Over the past two days, Twitter and Instagram timelines looked like a “retirement home” thanks to FaceApp , which takes a photo and ages it using its impressive face altering technology. After it was learned that app is Russia-based, Democratic Senator, Chuck Schumer is calling for an investigation. It’s perfectly understandable why granting anything Russian-based access to private information raises red flags in the United States. This is the same country that successfully hacked our electoral system paving the way for the orange menace in the White House. Chuck Schumer announced on Twitter that he is calling for an investigation on a federal level into the company that owns the app. He is claiming there are potential national security and privacy risks to millions of Americans. Kate Gosselin’s eldest daughters Mady and Cara sure grew up fast! The twins, who seem to be closer to their mom than their six siblings, recently celebrated their high school graduation . Now Kate and the twins are bursting with excitement for the next chapter of their lives. This fall, the twins will finally separate as they each fly the nest and head to different colleges. “They’re both so excited,” Kate said of the twins while speaking with People magazine. She explained, “They agreed all along that they don’t want to go to the same school because their ambitions are so different.” Don’t worry, the family won’t actually be all that far apart. Both the girls will be attending college in New York, while Kate, along with their brothers and sisters, will be nearby in Pennsylvania. Perhaps being relatively close to home will allow the girls frequent opportunities to go home and visit their mom. “We are all going to miss them,” Kate told People . “I don’t care if they only come home to see the dog,” she joked, ” as long as they come home!” Though Kate will no doubt miss her eldest daughters, she’ll have a far-from-empty nest left to tend. Four of her children — Joel, Leah, Alexis, and Aaden — still live with her. Notably, two more of her kids, Hannah and Collin, have also left to live with their father Jon. But that still leaves Kate with half of her horde of kids to take care of, enough to keep any mom busy. Speaking of busy, Kate is now puzzling out how to juggle the back-to-school madness that comes with having kids at multiple schools. “Within six days, Mady has to be dropped off, Cara has to be dropped off, and the little kids begin their first day of high school,” Kate explained. She added that “Keeping straight the deadlines and dates for two different schools is mind-blowing.” It’s actually three schools, but hey, counting is hard, and we’re guessing Kate is fairly used to the high school routine by now. Kate also has her hands full with her own new reality series, Kate Plus Date . The series explores Kate’s re-entry into the dating pool at a time in her life when she feels her especially vulnerable. “Pretty soon,” she told Extra last month, “I am going to be alone, just me and the dogs.” “It was kind of now or never,” Kate recalled. Kate said she was apprehensive about dating again, especially after her very painful and public divorce from Jon. “I didn’t want my kids to have to go through that again,” Kate said. “I have to get it right,” she decided, “the stakes are really high.” It’s nice that she’s so concerned for her kids, but according to her, the kids have been cheering her on. Mady and Cara especially have reportedly been pushing her to date again. We hope the twins have a smooth transition into college life. A break from the cameras could be good for them. Kim Kardashian delivered a major plot twist when she revealed she was studying to become a lawyer earlier this year. It may be hard to imagine Kim representing anyone in court, and not just because she hasn't yet passed her Bar exam. But now that Wendy Williams is calling out for Kim's help, it's clear that Kim's influence and legal know-how are already in high demand . In a recent segment on her talk show show, Wendy Williams asked Kim Kardashian to help get A$AP Rocky released from jail in Sweeden. The 30-year-old rapper was arrested for assault after he and his crew were involved in a street altercation in Stockholm late last month. The beatdown was caught on camera, but Rocky's lawyer insists that it was done in self-defense. Additional footage of the incident, posted to the rapper's Instagram seems to confirm the lawyer's account. In the videos, we can plainly see that Rocky and his crew are being followed and harrassed by shrimpy guys who should really know better. Rocky and his entourage all but beg the two men to leave them alone and “walk the other way.” Of course, both men repeatedly refused to take the advice and continued to stalk the crew around Stockholm, resulting in the eventual fight and arrests. Look, laws are laws, and violence should always be discouraged. But after watching the tapes, it's hard not to feel like those jerks had it coming. Wendy Williams seems to think of the Swedish as organized, healthy, and humane, and assumed their prisons would follow suit. “I'm thinking the prison probably has down sheets, 700 thread count,” Wendy says in the clip. She muses, “You can eat the meatballs like at IKEA all day long.” But Wendy was appalled by the reality of Rocky's imprisonment when she learned of the horrific, inhumane conditions in his cell. “It's Holy Hell!” Wendy reveals about the prison. She goes on to explain that he sleeps “down on the floor” on something akin to a yoga mat. She adds that he has no cell-mate, and he's been alone in his cell for 16 days. “This is stupid, he needs to be released,” Wendy asserts. Apparently, this is where Kim Kardashian comes in. Wendy Williams feels that if Kim were to speak up about this, her voice would make a difference. Kim would be joining a handful of other celebrities who have spoken out about the wrongful imprisonment, including Al Sharpton, Snoop Dogg, and even Donald Trump. In fact, it's Snoop Dogg who first mentions that Kim should get involved, as Wendy's clip shows. “Hey Kim Kardashian,” Snoop says in a self-recorded video post, “go get Rocky out of jail.” “Look out for us,” the famous rapper entreats, adding “The black community needs this.” Snoop and Wendy both also call on Kanye West to simply make his wife help Rocky out, in case their pleas didn't reach her directly. But why Kim Kardashian? What exactly do all these celebrities expect her to do? Well, the “queen of celebrities” as Wendy calls her, is on track to becoming a full-fledged lawyer. And although she may not be legally certified yet, she may have a more a nuanced perspective of this issue from a legal standpoint. “She's involved with the law right now,” Wendy points out, “and this would be a big feather in her cap if she can help make this happen.” Truly, Kim's influence is so mighty that she could bring a lot of attention to Rocky's plight without ever stepping into the courtroom. But Wendy ackowledges that Kim can't pull this off all by herself. “When I say help, I mean she should not be the main person,” Wendy clarifies, suggesting Kim contact a law firm. Wendy goes on to explain that “Kim needs to be in the shadows, but clearly present, making it happen.” Wendy also suggests that Kim go so far as to make use of her connections with the white house, pushing our government to fast-track the issue with Sweeden. We love this fantasy of Kim as some kind of fame-powered superhero, fighting for justice from “the shadows” despite her insane level of visibility. We think Wendy may be giving Kim a little bit too much credit. But we live in a time when celebrities seem to make all the rules, so honestly, who even knows anymore? In any event, the world will know more about A$AP Rocky's fate on Friday, when prosecutors must either formally charge him or request to extend his detainment.
On Wednesday, we reported on the shocking allegation that Bachelor and Bachelorette creator Mike Fleiss attacked his pregnant wife , Laura Kaeppeler, during an altercation at the couple’s home in Hawaii. Laura says Mike tried to pressure her into getting an abortion she didn’t want and became angry when she refused to comply with his demands. Now, Kaeppeler has fled with the couple’s 4-year-old son, and both sides are telling their stories through court documents. Mike filed for divorce this week, and he claims he has not heard from Laura or his son since July 7. Fleiss urged police to ignore Laura’s restraining order request, claiming that she is the one who’s violating the law by concealing his son’s whereabouts. And that was just the beginning of his allegations. Fleiss says Kaeppeler was the one who became violent during their argument, alleging that the former Miss America contestant attacked him after he took her phone away during the fight. According to court documents, Mike claims that Laura began “pounding on [him] with her fists, jumping on [his back,] and attacking [him] trying to get the phone back.” Fleiss confirms that the argument centered around Laura’s pregnancy. He alleges that the two of them had agreed not to have any more children, and she lied to him about being on birth control. He says he took her phone in order to see what else she might be lying to him about, and that’s when Laura became aggressive. In his filing, Fleiss included security cam footage which he says serves as evidence of Kaeppeler’s abusive tendencies. He also includes screenshots of text messages in which Laura allegedly confesses that her “judgment was seriously clouded and [she] was so desperate for a baby after having the miscarriage that [she] lost it and wasn’t thinking clearly.” Kaeppeler provided security cam footage of her own (The still below allegedly shows Fleiss striking her during an argument.), and she claimed in her filing that Fleiss has been using his wealth and power to manipulate her for years. “Mike has made many emotionally derogatory and demeaning comments designed to demonstrate his financial coercive control over me, such as repeatedly insinuating that he would destroy me with his wealth and power,” Laura wrote. “The continued verbal and emotional abuse have wreaked havoc on my self-esteem.” Both sides point to security cam footage from previous incidents to back up their claims. Kaui police have released few details about the case thus far, and they say their investigation into the matter is ongoing. For their part, execs at Warner Bros. — which produces The Bachelor and its spinoffs — say they are looking into the claims against Fleiss in their own independent investigation. On June 26th, Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman became a widower when his wife, Beth, passed away after battling cancer. And understandably, he’s having a tough time dealing with that huge loss. Dog has made many public statements admitting how much he’s struggling, each more heartbreaking than the last. Last weekend, a memorial service was held for Beth in Colorado — it was open to anyone and everyone who wanted to remember her, so several people were there to document what he said in his speech there. At one point in the service, he said “She will never be dead to me. She is in another place.” “I’m gonna get to heaven and make her so proud,” he insisted. “She’s gonna say it like she said here, ‘That’s my man right there, that’s big daddy right there.'” He also recalled one of the last conversations he had with her, one where she told him “Please big daddy, please let me go .” “I said, ‘No, I can’t,'” he remembered. “‘I’m not gonna let you go.'” “I still haven’t let her go,” he told the people in attendance. He said that he’s never felt so bad, and that “If there’s a God, he won’t let me live that long without her.” It seems like at the moment, he’s not too interested in the idea of going about things without Beth by his side — at another point in the service, he said something similar. “In the ’70s, I did 18 months in the Texas penitentiary,” he said, “and I told God yesterday I’d do five years, ten years day to day just to kiss her again.” Now, Dog is sharing the same sentiment on Instagram … except this time, it’s more of a threat. On his page, he shared this meme that reads “Don’t piss off old people. The older we get, the less “life in prison” is a deterrent.” In his caption, he wrote “Fugitives beware,” and hashtagged his new show, Dog’s Most Wanted . Another hashtag he used? “Dog without Beth.” We know that Beth did a lot of filming for this upcoming show — she refused to do chemo so she could travel with him to shoot it. From what we’ve seen, her failing health was part of the show as well. It will be so heartbreaking to see how this all plays out on television. Especially since, judging by this post, Dog is considering taking some of his grief out on the fugitives he catches. In the comments, his faithful followers were quick to offer him love and support — and it looks like some of them are genuinely afraid he’ll land himself in prison. One woman commented “I told my husband those fugitives better really watch out for Dog now!” Another person wrote “Keeping you and your family in my thoughts. Keep your head clear, Dog. Beth is watching from above, cheering you on.” “I know it’s hard but don’t let your grief cloud your judgement and diminish your morals.” So many people noted his “Dog without Beth” hashtag and told him that he would never truly be without her, that she was watching over him always. According to WSBTV, a technical error in the system has been duplicating old charges, putting charges on your record that you have already resolved. Coweta County officials have stated around 2,000 records were incorrectly sent to the state and they’re working to try to get this issue fixed.
