Rich Polk Getty Images for BET Jemele Hill Isn’t Surprised That ESPN Suspended Her ESPN host Jemele Hill stirred controversy after tweeting what everyone already knows about Donald Trump–that he is a white supremacist unfit to serve in the White House. ESPN gave Hill a 2-week paid suspension and received a lot of support standing with her, inspiring people calling and tweeting the network to let ESPN know we #StandWith Jemele. This weekend, TMZ caught up with Ms. Hill, and she told the publication that she most definitely “deserved” her two-week suspension from the network for violating social media policy. But not so fast, Hill also said she’ll “never take back what I said.” She’s still a real one, after all. Jemele spoke with TMZ at the Los Angeles International Airport, “I deserved a suspension. I violated policy…going forward we’ll be in a good, healthy place.” She also added: “I would tell people, absolutely, after my Donald Trump tweets, I deserved that suspension. I deserved it. Like, absolutely. I violated the policy.” Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists. — Jemele Hill (@jemelehill) September 11, 2017 Hill also said she’d only apologize for putting “ESPN in a bad spot,” but you won’t catch her saying sorry for what she said, because she’s still a firm believer in those sentiments. Jemele also expressed the gratitude for all of her supporters during this time and says that her time off was used for reflection. She is returning back to work on Monday.

I gnited by the sexual abuse allegations against film executive Harvey Weinstein , the #MeToo hashtag recently exploded on social media as women recounted their personal experiences with sexual assault to show their solidarity with the victims who came forward. Although the hashtag gained a lot of traction in recent weeks, what many people may not know is that the #MeToo movement was birthed by a Black woman nearly a decade ago, reports the Huffington Post . The 'Me Too' campaign was created by a black woman 10 years ago https://t.co/4V8b5jwv7L pic.twitter.com/08IecCqBYe — HuffPost BlackVoices (@blackvoices) October 17, 2017 Tarana Burke , the founder of a youth organization called Just Be Inc., started the “Me Too” campaign in 2007 as an avenue to provide support for those who have experienced sexual assault in underserved communities. Burke, 44, is a survivor of sexual abuse herself and says she launched the campaign to connect with women of color who have been through similar experiences. “It was a catchphrase to be used from survivor to survivor to let folks know that they were not alone and that a movement for radical healing was happening and possible,” she said in an interview, according to the source. According to the University of Kansas , studies show that nearly one in five Black women are the victims of sexual assault in the United States and only one woman of color out of 15 will report her rape. Last week, after tweeting out a call to action for women to share their stories of sexual assault using the #MeToo hashtag, several media outlets credited actress Alyssa Milano for starting the movement, the Huffington Post reports. Many people accused the outlets of appropriating the movement which sparked conversations about race, gender, and intersectionality within feminism. After it was brought to her attention that Burke was the originator, Milano took to Twitter on Monday to share information about the original project with her followers. I was just made aware of an earlier #MeToo movement, and the origin story is equal parts heartbreaking and inspiring https://t.co/tABQBODscE — Alyssa Milano (@Alyssa_Milano) October 16, 2017 Burke said that she was humbled by the fact that her idea connected and empowered so many women on social media. In a series of tweets, she delved into why she initially created the grassroots campaign. “The point of the work we’ve done over the last decade with the ‘me too movement’ is to let women, particularly young women of color know that they are not alone – it’s a movement,” Burke tweeted. “It’s beyond a hashtag. It’s the start of a larger conversation and a movement for radical community healing.” Black women have been at the forefront of social movements for centuries and its good to see them getting the credit that they deserve. School administrators in a community outside of Boston, Massachusetts, offered an apology after a photo appearing to show a young Black girl held on a leash by two white students, swept the internet. The photo shows an instructor along with two white students and one black student decked out in 17th-century attire, while the two white students held a leash attached to the young Black girl kneeling on the floor. A Bridgewater classroom photo shows two white third-graders holding a black child by a leash. https://t.co/KSsPBEVYru pic.twitter.com/ZPhg8frVJJ — The Boston Globe (@BostonGlobe) October 20, 2017 The third-grade classroom’s teacher shared the photo with her student’s parents, but outraged ensued once the photo was shared to Facebook, prompting complaints from parents. According to The Boston Globe , the photo was taken during an October 13 class discussion when a member of the Plimoth Plantation historical museum visited the class for a history lesson. Bridgewater is a small town located 32 miles south of Boston, Massachusetts. In an email obtained by The Globe, Derek Swenson , superintendent of the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District, apologized for the optics but went into great detail to give the photo context. School officials would not go into specific details or name the involved parties in order to protect the minors involved. “Through our investigation, it was explained by the director of education from Plimoth Plantation that a portion of the lesson focused on 17th century attire — particularly the garments worn by parents, children, toddlers, and infants,” he said. “Specifically the garment worn by toddlers commonly used tethering straps to assist them when learning to walk.” Rob Kluim, the museum’s spokesperson, also apologized for the photo in a statement to The Globe. He explained the students and instructor were depicting a 17th Century family, mother and her three children, with one of the children wearing a garment with leading strings. “We are deeply saddened by this, as our museum’s educational mission is to provide fun and engaging encounters with the history of the 17th-century Atlantic world,” Kluim said. Dionne Lees is some Scottish chick who was apparently an international Gymnast with Vitiligo, like she’s some Michael Jackson, only actually white, and who thought her Vitiligo was just a bad tan line, before realizing it was a skin disease, since Scottish people never see the sun and girl was just pasty white her entire life, until catching her first tan and seeing that it was uneven… Well, like all girls everywhere, she’s embracing her handicap, that isn’t really a handicap and is more of a condition, that I guess isn’t deemed marketable or mainstream, even though there are at least two high fashion models with Vitiligo…and she’s taking ownership on her issue in a “Vitiligo” lives matter…and they do matter…especially when in bikini… Because Dionne understands clickbait and the importance of a bikini pic, while that bikini pic has a reason, like empowerment for a disorder….and isn’t just shameless.. I like her thinking….and her big spotty titties.. The post Dionne Lees the Gymnast with Vitiligo of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .
