Here is a sentence we never expected to write: Pink has penned a lengthy message on Instagram in which she strongly stands up for her decision to snap a photo of her children running around while visiting a Holocaust memorial in Germany. Allow us to set the unexpected stage, shall we? On Sunday, the beloved artist jumped on social media to share a series of pictures from her family’s time in Berlin. In one of these snapshots, Pink and Carey Hart’s kids — Willow, 8, and Jameson, 2 — can easily be seen running in that that city’s globally-known and revered Holocaust Memorial. After sharing the image (below), Pink received some critical comments about the photo, including one that read as follows: “Τhis place is not definitely a hide and seek place, dear Pink.” This is the photo that has stirred up such a major controversy around the Internet: The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, also known simply as the Holocaust Memorial, is meant as a tribute in Berlin to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. It was designed by architect Peter Eisenman and engineer Buro Happold. Aware of the backlash, Pink included a caption with the picture that reads: For all of the comments; these two children are in actuality Jewish, as am I and the entirety of my mothers family. The very person who constructed this believed in children being children, and to me this is a celebration of life after death. Please keep your hatred and judgment to yourselves. As you can see, she didn’t back down in any way at all. Nor did she apologize. Do you think she should? Pink isn’t the first person to cause a debate due to her actions at this site. She may be the most famous, however. Back in 2015, a CrossFit coach posted a picture of himself doing handstands at the same memorial and the Internet reacted in irritated shock. In this case, however, most celebrities who know Pink have rushed to her defense. “I love Berlin too. I love that what happened is not being forgotten,” Selma Blair wrote in response to the photo. “I love this celebration of life. I love you.” Another follower went on to note that the architect of the memorial actually said that “children playing there is a good thing and that it is no contrast to the place.” The commenter added: “Children doing children stuff and enjoying their childhood is in fact a good thing there.” Pink, who has never shied away from slamming trolls online , previously stated that she was done posting pictures of her kids on social media. As for why she can’t help but trash critics on Twitter and Instagram ? “I have to [go after them] sometimes,” the Grammy winner told Ellen DeGeneres in April. “I feel like I can change their minds.” She concluded at the time on this subject: “I’m all about injustice. I don’t like injustice…I don’t like how brave people are anonymously and rude, just mean, mean, mean-spirited.”

Emily Hartridge, a beloved YouTube star and personal trainer/presenter in Great Britain, died on Friday after being involved in an electric scooter accident. She was 35 years old. The tragic news was revealed in an Instagram post that reads as follows: Hi everyone. This is a horrible thing to have to say over Instagram but we know many of you were expecting to see Emily today and this is the only way to contact you all at once. Emily was involved in an accident yesterday and passed away. We all loved her to bits and she will never be forgotten. She has touched so many lives it’s hard to imagine things without her. She was a very special person. Here is a look at the message in full: Elsewhere, without naming the online personality, London’s Metropolitan Police Service released details of a collison between a scooter and a truck on Friday. “Police were called at 08:36hrs on Friday, 12 July to reports of an electric scooter being in collision with a lorry at Queenstown Road, junction with Battersea Park Road SW8. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended,” this report read. “A woman in her 30s had suffered serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.” Hartridge had close to 350,000 YouTube subscribers at the time of her passing. She started posting seven years ago and rose to prominence mostly due to videos in listicle form, typically titling footage such as this “10 Reasons Why …” where topics ranged from sex, relationships, love, gender and life. Her latest video was called “10 Reasons to Get a Younger Boyfriend” and it centered on that fact that her boyfriend is eight years her junior. On average, Hartridge earned around three million views a month and went on to host TV shows such as 4OD’s Oh Sh*t I’m 30 . Hartridge’s last Instagram post, meanwhile, was shared on Friday, as she talked about her reaction to a troll who asked if she was a man because of her lean-muscular physique. “I have never adhered to societal norms and I am certainly not going to start now,” the 35-year old explained in response. YouTube Creators released a statement on Twitter Saturday that read: We’re deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss of a truly talented British creator, Emily Hartridge. Our thoughts and condolences go out to all of her loved ones and fans. Fans and others YouTubers also took to social media in mourning, with author Greg Jenner Tweeting: “Deeply saddened to see this on Instagram. I met @emilyhartridge on a train 5 years ago, and by the end of the journey we’d shared all sorts of things about our mental health and insomnia. “She was funny, kind, and open-hearted. My deepest sympathies to the Hartridge family.” Added celebrity host Maude Garrett: “I’m really struggling to comprehend the sudden passing of my friend @emilyhartridge. She was a radiant light who always found a reason to laugh.” May Emily Hartridge rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam
Beth Chapman, reality star and wife of Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman, passed away last month after battling cancer. And if you know anything about Dog’s relationship with Beth, you know that it was an absolutely devastating loss. Beth passed away on June 26th after originally being diagnosed with throat cancer in 2017. A few days later, friends and family had a memorial service in Hawaii , and Dog explained that they’d have another in Colorado at a later date — they called both states home. Yesterday, everyone gathered again in Colorado, and again, the service was open to anyone and everyone who wanted to pay tribute to Beth. That’s how we know all the unbelievably heartbreaking things he said in his speech there. For example, at one point in his remarks, he said “I cannot believe believe that she’s gone. This is not possible, I want to wake up from a dream.” “In the ’70s, I did 18 months in the Texas penitentiary and I told God yesterday I’d do five years, ten years day to day just to kiss her again. I never felt like this.” At another point, he told the people in attendance “She will never be dead to me. She is in another place.” “I’m gonna get to heaven and make her so proud,” he added. “she’s gonna say it like she said here, ‘That’s my man right there, that’s big daddy right there.'” Dog’s speech, which lasted for nearly 30 minutes, also touched on what happened after Beth’s diagnosis . “She’d gotten sick,” he recalled, “they told her she got cancer. they said she could do chemo though, they said she would have to sit at home while Dog films the show.” The show he’s referring to is Dog’s Most Wanted, which hasn’t begun airing yet but which did feature Beth’s failing health . “The show did not kill her but she died for it,” Dog explained. “She said, ‘Do you think I’m going to let you go out by yourself and film this TV show? You’re out of your mind.'” He said that he told her that she “might have to do chemo and stuff, but she replied with “All it’ll do is keep me alive six months longer and I’m not going to do that because I want to be by your side.” And while they were filming, “She would tell these guys on the show, “You’re trying to die doing these drugs and I’m trying to live.’ Those guys started bawling and crying.” Speaking of bawling and crying, Dog took some time to speak on one of the last conversations he had with his wife. “She said, ‘Please big daddy, please let me go,'” he remembered. “I said, ‘No, I can’t. I’m not gonna let you go.'” “I still haven’t let her go,” he admitted. Later, he said something similar with “If there’s a God, he won’t let me live that long without her.” Dog also felt the need to give some advice. “If you’re beefin’ with your old lady,” he told everyone, “stop and kiss her right now. Because you’re gonna feel so bad when he or her are not with you anymore.” “It is one of the worst feelings a man or woman could ever have, I’m telling you,” he insisted. “I’ve never felt this bad. I’m sad. I didn’t want to do a celebration of life because I’m sad. I miss her so much.” We hope he manages to find some comfort soon. Stephanie Niznik, a peter actress best known for roles on Everwood and Star Trek: Insurrection, died unexpectedly in Encino, California on June 23. She was 52 years old. As of this writing, no official causre of death has been listed by Variety, which broke the sad news, or any other outlet. Niznik rose to prominence due to her role of Nina Feeney, the neighbor of the Brown family and eventual love interest for Dr. Andy Brown (Treat Williams), on Everwood. She portrayed this character for four seasons and recently returned for the show’s 15th anniversary panel at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour in 2017. It is from this event that we took the photos immediately above and below. The actress was a native of Bangor, Maine. She reportedly hoped to become a geneticist prior to graduating from Duke with majors in theater and Russian. From there, Niznik pursued a masters at Cal Arts and then started acting with roles in programs such as Vanishing Son and Murder She Wrote. These roles marked the beginning of an impressive career on the small screen. Niznik also appeared on Nash Bridges and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman before landing a recurring role on Diagnosis Murder. Along with her work on Everwood, she enjoyed recurring roles on Life is Wild and made guest appearances on Lost, NCIS and CSI: Miami, some of the highest-rated series of their era. As mentioned previously, Niznik will likely be best remembered for her extended time on Everwood. But she also played Trill Starfleet Ensign Kell Perim in the feature film Star Trek: Insurrection, returning to the Star Trek universe to play the Wraith in the Rogue Planet episode of the series Star Trek: Enterprise. Niznik also stopped by ABC for an important episode of Grey’s Anatomy; she was on the backdoor pilot special for spinoff series Private Practice, playing Carol in the fan-favorite Season 3 installment. Over the weekend, beloved Disney star Cameron Boyce died in his sleep after suffering a devastating seizure. Fans and friends are in mourning, but no one could feel this loss more keenly than his family. Now his younger sister, 17-year-old Maya Boyce, is speaking out about her brother’s tragic passing. “Yes, he died. Yes, I’m sad,” Maya’s beautiful tribute begins. She affirms that “Cameron was my best friend.” “He is someone I will always idolize,” Maya gushes. “His smile could light up a room, unlike anyone else’s,” she notes. Simply put, Maya writes: “He was perfect.” “He always said that if you have a voice,” Maya recalls. “You have the privilege of using that voice for change.” And he did. His advocacy for good causes earned both praise and mourning from Michelle Obama . “And,” Maya continues. “He did not take that idea lightly.” “He understood his responsibility as someone so many kids would look up to,” she adds. Maya praises: “Cameron always went out of his way to be giving and kind.” “He did more with his 20 years of life,” Maya asserts. “Than most people ever could with 100 years.” You know what? We don’t doubt it. “He was actively charitable,” Maya explains. “He traveled the world.” “He made creativity and art his life’s mission,” she says of her older brother. “And he encouraged others to do the same.” That is beautiful and inspirational. Maya acknowledges: “Of course, I am devastated.” “I will be for the rest of my life,” she affirms. Anyone who has ever lost a sibling knows how true those words can be. “But,” Maya writes. “What I’m holding onto, and what I encourage you to hold onto as well, is the memory of his endless optimism.” “He was sunlight wearing shoes,” she characterizes. Sadness, she explains, does not mean that she — or her family — want to see everyone moping. In fact, Cameron wouldn’t want that, either. “I can confidently say: he wants us to celebrate, grow, and persevere,” Maya tells anyone reading. “Yes, he died,” she repeats. “And yes, I’m sad.” “I’m also happy,” Maya adds. “And grateful.” “I was with him hours before he died,” Maya reveals to the world. She characterizes the encounter: “It was normal and fun.” “We said ‘I love you,'” Maya recalls. She adds: “He was happy.” We don’t doubt that for a single moment. “I spent 17 years knowing what it was like to be loved by Cameron Boyce,” Maya expresses. Her powerful tribute concludes: “That is the most beautiful gift I have ever received.” That is an incredibly evocative tribute to her late brother. It also offers the entire world a glimpse into their beautiful sibling dynamic. Clearly, Cameron was not the only one who had a bright, loving soul or who could inspire kindness in others. Maya may feel that her brother left some big shoes to fill, but she’s clearly inspirational in her own right. Our thoughts and best wishes continue to be with Cameron’s family and loved ones at this difficult time. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam
