It’s official: Taylor Swift is funnier, cooler and a much better actress than Kim Kardashian . The wildly popular singer anchors a new commercial for the MTV Video Music Awards, appearing opposite host Kevin Hart and poking fun at the fact that she writes so many songs about ex-boyfriends. It’s pretty funny and Swift is pretty terrific in it, which is a stark contrast to the wooden Kardashian and the lack of humor in her VMA ad from a couple weeks ago. Check it out now:
“Do you have any idea what a Thompson submachine gun does to a mortal?” Guy Pearce tells Tom Hardy about midway through this red-band trailer for Lawless . And, well, before you can say, “Swiss cheese!”, Gary Oldman is riddling some poor sap in an old-fashioned automobile with lots of lead. That’s not even the toughest scene to stomach in the promo for this inspired-by-true-life tale about the brutal bootlegging Bondurant Brothers in Prohibition-era Virginia, which also stars Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska. There’s another luckless soul who appears to be force fed about a gallon of gasoline — and they don’t even check his oil! Check it out below:

As Carter described “MOTH is a suspenseful short film about a troubled young model/starlet who “can’t find the right path, get it right at this moment.Drugs put her in a dangerous spiral that the viewer is not sure she will escape.” Escape or not, the film is well written and directed. While it may only be just under 15 minutes, it pulls you in with it’s immediate mood and undertone. Visually pleasing, the film and Hilton Carter are both worth watching.

The anticipation levels couldn’t be any higher over in these parts when it comes to Nas’ new album Life Is Good but in the meantime we have been happily taking in all the leaked songs, interview excerpts and video footage from Nas’current European tour. Speaking of which, Nas just released this live performance of “A Queens Story” with Green Lantern from their Paris show. Check it out: And it’s interesting that he declares Marvin Gaye his favorite artist in that clip, because he’s described “Life Is Good” as his own version of Gaye’s “Here, My Dear” particularly because he’s holding part of Kelis’ dress on the album cover: “I found it in my house and thought, it’s going somewhere! Either on the cover of my album, or burning in a garbage can.” He laughs. “I was angry when I first found it. Hurt and angry – but I don’t think she left it deliberately to hurt me. It’s just part of the dress, so I don’t know where the rest of it is. But it made all the sense in the world for me to … hold on to that.” He pauses. “I guess that’s just my personality. “My wedding and my marriage was, for the most part, some of the most amazing times of my life.” He clears his throat. “She’s an incredible woman. It just ended really publicly, it seemed real bad. I guess this is my Here, My Dear album, that Marvin Gaye made. It might not be quite so much about the marriage or the divorce, but it’s still that kind of record for me.” The latest song to leak off “Life is Good” is a brilliant tribute to his former lady love Kelis called “Bye Baby.” The song, produced by Salaam Remi and Noah “40″ Shebib samples Guy’s “Goodbye Love” and we couldn’t help but to smile a little as Nas recounts his life with his former wife. If you haven’t heard it yet, you have to check it out: Do you think Nas will catch any flack for getting “sensitive” in song? Just a thought. Hit the flip for Nas’ collabo with Amy Winehouse.
Hot dudes and with asses in air… A few thongs and strippers galore. A party in Miami, Key West or Palm Springs? Nahh… It’s Magic Mike of course and the latest trailer shows off a bit of skin courtesy of Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey — the resident hotties who will hold court in their sexiest in Steven Soderbergh’s latest film. There was a time in the not too distant past that Soderbergh said he was ” retiring ” from filmmaking, but things clearly changed and he found inspiration to continue. Good for him, since most ladies (and some gentlemen) will likely enjoy the show. By the way, there are more ass and skin scenes with Matthew McConaughey — and even a little bondage — to be had in Lee Daniels’ new film, The Paperboy , which premiered in Cannes last month . But back to Magic Mike … the story revolves around a male stripper who teaches a younger performer how to party, pick up women, and make easy money. “They also had to be able to do what we needed them to do and willing to do what we needed them to do,” Soderbergh told Indiewire back in January about making the film. “But I mean, we got really lucky. All these guys were great and have brought something specific to the movie. There’s nothing like shared potential humiliation to bond.” We can’t agree more… And what do you think of the fleshy teases? Check it out… Magic Mike hits theaters on June 29.
