The Compassionate Carters: Beyoncé And Jay-Z To Be Honored As LGBTQ Allies With GLAAD Vanguard Award

Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty GLAAD To Honor Jay-Z And Beyoncé At Media Awards Beyoncé and Jay-Z are set to receive the Vanguard Award at the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards for being allies to the LGBTQ community . According to a statement via the organization, GLAAD’s Vanguard Award is presented to people who “have made a significant difference promoting acceptance of LGBTQ people.” It went on to say, “Beyoncé and Jay Z are longtime allies and supporters of the LGBTQ community who use their global platforms to share messages that inspire and change the world for the better.” GLAAD noted the work that both Jay-Z and Beyoncé have done throughout their careers on behalf of the LGBTQ community. They include instances like Beyoncé notably speaking out against North Carolina’s anti-LGBTQ “Bathroom Bill” in 2016, also posting a message in support of LGBTQ students after Trump withdrew Obama-era protections for transgender students the following year. Bey has also prominently included LGBTQ people in several of her music videos, along with showcasing transgender actress Laverne Cox in promos for her Ivy Park clothing line. As for her husband Jay-Z, the GLAAD Vanguard Award comes only one year after the rapper received the Special Recognition Award  for his song, “Smile,” in which his mother came out as a lesbian. Like Beyoncé, Hov has also made a point of prominently featuring LGBTQ people in his work, also supporting the passage of marriage equality. “Beyoncé and Jay Z are global icons and passionate defenders of human rights and acceptance for all people,” said GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. “When Beyoncé and Jay Z speak, the world becomes inspired and when it comes to LGBTQ people, their voices of acceptance have been heard loud and clear.” Previous winners of the GLAAD Vanguard Award include Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Demi Lovato, Whoopi Goldberg, and Britney Spears. The 2019 GLAAD Media Awards will be held in Los Angeles on March 28th.

Jesus Take The Musical Selection: Mayor Bill de Blasio Dances To “I Believe I Can Fly” With Enthusiastic Black Church-Goers [Video]

Source: Splash News / Splash News He Joins In At A South Carolina Church By this time, it’s pretty well known White politicians will go the extra mile to *ahem* pander to a Black audience. But if you’re gonna be hanging with the Black folks, at least make sure you get all the latest memos about who we’re messing with, who’s “canceled,” and who’s up for question. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio should definitely know this considering his melanated wife and children . But alas… The politician was caught dancing to an R. Kelly song in the most public of public ways. De Blasio was recently in South Carolina feeling out a presidential bid when he visited a Black church. While many Black people have either canceled or distanced themselves from R. Kelly, considering his alleged abuse history and non-paying a$$ proclivities , Victory Tabernacle Deliverance Temple was still singing “I Believe I Can Fly” loud and proud. And De Blasio joined the musical selection, spreading his arms out like wings and everything. Peep the visuals below. I wonder if the @NYCMayor realizes who sings this song #SouthCarolina pic.twitter.com/zHOESeQDKU — Courtney Gross (@courtneycgross) March 10, 2019   According to New York Daily News , a spokesman for de Blasio said the mayor didn’t know “I Believe I Can Fly” was an R. Kelly song. “The Mayor wasn’t the church’s DJ, and he certainly can’t be expected to recognize every R. Kelly track. Thanks,” said the spokesman Eric Phillips. Seems like de Blasio might want to research his sappy inspirational Black people songs in the future.

Juelz Santana’s Condo Back In Foreclosure (Exclusive)

Source: VH1 / VH1/YouTube Rapper Turned Felon Back In Legal Hot Water With Foreclosure Case He turned himself in late last month to begin his sentence for bringing a gun to the airport. But despite being behind bars, Juelz Santana is still facing legal trouble. The Dip Set rapper is in danger of losing his luxury condo to foreclosure – again – after not paying the mortgage in more than six months, BOSSIP has learned. Wells Fargo Bank sued Juelz last month, alleging that the rapper hadn’t made payments on his mortgage since July 2018 and it wants him out ASAP. Juelz bought the 2,300 square foot condo in 2005 for $540,000 and financed it in part with a $486,000 mortgage with 8.5 percent interest rate, his mortgage states. He agreed to make monthly payments of $3,754 for 30 years to pay for the home. The property is now valued at $391,000, according to Zillow, and is located in a tony Northern New Jersey housing development that was once home to the Notorious BIG. Wells Fargo’s suit marks the third time in two years that Juelz has battled foreclosure proceedings, according to court papers. The bank wants either the money owed on the mortgage or the home sold in order to recover its costs. It also wants Juelz banned from having any stake in the condo’s equity. We exclusively revealed that Juelz has battled to keep his home off the foreclosure rolls for years. But with him now behind bars until at least 2020, it may be harder than ever to come up with the money to get out of the debt. While he was out on bail in his federal gun case, Juelz did not live at the condo, but in the next county over with his now wife, Kimbella , and their two children. On top of the foreclosure suit, Juelz’s homeowner’s association also sued him last month for stopping payment on his condo’s common charges, according to court papers obtained by BOSSIP. The Courts of Glenpointe Condominium Association alleged Santana owed more than $7,000 in maintenance and late fees and hasn’t paid the house bills since Dec. 2018. The association wants the charged paid in full, along with attorney fees, according to the complaint. Juelz’s lawyer hadn’t responded to either lawsuit as of Monday.

Everything Is Sus: Jussie Smollet’s Nigerian Trainer Bros Corroborate That $3,500 Check Was For Training, Chicago PD Lying?

Source: Emma McIntyre / Getty Jussie Smollett’s $3,500 Check Was For Training Say Osundairo Brothers The Jussie Smollett saga takes yet another turn today as a key detail in the Chicago Police Department’s case is proven untrue. According to TMZ , the Nigerian brothers, Ola and Abel Osundairo, have now confirmed that the $3,500 check that Jussie wrote to them was indeed for “training and nutrition”. During their self-aggrandizing press conference, Superintendent Eddie Johnson made a big deal of the “fact” that Jussie wrote the check specifically for the staged hate crime. The bros appear to be siding with Jussie on this particular aspect and that leaves a lot of room to speculate about what else CPD has fudged in their 16 count indictment against the Empire actor. So, did the cops blatantly lie? Are the bros now covering for Jussie? Why did they take so long to address this? WHAT THE HELL IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING HERE?!?! Guess we’ll find out next time on Jussieball-Z.
