Source: Pool / Getty Barack Obama Will Get A Street Named After Him In Los Angeles The city of Los Angeles is showing Barack Obama some major love with the unveiling of Obama Boulevard on May 4. The ceremony will be complete with a street festival for the people. Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson announced the news in a tweet on Tuesday: “It’s here! Join us May 4 for the Obama Blvd. naming ceremony and street festival! The event is FREE to the public but tickets are limited, so sign up to reserve your spot today.” Wesson then provided a link to RSVP for the festivities. It’s here! The announcement comes after the Los Angeles City Council voted in August to rename the city road currently known as Rodeo Road to Obama Boulevard. At the time, Garcetti tweeted that he was thrilled “that Angelenos and visitors will forever be reminded of the legacy of President @BarackObama when traveling across L.A.” It’s no surprise Garcetti was rooting for Obama Boulevard either. Garcetti worked as a California co-chairman for Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and he was also endorsed by the former president during his reelection campaign in 2017. There’s no word if Obama himself will pop up for the event, but surely he’ll take a stroll down his own road in the near future!
Source: Jonathan Minster / Getty 44-year old Martha Ciguenas was arrested on Monday on an aggravated child abuse charge after officials say she 9-year-old son with a meat tenderizer during an argument over his homework. According to the police report, the boy didn’t tell Ciguenas that he was supposed to do additional homework while he was on spring break and she became irate, throwing a water bottle and cellphone at him but missing him. “At one point, Ciguenas grabbed a glass candle holder and hit him in the head with it twice, then grabbed a metal meat tenderizer and hit him in the head, causing lacerations. Ciguenas continued to yell and scream at the boy and hit him on the arm with the tenderizer, causing spike marks and indentations that started bleeding.” Ciguenas denied striking the boy but after child protection services examined him, they concluded that the injuries “were consistent with child physical abuse.” The mom is currently in jail and being held on $5,000 bond. Blige , now you can (potentially) add Adele to the list of famous boss women who’ve had to pay an ungodly amount of money to their ex-spouse during a divorce. Over the weekend, a rep for the Rolling In The Deep singer confirmed that her and her husband of seven years, Simon Konecki, are splitting and reports surfaced soon after that Adele could have to pay up big time. Various U.K. outlets are reporting that Adele and Simon never signed a prenup when they wed in 2011 — which means that Konecki could be entitled to half of the singers earnings. That’s a lot of bread…approximately $182 million to be exact. But the 30-year old songstress could potentially walk away with her full $275 million net worth if she’s plays her cards right. According to lawyer Emma Gill, the courts could deem the marriage as “medium-length”, based on their son Angelo’s 2012 birth, which would ultimately work in Adele’s favor. “If it was a short marriage, Adele would probably walk off into the sunset with her £150 million ($275 million) fortune intact. Because it’s pushed into that medium-length bracket, and some of her successes are squarely within her relationship with Simon, they might be liable to be shared — in other words, Simon could be entitled to half.” Even if Simon was with Adele shooting in the gym, $180 million is a lot of money to dish out for a divorce.
