Making It Rain On Them Mini-Mogul Hoes: Justin Bieber Named Adidas NEO’s Global Style Icon

Justin Bieber’s a Global Style Icon?? Since when? According to Celebuzz… Justin Bieber was named the new global style icon of Adidas NEO, the company announced Tuesday. The 18-year-old singer signed a two-year contract with the fashion label and will be the face of NEO’s campaigns under their “Live Your Style” slogan. The “As Long As You Love Me” singer explained, “I found a real connection with NEO because it is about fashion, freedom and being true to who you are.” What does fashion mean to Bieber? “With my new album, Believe, I am spreading the message of believing yourself in fashion. The first step is showing who you are, and one of the great ways to showcase yourself is through fashion.” Bieber said. Bieber takes his style – and his new title as global style icon – very seriously. “For me, style is an adventure, something to have fun with and NEO believes this too.” Bieber’s responsibilities will include inspiring teens with the label’s new fresh looks, making appearances on behalf of the brand, and sharing the latest news and collections through his impressive social media networks. His reign will begin with a Spring/Summer 2013 campaign – to debut in February. Is this a good move for Adidas? Images via WENN

Churches Defy The IRS With Plans To Screen ’2016: Obama’s America’

That controversial documentary is back in the headlines again , and it’s all because some well-known mega-churches plan to hold screenings of the film in the coming weeks! According to The Hollywood Reporter : A handful of churches already have signed on before the filmmakers even started to market the initiative. One of them, the influential mega-church Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, licensed the film for $299 and will show it to an expected 500 congregants Saturday, and Calvary Chapel Downey did likewise for the following Saturday. Neither church responded to an interview request from The Hollywood Reporter. According the IRS code, 501(c)(3) organizations, including churches, are restricted from electioneering, which includes actively supporting or opposing one presidential candidate over another. But organizations have been known to challenge such boundaries. Conservatives, for example, routinely question whether the self-described “progressive” organization Media Matters for America is deserving of its tax-exempt status. The law is murky, too, as applied to churches. Pastors are allowed to endorse candidates on a personal level and even lend their names to candidates for use in political ads, as long as the church is left out of the equation. This week, for example, the Rev. Billy Graham met with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and told him that he would do “all I can” to help him win, and Graham had no problem with the campaign dstributing photos of the meeting and speaking to reporters about the de facto endorsement. Some conservative churches want the same partisan privileges that individuals such as Graham enjoy, so they have been purposely flaunting the law, arguing that liberal-oriented churches get away with partisan behavior all the time. One popular refrain, for example, is that the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago were firmly behind Obama’s presidential run in 2008, so why should any church be prevented from supporting Romney in 2012? Last Sunday, hundreds of conservative preachers across the country participated in Pulpit Freedom Sunday, an event staged once a year since 2008 whereby church leaders endorse political candidates and positions. Organized by Alliance Defending Freedom, its goal is to force a response from the IRS so that the issue can be resolved in a court of law, said the group’s senior legal counsel Erik Stanley. “The 58-year-old Johnson Amendment in the tax code — which is what the IRS uses to restrict what pastors can and cannot say from the pulpit — is unconstitutional,” Stanley said. Naturally, some liberals disagree. Two days ahead of Pulpit Freedom Sunday, Brendan Kiley, who has written for Newsweek and the Forward, wrote at TheStranger.com that “over a thousand American preachers are going to strike a craven blow against the separation of church and state and doll it up as if they’re doing liberty and the First Amendment a favor.” Dinesh d’Souza, the star and co-director of 2016, told The Hollywood Reporter that churches should not fear the IRS if they screen his movie. “The last time I checked we still live in a free country,” he said. “My film takes no partisan sides – I don’t urge a vote for or against Obama – I just want people to think and make an informed decision. This film is well within the limits of protected free speech in a church setting.” While some legal scholars agree with those sentiments, current law may not be on the side of churches that license 2016, Stanley said. Like it or not, churches have always dipped their feet in politics. How do you feel about preachin’ politics from the pulpit?? Images via facebook

Making It Rain On Them Hoes: Tyra’s Co-creating And Producing New ABC Comedy Entitled ‘Fivehead’

At least the title sounds funny. Will this show bring in the same ratings as ANTM though? According to Yahoo News: America’s Next Top Model executive producer/star Tyra Banks is making her first foray into scripted series with Fivehead, a single-camera comedy for ABC based on her teen years. Banks is co-creating/executive producing Fivehead with Kenya Barris (Fox’s I Hate My Teenage Daughter), a childhood friend and longtime business partner with whom Banks also co-created America’s Next Top Model, now in its 19th cycle. Fivehead, produced by ABC Studios, chronicles the impressionable teenage years of Banks in the halls of her high school and at home, focusing on her family and the long journey that took Banks from awkward teen to one of the world’s most recognizable supermodels. “In high school, if you have glasses, you’re a ‘four eyes’, if you have braces, you’re a ‘metal mouth’ but if you had my forehead? You’re a FIVEHEAD,” said Banks. Barris and Banks will co-create together the characters and the story for Fivehead, and Barris will write the script. The two first met when they were 6-year-olds and attended school together, which gives Barris a first-hand account of the very times Banks and he will be reminiscing about in Fivehead. “To be able to witness her career was wild, but to be able to watch Tyra grow up was nothing short of nutty,” said Barris. “I am blown away by the opportunity to tell not just a great story but a story that I remember so fondly.” Congrats Tyra. For Real?? Kris ‘Kardashian’ Jenner Set To Have Her Own Talk Show?!?!

Wonder how long this will last?? And we’re hoping this attention slore will just stop, go home, and be a nice wifey to Bruce?? According to The Post: Throw another Kardashian on the pile. Kris Jenner, the tireless “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” matriarch and mom-ager of the clan’s $65-million business empire, is quietly working on a daily talk show for Fox, sources say. Jenner, 56, has been hankering for her own talk show for some time now. She’s appeared all over daytime TV since the family’s reality show became a hit — guest hosting on “The View” and the CBS daytime talk show, “The Talk.” Last July, gossip site hollywoodlife.com reported that Jenner was “very interested” in hosting a daytime talk show with Khloe Kardashian as part of their $40 million deal with E! But now that Khloe is set to become a co-host — with Mario Lopez — of Simon Cowell’s “X Factor” starting next month, Kris appear ready to move on without her. The show is to be done by Twentieth (which, like The Post, is owned by News Corp). Spokesmen for Twentieth and Jenner did not return e-mails asking for comment this morning. New BET Doc ‘Second Coming?: Will Black America Decide the 2012 Election’ Makes Us Wonder Too…[Video]

Will we rally together again and help Barack gain a second term ? The new two-part special will give us an in-depth, behind the scenes look into the activism that many in our community choose to do; taking the time to help spread the word and encourage folks to vote: BET News has partnered with the Brick City TV producers Marc Levin and Mark Benjamin, (producers of the Peabody Award-winning and twice Emmy nominated series “Brick City”) and Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award nominated filmmaker Sam Pollard (“Slavery By Another Name” and “Four Little Girls”) to produce a two-part news documentary, “SECOND COMING?: Will Black America Decide the 2012 Election.” The documentary follows a diverse constellation of agents of political change and activism through the 2012 election cycle. Obama surrogate Kerry Washington, Usher, Samuel L. Jackson, Reverend Al Sharpton, Reverend. Jesse Jackson, Eve, Ice Cube, Yolanda Adams, pollster Cornell Belcher, Common, Snoop Dogg, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, The RZA, Salt N Pepa, DMX, Redman, Cam’ron, Bun B, Joyful Drake, Warren G and Brandon & Lorielle Broussard, the young activists behind “Barack The Vote.” Narrated by S. Epatha Merkerson the series will also focus on grassroots activists in battleground states Tarsha Williams, Charles Perry, Pastor Jamal Bryant and others who will take viewers behind the scenes of their effort to mobilize the black community to vote in another historic Presidential election. Premiering Friday October 19 & Friday October 26 at 9 PM ET/PT, the character-driven series, rich with political insight and actuality, will marry journalism and reality television in a seminal effort to capture the African-American perspective on the 2012 elections in all its complexity. The producers capture both consensus and division among black organizers, celebrities and operatives as they wrestle with the process of making change and mobilizing voters to impact the Presidential race. The docu-series will follow behind-the-scenes efforts to mobilize the black vote against the backdrop of urban youth violence, the debate over gay marriage, and the economic crisis. “This groundbreaking series is a must see for the BET audience.” Said Executive Producer Sam Pollard “The series digs deep and hits hard and is a must see for viewers in understanding how they can’t just be bystanders but fully engaged in this historic election.” We hope this series will help shed some light on many of the political issues that effect our community and will bring back that sense of hope we’ve lost since 2008′s close race. No matter what your stance is on gay marriage, women’s rights, the economy, etc., we’re pretty sure Robney isn’t going to suddenly relate to us if he wins come November. Images via WENN

No Impact? BET Releases Statement After Scuffle Backstage

What do you think about all this bullisht? We’ve all read about the backstage scuffle that went down at BET’s Hip Hop Awards over the weekend and a lot of folks have spoken out against the beef since it happened Saturday night. BET finally released a statement and we’re wondering if they dismissed it a little too quickly. Tonight during a taping of the BET Hip Hop Awards 2012 (not the BET Awards, which went down without incident two months ago) an altercation between two rap entourages broke out backstage. Atlanta police and BET security quickly defused the altercation. According to the Associated Press, police spokesman Carlos Campos said officers responded to the scuffle at around 7:30 p.m. EST Campos says there were no shots fired. More drama unfolded as two men were involved in a fistfight in the parking lot of the venue. BET Networks issued a statement in response to the many inaccurate reports and rumors circulating on social media. “BET Networks works very hard to bring the best in entertainment to the city of Atlanta. For the past 7 years BET has celebrated the true art form of Hip Hop. Due to some misjudgment of select attendees, it is unfortunate that certain incidents took place. BET Networks does not condone any type of violence. Local authorities are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Despite the actions of a few the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards embodied the true spirit of hip hop and was not impacted at all by any incidents.” What do you think about the way it was handled…does stating that the event “was not impacted at all by any incidents” really ring true? Money Mayweather’s Ex Says She’s Not Mad About All Those Beatings

What is this…a trend? Rihanna’s kissing Breezy and telling O he’s the love of her life and now Floyd’s ex banger boo Josie’s telling us she “loves Floyd to death” (and he’s engaged right??). SMH According to TMZ… The woman Floyd Mayweather Jr. beat in front of their children is a forgiving soul, claiming she no longer holds a grudge and wants to bury the hatchet. Josie Harris tells us, she and Floyd are trying to put their fighting past behind them so they can raise their three kids in a stable environment. You’ll recall … Floyd was popped back in 2010 after Josie accused him of striking her “multiple times in the head with his fist” and then threatening to kill her. Josie and Floyd’s children were present. Floyd later pled guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence and served two months in jail. Now Josie says, “S**t happens. I’m not mad at him at all … I love Floyd to death.” She adds, “[Floyd] loves his kids and is a great father. He would never do anything like that again … I’m sorry the situation happened … now we will just progress and start over and move forward together.” Do you think it’s a coincidence that she’s saying all of this now?
