New technology for creating Music Sheets from Audio

A research team of telecommunications engineers from the Universidad de Jaén in Jaen, Spain, have created a new way to transcribe music into individual notes. POPSCI reports described the new automated system as “determines the spectral pattern of an instrument’s musical notes. The pattern is used to create a harmonic dictionary, which is paired with a pattern algorithm. The system then determines which note is which, and converts the information into a readable format. Given a WAV file of a recording, the software can produce a MIDI transcription.” Simply put, your input is normal audio music, and the output is a fully transcribed music sheet. Various applications of this new method include areas of research on older music pieces. Although midi transcription technology is hardly new, this method is different in the sense that it creates its dictionary of sounds – learning as it analyzes more.  The current model is limited only to one instrument at a time, but the engineers of the University of Jaen at working to expand to software to include transcribing multiple instruments at a time. Also, you can be an Administrative Professionals Day 2010 lover. Meaning, you show some love for the admin people who work so hard. Try to be one of the admin professionals on this Administrative Professionals Day 2010. You can also download greeting cards and send them to show that you appreciate their hard work and friendship. Don’t forget to make this day special for the Administrative Professionals out there on Admnistrative Professionals Day 2010. Today Is Earth Day

Today April 22 is proclaimed as Earth Day. On April 22, 1970 first earth day was celebrated in the U.S. In Canada, Earth Day is also celebrated and this year they are celebrating their 20th century. About 60 million Canadians are expected to participate in Earth Day. This celebration is not only limited to U.S. and Canada, but it is celebrated all around the world. Gaylord Nelson was the founder of earth day. The main reason behind Earth Day was to protect mother earth by providing protection to its environment. The budget of $124,000 was allocated to this day and it had taken seven months for planning the celebration carefully. Student environmental activists play a very crucial role in it. They give guidance to the community and make them aware of the significance of this day. Protecting mother earth is the responsibility of every individual. It is important that we should work together to make our earth clean. Let’s make everyday as Earth Day in order to have a good and clean environment to live in. April 22 is Earth Day: Happy 40th Anniversary

April 22, 2010 marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. It was founded by US Senator Gaylord Nelson way back April 22, 1970. It was designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. During his speech in 1970, Nelson said “Our goal is not just an environment of clean air and water and scenic beauty. The objective is an environment of decency, quality and mutual respect for all other human being and all living creatures.” It has been estimated that 1.5 billion people from all race, religion and gender will come together for this worthwhile cause, and get involved in a number of activities and events. As inhabitants of this planet, it just rightful that we should celebrate Earth Day not only during April 22 but everyday of our lives. This earth that we have allowed us to have a place to live and as we pack, it is our duty to take care of it. Shayne Lamas Got Married To Nick Richie

The reality Star Shayne Lamas, daughter of Lorenzo Lamas, tied knot with Nick Richie, the founder of TheDirty.com, over the weekend at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. The couple confirmed the nuptials on Twitter on Monday. They both posted the same message “I am more than happy to confirm last night I got married to an amazing person and we are extremely excited to share our lives together.” The couple’s wedding was beautiful as described by a source. The legal ceremonies at the Little White Wedding Chapel lasted about 10 minutes. Although the couple only knew each other for a few weeks, they felt that they are right for each other. Venezuela Celebrates 200th Anniversary With Caracas Parade

Venezuela celebrates its bicentennial and festivals have been taking place in the Venezuela capital, Caracas. A Caracas parade included the military and several groups from all over Venezuelan society. Allies of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez namely President Raul Castro from Cuba and President Evo Morales from Bolivia are also present to attend the celebrations. A parade gathering from every sector of society has marched past the socialist leader together with the Venezuela’s Olympic Athletes, Afro-Caribbean descendants and indigenous groups. The military with F-16 fighter jets has also been in attendance and screaming overhead. Red T-shirts, red baseball caps and Venezuelan flags are all over the place.
