Who can help that the Harry Potter alums are so likable, intelligent, and cute? I cannot. I have tried, and more than once. Emma Watson’s Perks of Being a Wallflower co-star Logan Lerman snapped Twitpics of most of the cast hanging out behind the scenes, and Watson’s picture is the most magnetic. Look at those still-childlike eyes! Accio, her genes.
‘There’s going to be a death in the cast and the person that dies is very important in the show,’ Chord Overstreet reveals. By Jocelyn Vena Jenna Ushkowitz Photo: MTV News Next week, the New Directions will be taking their antics to New York City for the finale of “Glee,” but this week the group is mourning the loss of one of their own in the episode aptly titled “Funeral.” MTV News had the pleasure of catching up with “Glee” stars Chord Overstreet and Jenna Ushkowitz at the Fox upfront on Monday in New York City, where they opened up about the emotional episode airing Tuesday night (May 17). “There’s eight of the ‘Glee’ kids that are definitely not dying, and then the other four you’re gonna have to guess,” Overstreet teased. “The four that it’s going to be down to, it’s going to be down to Lea [Michelle], Cory [Monteith], Schuester [Matt Morrison] and Jane Lynch, those guys are up. “I’m kidding,” he continued about any of those people actually dying on the show. “There’s going to be a death in the cast and the person that dies is very important in the show and that’s all I can say. Everyone’s going to be surprised, but I think it shows a dramatic side to everybody in the cast. It’s a good episode; it’s really strong.” Ushkowitz went on to confirm who doesn’t die. “Somebody does die … Tina Cohen-Chang [Ushkowitz’s character] does not die,” she laughed. “I don’t die. Anything is possible, but I don’t think any of us expected a funeral on the show.” She added that while castmembers were going around set worried that they might be knocked off, fans will be surprised by who bids a final fond farewell on the show. “So it definitely was shocking. At first, we were all scared [it might be us], but it’s kind of shocking [regardless], and I think that’s kind of why we did it. I think [fans will definitely be] shocked and I don’t think anyone expected anyone to die, and it affects everyone, everybody in the cast. It’ll be interesting to see what people think.” Who do you think will die on the episode? Share your guesses in the comments. Related Videos Musical ‘Glee-Caps’ Of Season Two
You gotta give it to Mashonda : she sure knows how to keep up that good girl/deer in the headlights/”I never saw that coming” image, doesn’t she? In a recent interview she discussed how she ended up on Love & Hip-Hop to begin with and why she’s not doing the second season which has yet to be announced. On joining the cast: Fresh out of a high profile divorce with rapper/producer Swizz Beatz, Mashonda was approached by producers of a new VH1 reality show called Love & Hip Hop. She was asked to star as the lead, but the singer declined at first. “I just felt like being on a show, a reality show, would be too much, so I declined.” It wasn’t until best friend Emily B, also known as the mother of rapper Fabolous’ child sparked a change of heart in Mashonda’s decision. “Are you willing to come on the show to at least give Emily advice on her relationship? The producers were asking me, I thought about it and it made sense, so I said okay.” That’s interesting: these shows usually center around one character who brings the other “real people” together. And Jim Jones and his girlfriend/fiance Chrissy Lampkin seemed to be the only ones who could have achieved that. With THAT particular cast. We digress… On why she was excited about the opportunity: Under the impression that her role would strictly be to help and inspire women around the world through her friendship with Emily, Mashonda agreed to join the cast of Love & Hip Hop. “I really honestly did do the show to help Emily and help women across the United States, to let them know that you’re not the only one that can go through something like this {divorce and heartbreak}.” “In the first episode when you see Emily and myself in the restaurant, that was the first time I saw {her} in like a month and a half, so the reaction was so authentic and everything was so real. The producers loved the fact that I was able to get emotions out of her, because that was the first time Emily cried on screen. They {producers} kept asking me to come back, and I shot about eight scenes with Emily,” says Mashonda. On her reaction while watching the show: “When I watch it, I do get emotional sometimes especially the scene when they went to my house {season finale episode}, and I look at the way I looked ten months ago, and its like wow,” Mashonda pauses then continues, “I was really going through something, I looked trashed. From the way I look now and the way I looked then, it’s a big difference.” The enormous house that Mashonda stood in was being foreclosed; she was leaving that house shown on the show to move into a town house in New Jersey with her young son Kaseem. “Lifestyle means absolutely nothing,” she explains. “I was blessed to experience living in a house that was 21,000 sq feet, driving Bentleys, that stuff comes and goes. I watched so many women lose their selves in that and they don’t know how to act when its gone. Its not going to last forever, so when it was over, it was over. I just knew it was time to start over. I live in a town house now, and I’m happy that it’s mine.” On why she’s too good to be one of these reality show broads: I just don’t feel like at this point in my life, Love and Hip Hop represents who I am, it’s just a chapter that is over,” she states. “When I shot the show, I thought that it was going to be like more of a sisterhood, but when I saw a lot of the drama and the beef, I was a little surprised, I was like wow, okay, I didn’t know this was going to be apart of what this is.” Not to worry: she’ll be back in the spotlight soon enough with a book which she says is “self-help/memoir”-ish, but isn’t a tell all. Actor also tells MTV News he was ‘amazed’ seeing Radcliffe on Broadway. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Freddie Stroma Photo: MTV News “Insanely overwhelming. Really, really strange.” That’s how “Harry Potter” star Freddie Stroma described what he was feeling as he walked the red carpet during the New York premiere of “Half-Blood Prince” in the summer of 2009. Almost two years later, not much has changed for the self-deprecating Brit, who stopped to chat with MTV News at the hectic premiere for the “Deathly Hallows, Part 1” DVD and said, above the roar of the fans, “I can’t get used to this. It’s just bizarre.” To be fair, Stroma hasn’t had as much practice as some of his co-stars, as he only joined the franchise (as the young, cocksure wizard Cormac McLaggen) for the sixth film. Yet once he signed on, the cast welcomed him into the fold. “When I first met Dan [Radcliffe], I came in and I was just doing a costume check,” Stroma said. “He introduced himself to me and said, ‘Hi, Freddie, how’s it going?’ And then two weeks later, he came up to me again and remembered my name. He meets hundreds of people every day, so that’s amazing. You feel like you’re coming into a family.” And like any good family, the cast is there to support one another in non-“Potter” matters. While he was in New York, Stroma caught a production of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” the Broadway musical in which Radcliffe currently stars. “Really good!” he said of the show. “Dan can dance, sing and act — who knew? I didn’t know. I was just amazed. And it was funny. It’s a funny show. Choreography is amazing as well.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Gondola rides, learning a new language, falling in love: Deena and Vinny tell MTV News their plans for next season and beyond. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Eric Ditzian and Ade Mangum Vinny Guadagnino Photo: MTV News The third season of “Jersey Shore” wrapped on Thursday night, but Seaside’s finest are already planning for the next installment of the show, which will take them to Italy. And that means the cast should probably brush up on their pregos and grazies before they land in the home of delicious spaghetti, fine leather goods and the Pope. “Can’t wait! I honestly can’t wait to get there and see the place,” Deena told MTV News this week. “For some reason, I really want to go on a gondola ride. Or I would like if we’re in Rome, I would like to see the love fountain, so I’m thinking I’ll steal a coin … maybe I’ll fall in love.” Meanwhile, her castmate Vinny told us he’d prepare for the next season of the hit reality series the same way he has for all of the past seasons. “Preparing for Italy is pretty much preparing for any of the other seasons, trying to get in shape, trying to spend some time with my family, chill out, the quiet before the storm,” he said. “I’m excited to be thrown right into the water with whatever language skills I have.” But the cast is also busier than ever with other projects and gigs. Pauly D’s ramping up for the debut of his own reality show , and fans can catch him spinning tunes at his DJ residency at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Vinny got a plum role on “The Hard Times of RJ Berger” and revealed he’s got some musical abilities, saying, “I dabble in music and it’s something I do for fun and if it’s good, it’s good.” No word on whether he’ll pursue that any further, but Vinny did add that he’d love to pursue more acting. “My future is very open. I like to do scripted types of things,” he told us. Snooki and JWoww have followed a somewhat similar path: Both are published authors, and both have appeared on wrestling-type programs. Now there’s chatter the two ladies might get their own show, casting them as reality-TV version of “Laverne and Shirley.” The Situation, of course, is already a budding entrepreneur, with a book and fitness DVD in stores and other deals in the pipeline. Earlier this year, the former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant began working on YOBI.tv’s “Random Talent” Web series with British comedian Ben Green. The Real Housewives of D.C. has not been renewed for a second season, according to Radar Online . Now if someone would just tell the cast members. The fifth installation of the hit reality franchise arrived with great hype last year, thanks in large part to White House party crasher Michaele Salahi . The downside, however, was that it pretty much sucked from day one. “The show just didn’t do well and it wasn’t worth airing another season,” a source said, noting that the cast still has not been officially told about it. “No one has been contacted yet and told that the show is canceled.” Perhaps, to borrow one of our favorite Office Space quotes , Bravo just decided to halt filming with no notice and “let things work out naturally”? In any case, Miami is also on the chopping block. The latest spinoff has done so poorly in the ratings, producers are scaling back, not expanding. “After DC failed in the ratings and Miami just bombed, they realized they can’t just start a show anywhere and it will succeed,” the source said. The flagship Orange County, Atlanta, New Jersey, New York and Beverly Hills housewives look safe for now. Safe, pompous and oh-so entertaining.
Well, that was quick! On the heels of yesterday’s news that he was officially joining the cast of The Dark Knight Rises , Variety is reporting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing Alberto Falcone, son of Tom Wilkinson’s Carmine Falcone, but better known perhaps as the Holiday Killer. So what do we know about Alberto?
We’ve already heard rumors that Kevin Costner might be joining the cast of the new Superman as Pa Kent, but now The Hollywood Reporter says that Viggo Mortensen is being eyed as a potential villain for the movie. Will he be Zod? Braniac? And where does this fit in with all the billions of other casting rumors ? And how sad will we all be once Batman and Superman finalize all their casting? So many questions.
