Charlize Theron Joins Bald Actress Club

Before the ‘Mad Max’ star ‘skinned the cat,’ Natalie Portman, Demi Moore and more had also shaved it all off for movie roles. By Jocelyn Vena Charlize Theron and her son Jackson Photo: FameFlynet Charlize Theron made headlines on Monday when she was spotted sporting a shaved head for her role in “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The blond Oscar-winner might have been trying to hide the look under a fedora, but it was clear that her locks had been handed their pink slip. The haircut might have come as a surprise to fans of the “Snow White and the Huntsman” star, but she certainly teased it in a recent discussion about the flick. “It’s been three years: It’s time to skin this cat already!” Theron said last month during a roundtable interview. “I’m very excited about it.” To see other female stars imagined with shaved heads, click here. However, Theron is hardly the first Hollywood starlet to shear off her hair for a big-screen role. She joins an A-list filled list of other leading ladies who have also “skinned the cat.” Sigourney Weaver and Robin Tunney Weaver not only kicks ass and takes names as the iconic Ripley in “Alien 3,” but she also sports a super short hairdo. Ripley certainly didn’t need hair to hold her back as she battled alien creatures in the 1992 film. Three years later, Tunney donned the look for her troubled character in the classic teen flick, “Empire Records,” starting the hair-trimming trend of the ’90s. Demi Moore Moore went Navy chic in “G.I. Jane,” lopping off her famous hair to tackle her physically challenging role in the 1997 film. “We were involved and we realized the importance of the event happening — that sign of commitment. … I was ready for it. So, I feel actually more just liberated by the time we got there,” she said of filming the famous scene in which her character, Jordan O’Neill, chops it all off. Cate Blanchett In 2002, Blanchett cut her hair off playing a vigilante out for justice in “Heaven.” “I think you’ve just got to embrace it,” she later said of the look. “You have to be prepared to shed your natural vanity, and if the part requires it, shed parts of yourself that perhaps make you feel more secure.” Ellen Page and Natalie Portman Page joined a cult and lost her hair in the 2005 flick “Mouth to Mouth,” which she made right before her star-making turn in “Juno.” That same year, Natalie Portman chopped her hair off for “V for Vendetta.” In an interview shortly after filming, she opened up about filming the scene. “It was a one-shot deal,” she told USA Today, “and that was the most stressful thing about the experience.” Cynthia Nixon Nixon went fully bald for her recent role in “Wit” on Broadway. “I thought it was kind of gonna be no muss-no fuss, but I have to shave it every day!” Nixon said of the up-keep for the role. “It’s got kind of a five o’clock shadow, and you don’t want to go on with that,” she said. “I was always kind of curious to see what it would be like. I like it; I don’t think I’m gonna keep it forever.” Anne Hathaway Recently, Hathaway caught everyone’s attention when she sported a super-short pixie cut for her role in the latest big-screen adaptation of “Les Miserables.” The look is consistent with her role in the film, where she plays Fantine, an ill-fated prostitute who chops off her hair to buy food for her child, Cosette. David Arquette Files For Divorce From Courteney Cox

Arquette and Cox have been separated for nearly two years. By Kara Warner Courteney Cox and David Arquette Photo: John Shearer/ Getty Images After nearly two years of separation, David Arquette and Courteney Cox are headed toward divorce. TMZ reports that Arquette officially filed divorce papers last week and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. According to the documents obtained by the website, Arquette is requesting joint legal and physical custody of their daughter Coco. He did not ask for spousal or child support and is apparently representing himself, as he did not list a lawyer. Also, it appears that Arquette signed the divorce documents on March 23 and only just decided to file them. Aside from his brief bit of oversharing about their relationship on Howard Stern’s radio show , Arquette and Cox have kept a relatively low profile since the news broke about their separation back in the fall of 2010. The former “Friends” star was quick to defend the behavior of her husband of 11 years during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar last March. “If you didn’t hear the Howard Stern interviews and you just read quotes, I’m sure it seemed out of context, crazy,” she said. “I’m not saying there wasn’t some crazy behavior, but if you know who David is, you know what his intentions are, how honest he is, and how big his heart is. You can’t really get mad at David because he’s not a malicious person. He was dealing with things the best way he could. He’s not out to harm. But I’m his biggest protector. I can’t help it.” Cox and Arquette met on the set of 1995’s horror blockbuster “Scream” and recently reprised their roles in “Scream 4,” in which their married characters were also dealing with relationship problems. Anne Hathaway ‘Pleased’ With Her Short ‘Les Miserables’ Hairdo

‘I now quite like having short hair,’ actress says of super-shorn pixie look. By Kara Warner Anne Hathaway Photo: Andrew H. Walker/ Getty Images Sometimes just being a beautiful actress in Hollywood isn’t enough; what you need to do in order to really turn heads in this business is take a razor to your tousled tresses. Case in point, Charlize Theron’s radically different new ‘do for her upcoming role in “Mad Max: Fury Road” and Anne Hathaway’s super-shorn pixie look for her turn in the star-studded film adaptation of New York magazine’s Vulture blog recently caught up with Hathaway, who revealed that she is very much enjoying the close-cropped hairdo. “I did it for a film, so it really wasn’t about me and my security,” she said. “I’m just so pleased with how I look, so I now quite like having short hair.” The short hair is a requisite of sorts for Hathaway’s role in the film, in which she plays Fantine, an ill-fated prostitute who chops off her hair to buy food for her child, Cosette. The “Dark Knight Rises” actress also spoke about the pressure of having to sing one of the play’s most iconic numbers, “I Dreamed a Dream,” live on set during filming. “Well, that’s actually the thing we talked about when I first came in to film,” Hathaway said. “I apparently looked like I was ready to face the guillotines. They just kept telling me and the cast to ignore the iconic nature of ‘Les Miz’ and of the song.” Hathaway went on to say that she had to attempt to sing it as if it had never been sung or heard before, despite the fact that she basically grew up hearing the song. “My mom was in the show when I was a kid. She actually covered Fantine and went on the national tour, so it was a really big part of my childhood.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Les Miserables.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

‘Prometheus’: Could There Be A Sequel?

Co-writer Damon Lindelof tells MTV News if there were a follow-up, ‘it wouldn’t be ‘Alien.’ ‘ By Kevin P. Sullivan Charlize Theron and Idris Elba in “Prometheus” Photo: 20th Century Fox In the wake of the mind explosion that was Ridley Scott’s ” Prometheus ,” both fans and haters have been curiously posturing about what it could all mean and whether a sequel is likely or even possible. Though after a solid opening weekend, the fate of a “Prometheus” sequel may now lie in the hands of a Fox executive instead of the creative talent, we spoke with co-writer Damon Lindelof about whether the events and ideas in “Prometheus” leave an opening for a follow-up. Spoilers ahead. Much of the philosophy in “Prometheus” revolves around the unsatisfying nature of ultimate answers, and the film purposely avoids resolving some of the story’s lingering questions. So could a sequel exist without contradicting the ideas of the original? Lindelof told us that “Prometheus” was always intended to be a stand-alone film, but there is the possibility for more story. “The conversations that we had about the story of ‘Prometheus’ and how it would end were always predicated on the idea that there would not be a sequel, that a sequel was not a foregone conclusion, and that the movie itself had to have a feeling of being complete,” Lindelof said. “That being said, we also wanted the audience to feel that, like, if there were a sequel to ‘Prometheus,’ it wouldn’t be ‘Alien.’ ” That idea of a separate narrative arc from “Alien” led to the loose end of Shaw flying off to find the Engineers, so that if a sequel were to happen, it would take the audience to unfamiliar territory. “Something needed to happened at the end of this movie that clearly steered and announced that the direction of the trajectory of this story moving forward was not going to head toward LV-426 and a crashed, derelict ship with a Space Jockey with an exploded chest surrounded by eggs, that Shaw and David were headed in a different direction that was probably not going to result in that,” Lindelof said. “Those two things were sort of simultaneous to each other, so you’re both saying, ‘We want this movie to stand on its own, but we also acknowledge that it needs to end in a way that is very clear that if the story were to progress (if there were a sequel) ‘ We tried to thread the needle between the two ideas.” If the concept of no sequel to “Prometheus” upsets you because of the remaining mysteries, Lindelof suggests you look toward Scott for your answers, because he has them. “Then, of course, for all this talk of unanswered questions or the characters theorizing but not really getting their theories proved or, more importantly, for getting their makers to answer for the condition of the movie, Ridley and I and Jon [Spaihts] all discussed what we felt those answers were and came to agreement on them, so despite whatever slings and arrows come our way, this is not a case of, ‘Well, we didn’t know, so we didn’t bother trying,'” Lindelof said. “We definitely knew, and Ridley decided that the more interesting movie was one where we didn’t explicitly spell that stuff out.” So because Scott designed the movie to be the way that it is, those questions should drive you want more, just like Shaw at the end of the film, but Lindelof promised that the answers you might be searching for could be hidden inside “Prometheus.” “I really believe — and this is not shamed hucksterism — that upon multiple viewings of the movie or just entering into conversation with people who have seen it, there are a lot more answers there than people think there are and room for theories, but the movie needed to end in a way that is Shaw still searching,” he said. “She is not satisfied with the answers that she got. I think that’s very indicative, hopefully, if Shaw is supposed to be the audience proxy, they’re supposed to be feeling the same way that she is at the end of the movie.” For all the “Lost” fans out there, this might all sound like a familiar song and dance, especially coming from Lindelof, and the writer knew he was in for that comparison when he took on Scott’s orders. “To be completely candid, I knew that I’d eat some s— for that for the rest of my career, if there is no sequel to ‘Prometheus,’ but did it anyway, and had Ridley asked me to do it the other way, I would have done that too,” Lindelof said. “This movie is about realizing his vision. He’s only directed three science-fiction films, and now ‘Prometheus’ is one of them, and if he told me to jump off a bridge, I would.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Prometheus.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Charlize Theron Hot in Marie Claire France of the Day

Charlize Theron is the OG South African HIV Probable pussy I wanted to fuck…She was the gateway HIV Probable Pussy to others like Candice Swanepoel….both all tall, lean, blonde and making it in America… She’s in Marie Claire France, in a sheet, looking like she just got fucked either willing or unwilling, at least that’s what I think of when I see a bitch in a sheet, unless I am in a Morgue, but unlike gay porn stars, and possiblyCharlize Theron’s mother who kileld her father, dead bodies aren’t porn to me, so I’m gonna stick with the original ignorant interpretation of this photoshoot that lacks nipples…but that is still kind of hot to those of us who have her 1999 Playboy pictures laminated and in our masturbation folder…..not that I have a masturbation folder filled with print ups of hot sluts, but I am sure some of your freaks do….Who cares…..

‘Snow White And The Huntsman’ Sequel Moves Forward

‘I think the corruption of power would be the second one,’ director Rupert Sanders told MTV News of his sequel plans. By Fallon Prinzivalli Charlize Theron in “Snow White and the Huntsman” Photo: Universal Studios It’s time to re-saddle those horses and take up your armor again, fantasy fans. “Snow White and the Huntsman” is returning once more. Universal is moving forward with their plans to make a sequel to Rupert Sanders’ edgy adaptation of the classic fairy tale, following the film’s box-office debut with $56.3 million last weekend . Deadline New York reports that David Koepp is already working on the script, and now the studio is in talks with Sanders about returning to direct. In “Snow White and the Huntsman,” the princess ( Kristen Stewart ) is helplessly locked in a tower by Queen Ravenna until an opportune moment helps her escape. She journeys into the Dark Forest, where she meets the Huntsman ( Chris Hemsworth ), and together they fight the evil witch to win back their kingdom. When MTV News sat down with Sanders last month to discuss the film, he revealed his initial ideas for the sequel, saying Snow White’s newfound supremacy may lead to her downfall. “I think the corruption of power would be the second one. I think we’ve created this very chaste girl who’s got to this position and now she’s in this position of supreme power,” he said. “We wanted to be contemporary with the theme here and I think in the next film we’ll do the same. There’s so many examples of people corrupted by power. When we were talking about it, myself and [producer] Joe Roth, there were so many things happening in the newspapers of these very powerful men abusing that power in hotels and sports locker rooms. People who get powerful sometimes lose their bearings and abuse that power and that’s kind of an intoxicating theme.” While the story line certainly sounds interesting, when we spoke to Stewart at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards , she seemed skeptical. “Well, I’m not saying anything. Nothing at all,” she laughed. “Let’s undermine our entire lead character in the very second [film]. It’s like, ‘No, that’s my whole [thing].’ It would be so weird to [make her darker]. It would break me, which would probably be interesting to watch.” “But then we have to rebuild you, which is exciting,” co-star Hemsworth added. The actress, however, has nothing to fear yet. While Sanders is attracted to this character arc for the fairy-tale princess, he’s not positive that we’ll see her go rogue in the sequel. “I’m not sure whether that’s what the second film will be,” he said. “But I like that idea at the moment. You[‘ve] got to play with it a bit.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Snow White and the Huntsman.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Charlize Theron "Totally Open" to Game of Thrones Role

She stars in the biggest movie in the land ( Snow White and the Huntsman ), and also stars in what is bound to be the biggest movie in the land this weekend ( Prometheus ). But Charlize Theron is focused on the small screen. In a recent interview , the Oscar winner copped to being a MAJOR Game of Thrones fan, saying: “I am absolutely foaming at the mouth over Game of Thrones . I cannot get enough of that. When my son came in my life, that was a bottle feed because I couldn’t watch television; I used to watch so little. That was my TiVo feed every two hours – watching Game of Thrones . My mom was like, “Do you think it’s fine that you’re feeding your son while there’s like sword fights?” I was like, “It’s fine, Mom. It’s fine.” Would she guest star on the HBO epic? “I’d be totally open to it.” Game of Thrones , of course, is notorious for its sex and nude scenes. So, in other words series casting directors: Give Theron a call. NOW!
