Source: Justin Sullivan / Getty Oregon County Employee Settles $100,000 “Blue Lives Matter” Lawsuit That’s right, give that sista all her coins. Pay her like you owe her for all the time that you hoe’d her. According to NYDailyNews Karimah Guion-Pledgure will be awarded a $100,000 settlement from her employer, Multnomah County, after she sued their a$$es for creating a racially hostile and insensitive environment just to appease some anti-Black cop lovers. Back in September of 2017, a probation officer who works in her office put up a big “Blue Lives Matter” flag on the wall. Karimah complained because obviously the flag is meant to mock, demean, insult, and otherwise diminish the “Black Lives Matter” mantra that aims to hold police accountable for all the Black people they often eagerly kill. Karimah says she was harassed as her co-workers argued that there was nothing derogatory about the flag. In response, since the supervisors would not force the man to take the flag down, Karimah put up photos of all the Black people who have died unfairly at the hands of police officers. A co-worker immediately complained but Karimah refused to remove the photos since the white man was not made to take his flag down. When the sign policy was changed to require smaller signage, the “blue lives matter” folks all brought smaller flags, and then left signs on Karimah’s “equity wall” that read “thanks a lot” and “bi*ch”. Real classy. After going on leave for weeks, Karimah decided to file a $420,000 lawsuit and eventually settled for $100,000 this week. Oregon Live reports that no signs at allowed at all in the office now. Karimah won AND got paid to leave. Nothing like the smell of white tears in the morning.
Source: ANGELA WEISS / Getty Fans Wants The UK To End Their Ban On Tyler, The Creator Fans of Tyler, The Creator are trying to convince the U.K. government to lift their “petty” ban on the rapper. Back in 2015, the Odd Future founder was informed that he was prohibited from entering Britain for the next three to five years. According to legal documents, the decision was due to the rapper’s controversial lyrical content, specifically citing songs from the 2009 Bastard and 2011 Goblin projects. He was then issued a letter that referenced the country’s Home Office policy on “behaviours unacceptable in the UK”; this was a set of guidelines created in 2005 to prevent suspected terrorists from entering the country. The UK Home Office addressed the ban in the following statement: “Coming to the UK is a privilege, and we expect those who come here to respect our shared values. The Home Secretary has the power to exclude an individual if she considers that his or her presence in the UK is not conducive to the public good or if their exclusion is justified on public policy grounds.” The decision came about a month after Tyler announced the cancelation of his Australia tour on his Twitter page. He informed fans he was banned from Oz after feminist organization Collective Shout pressured the government to deny his visa. “Now [the UK government] are just followers. Everyone is a follower, just following what other countries are doing,” Tyler told The Guardian , suggesting the UK was taking cues from Australia in their ban. “Now I’m getting treated like a terrorist. I’m bummed out because it’s like, dude, I’m not homophobic. I’ve said this since the beginning. The “hating women” thing – it’s so nuts. It’s based on things I made when I was super-young, when no one was listening [to my music].” Fast forward to today, a fan named Sam Roberts created a petition that asks the UK government to end Tyler’s ban immediately. The petition page states that the lyrics in question were “intended as adult humour” and no longer reflect the person Tyler is today, so many years later. According to the page, this petition needs to receive at least 10,000 signatures to get a reaction from the government, and at least 100,000 signatures to be considered for debate in Parliament.
Source: Allen Berezovsky / Getty Producer Said French Montana Coopted His Beat For Rapper’s Hit Song An Illinois producer claims that French Montana straight up stole his beat and used it for the song “Ain’t Worried About Nothin’” when he was still a teenager. Eddie Lee Richardson aka “Hotwire The Producer,” sued French Montana for copyright infringement and more earlier this month, alleging the rapper used his work without permission or payment. Richardson said back in 2012 when he was just 16, he made a song called “Hood Pushin’ Weight,” and registered the song with the U.S. Copyright Office. He said he uploaded the song to site SoundClick, a music sharing website and distribution platform. The plaintiff said French then took the song from the site, and the following year, released “Ain’t Worried About Nothin.’” He said the songs were identical, save for the lyrics and vocals. The producer believes French banked more than $5 million from the song, and he wants money damages that equal the amount of profit grossed from the single. It’s not the first time that French Montana has been in hot water over accusations that he stole music. We exclusively revealed that another producer sued him for the very same thing. In 2017 Morocco-born producer Assil Youssef sued him for using his beat for “Lockjaw” (featuring Kodak Black) without his permission. That case was later dismissed.

Source: Warner Bros. Pictures Surviving La Llorona Hey party people, Alex here with another exclusive edition of Bossip Be Trippin’ fresh out the grease for your weekend thrills (and chills). Now, before we start, I urge you to bless your laptop or phone before reading about my experience at the 2019 SXSW Movie Festival in Austin, Texas (where I may or may not have been haunted by a very ashy and very vindictive Mexican ghost named Ll Llorona). For those not hip, La Llorona is a spooky legend passed down through generations that I just learned about a few weeks ago. And yes, she’s probably standing behind you right now without shoes on. But, anyway, the legend begins with a beautiful woman in love with a man she caught creepin’ ( Note : definitely not a Black man, though, because we don’t cheat) before drowning their kids and herself in a spiteful rage. Boom, the curse of La Llorona was born and lives on as a terrifying tale of “the weeping woman” who stalks and drowns kids when she isn’t looking for her own murdered kids in the darkness. Whew, it’s quite the spook fest that inspired Warner Bros. to connect her to the Conjuring universe and invite me to a haunted hotel for a press junket. Peep my lil video recap here. Pray first, though. View this post on Instagram Survived the Curse of #LaLlorona at #SXSW things went from 0 to hell nawl real quick. @wbpictures had us at @thedriskill (WHICH IS HAUNTED ). No one told me about the hotel’s spooky shenanigans until I was already inside. A little girl died in the lobby & they say she still skips around at night she didn’t come out to play when I was there, tho. She knew better . DEF a Top 5 press junket. Special thanks to @shayross for the experience A post shared by Alejandro NIGlesias (@alejandro_niglesias) on Mar 20, 2019 at 3:55pm PDT Imagine walking into a swanky hotel full of friendly people, delicious food and an open bar without knowing it’s haunted. That’s exactly what I did. And I didn’t find out it was haunted until after drink and plate #2. At that point, it was too late. I was already inside the famously haunted Driskill in downtown Austin where Warner Bros. set up a spiritual cleansing experience along with a haunted hotel historian (to basically tell you about everyone who died in the hotel). Look, I’ve never actually been haunted (as far as I know) but played along anyway and let the healer bless me with rose water and a very special egg. I also learned about a little girl who fell and broke her neck on the lobby steps that you can still (allegedly) hear skipping around. Sadly, she didn’t come out to play with me. I know because I looked for her. While some people were shook and claimed to feel presences around them, I cackled at the over-the-top presentations that continued before AND after the screening of “The Curse of La Llorona” (which I enjoyed and recommend to anyone who enjoys stalker ghost shenanigans). Fast forward to our cast interviews the next day at the (you guessed it) haunted Driskill on the fourth floor aka the most haunted floor in the hotel. BECAUSE OF COURSE. Legend has it that Annie Lennox stayed on that floor and couldn’t decide what dress to wear. Moments later, she returns from the bathroom and finds one of her dresses laid out for her on the bed. THE OTHER WAS LOCKED IN THE CLOSET. BoOoO. Seriously, if you’re ever looking for a hotel where fancy ghosts pick out your outfits, the Driskell is perfect for you. Austin, Texas, you’re beautiful. “The Curse of La Llorona” in theaters now!

Source: ENT / Splash News Chrissy Metz Talks To BOSSIP About Joyce Smith Role Last month we were moved to tears while watching an early screening of ‘Breakthrough’ — a new film in theaters today, which was produced by DeVon Franklin and Stephen Curry and stars “This Is Us” actress Chrissy Metz. Metz plays Joyce Smith, a Missouri woman whose adopted son and two of his friends fell through ice while playing. Two of the boys were quickly rescued, but Joyce’s son John remained under water for some 15 minutes before being rescued. Paramedics couldn’t find a pulse for Smith for a full hour before his mother was called to the hospital to say her final goodbyes. What happens next is truly miraculous — and this is a film based on a TRUE STORY! The film also stars Josh Lucas as Joyce’s husband Brian, Topher Grace as the family’s pastor Jason Noble, Mike Colbert as the paramedic who ultimately rescued John from the lake and Dennis Haysbert and Sam Trammell who played roles as the two doctors who were vital to Smith’s survival. Check out our interviews with Chrissy Metz, DeVon Franklin, ‘Breakthrough’ director Roxann Dawson and the real life John Smith, when you continue. We had a great time chatting with Chrissy Metz about her first feature film role and her love of all kinds of music. We also love that she showed love to female rappers Missy Elliott and Queen Latifah!
