Source: Goads Agency / Getty Families Demand That Chicago PD Investigate Dozens Of Strangled Women Chicago police are under fire from the families of over 50 woman, mostly Black, who want to know exactly who killed their loved ones. According to CBS Chicago , between 2001 and 2019 there have been 51 bodies of strangled women found in the streets of Chicago, many of them on the west side and south side. Many in the community fear a serial killer after missing person cases like those of Kierra Coles and Chaunti Bryla. The Dreamcatcher Foundation staffer Brenda Stewart had this to say via WGN-TV : “I feel that people don’t care about women that are on drugs, work the streets. I mean, they’re human,” she said. She said the unsolved cases of mostly black women is scary. “If a family member doesn’t push the issue, of course they’re not going to look. That’s just another dead body, let’s take her to the morgue, she works the streets,” she said. Facts. We already know the system doesn’t prioritize Black women, much less Black women sex workers and drug users. Sanitation worker Riccardo Holyfield’s cousin Reo Renee Holyfield was found in the garbage bin last year, he agrees with Stewart via CBS Chicago: “If something don’t get done, it’s going to get worse,” Riccardo said. “People keep dismissing us because of these women’s backgrounds.” Despite the fact that these families are 100% right: Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said right now there is just not enough information to say a serial killer or killers are responsible for strangling the women, but until arrests are made their families will continue pushing. No shock there. SMFH.

E ducator and historian Lonnie G. Bunch III has dedicated his career to the preservation of important facets of American history. After leading the creation and development of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Newark native will now serve as the Smithsonian Institution’s 14th secretary; making him the first Black person to be appointed to the position, NPR reported. Smithsonian names Lonnie Bunch III as new secretary, the first African American to lead the institution https://t.co/9e9BhKCGCW — The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) May 28, 2019 Bunch was selected by the Board of Regents to take on the role. He succeeds David Skorton who has served as the institution’s secretary since 2015. In his new position, Bunch will be responsible for steering the direction and driving growth for the Smithsonian as well as overseeing the daily operations of all of its libraries, museums, and the National Zoo. He began his journey with the Smithsonian nearly 30 years ago and has held several executive level positions at the National Museum of American History. When he became the director of the National Museum of African American History and Culture there was only one person on staff and no funding. Through his leadership the museum—which has over 40,000 artifacts that capture the essence of the Black experience—has attracted upwards of 4 million visitors. Bunch has also spearheaded capital campaigns for the Chicago Historical Society where he served as president from 2001 through 2005. One of his goals as secretary of the 173-year-old institution is to keep history relevant in a digital age. He wants the artifacts and information housed in the Smithsonian institutions to foster creativity and innovation. “It is important for the public to view the Smithsonian not simply as an addict of nostalgia, but as a cauldron of ideas of innovation and understanding that can be transformative for our country,” he said in a statement. “It must be an institution that is ripe with technology, an institution better suited to serve 21st century audiences, and an institution of research, of great collections, and of wonder that helps America understand itself and its world.” Bunch is slated to officially start his new position on June 16. Source: Allen Berezovsky / Getty Scottie Pippen Adds 5-Year-Old Girl To Lawsuit According to NBC , former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen has accused a young girl of defacing his Florida mansion with markers and crayons in a lawsuit he filed against the child’s parents. Pippen claims the girl, who was then 4 years old at the time, damaged “certain elements of the property” with coloring tools, adding that her parents, comedian Lindsay Glazer and Jacob Woloshin, had “responsibility for her conduct.” Pippen filed the suit in a Broward County court in 2018 alleging that Glazer and her husband destroyed his Fort Lauderdale home by causing more than $109,000 in damages. The couple moved into his house after theirs was damaged in September 2017 by Hurricane Irma. They all agreed that the couple would pay $30,000 a month for rent. Pippen had placed the home on the market, but agreed to let them stay only if they kept the property in “top show condition,” the lawsuit states. Pippen also alleged the couple allowed their pets (a dog and a cat) to “urinate throughout the home, thereby causing permanent stains and unsanitary conditions.” Pippen is demanding payment for damages, legal fees and other costs.
T he city of Chicago is still hungry for Jussie Smollett . Therefore, a judge ruled to unseal the documents in his case — however, it’s only the documents from the perspective of the corrupt Chicago Police Department. One revelation is that the home of the Osundairo brothers was packed with drugs and guns. See Also: Complete Timeline Of Jussie Smollett Investigation TMZ reports they had a vault of guns that included the following: — a hipoint model C9, 9MM caliber semi-auto pistol — 9MM caliber magazine with live rounds — 45ACP caliber magazines — Boxes labeled Remington 22 Rounds — a box labeled Hornady 00 buck shotgun shells No wonder on what these guns were for or if the guns were legal. The site also says, “They found a paper packet containing 2 small plastic bags with white powder, but there are no specifics about what that white substance was.” The report also claimed that one of the brothers sold weed to the “ Empire ” actor but this was already reported back in February . Abel and Ola , who have never commented publicly on their involvement in the case, reportedly have not been able to land an agent since the Smollett case went public. Originally, their fitness training business was skyrocketing but “many of their potential clients turned out to be feigning interest in getting in shape and were really looking to get details on Jussie’s case.” Other damning information about the brothers has surfaced in April. It was reported that Olabinjo Osundairo was charged with attempted murder in 2011. He reportedly reached a plea deal “with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to aggravated battery; he was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay a $674 fine.” As for Smollett, his career has also taken a hit. He is no longer being considered to play the lead role in the Broadway revival of “ Take Me Out ,” which is about a mixed-race baseball player. The role supposedly went to Jesse Williams . There have also been several reports that he will no longer be on “Empire” but his contract is still in place. On Jan. 29, while walking to a subway, Smollett claimed two men yelled racial and homophobic slurs at him, investigators told The Hollywood Reporter . They allegedly punched and poured bleach on him while one of the suspects put a rope around his neck. As they fled the scene, Smollett told police they said, “This is MAGA country.” Smollett has maintained his innocence.
