Wow, really??? Johnny Depp Wants To Buy Battle Of Wounded Knee Land To Return It The Native Americans Via RapidCityJournal Actor Johnny Depp, who plays Tonto in the recently released movie “The Lone Ranger,” plans to buy land at the site of the Wounded Knee massacre in South Dakota and give it back to the Oglala Sioux Tribe, a tribal official said Wednesday. “He would like to make that offer if we’re willing,” President Bryan Brewer said. “This is a great thing that is happening.” Brewer said he got a call Wednesday from a representative for Depp, who is in England, telling him the actor wanted to make an offer on a 40-acre piece of land near the Wounded Knee burial ground on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Land owner James Czywczynski, 76, has said he wants $3.9 million for that parcel where soldiers from the Seventh Cavalry killed 300 Lakota men, women and children in 1890, and an additional $1 million for a 40-acre parcel in Porcupine Butte. Czywczynski has said he will only sell the parcels as a package deal. Brewer said the tribe’s leaders must decide whether they want Depp to make the offer, considering it means paying a vastly inflated price for the land. Shannon County has appraised the parcels at a combined value of $14,000. Czywczynski’s $4.9 million price tag has angered many in the Native American community who view it as bordering on extortion. “We just hate to see that guy get rich off us,” Brewer said. We feel you on that… Garfield Steele, a council representative for the Wounded Knee district, said Thursday that he was speechless after hearing of Depp’s offer. “You see these celebrities with a lot of money and a lot of times you hear about the useless spending they do, this is something different, something that’s unbelievable,” he said. Asked whether Steele was concerned that purchasing the land might raise the price on other privately-owned sites that are sacred to natives, Steele said he was unfazed. He said Czywczynski’s inflated price was likely inspired by the private sale of Pe’ Sla, a sacred site in the west central Black Hills, to the Lakota for $9 million in 2012. Pe’ Sla is a crucial site in Lakota mythology. “He knew he puts any price tag on that and we would come crawling,” he said. Sources report that Drizzy just didn’t want his feud with Chris to flare up again. Via Hollywood Life reports: Drake was practically set to be the guest of honor tonight, June 30, at the BET Awards. But the rapper, who is nominated for 12 awards, surprisingly pulled out of attending the ceremony last-minute. Here’s why. A source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that “the reason Drake isn’t [at the BET Awards] is 100 percent all about Chris Brown.” Drake and Chris have a long, heated history that’s involved bottle-shattering bar fights and countless disses, and the source says that “Drake took the steps to not let anything happen” again. You have to give some credit to Drake for taking the high road, but we can’t believe that these two groups can’t just avoid each other completely. The level of hate that exists between Drake and Breezy — that they can’t even be in the same room with each other — is truly astonishing. This time, they have their shady sights set on none other than resident Hollyweird serial dater Taylor Swift. via THG Taylor Swift is beloved by millions, but to the Westboro Baptist Church, this is emblematic of the fact that our society is going straight to … you know. “This girl is a wh*re,” Ben Phelps, the leader of group said in announcing the WBC’s plan to protest her August 3 concert in Kansas City, Missouri. The WBC called Taylor “the wh*rish face of doomed America” in a press release, and Phelps explains, “She’s widely loved. She’s got huge approval ratings.” “What she’s famous for is hopping around from one bed from another. This girl is a wh**e. Who else is gonna say that if it’s not the church of the Lord Jesus?” Imagine if this guy saw Miley Cyrus Twerking. As if these words alone aren’t enough, the church is also planning to protest outside of Taylor Swift’s upcoming concert in Kansas City unless she agrees to send out a tweet condemning fornication amongst her loyal teenage female fans. When Taylor Swift stops in Kansas City, not far from Westboro Baptist Church’s Topeka, Ks., headquarters, they’re going to let her know how they feel. “She’s coming into our backyard,” Phelps said. But she’s not. “When she has a huge platform like that, a huge influence on young women, she’s got a duty to tell about God’s standards.
