the studio family as an executive producer on the upcoming superhero all-star flick, “The Avengers.” But with Favreau busy with directorial duties on the alien-Western hybrid “Cowboys & Aliens” and prep work on “Magic Kingdom,” his Disney World-set family picture, it remained to be seen how involved he’d be with “Avengers,” which kicked off filming in April. Now, as the “Avengers” teaser trailer has leaked (after appearing in the post-credits sequence of “Captain America”) and fans have gotten their first look at what director Joss Whedon has done with that collection of superheroes, we’re also getting an idea of Favreau’s role in the action. “My involvement is just to be as supportive as I can be. Most of the cast is people that came onboard to work with me on the ‘Iron Man’ film, so I feel a sense of responsibility to them. I really hope it works out,” Favreau told MTV News while promoting “Cowboys & Aliens.” “I’m not in the trenches with them and I’m not making creative decisions on their behalf, but I’m completely available and of service.” That’s a far cry from how fans might have thought things would play out back in 2008, when Favreau said he’d be open to directing “Avengers.” But in October 2009, MTV News broke the news he wouldn’t be helming the film, and after “Iron Man 2” hit theaters last year, he ceded directorial duties on that franchise to Shane Black . These days, Favreau said Whedon is a far better choice to direct “Avengers” than he ever would be. “They have Joss Whedon, who’s a very talented guy and is really good with ensembles and really understands the superhero genre better than I do,” Favreau explained. “I understand ‘Iron Man’ very, very well, especially the ‘Iron Man’ movie and the cast and the characters all built to one thing. But there are other characters that I don’t know. Each filmmaker had a different approach to how they went about it — ‘Captain America’ is coming out, ‘Thor.’ The combining of all those things is going to be its own thing in and of itself that Joss has embraced and wrote the script. I expect big things.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Avengers.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com .

‘Glee’ Graduates Already Have After-School Plans

Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer all are working on films. By Terri Schwartz Lea Michele Photo: Jason Merritt/Getty Images Life is changing for the cast of “Glee,” both onscreen and off. Thursday’s Emmy nominations were kind to the cast, but creator Ryan Murphy’s announcement Wednesday that leads Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer will exit the show after the third season came as a bit of a shock to the actors involved. Apparently, neither Colfer nor Monteith was aware that their time with Fox’s hit musical show would be ending so soon, though they did know their characters would be written off at some point to coincide with their impending high school graduations. “I didn’t necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year,” Colfer told “Access Hollywood” . “I knew something like that was coming up eventually. I mean, we can’t be there forever. I don’t necessarily want to leave so soon, but it’s fine. It’s what it is, and all things come to an end.” Fortunately, things are on an upswing for Colfer. He earned his second Emmy nomination for the show Thursday, and after winning the Golden Globe earlier this year for his performance, there’s a good chance he’ll be taking Emmy gold home come September 18. Then, Friday morning (July 15), there was the announcement that “Mad Men” star Christina Hendricks will be joining Colfer in his upcoming film project “Struck by Lightning,” which he both wrote and stars in. Sarah Hyland of “Modern Family” and “My Best Friend’s Wedding” actor Dermot Mulroney jumped onboard as well. Colfer also can look forward to the release of “Glee: The 3D Concert Movie,” coming August 12. The trailer for the film debuted online Thursday. The three exiting “Glee” stars all seem to be remaining optimistic about their upcoming departure. “We always knew we’d graduate in real time. It’s all part of the plan and it’s all good! It’s going to make Season 3 amazing!!!” Michele tweeted after the announcement hit the web. Both she and Monteith also have upcoming film projects. Michele has a role in Garry Marshall’s ensemble rom-com “New Year’s Eve,” filming now, and Monteith has the upcoming “Sisters & Brothers” in addition to his recently released “Monte Carlo.” Then there’s also the rumor, courtesy of RumorFix.com , that Michele and Colfer will be receiving their own spin-off show. Were you surprised by the “Glee” announcement? Sound off below!

‘Harry Potter’ Star Matthew Lewis Recalls Embarrassing Run-In With Fan

Actor who plays Neville Longbottom describes being caught in ‘horrible expression of narcissism.’ By Kara Warner Matthew Lewis at the New York City premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” Photo: Getty Images There is almost an endless list of reasons why the stars of the “Harry Potter” movies are beloved. Having watched them grow up onscreen, portraying our favorite J.K. Rowling-created characters, we here at MTV News, as well as the millions of Potter fans around the world, feel a special connection to the cast that you don’t often experience in films and on TV these days. Not only that, but each and every member of the cast has a reputation for being just as delightful offscreen as they are on. There are no big egos or tyrants in the bunch; they are humble, grateful young adults. Except when it comes to causing scenes in Times Square, that is. When MTV News caught up with rising star Matthew Lewis (a.k.a. Neville Longbottom) at the New York premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” earlier this week, he told us about an embarrassing moment he endured during a recent run-in with a fan. “I had a terribly embarrassing moment in New York City,” Lewis said. “I was in Times Square with my friend Nick, and there was a big ‘Harry Potter’ poster in Times Square,” he explained. “I was pointing out where I was on the poster. I said, ‘I’m just there next to Emma [Watson],’ and as I started pointing at the poster somebody tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘Excuse me, are you Matthew Lewis?’ “And it was just this horrible expression of narcissism in the world,” Lewis continued with renewed embarrassment. “I’m there in Times Square pointing at myself going, ‘Hey, that’s me.’ It was awful. But she was lovely. We have the best fans in the world.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . The Situation Returns to Jersey Shore House; Producers Threaten to Fire AWOL Stars

Vinny Guadagnino returned to Jersey Shore over the weekend, a little over a week after getting into an altercation with a cast member and bolting. Reports say The Situation, who walked off the set in a similar huff, is also back into the fold. But the network is far from pleased with their antics. MTV has instituted a “zero tolerance policy” for the Jersey Shore stars, threatening to fire any cast member who even thinks of going AWOL. TMZ says the network is serious this time. Walk off the show again and you’re fired, your contract will be terminated, period. No exceptions. With two cast members nearly jumping ship in the same week, MTV wants to reassert a degree of authority and show the cast who’s in charge. Of course, it’s an empty threat if they won’t back it up, or the cast doesn’t care. The Sitch firmly believes he doesn’t need the show anymore. For now, all is well in Seaside … but give it a few hours. [Photo: WENN.com]

Does Fire With Fire Have the Most Random Cast Ever Assembled?

Earlier this year, your friendly editors at Movieline wondered whether the cast of The Big Bang (with Snoop Dogg, Antonio Banderas, Sam Elliott, James Van Der Beek and Autumn Reeser) was more random than the cast of the animated film Dorothy of Oz (Lea Michele, Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Dan Aykroyd, Hugh Dancy, Oliver Platt, Megan Hilty and Martin Short). Well, it looks like the cast of Fire With Fire trumps them both. Put together.
