If y’all haven’t been watching VH1′s new scripted series “Hit The Floor” you’re missing out on our new crush Jonathan McDaniel, who plays “good guy” boyfriend German Vega to main character Ahsha Hayes… But McDaniel is no newcomer to the small screen (or big screen for that matter). Check out his bio and new single “Ima Love You Down” below: In 2001, teen rapper, Lil’ J was introduced to millions worldwide when his single, “Ain’t Nothing but a She Thing” (with Nobody’s Angel) was featured on the soundtrack for the blockbuster film, “The Princess Diaries.” A year later, his debut album, “All About J” was released by Hollywood Records and before long, Lil’ J joined the cast of Disney’s hit show, “That’s So Raven” starring opposite Raven Symone as her boyfriend, “Devon Carter.” Lil’ J had captured the hearts of tween girls around the world. Lil’ J finished out his teen years with continued musical success abroad and ongoing TV and film appearances, including “Nora’s Hair Salon,” “South of Pico,” “Cougar Town” and “Kill Katie Malone,” among others. Last year, he shed his Lil’ J nickname and Jonathan McDaniel stunned audiences at the American Black Film Festival with his lead performance in the critically acclaimed drama, “In the Hive” directed by Robert Townsend. Channeling his experience as a homeless teen living on the streets of Hollywood, Jonathan was unforgettable as “Xtra Keys” opposite the late Michael Clarke Duncan, Loretta Devine and Vivica A. Fox. He returned to the small screen alongside Kimberly Elise, Dean Cain and Charlotte Ross in Vh1′s runaway smash hit scripted drama series, “Hit the Floor” that premiered on Memorial Day. With his new EP, “Unknown” scheduled for release in late July, the first single is truly an unexpected collaboration!
