Justin Bieber got his haricut, most of the free world knows that by now. Some of his fans don’t like it and he even lost followers on Twitter, which most of the free world knows, too. And the media has done umpteen stories on it, which most of the free world knew would happen. He went on ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’ on Wed. Feb. 23 2011 to talk about it but the interview didn’t contain much that was news. Simply going to Google and writing ‘Justin Bieber haircut’ and clicking on ‘News’ brings up countless stories on the cutting of his hair. Even the high-brow ‘Globe and Mail’ in Canada did a story on it, the headline declaring Justin Bieber cuts his famous hair: Teens mourn around the world . Justin Bieber Haircut Gets Media Attention All Over World Mr. Bieber getting a haircut truly is getting attention over many parts of the world. The Times of India pointed out that the charity-conscious teenager is donating the chopped-off hair to be auctioned off for charity – he gave a box of it to Dengeneres to do just that – and quoted Beiber’s twitter about it Monday, the day he got it cut: “Yeah so it’s true… I got a little haircut… I like it,” Bieber had twittered his fans. “And we are giving all the hair cut to CHARITY to auction. Details coming soon.” Some media online sites decided that a ‘poll’ of fans would be a good idea, the L.A. Times thought so and so did MTVNews. In fact MTV had numerous stories on Bieber’s haircut, with headlines like Justin Bieber’s Haircut Recalls Joe Jonas’ Brush with Scissors , Has Justin Bieber Blown His Hair Dry For The Last Time? and Justin Bieber’s Haircut: Fans Weight In! . All three written by experienced reporter, Jocelyn Vena. Bieber Has Less Hair, More Youtube Views Canadians have a reputation for not liking the limelight but Bieber seems to. He is everywhere in the media and the haircut has only made him more visible. So why? Well, why not? He turns 17 on March 1 2011 and might have been looking to find a way to mark new found maturity. He told Degeneres that he wasn’t concerned about how anyone would react and that he figures fans who don’t like it will get over it. He likely knew the storm of media attention that would follow the cutting of his hair. And it really does seem as if everyone did a story: The New York Times, Reuters, The Guardian, TMZ, The Toronto Sun, the Hollywood Reporter, People Magazine, The Huffington Post, USA Today, The San Francisco Chronicle, SodaHead News (?) and yes, even CNN. Whoopi Goldberg, Suite 101 and Justin Bieber’s Haircut That’s just a tip of the iceberg, or perhaps a lock of the hair, for there are many, many more (even Whoopi Goldberg weighed in – she doesn’t like it). And what about us? Suite 101? Did we do a story on Justin Bieber’s haircut? Darn right we did!

Janky Promoters: Epic Pre-Superbowl Concert Featuring Prince And Erykah Badu Cancelled At Last Minute!

Dear Janky Promoters, This isn’t a club night that’s being hosted by some C-list rapper, this is PRINCE cotdammit! Brutal weather in Dallas battered the Super Bowl festivities, but the biggest fiasco was the Prince concert scheduled for last night and canceled at the last minute. The superstar was due to perform at the Hotel Intercontinental along with Erykah Badu and others, with tickets selling for $1,500 each. But organizers called it off just an hour before it was to start, climaxing a flurry of conflicting statements about the show being canceled, resurrected and canceled again. “We are extremely disappointed that the organizers, the Meridian Entertainment Group and the River Alexander Group . . . were unable to bring Prince and his band to Dallas on Feb. 4,” said Prince’s manager, Kiran Sharma, in a statement last night. “Our understanding is that they lost their investors and were not able to adequately fund and produce the event. Prince was looking forward to performing in support of the Goss-Michael Foundation.” According to sources, the problem started when the River group didn’t cover Prince or his band’s travel costs or the rental of concert equipment. “They kept saying they’d cover the costs after they had the money from ticket sales, but they never could come up with the cash,” said one source. The foundation, which benefits art education, put out a press release yesterday afternoon saying the concert was canceled, and blamed River Alexander Group for being “unable to fund and produce the evening.” A few minutes later, the charity reversed itself, saying, “Circumstances have changed and the event featuring Prince WILL take place . . . Prince has arrived in Dallas and will perform this evening.” But at 6:30 last night, a fed-up Prince personally canceled. Get your sh*t together people, show the man some respect and have your business in order when you’re dealing with artists of this caliber. Source

As one of the year’s most stylish celebrities, Gaga managed to make headlines for her fashions, be they weird or beautiful. (Click for photos of Gaga’s best looks of 2010.) She wore hats made of telephones , semi-nude bodysuits, dresses that looked like they were modeled on planets , lots of bikinis (even one made of meat ), mirrors, sunglasses, masks and really anything your fashionista heart could desire. She took risks, and at times, even when she was dressed more conventionally, still looked edgy and completely herself. As the face of the MAC Viva Glam campaign, Gaga hit the trail alongside pop icon Cyndi Lauper to spread the word about the charity. During an event in London, Gaga donned all-black lace, including a bodysuit and tights. But she took the fitted, demure frock and amped up the style by including a voluminous hat-and-mask combination. Gaga once again wore lace, this time white, to the Almay concert to celebrate the Rainforest Fund. The look included a bodice, a bouffant and a flowery hair clip. Gaga wore several memorable looks to the VMAs , but it was her most sedate that was the most traditionally stylish. Her leather Armani-designed gown might have looked silly on anyone else, thanks to its pointy bustier, but if anyone can pull off points and a Mohawk, it’s Gaga. The singer also displayed her keen eye for fashion on the streets. While out in London in October, Gaga went boho chic rocking a gray and blue wig, tiered pale-blush gown and sunglasses. In October, photographer Garry Sun claimed that Tila Tequila kidnapped his girlfriend. Nothing really came of that allegation, however, except for a restraining order against the man who admits he once dated the pathetic celebrity blogger. Now, Sun has upped his accusatory ante: in an interview with Perez Hilton, he makes it clear that he thinks Tila played a major role in the January death of Casey Johnson . Simply put, Sun says: “Part of the reason why Tila is trying so hard to to have me silenced, jailed, or killed, is because we now know she was responsible for Casey Johnson’s death.” It’s unclear what proof Sun has, but he claims Tequila lied to police when she said she was in Houston during the time of Johnson’s overdose. The photographer details how Tila was in Los Angeles and: “Slipped Casey some pills, possibly OxyContin. Casey immediately began foaming at the mouth and seizing up, and because of the illegal medications, Tila fled the scene.” Sun provides Perez with Tweets that supposedly prove she misled the LAPD concerning her whereabouts. He actually says Joe Francis played a role in helping Tequila concoct her story, arranging for a flight to NYC for the nut job on December 31, 2010. It’s a sordid, confusing story that has us actually believing someone out there might be crazier than Tila herself. We know. We didn’t think it was possible, either.

News has broken the shocking news: Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have split. “They were together for so long. It just ran its course,” an insider says of the break-up, while another source swears the pair remains friends and that “no third party” was involved. As is often the case with celebrity couples, scheduling may have played a role in Zac and Vanessa’s demise. They met on the set of High School Musical and have been together for years, but their careers have taken them to different parts of the world recently. The Russian prime minister is used to taking to the stage, but this time it was not for one of his speeches. Vladimir Putin made his audience sit up and take note, as he sang at a charity fundraiser. The reception at an ice stadium in St. Petersburg was dedicated to fighting children’s cancer. International celebrities including Kevin Costner, Gerard Depardieu, Mickey Rourke, Sharon Stone, Kurt Russell, Vincent Cassel, Monica Belucci, Ornella Muti, Goldie Hawn and many others attended the benefit concert. Many of the stars are actively involved in charity work which draws needed attention to children’s oncological and ophthalmological diseases. When the hostess approached Putin’s table and asked him to sing for the audience, his immediate reaction was “are you kidding me?” But the hostess was determined to get the prime minister on the mic and reminded him about the songs he sang with the Russian sleeper agents extradited from the US last summer. Putin attempted to evade the proposal by saying that the singing she was referring to had come from the heart. However, after seeing the pictures of ill children shown to the audience on the big screen, he took to the stage. “Like the majority of people I cannot – but do like to sing and to play – so you’ll have to rough it,” he warned as he sat at the piano and played the beginning of Blueberry Hill. The tune was immediately caught by Maceo Parker’s jazz band. The prime minister then took the mic and sang it in English himself. Putin returned to the piano to sing in Russian “From What the Homeland Starts” – the song he sang with the exposed Russian agents. The audience loved his performance and showed their appreciation with a standing ovation and applause. Many recorded the one man show on their mobile phones. On December 1, Putin confessed to US chat show host Larry King that he does study some songs in English with his language tutor. When the concert was over Putin took Sharon Stone by the arm and together with other guests they went on stage to sing a Russian song about cosmonauts, “Grass Near Home”. Martyn Andrews, our entertainment expert and host of RT's cultural program “Moscow Out,” thinks that Putin’s gesture at the charity event is great for his reputation, as he’s mostly stereotyped as cold and serious. “It’s not the first time he sung like that,” Andrews said. “The more he does things like this, the more people can connect with their leader.” added by: MotherForTruth
