Kenya Moore really might be back on season 12 and she’s speaking yet again on the rumors. As previously reported Kenya was the catalyst for a Cynthia Bailey and NeNe Leakes’ blow up because NeNe couldn’t believe Cynthia “invited” Kenya without giving her a heads up. Now the peach chaos causer is speaking with Streetz 94.5’s Jazzy McBee on her possible return, NeNe’s nastiness and her new family. On NeNe: “You can come in in peace like I did in the last episode, I came to support Cynthia at her launch party. I was cordial with everyone, I didn’t come to be combative and start drama but yet look at the fallout that ensued. I knew I didn’t do anything wrong, I came to support my friend. That’s their issue, not mine.” On turning down RHOA season 11: “I wasn’t fired. How you gonna get fired if you have an offer on the table? Never. […] It was several reasons, things did not come together for me the way they should. I didn’t want to jeopardize my pregnancy, I was really high risk. Every time I went to the doctor it was like you’re biting your nails.” On returning to season 12: “That hasn’t been confirmed, as of now, that’s just a rumor.” On Phaedra Parks: “I don’t even wanna talk about ghosts, in my opinion, she’s been long gone.” On her husband Marc Daly: “46 years of frogs, I’m not saying I never had any good people in my life I just wasn’t ready at the time. Love takes timing, you have to be ready for that. I think that was always my issue. I met great guys in the beginning of my life and I said ‘Oh I could do better, Oh I’m not ready’ then it’s like, Wait a minute, where are the good guys?! Where are the nice guys?!’ So when I met my husband I wasn’t ready when I met him. I took 6 months to work on myself, be alone. […] When I felt in a good place I picked up the phone and called Chef Roble [who introduced them].” Watch Kenya Moore on Streetz 94.5 below.
Source: izusek / Getty Some Passengers Get Slammed For Grabbing Luggage During Russian Plane Tragedy That Killed 41 People More info is surfacing about the Russian airplane tragedy on Sunday that claimed the lives of 41 people, and things are not looking pretty. According to USA Today , many witnesses report that some passengers went after their luggage when the Aeroflot flight burst into flames during a crash landing. The Association of Flight Attendants warned against saving carry-on luggage in the midst of an emergency evacuation. In a statement about the Aeroflot disaster, they explained: “Reports from people on the plane indicate the evacuation may have been slowed by passengers grabbing their bags. Videos show passengers taking their carry-on bags with them as they exited the plane. We will never know if more lives could have been saved if the bags were left behind.” AFA went on to honor flight attendant Maxim Moiseyev who died in the line of duty trying to save passengers on the Aeroflot flight. A plane map of those who perished during the crisis started circling around the Internet, sparking further outrage for anyone who tried to grab their luggage during evacuation. The people in red are those who died. This photo represents where people were seated that perished on the Aeroflot crash last week. Its an open investigation but if luggage retrieval proved a causal factor in survival factors its time to punish all who carry luggage off when evacuating. No excuses! pic.twitter.com/9wQaujzC4m — Steve Jangelis (@StevieJsez) May 8, 2019 According to ABC , Mikhail Savchenko was on board when the Aeroflot plane burst into flames, and he posted a clip from the ground, showing people running from the burning wreck with what looked like luggage in their hands. “I do not know what to say about people who ran out with bags,” Savchenko wrote on Facebook in a translated post. “God is their judge.” The issue of carry-on luggage being a safety hazard isn’t new either. Checked baggage fees have resulted in more carry-ons that clog cabins. Past plane evacuations have also revealed passengers fleeing with luggage in Shanghai, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York and Dubai, according to USA Today. The Federal Aviation Administration clearly states , “In the unlikely event that you need to evacuate, leave your bags and personal items behind. Your luggage is not worth your life.” The U.S. airline crew members are trained to evacuate a commercial flight within 90 seconds, and every bit of those seconds are impactful. With people not following directions and safety procedures, it’s now possible warning and safety briefings might be enhanced. Others have also suggested automatic locking devices on overhead bins, although experts warn against the unintended consequences of keeping safety equipment locked up or isolating fires inside the bins. Whatever the solution may be, clearly there’s a need. No more lives can be lost because of an electronic device, luggage, wallet or anything else blocking a safe evacuation.

I gotta have more kids. […] “Me and my boys [sons] we’re like best friends, it’s unbelievable.” Eliza also wrote a lengthy post about how she felt alone during her pregnancy—until she felt her baby girl kick and reassure her. “There were times I felt so alone and would look down at my belly and immediately cheer up, knowing she’s hanging in there with me through all of the stress and drama,” wrote Eliza on IG. “She’s truly been my protection and kept me strong and going. There were moments I began to doubt myself, but my spirit wouldn’t stay down, thanks to my beautiful little girl. Health complications seemingly from day one. Lost friends, money, opportunities, and even some of the little bit of sanity I thought I had . However, this journey taught me to be more understanding, observant, forgiving, and most importantly PATIENT . There were times I felt so alone and would look down at my belly and immediately cheer up, knowing she’s hanging in there with me through all of the stress and drama. Source: Adene Sanchez/ Getty Images / Getty All Whites Matter… Hoschton, GA Mayor Rejects Black Candidate We’d love to say this is unbelievable but we’ve long known that Georgia outside of Atlanta isn’t the friendliest of places for black people. The mayor of Hoschton, GA is currently the subject of an Atlanta Journal Constitution investigation because she allegedly withheld a job candidate from consideration for a city administrator role because he was black. According to documents obtained by the AJC and interviews with city officials, Mayor Theresa Kenerly told a member of the City Council she pulled Keith Henry’s resume from a packet of four finalists “because he is black, and the city isn’t ready for this.” The mayor’s comments were reportedly whispered to a member of the council during a closed-door session on March 4th, and were overheard. Councilwoman Hope Weeks said Kenerly repeated her comments in the parking lot after the meeting, according to a document released by the city in response to an open records request from the AJC. “She proceeded to tell me that the candidate was real good, but he was black and we don’t have a big black population and she just didn’t think Hoschton was ready for that,” Weeks wrote in an account dated March 4. Weeks shared Kenerly’s comments with Councilwoman Susan Powers and the two decided to take the issue to city attorney Thomas Mitchell. “Both of us were just appalled, so we thought we had to do something to stop it,” Powers said. Weeks declined to be interviewed on the record, but issued a statement saying she was disappointed in the mayor’s comments about the candidate. “Mr. Henry was a very professional and qualified candidate who was a finalist for the position of city administrator before withdrawing to accept another position,” she said. “I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the citizens of Hoschton, but this has been one of the most challenging seasons of my life.” According to emails obtained by the AJC, Mitchell and the city’s five elected officials opted to continue the hiring process, allowing Kenerly to attend but not participate. Mitchell also cautioned officials to cease sending emails about the issue. “I do not think it in the best interests of the city (or the individual elected officials) to continue emailing in this manner,” he wrote in a March 14 email. In emails, Powers protested the mayor’s continued involvement in the search for a city administrator. “Since she corrupted this entire process by trying to shield the application of Mr. Henry from Council members and then making the comment to the effect that while he is qualified he should not be considered because he is black and the city is not ready for this, she should not be a part of this hiring process,” Powers wrote. “I am appalled that in 2019 an applicant would not be hired based solely on the color of their skin.” Henry withdrew his candidacy not long after the March 4 meeting and a phone interview with council members. He told the AJC he chose to withdraw because the city asked that he pay his travel, room, and board to travel for an in-person interview with the promise of reimbursement at a later date. Two of the other candidates for the position were local, while the third was willing to drive from the Georgia coast at his own expense. Henry told the AJC he didn’t detect any bias after being interviewed by Kenerly over the phone but as a black man applying for executive government positions in small Southern towns, he wasn’t surprised that it may have existed. “It comes with the territory,” he said. “If you live in America as a minority you can’t be naïve that it is the reality that you face.” Kenerly refused to initially answer questions about her reported comments, saying she could not publicly talk about matters that occurred in executive session even though the law does not forbid that. “I can’t say I said it or not said it,” she said. Kenerly later issued a statement disputing accounts from other city officials. Kenerly was not without defenders. Councilman Jim Cleveland confirmed many aspects of the story, including his account that Kenerly made a tearful apology in another executive session on March 12, where council members say she claimed to be “looking out” for Henry because the city does not have a lot of minority residents. “I was there for that,” Cleveland said. “She cried. She had tears in her eyes. It was in my opinion a very sincere apology.” Cleveland also seemed to express understanding of Kenerly’s motives saying: “I understood where she was coming from,” he said. “I understand Theresa saying that, simply because we’re not Atlanta. Things are different here than they are 50 miles down the road.” Cleveland described Hoschton as “a predominantly white community” not in accord with urban sensibilities about race.“I don’t know how they would take it if we selected a black administrator. She might have been right,” he said. Cleveland said he ranked Henry fourth out of the candidates in any case because he’d elected not to come for the in-person interview. Councilman Cleveland also shared his not so enlightened views on race: “I’m a Christian and my Christian beliefs are you don’t do interracial marriage. That’s the way I was brought up and that’s the way I believe,” he said. “I have black friends, I hired black people. But when it comes to all this stuff you see on TV, when you see blacks and whites together, it makes my blood boil because that’s just not the way a Christian is supposed to live.” YIKES… Sounds like Hoschton has a loooooong way to go when it comes to race. Located just outside Gwinnett County, in Jackson County, adjacent to the larger city of Braselton, Hoschton has a population of less than 2,000 people and only 201 of that number identify as non-white according to U.S. Census data. Hoschton’s city code reads: “There shall be no discrimination exercised because of race, national origin, color, religion, creed, age, sex … All personnel actions shall be based solely on individual merit and fitness.” Looks like the code is a long way from being followed.

Source: Tetra Images / Getty Miss USA, Miss Teen USA & Miss America Explain Their Achievements On ‘CBS This Morning’ The history-making Black queens of America are ready for their close-ups with their on-camera appearance on CBS This Morning. For the first time, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and Miss America are all Black women and the three appeared on CBS to describe their journey and groundbreaking wins: “It’s symbolic, I think, and it sends a message across the world really that you can be anything you want to be, and there doesn’t have to be just one of us at a time up here,” Miss America 2019 Nia Franklin said on Tuesday. “It can be all. And I think it showcases diversity as well.” Cheslie Kryst, who won the title of Miss USA last Thursday also added, “It’s also a reminder of how far we have to go.” She continued: “I believe when Ursula Burns was no longer the CEO of Xerox, there were no more Black female CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and that is an unfortunate statistic to know. So I think this celebration or this landmark should we celebrated, but it’s also a reminder we have a lot to do.” Kryst currently serves as an attorney in North Carolina who practices civil litigation, and she also represents prisoners in pro-bono work. Miss Teen USA Kaliegh Garris , who ignored advice and proudly showcased her natural curls during the competition, also explained how representation matters: “I have all these influencers that I look up to on social media. Now I’m getting messages from moms of biracial kids, and kids themselves that are biracial. And girls that are scared to wear their hair naturally, and them saying that I have been a big influence in their lives and that they’re going to start wearing their hair naturally or that they’re more proud to just be themselves. It fills my heart with joy,” Garris said. Garris explained how she used to always straighten her hair for pageants: “It’s just kind of what I did. I looked up to my mom a lot, and she had straight blond hair. I really wanted to embody the same characteristics and I thought I had to do that physically. But as I grew up, I realized I can do that while being myself and still be powerful,” she said. You can watch more of what the icons had to say in the clip below!
