Sir Paul Compares Global Warming Skeptics to Holocaust Deniers – Says of Obama, "I Really Love Him"

Seems the only thing gushing more than the BP oil spill these days is the disaster brewing in Paul McCartney’s mouth.  In an exclusive interview with The Sun , McCartney takes a major swipe at global warming realists, er, deniers, by stating (emphasis mine): “Sadly we need disasters like this to show people. Some people don’t believe in climate warming – like those who don’t believe there was a Holocaust.” Well that’s putting things in perspective.  I’m not sure global warming has been proven to have caused the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion.  Missed that report.  Regardless, it remains unclear how the theory of global warming is in any way similar to the reality of the Holocaust. McCartney goes on to defend President Obama from any and all criticism concerning the Gulf disaster, culminating with the revelation that he “really love(s) him.” Because nobody was really sure where your allegiances lied after the ‘library’ swipe at former President Bush, Paul. McCartney starts with a blanket dismissal of the Obama critics: “I don’t accept the criticism of Barack over the oil spill.” He continues, “If the President of the country you spilled oil in tells you off then you’ve just got to take it or say, ‘I’m really sorry, we’ll clean it up and pay for it all by next week.” Now I ask, why didn’t BP think of that in the first place?  All of these failed attempts and confusion in trying to ‘plug the damn hole’, and all Tony Hayward had to do to make things right was say, “I’m really sorry, we’ll clean it up and pay for it all by next week.” Of his recent visit to the White House, McCartney recalls, “It was such an honour. I’d heard of the prize – it’s the biggest for popular music in the US. When the President gave it to me, I was so touched. I’m a huge Obama supporter. I really love him.” He also gushes, “I think Obama’s doing great. He’s a smart guy.” I’m not sure what it is, but McCartney is clearly smitten with our ‘smart guy’ President.  Perhaps it was his spelling of the University of ‘Sycacuse’ .  Perhaps it was his over-estimation of a tornado death toll by roughly 9,988.  Maybe it was his firm grasp of geography .  Or his love of Sioux City . No word on whether it was true that Sir Paul went on to say, “He had me at 57 states .” Based on these comments it is clear that, as The Sun interview states, McCartney has been spending too much time sitting in “a darkened room lit only by scented candles … to gather his thoughts.” Clearly the gathering isn’t working.  To be fair though, even the Dutch skimmers would have a tough time reigning in those thoughts. – Send comments or tips to rustyweiss@verizon.net . ‘Eclipse’ Stars Thank Twilighters For ‘Beyond Insane’ L.A. Premiere

‘This energy is always undeniable,’ Kristen Stewart tells MTV News on the black carpet. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images It’s not uncommon for fans of major franchises to devote several hours, days and weeks to the stories they hold so dear, but there’s something almost indescribable about the devotion of the “Twilight” fanbase — a devotion that was on full display Thursday night (June 24) at the world premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. “This is beyond insane. It’s, like, ludicrous madness. You can’t describe something like this,” actor Justin Chon, who plays Eric in the “Twilight” series, told MTV News on the black carpet of the “Eclipse” premiere. “These are some of the most dedicated fans that you’ll find on planet Earth.” Sarah Clarke, who plays Bella’s mother Renee Dwyer in the “Twilight” films, echoed Chon’s sentiment: “You never get used to this. I think there’s an Elvis quality, you know?” Clarke pointed out that many of the fans in attendance had been camping outside the theater for almost a week just to make sure they were able to see all their favorite stars. To thank these fans, Peter Facinelli and some of his castmates paid a visit to the dedicated “Twilight” supporters earlier in the week. “A couple of us came down and signed some autographs for them, because they’ve been camping out for five days and we wanted to make sure the wait was worth it,” Facinelli said. “It’s humbling to have this much fan support. I definitely appreciate it, and I know that the cast does. We don’t take it for granted. This whole franchise has been successful because of those fans.” In addition to the numerous fans and “Twilight” castmembers themselves, many other notable Hollywood personalities and surprising celebs came out for the “Eclipse” premiere. Athletes like Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez and L.A. Lakers newcomer Ron Artest were two of the more unexpected celebrities in attendance, with Artest throwing his support behind Team Jacob and the rest of the wolf pack. Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, in contrast, declared her own status as a proud member of the Team Edward faithful. “I tried to meet [Robert Pattinson] last year, and I waited on line for an hour and a half to meet him, and just as I got to the front, he left,” Hewitt recalled of a previous opportunity to meet the hunky Edward Cullen in person. “I was so sad. But he didn’t mean it — he’s Edward!” Although she fully supports the sexy vampire, Hewitt said she has difficulty relating to Bella’s romantic dilemma. “[My love life] sometimes feels more complicated [than hers],” she said. “Nobody ever just says, ‘Can I bite you?’ And if they did, I’d be like, ‘Yes!’ And we could just move on with our lives, and it would be amazing!” One of the most anticipated personalities attending the “Eclipse” premiere was none other than “Twilight” author and mastermind Stephenie Meyer herself. “I’m so not used to this,” Meyer admitted when asked about the size and scope of the “Eclipse” premiere. “I only do this kind of thing once a year. The rest of the time, I am totally incognito. It’s nice to be the author, let me tell you. It’s so much easier than being the actor!” There’s no question that Meyer was able to navigate through the crowd with more anonymity than the film’s three leading actors, as Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart couldn’t travel from point A to point B without cheers and applause following them every step of the way. “This energy is always undeniable,” Stewart said of the crowd’s unbridled enthusiasm. “I feel like I’m one of them. I feel like we share the exact same passion for this thing, and it feels a little weird to be at the head of it, but it’s cool.” Lautner said that when he first stepped onto the red carpet, there was only one sensation going through his mind: amazement. “It’s absolutely incredible and so exciting,” he said. “It’s a little bit of pressure, because you definitely want to live up to their expectations, but at the same time, we luckily have the most supportive fans in the world. Sometimes, this is just like extra comfort.” “Anybody who says they’re tired of this is completely crazy,” Pattinson agreed with his co-star and onscreen romantic rival. “If I ever said that [I’m tired of this], someone just has to remind me of what I was doing before: sitting around doing nothing!” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Random Celebrity Sighting of the Week: Ali Fedotowsky and Jennifer Love Hewitt

Upon first glance, we were taken aback when we saw photos of Ali Fedotowsky and Jennifer Love Hewitt hanging out last night. Incredibly, both beauties attended Drag Queen Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood and got along like old pals, exchanging phones numbers so they could “hang out again soon,” Hewitt said. But the more one thinks about these two, the more their friendship makes perfect sense. With the obvious exception of Jake Pavelka (you’re in your own stratosphere, buddy, don’t worry), what other celebrities profit as much from their failed love life as Ali and Jennifer? Ali will soon pretend to fall for a guy on The Bachelorette and then make new headlines a few months from now when they break up and she sells her tale of heartbreak to the nearest tabloid. Hewitt, meanwhile, doesn’t even have a show any longer. She remains relevant by whining about her love life . Similarities aside, we must ask: Between Ali and JLH, who would you rather…

The Hills Stars, Other Celebrities Share Bikini Body Secrets, Weight Loss Tips

This is bikini season and it’s time to get serious. You can take it from The Hills stars … people who have nothing to do except look good in bikinis every day. Take Audrina Patridge for example. She gets her body all beach ready by drinking lots of water, eating lean protein, green leafy vegetables and fewer carbs. “I also love shots of wheat grass,” The Hills star tells Life & Style in its cover story. “When I want to kick it up a notch, then I get Sunfare meals delivered.” Other celebrities who are no strangers to showing off their bodies in bikinis, such as Brooklyn Decker, focused on “toning up” and” definition in my abs.” The Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover girl and wife of Andy Roddick also consumes lots of high-protein Greek yogurt and nuts to build that muscle. Take it from Kristin Cavallari, Beyonce and others – there are easy ways to lose 10 pounds, burn calories while you sleep and other red hot tips for summer fun . Fortunately, Brooklyn doesn’t subscribe to that QuickTrim crap (talking to you, Kim Kardashian ). Her employer actually encourages a few extra pounds: “Sports Illustrated is never about losing weight. They encourage girls to eat cheeseburgers the night before. They love girls who are a little bit curvier.” No complaints here, although Cameron Diaz, with her lithe legs, flat tummy and sculpted arms, make us feel like we should work out one of these years. Lately, Cameron is doing combination exercises that blast multiple muscles at once, like squats with shoulder presses, as well as various yoga poses. Clearly it pays off!

By Jocelyn Vena Sandra Bullock presents at Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery Photo: MTV News Sandra Bullock has had several high profile appearances this month. She appeared at Spike’s Guys Choice Awards and at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this month, and on Tuesday night, Bullock was one of the many stars doing her part to help raise funds of Nashville at the Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Strumming an acoustic guitar and wearing a black dress, Bullock hit the stage to play a quick rendition of “Smoke On The Water’ before addressing the crowd and sharing kind words for Faith Hill, who organized and hosted the event with husband Tim McGraw. “OK, who am I kidding? I can’t play for crap!” Bullock joked about her musical abilities. “But ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce an amazing woman, an extraordinarily talented woman, a disgustingly beautiful woman, and the woman that is one half of who made tonight possible. Ladies and gentlemen, the extraordinary Faith Hill.” With the crowd cheering, Bullock left the stage smiling. Bullock was one of many celebrities who pitched in to help raise money for Nashville, which was devastated by floods earlier this spring. The other stars at the event included Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. “As soon as I even heard that they’re putting something together, I just volunteered,” Swift said of being involved. “And I said I want to do this and I want to help out. Double Negative Exposure: Bravo Show Calls Out Lindsay Lohan

Bravo’s new show Double Exposure , which takes you behind the lens of celebrity photographers Markus Klinko and Indrani, aired its second episode last night. The subject of the episode: Lindsay Lohan, and how the irresponsible train wreck almost sabotaged a photo shoot for her own line of leggings. Now she’s pissed! Centered around the troubled youngster bailing on a New York photo shoot that went down back in September, the episode is titled, “Is Lindsay Here Yet?” It’s a valid question. Sources close to the production say Lindsay was 11 hours late for the shoot, scheduled for 10 a.m. Her excuse? “She woke up late.” At 9 p.m.!? It’s worth noting that when the actress did eventually show up, a source reports, “she was fantastic to work with … it’s the ‘getting there’ that’s another story.” She also hit it off with the star of the show, even sparking rumors that Lindsay Lohan and Indrani (above) were dating. So it must have gone alright in the end. Nevertheless, Lindsay is obviously pissed about the way the episode is being promoted, taking to her Twitter page to claim that everything is “UNTRUE.” Right . “Sucks when ‘friends’ use you (in this case for ratings) even if they’re lyin,” she wrote. “I don’t appreciate being used for press, I’m sure others would agree!” In typical fashion, she blamed others and offered a really bad excuse , Tweeting: “I was given the wrong call time – now I know on purpose… it was a set-up.” Isn’t it always for Lindsay Lohan? Sucks when everyone sets you up, 24/7/365. Here’s hoping she shows up to her upcoming nude hangbag shoot !

Heidi Montag Breaks Up With Jen Bunney

Spencer Pratt isn’t the only person in Heidi Montag’s life she wants to ditch. According to reports, she’s cut off ties with her old friend Jennifer Bunney too. Heidi and the Bunney, who she had been planning to do a reality show with for like a week, were inseparable after she announced plans to divorce Spencer . They drifted apart soon after, though. Ever since Jen Bunney spoke to the press about Speidi, it’s been difficult to stay friends with the two, sources say. “Heidi is trying to distance herself from Jen … not even returning her calls. Ever since Jen has returned from Hong Kong, she’s been calling Heidi non-stop asking about this summer’s show. Heidi is definitely over her,” a source told X17 . That’s because she’s been replaced by … the Shannon Twins!

Robert Redford Blames Cheney for America’s ‘Failed Energy Policy’

Actor Robert Redford lambasted America’s energy plan that he claimed led to the Gulf disaster, laying the responsibility at the feet of former Vice President Cheney. Appearing Monday night on “Anderson Cooper 360,” Redford blamed the Gulf oil spill not only on BP, but also because of the “failed” energy policy that led to this disaster. ‘There’s a lot being said about BP, and there’s a lot of truth that’s finally bubbling up to the surface,” Redford acknowledged. “But what I’m more interested in is – is looking at it from a historical point of view and trying to connect some dots about how we got here.” “Look, I think one of the reasons we’re in this problem is because we have not only a failed energy policy, but we have an energy policy – because of the way it was designed, and who it was designed by, Cheney – it’s sick and it’s dangerous.” Redford, who supports Obama’s drilling moratorium,  mandated that America must shed its current energy policy and adopt a new one. He rebuked the present policy as an unholy alliance of sorts between Congress, the government, and Big Oil. He gave the example of the US Minerals Management Service (MMS) as an example of a government agency that was asleep at the wheel in its oversight of oil companies. “Look, all that stuff has come out, and it’s painfully obvious what’s happened – the corruption that came with MMS as a result of Dick Cheney and how he engineered this whole thing,” he maintained. Redford’s solution? Get rid of former Vice President Dick Cheney – who’s been a private citizen for 17 months now – and his cronies. “You’ve got to get rid of Cheney and every – and all the horses he came in with. You’ve got to get rid of his energy policy. It’s bad for our health. It’s bad for our economy. It’s bad for our future.” A transcript of Anderson Cooper’s interview with Robert Redford, which aired on June 21, at 10:22 p.m. EDT, is as follows: ANDERSON COOPER, host: As you look at BP’s response to this spill, what stands out? I mean — I think, for a lot of people on the ground here, it’s the lack of transparency that we have seen. What surprises you about the way BP has handled this so far? ROBERT REDFORD: Nothing. What I’m kind of interested in here is, you know, there’s a lot being said about BP, and there’s a lot of truth that’s finally bubbling up to the surface. But what I’m more interested in is — is looking at it from a historical point of view and trying to connect some dots about how we got here. And, you know, when you stop and think about BP’s promises and the consequence of the collusion between government, Congress and big oil companies, what you get is what we’ve got: a failed energy policy — a terrible energy policy — that allowed this to happen. And so, I think, I’m interested in seeing if we can get to the public, connect the dots as to how we got here because we — there have been other disasters despite what they’re saying that have happened. COOPER: It’s interesting because — I mean, Senate Republicans told the President last week, look, focus on the oil spill right now, not on an energy bill. They say the President can’t afford any distractions until this is under control. You say the opposite. You say this is the time to focus on an energy bill. REDFORD: Look, I think one of the reasons we’re in this problem is because we have not only a failed energy policy, but we have an energy policy — because of the way it was designed by who it was designed by, Cheney — it’s sick and it’s dangerous. And any energy policy that’s designed behind closed doors with oil, gas and coal companies is bound to end up being a disaster of some sort. So, I think, we need a new energy policy. And I don’t think it’s next week, or next year or even — it’s now. If we miss this opportunity, we’re missing an incredible opportunity. And history will probably tell us that. So, get rid of this energy policy. It’s a disaster. COOPER: Do you think President Obama has shown leadership in that direction? I mean, he talked — he didn’t really give any details last week about what he wants to see in an energy bill. Were you satisfied with what you heard? Or were you looking for more specifics? REDFORD: No, I wasn’t satisfied with what I heard. I’m somewhat sympathetic to what the guy’s dealing with because he had all these other issues that were paramount when this thing came forward. And I don’t think he or the administration was quite prepared. Nor do I think BP was prepared. Nobody was prepared. I think he’s trying to do the best he can, but I think he’s got to do more. And I think if he thinks that he’s going to push something through with any kind of bipartisanship, I think it should be clear by now that there’s so many voices coming at him from the other side — the voices that, for me, is coming out of the Ice Age, you know, that he should forget about that. He better grab this moment. And I think the public is going to have to push him to push Congress. But he better push them. COOPER: Obviously, around here, the drilling moratorium, the deepwater drilling moratorium is hugely unpopular. There are a lot of jobs at stake here, there’s people suing in courts to try to get this thing overturned — although that seems unlikely to happen. We’ll have a ruling probably by tomorrow. You, obviously, I’m guessing, support the moratorium. Why? REDFORD: Well, I support the moratorium, because I think there’s so many disasters that have occurred in the past when we’ve been lied to about the fact that they would not happen. They have happened. Why have they happened? Because of the collusion between government, Congress and the big oil companies. So, I think — look, we’re not going to get rid of oil. I mean, we should accept that. I accept it. I worked in an oilfield as a kid. But I think what we’re asking for now is a new energy policy. And I think that — I’m totally sympathetic to the people in the Gulf who have lost their jobs, their way of life, environmental devastation and so forth. I understand the voices that want to not have a moratorium because they think it’s going to help jobs. But I think the first thing that should happen is that we have got to figure out — first of all, make sure BP pays every dime that’s owed to these people. My heart goes out to the people on the Gulf. And they need to be paid. And Obama has to push them to do it. Second, we’ve got to figure out how it happened. Why did this happen when we were told over and over again it wouldn’t happen? COOPER: And in terms of oversight by the government — I mean, clearly, the government, both under the Bush administration and even under the Obama administration, have not done as much in terms of reforming MMS. I mean, MMS, which has now been renamed today, has essentially, you know, been kind of a lap dog. REDFORD: It has. Look, all that stuff has come out, and it’s painfully obvious what’s happened — the corruption that came with MMS as a result of Dick Cheney and how he engineered this whole thing. You got to get rid of Cheney and every — and all the horses he came in with. You got to get rid of his energy policy. It’s bad for our health. It’s bad for our economy. It’s bad for our future. And I think the administration has to step up, get tough, get quick, and be very clear about what they’re prescribing. I think they have to be very clear about why there should be some moratorium, like should Shell be allowed to drill up in the Alaskan refuge? No, not yet. We got to get some facts in order first. COOPER: Robert Redford, I appreciate your time tonight. Thank you. REDFORD: You’re welcome.

Perez Hilton to Face Child Porn Charges?

Perez Hilton – he of Carrie Prejean bashing fame – may be staring in the face of child porn charges in the near future.  You may recall that Hilton served as judge in the 2009 Miss America competition, and asked Prejean her view of same-sex marriage. When Prejean offered an honest answer voicing her belief that marriage should be between a man and a woman, Hilton expressed his displeasure by taking to the internet and bashing Prejean as a ‘dumb b****’.  Seems Perez has graduated from name-calling tantrums, and an accomplished career as a verminous outer of gay celebrities, and turned his attention to a developing career in child porn . Ben Shapiro over at Big Hollywood reports: “He (Hilton) linked via his Twitter account to a picture of rising Madonna wannabe Miley Cyrus climbing out of a car in a short skirt and no underwear.  In the picture, which has been removed, Cyrus’ genitals are allegedly clearly visible.” Of course, now that the heat is on, Perez has taken to back-pedaling , claiming the photo was a fake.  In a statement on his blog, Hilton said, “”Do you think I’m stupid enough to post a photo of Miley if she’s not wearing any underwear down there?” That’s what we in the business call a rhetorical question.  Britney Spears’ up skirt photos think he’s crossed the line. Hilton has made a career out of vulgar displays of stupidity, including well, Salon explains it a little better. The ‘fake’ claim comes only after Hilton had already commented on the controversy, in which he clearly offers no apology.    According to Entertainment Weekly , Hilton stated: “I think now it’s okay for Miley to be a little sexier.  Because she’s almost 18, you know, so it’s okay for Miley to show her boobs and expand, uh, her horizons.” After developing the ‘fake photo’ defense, Hilton said, “Sure I like to be controversial, but I don’t want to go to jail.” Problem being, he might still be in some hot water even if the image was Photoshopped.  In an interview with Salon , criminal defense attorney Jeffrey Douglas explains: “Under the law, that is still a crime and it is punishable just the same,” says Douglas.  “For instance, if you were to take the face of an 8-year-old and put that picture on the nude body of even an identifiable, fully developed adult porn star, it is child-porn punishable identical to if you took a photo of the actual child.” Douglas continues: “We’re not talking about a misdemeanor,” he said.  “You don’t have to know what the definition of the law is; all you have to do is knowingly distribute the photograph.”  He added that it was “suicidal for him to do this”. Of course the real question is, if Prejean is a ‘dumb bitch’ for what she did, what does knowingly distributing a nude photo of an underage girl make you? – Send comments or tips to rustyweiss@verizon.net .
