Snoop Dogg To Induct Tupac Into Hall Of Fame It’s official ! 20 years after ‘Pac’s tragic murder, the rap icon is officially being honored in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next month. To make the moment just that more impactful, he’s beeing ushered into the musical legends’ club by none other than friend and collaborator and fellow West Coast hip-hop icon, Snoop Dogg. Tupac and the rest of the new class of inductees will join the Hall of Fame on April 7 at the Barclays Center. Already both creatives with acting and song credits under their belts, well-known for their eclectic styles and artistic streak, and habits toward philosophying on even the simplest isht, Willow and Jaden were clearly cultivated to embrace their every thought and whim. News got down to the nitty-gritty of Will and Jada’s parenting style with quotes from over the years detailing what they do as parents that might be just a bit different than the average Mommy and Daddy out here. For one, the Smiths don’t believe in “punishment” for their kids in a traditional sense. As Will said in 2013 : “We don’t do punishment. The way that we deal with our kids is, they are responsible for their lives. Our concept is, as young as possible, give them as much control over their lives as possible and the concept of punishment, our experience has been—it has a little too much of a negative quality.” “So when they do things—and you know, Jaden, he’s done things—you can do anything you want as long as you can explain to me why that was the right thing to do for your life.” And they also give their minis an open forum to speak frankly with them: “They’re allowed to tell us everything that they did [in the circle of safety], and they can’t get in trouble. The rule is, if we find out after the circle of safety that there was something you didn’t say, there was hell to pay.” Granted, we aren’t sure what “hell to pay” really means when there’s no punishment. But he’s big on letting the kids be who they are: “What I do with my children, that I feel that the greatest gift that I can give my children is the freedom to be who they are. [My wife] and I are very serious about finding what they are, and encouraging them to be what they are because you can never be happy being what you’re not.” And ultimately, the Smiths don’t believe in treating their kids as possessions or extensions of them…but as individuals and equals: “I think that, specifically in African American households, the idea coming out of slavery, there’s a concept of your children being property and that was a major part that Jada and I released with our kids. We respect our children the way we would respect any other person. Things like cleaning up their room. You would never tell a full-grown adult to clean their room, so we don’t tell our kids to clean their rooms. We tell our kids, ‘You don’t have a room, that’s our room and we are letting you borrow it.’ So the same way you would say to an adult if you let them use your car, you say, ‘Yo man, clean my car! Don’t drive around all filthy like that!’ And it’s perfectly reasonable for you to want an adult to clean your car, so we feel it’s perfectly reasonable to ask our kids to clean the rooms that we are letting them use.” Interesting! Crazy Driver Rams Into Police Cars Near Capitol Hill According to ABC News , U.S. Capitol police officers observed an “erratic and aggressive driver” near Capitol Hill around 9 a.m. today. When police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver busted a U-turn, nearly hitting officers and ramming into a police vehicle. Police began to pursue the woman driver and in an attempt to arrest the suspect, police ring off shots. Eva Malecki, Communications Director of the U.S. Capitol Police says, no one was injured and although the driver acted “criminal in nature”, the incident doesn’t seem to be terrorism. The suspected erratic driver is now under police custody. The FBI are assisting Capitol Police at the scene. There is currently no clear indication of a motive, or whether this was an intentional act, according to the FBI.

Brooklyn Cop Gets In Trouble Over Using “BlackLivesMatter” Hashtag A Brooklyn cop is under scrutiny with the NYPD after she replied to a department Twitter post with the hash tag “Blacklivesmatter,” according to The NY Daily News . Police officer Gwendolyn Bishop responded to a post from February 2016 about a gun arrest using her own personal Twitter account, writing, “Sad day for the 76th Pct. #Blacklivesmatter.” The reply was made under her personal twitter account, @ducklipzanddimplzz, which has been deactivated. According to her attorney, John Tynan said, her Twitter account did not identify her as a cop. Also, from Tynan, she was not in violation of department rules, since she was not using the department Twitter account but was responding through her personal account as any other person on Twitter is allowed to do. The four and a half-year veteran told her superiors that she didn’t remember replying to the post, and that she rarely uses Twitter. When pressed about the issue on Tuesday, the officer says she meant to write #BlueLivesMatter and autocorrect got the best of her. If she’s found to be guilty, she faces 30 vacation days taken away and one year probation. That’s some BS.
Love & Hip Hop New York Star Giving Drug Dealing Appeal One More Shot “Love & Hip Hop New York’s” Mendeecees Harris doesn’t care what the judge ruled – he’s still gunning to get out of prison early. The reality star has appealed a federal judge’s ruling that he isn’t eligible for lesser prison time for his role in a drug trafficking ring, BOSSIP has learned. Mendeecees and his lawyer Dawn Florio filed the appeal last week, claiming that the court made a mistake when the judge shut down his bid for less prison time. Mendeecees argued that he was locked up under expired sentencing guidelines, and his then-lawyer and the prosecution should have realized the error. He asked for three years to be shaved off his time, saying that he could continue his work as a youth leader and encourage kids to stay off the streets and in the drug dealing lifestyle. But earlier this month, a judge denied his bid for a lower sentence, ruling that under Mendeecees’ plea deal , he can’t appeal the sentence once it went into effect. Even though the new sentencing policy went into effect before he was sent to prison, his plea agreement states that a sentence lowering doesn’t apply. Mendeecees was sentenced to eight to ten years in federal prison in 2015 for “conspiracy to distribute narcotics,” under a plea deal where he admitted he ferried large amounts of cocaine and heroin from New York City to Upstate New York. His two co-defendants – one of whom is his brother – are already serving lengthy prison sentences. The reality star and father of five said his role in the drug ring was relatively minor; he said he was simply a courier and wasn’t involved in the actual selling of the narcotics and therefore the judge should consider a lower sentence. However, the judge said that as much as Mendeecees has tried to minimize his role in the drug ring, his position was significant. The judge said one confidential informant told the government that he received three to five kilos of coke from Mendeecees every month, while another told them that Mendeecees gave them five kilos of heroin. The judge said Mendeecees himself admitted he trafficked at least 40 kilos of cocaine and heroin. The appellate judges have yet to hear Mendeecees’ arguments.
