WELP! Black People Are Being Pushed Out Of Atlanta” Billboard An anti-gentrification billboard is making national headlines. On Atlanta’s I-285 highway, drivers are seeing a billboard that reads, “Black people are being pushed out of Atlanta”—which is indeed true. In addition to the message, however, there’s a deeper meaning behind it. The billboard is actually advertising a documentary from Black Channel Films. The doc is called “Gentrified” and it’s said to explore “the unspoken ethnic component behind the most devastating socioeconomic movement in American society today.” According to The AJC , the film was shown at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Shrine of the Black Madonna Cultural Center and Bookstore in Atlanta. It was also followed by a Q&A with Mary Gill of WAOK 1380 AM. The documentary will also be shown in New York, Chicago, London, Detroit, Houston and Washington D.C. During his ill-fated run for the presidency, Jeb Bush referred to his father, former President George H.W. Bush, as the greatest man alive. The 2016 election obviously didn't turn out the way his family hoped, but judging by the reaction his old man got at Super Bowl LI? Jeb! hit the nail on the head with that statement. George Bush served one term as president from 1989-1993 before being replaced by Bill Clinton, who defeated him in his bid for reelection. The father of Clinton's successor, George W., the elder Bush has become an even more respected statesman in the two decades since. He and former First Lady Barbara Bush received a massive ovation as they oversaw the coin toss at the big game on Sunday night. It marked the first public event since the couple – based in Houston, the host of the Super Bowl – was hospitalized within days of each other. George went home from the hospital last week after being treated for pneumonia. He had been at Houston Methodist Hospital since January 15. After experiencing shortness of breath, he was later admitted to the ICU to address an acute respiratory problem stemming from pneumonia. Bush’s wife was admitted to the same hospital on January 18 as a “precaution.” Her doctors later said she was suffering from bronchitis. The hospitalizations forced the duo to miss President Trump’s inauguration on January 20, though they wished him the very best. Last night, the entire nation saluted the very best. The 41st President of the United States was taken to midfield for the coin toss in a wheelchair while his wife rode alongside in a golf cart. Bush is 92. Barbara, 91, married him 71 (!) years ago. The Bushes were greeted with a well-deserved ovation so loud, the game's referee struggled to be heard during the opening ceremony. The winner of the coin toss? America. Lady Gaga descended from the rafters of NRG Stadium in Houston on Sunday night. To kick off her Super Bowl LI halftime show , the artist literally dropped down from the very top of the arena, prior to belting out a bevy of her classics for those in attendance and the millions watching at home. She danced. She played the keyboard. She even caught a football at one point. It was great. In several weeks, however, Lady Gaga may very well descend upon your hometown. Oh, yes, the singer followed up her well-reviewed halftime show with the announcement of a world tour. Titled the Joanne World Tour, these concerts will be in support her fifth studio album, Joanne. Gaga previously headlined the Fame Ball Tour (2009), the Monster Ball Tour (2009-2011), the Born This Way Ball (2012-2013), and ArtRave: The ARTPOP Ball in 2014. Some may also remember that Gaga once hit the road with Tony Bennett for the Cheek to Cheek Tour (2014-2015). Will the eccentric sensation be playing at a venue near you?
