Kelis showed off her culinary creds during The Melts opening night in Hollywood the other day and, according to sources, she didn’t disappoint when she jumped behind the counter… Popular Bay Area fast casual grilled cheese restaurant The Melt celebrated the opening of their first Los Angeles location in Hollywood recently with founder Jonathan Kaplan, who is best known as the founder of the The Flip video camera. Invited guests enjoyed music by DJ Valida while sampling The Melt’s food & soup combo offerings. Award winning, multi-platinum recording artist Kelis who was in town working on a new album stopped by the event and was quickly brought behind the counter once Kaplan found out she was also a certified chef and graduate of the Cordon Bleu. Stevie’s not afraid to tell it like it is ; even if it means getting some criticism for standing up for what he believes in . While he’s pulled out of the concert (which raises money for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces), some are questioning why he agreed to do it in the first place. According to BBC News , Stevie released a statement explaining exactly why he was backing out: …”I am and have always been against war, any war, anywhere.” A ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas is currently in place, after a week of violence in Gaza last month. But tensions still run high. On Friday, Israel announced it would authorize the construction of 3,000 more housing units in occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The decision followed a UN General Assembly vote to upgrade the Palestinians’ status to non-member observer state. Next week’s gala concert supports an organization which raises money for Israeli soldiers and their families. Wonder said the United Nations (and other organizations) had recommended cancelling his performance because he is an official UN “Messenger of Peace”. In his statement, the 62-year-old said he had made the decision with a heavy heart. “Given the current and very delicate situation in the Middle East, and with a heart that has always cried out for world unity, I will not be performing,” he added. The musician said he would make contributions to charities that support Israeli and Palestinian children with disabilities. While the FIDF organization is seemingly for a good cause, you’ve got to admit that seeing Stevie sing at a charity event raising money for Israeli anything would have left a bad taste in some of our mouths; even Former President Jimmy Carter has compared Israel’s actions to apartheid. Yeezy just got pulled into a dayum mess… SMH. According to TMZ … Kanye West has officially been dragged into the longest, most ridiculous divorce case ever — Kris Humphries made Kim’s rapper/bf sit for a deposition … TMZ has learned. Kim’s lawyer, disso-queen Laura Wasser, is in court right now, essentially asking the judge to make Kris either s**t or get off the pot. As Wasser put it, “She [Kim] is now handcuffed to Mr. Humphries.” Wasser mentioned Kris and his lawyers are now raising issues over the prenup he signed, which we know gives him squat. Wasser also expressed frustration that Kris is dragging his feet — he hasn’t even deposed Kim yet. Wasser calls the whole thing a “fishing expedition.” The judge said he’ll set a trial date February 15. Hey, it’s the day after Valentine’s Day. Sweet. Marriage is real folks! Images via WENN

Foxx is starring in Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming film Django Unchained, which is coming out Christmas Day, and Ne-Yo’s R.E.D. dropped November 6th.
