Robert Nickelsberg/Getty Images L.A. Teen Killed By Police We were saddened to learn of the death of Anthony Jacob Weber, a 16-year-old teen killed this weekend in South Los Angeles by police. According to Independent reports , officials are claiming that Weber had a gun tucked in his waistband at the time he was shot, but they believe someone in the crowd may have removed the weapon during the confusion that followed. The incident happened after someone called 911 Sunday night to report a man had pointed a gun at his car. Deputies encountered a 16-year-old boy matching the suspect’s description — a black man wearing a black T-shirt and jeans. Police claim they ordered the suspect to stop, but he took off running into an apartment complex, detectives said. The boy, identified by family members as Anthony Jacob Weber, appeared to have a gun tucked into his waistband and away from the deputies, sheriff’s Capt. Chris Bergner said. A witness told detectives they remembered hearing the deputies yell out, “Don’t reach for it!” but didn’t know whether Weber had a gun, he said. The deputies chased Weber into the courtyard of an apartment complex, where he turned around and reached for his waistband, Bergner said. As he turned around, a deputy opened fire, shooting off 10 rounds, the captain said. It was unclear how many times Weber was shot. About 30 to 40 people flooded into the apartment complex’s courtyard and surrounded the two deputies as Weber lay wounded on the floor, officials said. Investigators believe that while the deputies were waiting for backup to arrive someone in the crowd grabbed the gun from the scene. “They believe that somebody reached in and may have taken a gun,” Berger said at a news conference. The weapon hasn’t been recovered. Weber was the father of an infant daughter. “My son was a good son. He was a great brother. He had the biggest heart,” Weber’s mother, Demetra Johnson, said. “He had a 9-month old daughter, Violet, that lights up every time he walks in the room. He didn’t deserve this. He don’t (sic) have that kind of heart that deserve this kind of killing.” Prayers up for Weber’s family. Singer has been accused of “ask[ing] Taubes to purchase designer clothes for the filming of Ms. Singer’s show, and instructed plaintiff to submit receipts to Bravo cable Network for reimbursement,” the court papers, filed by agency T360, state. She “then asked Ms. Taubes to return the clothes for refund.” The 61-year-old, “also instructed Plaintiff [to] submit fake receipts for reimbursement on clothes that she already owned and demanded plaintiff carry out these tasks,” the complaint reads. The lawsuit did not say how much money in total Ramona has made from the alleged scamm and neither Singer nor her rep has returned any messages for comment. The allegations emerged in a filing against the star by an agency named T360, which provided her with an assistant. Apparently, Ramona initially agreed to pay $4,000 a month for no more than 20 hours of assistant time, but allegedly demanded Taubes work over 40 hours a week without extra compensation, violating of their contract. With under two months until the film’s release, this move by Mattel to add its characters to the Barbie universe is a great way to drum up even more anticipation for the movie that boasts Ava DuVernay’s $100 million directing talents. Via Entertainment Weekly: The “Mrs. W” trio of Ava DuVernay’s ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ has entered the Barbie universe. Reese Witherspoon’s Mrs. Whatsit, Oprah Winfrey’s Mrs. Which, and Mindy Kaling’s Mrs. Who, have been transformed into a set of collectible dolls ahead of the fantasy film’s release, and the director herself is a fan. Barbie’s website lists the dolls as being “for the adult collector.” They’re not available for purchase just yet but will retail for $50 each. This isn’t the first time that DuVernay has had a connection to Barbie. Back in 2015, she was transformed into a Barbie doll as part of the Mattel company’s “Shero” campaign, which honored real-life women and their accomplishments in entertainment. We have a pretty major and surprising update on the sudden death of Joel Taylor. As previously reported, the former Storm Chaser star was found dead on Tuesday, passing away at the very young age of 38. Multiple friends and ex-co-workers took to social media to confirm the sad news and also to pay tribute to Taylor, who graduated from the University of Oklahoma and who was rose to fame on the aforementioned Discovery Channel reality show. He was admired by nearly everyone in the field of meteorology. At the time of these reports and Twitter posts, however, the circumstances around Taylor’s death was unknown. And the same could be said for his cause of death. Now, however, TMZ and People Magazine have provided many more details on just what transpired Tuesday morning. For starters, Taylor died on board the Royal Caribbean Cruise ship Harmony of the Seas. It left from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico after his corpse was discovered by a fellow passenger. “The U.S. Coast Guard in San Juan, Puerto Rico was notified today in the afternoon by the Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas cruise ship that they had a death on board,” Ricardo Castrodad, public affairs officer for the Coast Guard’s San Juan sector, told People. Taylor’s family has reportedly identified his body. At the time of Taylor’s passing, the ship was hosting Atlantis Events’ all-gay Caribbean Cruise; Olivia Newton-John was the headlining act. According to TMZ sources, drugs were prevalent on board the cruise liner. It seems as though Taylor was partaking, per a law enforcement official who said the following to the celebrity gossip site: “It appears the death could be an overdose and Joel Taylor was consuming controlled substances.” A passenger who spent time with Taylor adds that he had consumed so much GHB on the dance floor early Tuesday morning that he was rendered unconscious and carried back to his cabin by two people. A few hours later, his body was discovered and the authorities were called in. TMZ goes on to write that the abundance of GHB, cocaine and ecstasy on the boat has triggered an FBI investigation . Numerous individuals were apparently arrested for possession before the cruise left Fort Lauderdale and this agency will be looking into how the drugs ended up on board the ship. And not merely on board, either, but on board in significant quantities. Taylor’s close friend and former colleague Reed Timmer was among the first to publicly mourn his passing on social media. “RIP my best friend and storm chasing partner, Joel Taylor. I am shocked and absolutely devastated by the loss of my incredible, caring friend,” Timmer Tweeted along with image of the pals when they were chasing storms together since 2008. He added: “We chased so many intense storms, and I wish we could have just one more storm chase. I’ll miss you forever, Joel. We lost a legend.” Added the Discovery Channel in a statement: “We are so saddened to hear about Joel’s passing.
