Earl Thomas Conley Dies; Country Singer, Blake Shelton’s "Hero" Was 77

Sad news out of the world of country music today, as multiple sources have confirmed that beloved artist Earl Thomas Conley has passed away. He was 77 years old. Best known for such 1980s hits as “Holding Her and Loving You,” “What I’d Say” and “Once In a Blue Moon,” Conley reportedly died in Nashville on Wednesday morning. The singer’s passing was announced by his longtime friend and frequent collaborator, Blake Shelton. “My heart is absolutely destroyed today,” Shelton wrote on his social media accounts. “I’m sad to report that Earl Thomas Conley passed away very early this morning.” Shelton and Conley had been friends for over 20 years. The duo worked together writing Blake’s “All Over Me” along with Michael Pyle. “Earl was my all time favorite singer, hero and my friend. Prayers to his family,” Shelton continued. “We will all miss you deeply my brother. Now go rest…” Conley had been in hospice care for several months and had been suffering from a degenerative condition described as being “similar to dementia” for several years. Speaking with The Tennessean , Earl’s brother, Fred Conley, stated that the singer’s death had been a slow and heartbreaking process. “He just kept losing ground,” Fred stated. “I’m brokenhearted.” Earl’s 22-year-old daughter Erinn Scates, who is also a musician, sang her father’s praises to the newspaper: “He was a great dad, and he filled our lives with color,” she said. Shortly after signing with Warner Bros. in 1980, Conley recorded his first hit, “Dreamin’s All I Do,” which quickly reached the Billboard Top 40. From there, Conley produced several more hits and racked up multiple Grammy nominations. Over the course of his career, Conley recorded 10 albums over 30 of his singles listed on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs. While Shelton may have been his closest friend in the industry, several other country music A-listers have paid tribute to Conley in the hours since his passing. “I am so sad to hear this news. ETC you will be greatly missed,” Trisha Yearwood wrote on social media, “So sad to hear #EarlThomasConley passed away today,” wrote John Rich of Big & Rich. “He was a huge influence on my style and songwriting. I studied his records like textbooks and could play every note of every song. Truly one of the all time greats in country music.” The sentiment was echoed by Jason Aldean, who tweeted: “RIP ‘ETC’… Man what a voice this guy had. Spent many nights listening and playing his songs. Country Music lost a great one today guys. #EarlThomasConley #ETC”  Our thoughts go out to Conley’s loved ones during this difficult time. Jake Paul to Chris Brown: Fight Me, You P–sy!

These days, it’s extremely rare to encounter a news story that puts a smile on your face and a spring in your step. So it’s in that spirit that we present you the following joyous development: It seems two of the worst people in America are extremely eager to beat the hell out of one another. If you have young children in your home, you might know Jake Paul as the creator of some of the most obnoxious videos ever uploaded to YouTube, which is really, really saying something. Otherwise, you probably know him as the brother of Logan Paul, the douche bag who featured a suicide victim’s body in one of his equally stupid “comedy” clips. And no matter what your age, you almost certainly know Chris Brown as a strong candidate for the worst person currently drawing breath. Brown is best known for beating up Rihanna , but on rare occasions, he’s been known to get violent with members of his own gender as well. And it seems Paul would like to seize on Brown’s well-known love of punching things by boosting his public profile with a celebrity boxing match. Paul has boxed fellow YouTube personalities in the past, but it appears he’s eager to move up to the world of actual celebrities, And he’s got his sights set on the world’s most despised singer. Following his most recent fight against someone named Deji, Paul issued a challenge to Brown: “I want to call someone out,” Paul said to whatever kind of press covers a boxing match between two YouTubers. “Chris Brown, I know you were supposed to fight Soulja Boy. But I think it is time you got in the ring with someone your own size.” But that was back in August, and sadly, Breezy has yet to respond to the challenge. Paul took the opportunity to double-down last night while attending the premiere of a music video for someone named Justin Roberts. (Are we just getting old, or are none of these people actually famous?) “He’s soft man,” Paul told Hollywood Life when asked about the possibility of a fight with Brown. “He’s not ready for the smoke. I’m sorry.” Frankly, we feel rather conflicted about this whole story. In all likelihood, a sociopath like Paul has no strong feelings about Brown or his repugnant actions, and this whole thing is just his way of trying to make the leap from YouTuber to actual celebrity. It’s revolting to watch — and yet, we really want to see someone pummel Chris Brown, and Paul is significantly younger and appears to be in much better shape. We suppose the best case scenario is that these two run into each other in and beat the crap out of each other with no witnesses. Sure, that seems unlikely, but it’s important to have dreams in life, right? View Slideshow: 29 Pics of Chris Brown Thuggin’ It So Hard: What a Goon!

Nipsey Hussle Death Certificate Reveals Key, Tragic Tidbit

We have another update on the tragic death of Nipsey Hussle. TMZ has obtained her official death certificate for the late rapper, which lists his cause of death as gunshot wounds to the head and torso . This piece of information was already known, of course, but the legal document does add another tidbit that may be of interest. According to the certificate, Hussle was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. on March 31, 35 minutes after he was gunned down. The culprit strongly appears to be a man named Eric Holder, as surveillance camera footage clearly depicts Holder walking up to Hussle on the afternoon in question and opening fire. As previously reported, Holder walked away after putting one or two bullets in the artist… only for Hussle to actually say a few words to his assailant . Realizing the rapper was still alive, Holder then quickly circled back, shot Hussle again, kicked him and sprinted away to a nearby alley where a getaway car was waiting for him. Holder, who was subsequently arrested, is being held on $5 million bond on charges of murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. For those interested: Nipsey’s death certificate lists his occupation as an artist and entrepreneur. It also says he was never married at the time of his death and worked in the entertainment and real estate industries. But Hussle was very seriously involved with actress Lauren London, with whom he shared a two-year old daughter. In the wake of this murder, London wrote the following on Instagram : “I am completely loss. I’ve lost my best friend. My sanctuary. My protector. My soul…. I’m lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words.” The stars were together for five years at the time of Hussle’s homicide. This devastating murder has sent shockwaves throughout Hollywood, along with nearly every other industry. Celebrities such as Steph Curry, LeBron James, Rihanna and Drake have all  posted tributes to the slain superstar . Hussle grew up in a dangerous, violent section of Los Angeles… but had dedicated his life to pursuing avenues of peace and to bringing people together; even rival gangs. Candlelight vigils have been held across the globe and a huge memorial service will be held at Staples Center Thursday. It will be open to the public. View Slideshow: 34 Musicians Who Died Too Young Hussle was only 33 years old. We continue to send our condolences to his family members, friends and loved ones. May the rapper rest in peace.

Nipsey Hussle Fans: Harassing Daughter of Chris Darden!

When the suspected killer of Nipsey Hussle pleaded not guilty to all charges, he didn’t do so alone. By his side was his attorney, Chris Darden, who gained fame and notoriety decades ago as a prosecutor during the O.J. Simpson trial. Now, misguided Nipsey fans are bombarden Darden’s daughter with hate on Instagram, and she is speaking out. “I’ve been receiving vile comments and messages,” Jenee Darden’s heartbreaking post begins. This has been happening “since news broke that my father, Chris Darden, is the defense attorney for the man accused of killing Nipsey Hussle.” “Like many of you,” Jenee writes. “I found out about my father’s involvement in the case while scrolling through social media.” “I was not prepared for this backlash,” she admits. Jenee adds that he vitriol directed at her “has triggered bad memories from the O.J. Simpson trial.” “My father is a grown man,” Jenee points out. “And has been a defense attorney for some time.” In case it was not obvious, she reminds anyone reading her message: “I have no say in the cases he takes on.” Jenee adds that she knows better than most “why it hurts so deeply when we lose talented, young Black men.” She is a black woman herself and a journalist with a real passion for matters of justice. She asks that Nipsey’s fans “channel that energy toward continuing Nipsey’s legacy in strengthening our communities and lifting up each other.” When Nipsey says that her comments have been flooded with hate, she’s not kidding. It took us mere seconds to find examples. “So your dad is representing the killer of Nipsey???” writes on commenter. “Wowwww.” “Your dad is scum,” declares another, who decided to make their opinion her business. “YOUR FATHER IS A COWARD AND A TRAITOR TO HIS OWN PEOPLE!” accuses another. That same hater writes: “ALWAYS HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE! F–KING DISGUSTING!” Each of these particular comments was under an Instagram post about Jenee’s excitement about Avengers: Endgame . In reality, Jenee herself had already posted multiple times mourning Nipsey before she or anyone else knew who Eric Holder’s attorney was. “When our Black men are taken from us, the women left behind have to carry a different weight of grief,” Jenee acknowledged in one post. “I feel bad Lauren London is going through this,” she expressed. Jenee wrote: “As she grieves, she has to be strong for her children. I hope she has support.” In conclusion, she asked: “When we go learn to stop killing each other?” In another post, Jenee drew parallels between Nipsey and another talented artist of color who was taken from the world too soon. “Selena was murdered March 31, 1995,” she wrote. “Nipsey Hussle was murdered March 31 2019.” “They both died over some cruel and pathetic person’s brittle, insecure ego,” Jenee accused. Selena died when a fan who managed Selena’s boutiques was caught embezzling and murdered her. Nipsey was allegedly shot multiple times in the head and chest by an acquaintance, Eric Holder, following a personal dispute. So, first of all, we should point out that people are lashing out at Jenee because she’s within arm’s reach, so to speak. She’s not representing Eric Holder — her father is. She’s an unfair target. Additionally, even if Chris Darden were on Instagram to receive these vicious messages, it’s not really about him being an attorney. People are grieving the loss of Nipsey and they just want to express their anger at a deserving target. With Holder in prison, they’re directing their fury at the easiest target. It’s terrible, and it happens all of the time. Secondly, suggesting that Chris Darden doesn’t care about his fellow black people is both vile and absurd. The racial dynamic of the O.J. Simpson trial may have been the first time in history that a man got away with murder because he was black. Tragically, there have been countless cases of innocent men convicted because they were black, both before and since. Also, Eric Holder is a black man. Chris Darden is representing him. He’s doing his job as a defense attorney. That’s it. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

Meghan McCain Disrespects Joy Behar On ‘The View’ & The Internet Slowly Dissects Her Conservative Mediocrity

Source: Lou Rocco / Getty The distinction between juicy political debate and just plain rudeness was up for question this week when The View co-host Meghan McCain made a snide comment that set off social media. The daytime show is known for its unapologetic co-hosts whose opinions range from liberal to conservative on various issues. Naturally, with such varying views, things can get a little spicy. However, the tension reached flaming hot temperatures on Monday when the women discussed Kirstjen Nielsen leaving her position as Homeland Security Secretary. Nielsen will be replaced by the current Customs and Border Protection commissioner Kevin McAleenan in an interim position. The moves McAleenan make could shape the U.S.’ southwest border patrol. Currently, Trump thinks there’s a crisis at the border with illegal immigration, prompting outrageous moves such as family seperations and the demand for a billion dollar wall . The women of The View discussed this, but unfortunately things got a little uncivil when Joy was making a point about helping Central American countries instead of demonizing their residents trying to enter the U.S. Behar was trying to finish her point in the most coolest, calmness way possible when Ms. McCain interrupted her. Behar then replied, “I listened to you, let me just finish.” Again… IN THE MOST COOLEST, CALMEST WAY. But McCain all of a sudden had a chip on her shoulder and replied, “Part of your job is to listen to me.” WITH THE ADDED HAIR FLIP. The audience was in shock. It was only by the grace of Whoopi Goldberg that the tense moment didn’t go any further. “So here’s the deal, here’s what’s not going to happen today,” Goldberg told the table. “We’re not gonna do this. Everybody gets a conversation piece, everybody gets to say their piece, and we don’t need to comment if we don’t like what we’re hearing. Just let folks talk.” Peep the interaction for yourself below starting at the 4:53 mark.   Oh Ms. Behar… The tact. The tranquility. THE PATIENCE. Behar looked like she was about to set it off, but she kept it cool and let Whoopi’s interceding powers save Meghan’s life. Kevin Federline Using Britney Spears Health Crisis to Bilk More Cash?!?

Courageously, Britney Spears checked herself into a mental health facility as she grapples with her father’s serious health crisis. Officially, her ex and father of her children Kevin Federline has voiced his support for her strength and dedication to staying healthy. But it turns out that, behind the scenes, he is allegedly plotting to use this incident to leverage even more money out of her. Over a year ago, Kevin Federline sued to force Britney to give him more child support . He was already receiving $20,000 per month from Britney to cover two young boys, Sean Preston and Jayden, for a fraction of said months. Despite expectations to the contrary, Kevin got his wish. The final amount of money that he managed to extort — sorry, receive — per month from Britney remains confidential. But reports said that K-Fed secured himself a “significant increase” in monthly payouts. Now, however, he allegedly wants more. “They settled out of court in September,” an insider reminds RadarOnline . “And,” the source claims. “Everyone was okay with the increase that Kevin was given.” We are sure that Kevin, in particular, was loving it. “But now he is asking for more money,” the insider notes. The source explains that Kevin’s rationale for asking for more is “because he will need to care for the boys permanently for the time being.” “Kevin has the kids right now,” the insider says. “And,” the source continues. “They obviously don’t know what is really going on with their mother.” Is that obvious? It’s everywhere in the news. The boys are 12 and 13 — they can probably find a way to google their mom if they realize that they’re not being told everything. It sounds like the boys have been kept in the dark to some degree for a few months, now. “Britney was trying her best to keep the severity of their grandfather’s health issues from them,” the insider claims. The source adds that Britney did “the best she could.” Her best is pretty darn good — she is an exceptional mother. “But,” the insider notes. “The boys are old enough to understand death and they are not blind.” Kids notice way more than you think — especially when you’re talking about a bright young teen and preteen. According to what RadarOnline has been told of the situation, the boys have at least a general grasp of the family situation. That means their grandfather’s declining health — and it means their mom’s hospitalization, which began last week. The source reports that the boys are a little “scared” over the whole situation. Britney, of course, is a solid fixture in their lives. And the two of them are her entire world. The insoder says that the boys “obviously want her to be okay.” While Kevin Federline is reportedly using this family crisis to try to milk even more money out of his baby mama, others are showing support. Notably, Britney’s boyfriend, the ludicrously attractive Sam Asghari, posted about how proud he is of Britney to seek help. “It isn’t weakness,” he affirmed in an Instagram post on Wednesday. “It’s a sign of absolute strength.” It’s true and he should say it! “People should only be inspired by this,” Sam wrote. “At least I am.” We are, too.
