Catelynn Lowell Mom-Shamed by Jerks for No Longer Breastfeeding Vaeda

Tyler Baltierra is determined to prove that he still loves Catelynn Lowell , and he’s not doing a bad job of it. On Sunday’s Teen Mom OG , Catelynn opened up about her desire to stop breastfeeding baby Vaeda. Mom-shamers swarmed over her on social media, but Tyler is firmly defending her choice. “It’s hard,” Catelynn confessed on Teen Mom OG . “People always post the wonderful things about breast-feeding, which is wonderful …” she acknowledged. Breastfeeding provides a baby with vital nutrients, immune support, gut flora, and can be an important bonding process for mother and child. “But,” Catelynn observed. “They don’t mention that you have your kid stuck to you for 24 hours.” Yep. A lot of conversations skip that part. Catelynn then pours over a list of gripes about the harsh realities of breastfeeding. “Or you’re afraid they’re not getting enough,” she suggested. “Or,” she added. “They want to eat 60 times a day.” That’s just a little over twice an hour. Catelynn also warned: “or about the bleeding nipples.” Catelynn also laid out the logistical problems of being your baby’s sole food source. “[With] nursing, it’s hard for me to even schedule my own therapy,” Catelynn admitted in the clip. She explained that this was true “because it’s an hour and a half there.” “I could take her with me,” Catelynn admitted. “And nurse when I’m there.” That’s not an ideal therapy appointment. Catelynn was openly worried that deciding to quit breasteeding Vaeda would be viewed as “selfish” by Teen Mom OG fans. Okay, let’s be real — by mom-shamers. Catelynn even pointed out that Vaeda had already gotten all of the “antibodies and proteins” that she needed. But still, it was good to hear Tyler support her decision. “You’re a great mom,” Tyler affirmed. “You’re going to do whatever is best for you and the baby, period.” However, mom-shamers on social media lashed out with cruel messages about Catelynn’s choice. “It’s not difficult, it’s easy,” claimed one mom-shamer. “Not bottles, just you and baby to breast. And it’s healthier, no doubt.” “I breastfed all four of my kids and never once looked for applause, recognition, or admiration,” boasted another. “Does everything these dolts do require applause? ” Another shamer accused: “with your public platform, and knowing that there are significant benefits to breast feeding, I think this is irresponsible.” People are so judgmental about the most harmless stuff sometimes. Tyler clapped back, continuing to support his wife with a post on Twitter. ” Vaeda is the happiest, healthiest little baby I have ever seen!” Tyler announced. “So, a little advice to all of you ‘Pinterest Perfect Parents’,” he continued. Tyler wrote: “If that baby didn’t develop in your uterus, you don’t have a right to say what’s best for that baby. PERIOD.” He concluded his powerfully defensive tweet with a pair of hashtags: ” #FedisBest   #MomsKnowBest ” Note that “Fed Is Best” is not about the Fed, but about the idea that feeding a baby is more important than feeding that baby breastmilk, specifically. Some babies have gone malnourished because a parent struggled to nurse them and were convinced that formula was poison . That must never happen again. Here’s Why #BlackGirlBeachDay Is THE Melanin Meet Up To Attend…And It’s Happening On This Historically Black Beach!

Source: Courtesy / @BlackGirlBeachDay A little positivity! ‘Black Girl Beach Day’ Returns To Historically Black Atlantic City Beach Attention: Black women and girls needing a safe space to lay down your towels and boogie-board in the Tri-State area. After successfully hosting over 300 people of color last summer, #BlackGirlBeachDay is BACK. The event was born from the brilliant minds of Christina Bright and Snap Lancaster . After the friends curated a small beach gathering two years ago Black Women from all over attended the next year, expanding their attendance nearly tenfold. Unfortunately, the ladies ran into some struggles including cops harassing them over ‘loud music’. Now they’re legitimizing the meetup. This year’s event will include security, lifeguards, a carpool and a plethora of activities. Even more impressive, they’re taking their talents to Atlantic City’s historically Black Chicken Bone Beach . This landmark was a HOT SPOT for Black folks in the area which was segregated up until the 1960s… View this post on Instagram After @normablonde_ commented under one of our pics a few months back that we should consider #CHICKENBONEBEACH for our next location …we did our googles and our JAWS DROPPED! As two women who were born and raised in Jersey why didn’t we know that such a rich history was right on the #JerseyShore ?!?? . A QUICK HISTORY LESSON: In the mid 20th century, there was a rising black middle class that wanted to participate in all the recreational activities the city offered. Chicken Bone Beach was a rare haven for families seeking some oceanside relief from the heat and quickly became a HOT SPOT! . . . When Chicken Bone Beach was segregated , many of the nearby restaurants refused to serve black customers. As such, families would have to pack their own picnic lunches. Their leftovers would litter the beach, scattered by animals and the elements. The name Chicken Bone Beach arose from the large amounts of leftover bones found in the sand. With the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, all Atlantic City beaches were open to everyone and this all-black beach disappeared. By the 1970s Casinos further changed the culture of the beach by making Atlantic City into a world class resort which in turn limited access to all working class families. To protect this endangered African American heritage site, the Atlantic City Council passed an ordinance in 1997, declaring Chicken Bone Beach (also known as the Missouri Avenue Beach) into an historical landmark. . . Fast forward , in 2019 @blackgirlbeachday wants to share the rich history and heritage of #CHICKENBONEBEACH with the masses by hosting our 3rd and BIGGEST #blackgirlbeachday here! Tag a friend , share, and let’s continue to remind the world of the legacies our ancestors built !!!! A post shared by Black Girl Beach Day (@blackgirlbeachday) on Jul 26, 2019 at 11:56am PDT Even our boy MLK was on this historic beach! Seems like a dope place to get your beach day on. Textual Healing: The Best Way To Flirt Via Text, According To Experts

Source: ELIJAH NOUVELAGE / Getty Texting is one of the easiest forms of communication. You can send a quick message while working out, in the office, or on the run. Even though texting gets a bad wrap for being one of the lower forms of relationship building, it can be super convenient when you want to just send out some flirty vibes to a current or potential boo. Plus, it alleviates the pressure of on the spot sexinesss. “Texting allows you to craft your best flirt without distractions and without the anticipation of seeing an instantaneous reaction,”  Fran Greene, licensed clinical social worker and author of The Secret Rules of Flirting Elite Daily. “You can add, delete, and even get a friend’s opinion if you need another set of eyes- all before you hit send.” Now, you do have to have a bit more tact over text, because in the absence of facial expressions or body language, it can be harder to convey what you want to say. “Having a warm body smack in front of you gives you lots of nonverbal cues that are nonexistent when you’re flirting via texting,” Greene explained. That perfect emoji will melt the heart of your crush.” Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news.  ( Terms and conditions ). While you should expand your initiation to more than one word, make sure you only send a few sentences at once. “Limit your text to a few sentences at most, then await your crush’s response,”  Greene advised.  “It’s a lot like a great tennis match, a lot of back and forth.” [ione_media_gallery src=”https://rickeysmileymorningshow.com” id=”1909583″ overlay=”true”] This story was originally posted on MadameNoire.com .  ALSO TRENDING ON RICKEYSMILEYMORNINGSHOW.COM : LisaRaye Goes Off On Nicole Murphy [VIDEO] 3-Year-Old Girl Killed By Her Father After Running Out To Greet Him A Lela Rochon Appreciation Post: The Brown Bombshell Of The 90s [PHOTOS] Follow @TheRSMS

MTV Might Scrub Michael Jackson’s Name From Video Vanguard Award

Continue reading here:

Source: George Rose / Getty One of MTV’s most honored statues at the Video Music Awards ceremony may change its name, according to a new report from Page Six . The Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, named for the late singer, is usually given to a performer who has created timeless pieces of art through the medium of music videos. Reportedly executives at the network are looking to change the name in order to distance themselves after the fallout of the explosive accusations made in HBO’s Leaving Neverland documentary. In the two-part series, two of Michael Jackson ’s former mentees, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, claim they were sexually abused by the singer over a period of years while they were minors. Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news.  ( Terms and conditions ). “There’s a lot of heated discussion at the network about how to handle the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award this year, and it’s getting ugly,” a source told Page Six. “There’s talk about if they should change the name, or get rid of it altogether. [There’s also talk] about who would present it and who would accept it. It’s a mess.” “MTV [potentially] banning his name is the latest fallout. They haven’t decided yet, but they’ve been going back and forth on it. There are a lot of issues,” a source continued. The allegations made by Robson and Safechuck have been refuted by Jackson’s family and his estate. In February Jackson’s estate filed a $100 million dollar lawsuit against the network, claiming it had breached a prior contract by making disparaging remarks about the singer. HBO has countered, saying the terms of the contract have long since expired. The award first appeared in 1984 at the network’s inaugural show, and Jackson received the award in 1988. It was later named after the pop star in 1991. Rihanna, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lopez are some of the A-listers who have received the honor. Nominees for the award categories were announced last week, with Taylor Swift, Arianna Grande and Lil Nas X topping the list. The network has not yet announced who will receive the award in 2019. The Rock Lays The Smackdown On Eddie Murphy, Kevin Hart & Terry Crews Funny A**es | Extra Butter

View post:

On this episode of Extra Butter with Xilla Valentine – We stop in two locations, Hawaii and London to sit down with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham for their new movie Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw. The dynamic duo talks about crafting a new world inside the F&F universe and more. The Rock comments on a tweet that went viral sparking the internet to go nuts when someone asked who’s funniest? Kevin Hart, Eddie Murphy, Terry Crews or The Rock. Well, Dwayne channeled his old WWE persona to layeth the smackdown on all of their funny asses. The tweet was sent out a couple of weeks ago, a person by the twitter name “@RepliesBro” posed a ridiculous question that broke the internet. He asked, Who is funniest? Kevin Hart, Eddie Murphy, Terry Crews, and The Rock. Who is Funniest? pic.twitter.com/xPNLraLfkO — Bold Man (@repliesbro) July 13, 2019 The question sparked the large debate on twitter and the end result was Eddie Murphy becoming the number 1 trend on twitter. Terry Crews even chimed in saying Eddie Murphy by far. Eddie Murphy— by far https://t.co/a0RB7ViIU0 — terry crews (@terrycrews) July 14, 2019 But now we have The Rock’s take on this question, which we assume was just in jest, but after seeing Hobbs and Shaw, I think its clear The Rock is one of the best comedic actors of all time. So when I asked Dwayne Johnson about this tweet his answer was epic. “I don’t know if I want to be the funniest actor in the game, I just want to bring the funny when the time is right, but who is on that list?” As I started to explain to him, who made the list, he interrupts. “It’s going to be Kevin Hart, Terry Crews, It’s gonna be Eddie Murphy. It could be Killian Murphy. The only thing that matters is The Rock is the most electrifying man in all of entertainment and the most funniest guy walking God’s green Earth is going to kick all of their candy asses.” Lastly, The Rock opened up about his daughter joining WWE and working out at the performance center as he stopped by there last week to see her put in the work in becoming a WWE superstar. I love that she wants to get in the business, I love the business of pro wrestling, I grew up in it, and she grew up in it too. Dwayne goes on to say that he gave his daughter some advice about her progress and reminded her that she still has a lot of room to grow. “I said They’re adults and you are the youngest one. You started at 16 and she’s 17 now. She’s been training just under a year. You gotta be patient, it’s going to come. You’re gonna make mistakes, don’t worry about your timing right now. You just gotta go full speed and come from (The heart). I would have never have guessed that I would have a daughter at 29 and years later she is going to want to get into the same business of Rock Bottoms and suplexes and things like that it’s so cool.” Hobbs and Shaw shows Hobbs as a father and you can see the film when it hits theaters August, 2nd, 2019.

Model Monday: HBCU Dancer DaQuendra Elston Never Let Her Size Hold Her Back

Here is the original post:

Source: Renato Rimach / Photo Credit: Renato Rimach Name: DaQuendra Elston IG: @daquendra  Agency: State Model Management Claim to Fame: DaQuendra won the Torrid model search. She also appeared on America’s Got Talent with her dance troupe the Honeybeez . On a balmy July afternoon most members of the Alabama State University graduating class of 2019 are working diligently behind the desks of their entry level jobs and hard-won internships ; DaQuendrea Elston isn’t among them. The model and dancer is spending her post-grad summer day sitting on set chilling in her robe between looks. In an exclusive interview with HelloBeautiful before the next take , she explained how she went from shaking her hips in one of the most impressive marching bands in the world to walking the catwalk for some of fashion’s biggest names. She explained, “In elementary, high school, college it’s always been somebody trying to knock me down and say I can’t do something cause of my size and unintentionally I always end up proving them wrong,” she said. I was a tomboy growing up, so I never really was girly and took pictures. But as I got older, I did gain more confidence in myself. I loved to dress nice and look cute,” she said. The way the shift in her style highlighted her beauty led to her family pleading with her to try modeling as she gained more and more followers on Instagram with each outfit post. “Everybody was like you should model! I guess Elvis’ granddaughter who never met Elvis which reduces the cool factor being Elvis’ granddaughter by quite a bit, but she’s still Elvis’ granddaughter and that is pretty fucking cool…because he’s fucking Elvis. To not be a fan of the “KING” is to not be human….seriously. So this heir to his fortune, that is still fucking earns, is pretty interesting, not because her mom Lisa Marie Presley, who was the most active member of the Church of Scientolgy since L.Ron himself, thanks to her mom , Elvis’ teenage bride Priscilla raising her in the church….they have both been shunned or ousted from Scientology after a 40 year run…but I’m pretty sure Riley is still all about it as she does the whole acting thing…but what the fuck do I know…other than that she hangs with Scientologists and they aren’t allowed to hang with her if she was ousted….complicated cult things… That said, she seems to like wearing bikinis on social media, like all girls and I’m into it cuz I think Elvis is great…and his Sperm created this…which is probably why most people are interested in her….so you get them in with the Elvis connection but make them fall in love with you thanks to your half nudes… The post Riley Keough Scientlogy Bikini Pics of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .

Simone Manuel wins historic world title as Dressel breaks Phelps' 100m butterfly mark https://t.co/7kCcmauNa9 — Guardian US (@GuardianUS) July 26, 2019 Manuel—who hails from Houston, Texas—made it to the finish line in 52.04 seconds. She edged out Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjostrom and Australia’s Cate Campbell . She is the second woman to win two consecutive world titles. The first woman to do so was swimmer Kornelia Ender 44 years ago. This isn’t the first time that Manuel has made history. In 2016 she became the first Black woman to win an individual Olympic gold medal in swimming. Her impact goes far beyond the water. Manuel is big on philanthropy and is on a mission to diversify swimming. “The gold medal wasn’t just for me; it was for people that came before me and inspired me to stay in the sport,” she told the New York Times in an interview. “For people who believe that they can’t do it, I hope I’m an inspiration to others to get out there and try swimming. You might be pretty good at it.” Earlier this year, she visited LeBron James ’ I Promise School in Akron, Ohio to talk with students about water safety and encourage them to learn how to swim. In partnership with the Akron Area YMCA, she will provide all of the students with swimming lessons this summer. She is also spreading awareness about the high drowning rate within the Black community and is working hard to reverse the alarming trend. “The most important thing is saving lives more than winning gold medals. Representation is important,” she said . Jenelle Evans: But Like, Do I HAVE to Take Care of My Kids?

Breaking news: Jenelle Evans is not a good mom. Ha ha, just kidding — the “breaking news” part was a joke because the fact that Jenelle is a bad mom has been public knowledge for years now. It’s just … she’s so bad at it, you know? As much as she wants everyone to believe that she’s “a damn good mom,” her actions tell a very different story. Would a damn good mom give up custody of her first child before he had his first birthday? Would a damn good mom get pregnant again before she regained custody of her first child? Would a damn good mom get pregnant again  after that, then marry a man that’s been accused several times of abusing one of her kids while the other kid directly told her he didn’t want her to marry him? Look, we could sit here all day and ask questions like that, but it would get too sad and you might get too depressed to get to the main point of this story. The main point, obviously, being the latest example of how Jenelle really is just the worst. So, OK, we all remember how David killed Jenelle’s dog and CPS removed Kaiser, Ensley, and Maryssa from their home, right? Of course we do — it’s kind of hard to forget such a horrifying story. That happened in May, they were in court several times in June, and then at the beginning of this month, a judge ordered that all the kids be returned to The Land . The family has only been back together for a few weeks, and already Jenelle is showing her true colors. Her true, gross colors. On Twitter and Facebook, she asked the following question: “When are kids too old for birthday parties? Serious question. I want to know what everyone thinks.” Now, that might just be something she was curious about and wanted to discuss. But Jace turns 10 next Friday, and Maryssa turns 12 a couple of days after that. So everyone knows what she’s really asking — and the answers showed that. “I think you’re a terrible mom that doesn’t want to throw parties for anyone but Ensley,” one person commented. Another said “I can’t imagine that any parent would allow their child to attend a party hosted by junkes, dog killers and child abusers.” As one follower pointed out, “Shouldn’t you throw a party so you can put the pics on IG and keep up the facade of being a parent? But then someone asked “Is this your way of saying Maryssa won’t get a party this year?”, and it feels like that’s really the issue here. Jenelle’s mother, Barbara, has full custody of Jace, and she always throws him a party. He might have another celebration at Jenelle’s house, but his big party has always been with Barbara. Unfortunately, David does have custody of Maryssa, and what’s especially unfortunate is that during the court proceedings, we learned that he and Jenelle don’t even really want custody . Remember the report about how they decided that they were only fighting for Ensley and Kaiser, that Maryssa could stay with her grandmother? They reached that decision after Maryssa allegedly refused to speak to David during one of their supervised visits — something that was said to have infuriated him. The girl also testified in court, telling everyone what truly goes on in the Eason home. What she said was never made public, but we did hear that what she had to say wasn’t very positive. [EXCLUSIVE] Then the justice system failed, and now Maryssa has to live with those people again — and apparently one of her punishments is that she doesn’t get a birthday party. But sure, Jenelle, tell us more about what a damn good mom you are.
