For a few weeks in early 2011, we all got a laugh out of Charlie Sheen. Remember these Korners ? But Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre, who battled publicly with his show’s lead, tells TV Guide Magazine this month that he and CBS higher-ups weren’t finding the actor’s actions very funny. At all. “The [studio and the network] chose to make a moral decision as opposed to a financial one,” Lorre says . “This was not a game. This was drug addiction writ large. This was big-time cocaine, and in his own words, an ‘epic drug run’ that could have ended with either his death or someone else’s.” Lorre said he chose to reboot the franchise with Ashton Kutcher because he had little to lose, adding that everything with Sheen simply spiraled out of control: “He was a great friend and partner for eight years. And every time he got himself into trouble, we believed that there was healing that was going to come. I certainly believed that sobriety is something that he wants in his life, and I was wrong.” Why did he shut down production on Two and a Half Men ? “I didn’t want to be writing a sitcom while my friend died. Or worse, hurt someone else. We couldn’t be complacent. There was a tragedy unfolding right in front of us. There was violence and blackouts. On a certain level, if you’re looking the other way, you’re responsible. “You couldn’t do that much cocaine and work. It was falling apart. It was heartbreaking to be around here then.” Now, all seems okay for all parties, though. Two and a Half Men remains a wildly-popular show (around 15 million viewers per week) and Sheen has a new FX sitcom in the works. Lorre’s final words for his ex-underling? “I hope he’s happy, I hope he’s healthy. I hope he’s able to be there for his kids.”
Brooke Mueller is headed to rehab. For sure this time. No question about it. We’re pretty sure. After deciding over the weekend to check in to a treatment facility in Los Angeles… only to then decide to go with outpatient care instead … sources now tell TMZ the troubled ex-wife of Charlie Sheen has chosen once and for all to seek professional help for substance abuse. “After further reflection and consideration, Brooke has decided to remove herself from the media spotlight and has entered a long-term in-patient treatment center where she can focus on her recovery without distraction,” her rep says , adding that she’s already checked in to the undisclosed facility. Mueller will retain custody of her twin boys, this insider says, explaining that they’ll remain in their house under the care of a nanny. “Charlie and Brooke’s parents fully support her decision and everyone recognizes the importance of maintaining the children’s normal routine,” the rep concludes.
She to pull an Amy Winehouse and say “no, no, no,” but with her friends afraid she’ll actually end up like Amy Winehouse, Brooke Mueller has agreed to enter a new rehab facility. The troubled ex-wife of Charlie Sheen was arrested last week on drug possession charges, while also accused of punching a woman in the face. She is due back in an Aspen-Colorado court later this month. According to TMZ sources, Mueller will soon leave for an undisclosed treatment facility in the Los Angeles area. Sheen will be in charge of the former couple’s two sons during her time away, a less scary proposition since he stopped residing with numerous “goddesses” and acting like a “warlock.” We wish Brooke all the best in this attempt to get clean. Let’s hope the 17th time is the charm.
According to witnesses, video and arrest records , Brooke Mueller spent Friday night in Aspen drinking, partying, dancing and assaulting. She’s now free on $11,000 bond… thanks to a certain famous, former drug-loving ex-husband. That’s right: Radar Online reports that Charlie Sheen posted his ex-wife’s bond, which shouldn’t come as a major surprise because he and Brooke have grown close again over the last few weeks. But why didn’t any immediate family members step up? They “wanted to leave her in jail,” a source claims , adding that Mueller’s loved one are “done with her” and believe she must get clean… “or she is going to die.” Mueller has been in and out of rehab on numerous occasions. There are still scant details available regarding the latest incident, but documents show she was booked for cocaine possession and third degree assault.
Brooke Mueller is in trouble again with the law. Big trouble. Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife – and the mother of his twin sons – was arrested last night in Aspen, TMZ reports . Law enforcement officials say Mueller was booked on suspicious of felony cocaine possession, along with third degree assault. Not many details are known at the moment, but Mueller was released from Pitkin County Jail early this morning on $11,000 bond. Brooke has been involved in numerous drug-related incidents over the years, but the last few months have seen her grow close again to Sheen , while – seemingly – staying sober. Comedian, radio personality, Charlie Sheen roaster, and sometimes actor Patrice O’N eal passed away following a stroke last month and his long term struggle with diabetes. “Many of us have lost a close and loved friend; all of us have lost a true comic genius,” wrote agent Matt Frost in a statement. O’N eal was best known for his stand up, television, and radio appearances, including stints on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn and the Opie and Anthony show.
