Poker Champ Arrested: Greg "Fossilman" Raymer Snared in Prostitution Sting

World Series of Poker champ Greg Raymer, a.k.a. Fossilman, was arrested in Wake Forest, N.C., after allegedly trying to solicit a prostitute – online. Fossilman got popped at a hotel on Wednesday. Raymer, 48, was reportedly one of six men who responded to an advertisement posted by an undercover officer on a website frequented by prostitutes. He has since been released on $1,000 bond. As famous for his lizard-eye hologram sunglasses – worn indoors – as for his 2004 WSP title, Raymer has made millions playing poker and is married. Officials say the prostitute(s) involved were female, contrary to initial reports that claimed Raymer and the other men had solicited male escorts.

Kristen Stewart tells the Chicago Sun-Times that she was inspired to play “wild, sexy girl” Marylou in On The Road , despite pushing her own boundaries. The actress says her sex scenes were “necessary,” that Marylou was surprisingly self-aware, and that in the end, “human beings are just animals.” “It’s about fiercely living and squeezing every single drop out of life and not denying any aspects of it,” she said, calling the sex scenes “non-gratuitous.” Stewart, 22, played against type in the 2012 adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s classic American novel, shedding any semblance of her inner Bella Swan. If you saw it … there was nothing PG-13 about Stewart’s role. “So much is clearly illustrated through her sexuality in her film,” Kristen Stewart said of her Marylou. “But there was nothing about it that seemed gratuitous.” “It all just seemed so necessary. There was simply no question that this would be a more sexual role. Chicago Mom Sues McDonald’s After Son Eats Condom In His Food Via MiamiHerald A lawsuit against McDonald’s alleges a child ate a used condom he found in the play area of one of the chain’s Chicago restaurants. The suit was filed Wednesday on behalf of Anishi Spencer and her two sons, who were 3 and 2 years old at the time of the alleged incident in February 2012. The mother alleges the 2-year-old coughed up a piece of the condom and that both children required medical treatment. The suit accuses McDonald’s of failing to remove harmful debris from an area used by children. McDonald’s said Thursday it was investigating. It added in a statement that “providing a safe, clean environment is a top priority.” The woman’s attorney, Jeffrey Deutschman, says he tried for months to reach a settlement but got no response. Words can’t even begin to describe how ignorant we would have acted in that Mickey D’s if our child coughed up a condom! Fawk an apology and free food, somebody gotta catch the epic bus driver uppercut !

Derrick Rose Offers To Pay For Funeral Of Slain Chicago Infant Chicago Bulls player Derrick Rose has reached out to the family of the 6-month old baby girl who was tragically shot to death in Chicago on Monday and offered to cover the cost of her funeral.   Rose, who has a 4-month-old newborn baby boy himself [pictured above], also took to his Twitter express his condolences and love for his city following the horrific shooting news. via Inquisitor Defending Chicago Bulls MVP Derrick Rosehas reportedly offered to pay for the funeral of Jonylah Watkins, the 6-month-old baby who was tragically shot to death on the south side of the city on Monday. The Inquisitr reported earlier that an unidentified man walked up to a minivan on Monday and fired several shots in the window. Jonathan Watkins, who was the target of the shooting, was changing Jonylah Watkins’ diaper at the time. The little girl was shot five times. Watkins was also hit but he managed to survive the shooting. Rev. Corey Brooks, acting as a spokesman for Jonylah Watkins’ family, said: “He is giving them the information that they are asking for … He is answering every question.” Brooks also said that the family won’t have to worry about funeral costs as Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose has offered to take care of the funeral costs. This is such a horribly sad story. We continue to keep this family in our thoughts and prayers.

Dennis Rodman: En Route to the Vatican to Meet the New Pope!

As the College of Cardinals decides on who will be the next Pope , one layman is determined to meet His Holiness and chart a global course for peace and prosperity. Fresh off his “basketball diplomacy” trip to North Korea, NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman is en route to Vatican City with hopes of meeting the new pontiff. On Tuesday, Rodman was en route to Rome with the goal of meeting the Catholic Church’s next leader, with the conclave underway inside the Sistine Chapel. While it may be some time before white smoke billows out of the chapel’s chimney signaling the election of a new pope, Rodman is excited about it. He said his recent meeting with reclusive North Korean leader Kim Jong Un would prove he was worthy of at least a meeting with the pontiff-elect. “I want to be anywhere in the world that I’m needed,” Rodman told TMZ. “I want to spread a message of peace and love throughout the world.” The former Chicago Bulls star said his “people” were in contact with the powers that be to arrange a meeting with the successor to Pope Benedict XVI . ”He wants Obama to do one thing: Call him,” Rodman told ABC’s This Week . Claiming that he broke barriers in North Korea that no one else could, Rodman said he could also be the man to help craft plan of peace for the new pontiff. Here’s hoping?

Chicago Murders Down 26% From Last Year Via NBCChicago After Chicago’s murder rate made national headlines last year, the city’s police superintendent announced murders are down 26 percent. That’s compared to where the city was this time last year when murders shot up in the first quarter. Shooting incidents are down 19 percent year over year, Supt. Garry McCarthy said. He said the majority of that can be traced back to guns and violence, which police are trying new tactics to combat. In the past month, narcotics officers on the West Side have done a number of undercover drug buys with a focus on “that H” and crack. One buy ended with 15 gang members in custody and the other led to the arrest of a dozen. The store where the second investigation led to a bust has since been shut down, and McCarthy said that should serve as a warning to other Chicago businesses. “It’s real simple,” McCarthy said. “If you’re engaged in it, you’re going to lose your business. If you’re engaged in facilitating or tolerating these behaviors, you’re going to lose your licenses and we’re going to go after your business.” In the first 10 weeks of 2013, McCarthy said Chicago police took 3,100 guns off the streets. Congratualations to Supt McCarthy and the Chi-town police department. Now we know you all can be as crooked as the day is long, so we hope that these numbers are a true reflection of a decrease in crime and not some math trick that makes it appear that you are actually doing a good job. Christian Slater has finally tracked down some true romance. The actor announced on Jimmy Fallon this week that he’s engaged to Brittany Lopez, sharing a hilarious story of how they met and what he thought of his now-fiancee at the time. After witnessing Lopez get down on one knee in front of a woman at Little Palm Island Resort near Miami, Slater explained: “I thought I had just witnessed a nice lesbian engagement, so I was coming over to say congratulations, but it turns out it was her aunt, and she was just trying to help her aunt capture the beauty and the romance of the moment. She was making a joke, and I witnessed it, and it intrigued me, and the next thing I knew, we were hanging out in the Everglades.” This will be the second marriage for Slater. He shares two kids with ex Ryan Haddon, Jaden, 13, and Eliana, 11.

Kim Jong Un and Dennis Rodman: Friends For Life!

Kim Jong Un and Dennis Rodman bonded over basketball yesterday, with the former NBA star telling the North Korean dictator “you have a friend for life.” Seriously, this happened. Rodman, 51, who is filming a documentary with U.S. media company VICE, is in Pyongyang along with members of the famed Harlem Globetrotters. “The Worm” spent quality time with the reclusive North Korean leader – a big fan of his as a kid – dining on sushi and drinking with him at his palace. It’s still unclear what exactly will result from this “basketball diplomacy” mission in terms of media (or diplomacy), but whatever it is should be something. The unlikely encounter makes Rodman the most high-profile American to meet Kim Jong Un since the young North Korean leader took power in 2011. Yes. Dennis Rodman in North Korea . His trip also takes place against a backdrop of tension between Washington and Pyongyang, which conducted an underground nuclear test just two weeks ago. Kim, a diehard basketball fan, told the former Chicago Bulls star he hoped the visit would break the ice between the United States and North Korea. Kim laughed and slapped his hands on the table before him during the game as he sat nearly knee to knee with Rodman, who chatted with him in English. “They bonded during the game,” VICE’s Shane Smith said by phone from New York after speaking to the crew. “They were both enjoying the crazy shots.” “The Harlem Globetrotters were putting on quite a show.” Oh to be a fly on the wall during those conversations. No word if Dennis, who may or may not know South Korea is a different place , plans to tell Kim to hand over the keys to the nukes at the end of the trip.

Lil Wayne "Karate Chop" Remix: Pulled Due to Emmett Till Reference

Getting ejected from the Heat game is the least of Lil Wayne’s problems this week. His remix of Future’s “Karate Chop,” which features Weezy making a degrading reference to Emmett Till, has been pulled by Epic Records. Many were up in arms over the lyrics about Till, an African-American teen from Chicago who was beaten and shot to death in the South in 1955. “We regret the unauthorized remix version of Future’s `Karate Chop,’ which leaked online and contained hurtful lyrics,” the label said in a statement. “Out of respect for the legacy of Emmett Till and his family and the support of the Rev, Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., we are going through great efforts to [take it down].” The Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation’s Facebook page (named after Emmett’s mother) declared that Epic CEO L.A. Reid had contacted the family to apologize: “Mr. Reid stated the song was leaked out and he had not heard the lyrics.” “He is a man of integrity that values our family’s legacy and wouldn’t allow such heinous usage of Emmett Till’s name or dishonor his memory.” “We have yet to hear from Lil Wayne’s camp and he is the one that said it! It was all I could do to hold back my tears while engaged in conversation.” “Thank you Mr. Reid for now I can exhale.” The “Karate Chop” remix can still be listened to (for now) online.
