Rest In Peace: Luke Perry Cremated And Ashes Spread Across His Tennessee Farm

Source: NBC / Getty Luke Perry Cremated And Ashes Spread On Farm Luke Perry ‘s sudden stroke and death at age 52 was shocking to say the least and we’re sure that his family and friends are still reeling from the loss. According to TMZ , Luke wanted to be cremated upon death and his loved ones came together to make it happen. For the past 20 years or so Luke has resided on the 380-acre property in the city of Vanleer, TN and his remains were scattered about the land. As for Luke’s connection to the farm … he bought it in 1995 during the ‘90210’ run. He had just starred in the movie “8 Seconds” where he played a young rodeo champ and developed an interest in cattle raising. That’s when he purchased the farm. Luke’s death certificate shows that his body was transported to Dickson, TN which is only about 13 miles from Vanleer. A private ceremony for friends and family will be held in a few weeks. Rest in peace, Luke Perry.

Wiz Kid: Detroit Teen Accepted To 41 Colleges, Receives Over $300K In Scholarships

While rich, White people are paying for their kids to attend college, Black kids are making it happen with sheer brilliance alone. Detroit high school senior, Michael Love , has been accepted into 41 colleges and is being awarded over $300,000 in scholarships. Love told WXYZ : “I got told a lot when I was younger I couldn’t do this, I couldn’t do that. So I just wanted to show people I’m better than what they think I am. I proved them all wrong.” Michael’s mom says she thought her son when crazy when he told her he applied to 50 colleges— but his hard work certainly paid off.  Now the only thing left for the teen to do is decide from his abundance of acceptance letters. His dream is to be an aerospace engineer one day. Congrats, Michael!

TMZ has obtained surveillance footage from a store where Michael Jackson allegedly took sex abuse accuser James Safechuck shopping for jewelry back in 1989. Jackson is said to have donned a disguise including a fake mustache, phony teeth, and a wig to shop at a Zales in Simi Valley. Those of you who weren’t born or were too young might not remember, but this lil’ excursion became a big story in the late 80s because security stopped MJ thinking that he was in disguise to rob the store. At the time no one knew that the little boy seen in the video was with Jackson. TMZ has confirmed that the little boy was Safechuck. Obviously, this case will never see a courtroom, but in the court of public opinion this could be very damning to those were on the fence about Jackson’s guilt. In the Leaving Neverland documentary, Safechuck speaks of an “engagement ring” that Jackson bought him. That ring was not purchased during this trip according to TMZ, but the video definitely begs the question “What the HELL was Jackson doing in a jewelry store with a young boy?”. What do you make of this?

Over Detained Black Man Cleaning Yard We just wanna live our life, aye-aye, aye-aye, aye-aye… Last week we reported on an incident in Boulder, Colorado where police pulled their guns and detained Black Naropa University student Zayd Atkinson for…picking up trash off his lawn. Today, we get word via DailyCamera that the March for Boulder Police Oversight took place yesterday in which angry community made demands for more transparency in the department. Protesters posted up in front of the Boulder Police Department and made their voice heard. Nami Thompson, who does public policy for the Colorado Public Health Association and helped organize the march, asked attendees to email Boulder City Council and Police Chief Greg Testa with two requests: remove rifles from all police cars and allow people to submit anonymous complaints to the department. “When you’re young and you think of police, you think of justice,” Thompson said to the crowd in front of the police station. “But with Boulder police, it’s about justification.” Bars. Thompson also called to fix all the “broken” body cameras that never seen to be operating when controversial arrests or physical force is used. In addition to demanding that a civilian oversight committee be formed so that the community can police the police. Darren O’Conner, who is part of the Boulder Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People or NAACP, said that police shouldn’t be policing themselves. “Internal affairs is too internal,” O’Conner said, referencing the police department that handles internal investigations into police conduct or complaints. “(…) These are friends overseeing friends.” At this point, police officers simply cannot be trusted to be honest and forthright without some serious Big Brothering.

Source: FOX / Getty ‘Empire’ Cast And Crew Anxiously Await News Of Season Six Renewal Fox hasn’t renewed Empire for season six and the cast and crew are anxious about their future paychecks according to what production sources have told TMZ . Word is that the folks who have been working on Empire for years feel that they should have heard by now whether or not Fox is interested in continuing to fund the production. In fact, they expected to hear about the renewal two weeks ago. Crickets. Each season for the past 5 years Fox has renewed the show in January, months ahead of the finale. We can’t imagine that this is going to do good things for morale on set. Obviously, people feel like Jussie’s case will be a major factor in the network’s decision. “Jamal” has already been cut from this season’s final two episodes. Even if Empire does return for season six, it looks like Jussie may be done for good. The suits at Fox aren’t really hype on him and the cast and crew perhaps even less so. Guess we’ll just have to see how everything plays out. Oh, the drama. Smh.
