Meet 21-year-old Valeria Lukyanova, a Ukrainian model who says she is the real-life Barbie . Valeria has sparked an online debate over how the Mattel toy may really be pushing youth to have a warped sense of reality about beauty and what a healthy female should look like. While Valeria claims on her blog that she’s the most famous woman on the Russian internet because of her doll-like appeal, the debate rages on about whether her image has been photoshopped or if she used plastic surgery to achieve her look, or even whether she’s a real woman at all: Hundreds of photos on her Facebook page show a wide-eyed, nearly fake-looking Lukyanova posing in a variety of scanty outfits. But with nearly 8,000 subscribers to her Facebook page, it’s unclear whether Lukyanova exists at all, or whether it’s all a hoax thanks to the world of photo editing. The model did not return requests for comment. If photoshop is not a factor in getting Lukyanova’s look, she likely underwent a barrage plastic surgery. Dr. Malcolm Roth, president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, said plastic surgery should never be used to transform oneself into a favorite celebrity or, in this case, a play toy. “We believe evaluating any and all issues that may affect our patients’ well-being, including psychological factors, is part of providing total patient care,” Roth said in a statement. “Additionally, Valeria is also only 21, so certain milestones in growth and physical maturity ought to be considered before plastic surgery is performed. ASPS cautions patients to keep in mind that plastic surgery is real surgery with real risks, just as with any operation, so the decision should not be taken lightly.” Whether Lukyanova is real or fake, photoshopped or plastic surgery, Diane Levin, professor of education at Wheelock College in Boston, said the mystery of her existence is not the issue. The problem is that her flaunted image epitomizes and exemplifies the issue of objectification of women in today’s society. “Barbie has always been controversial and really changed the discussion on how girls play,” said Levin, author of the book, “The Next Sexualized Childhood and How Parents Can Protect Their Kids.” ”When Barbie came around, play suddenly became about dressing up and looking right and it eventually played a role in how women wanted to look in real life.” While Lukyanova is an extreme example of societal expectations of perfect beauty, Levin said, “If society expects women to look like that, it is harder for almost any woman to totally resist it. “This just feeds into our media screen culture, where being involved with real things are becoming more and more removed for children,” Levin said. “Even if she’s totally photoshopped, the fact that her body is being changed to one that no one actually can attain epitomizes what is happening in our society.” Levin encouraged parents to have an open discussion with their children about sexualization and objectification in the media. “Rather than just writing it off as someone or something that is ridiculous, allow your child to share your thoughts and have an open discussion about healthy self-image and expectations for themselves and others,” she said. Jennifer Lopez Leaving American Idol, Sources Say

While Jennifer Lopez has publicly said she has yet to make a decision about her future, numerous sources say she’s all but officially leaving American Idol . Having just been ranked as Forbes’ most powerful celebrity in large part because Idol revitalized her career, J. Lo may be ready to take her talents elsewhere. “She’s just too busy ,” one source said, and with a tour with Enrique Iglesias kicking off this summer, with plans to go worldwide in the fall, there’s no doubting that. If nothing else, the next round of Idol auditions would begin while she’s overseas, and all that time away from her kids is said to be wearing on her too. “It is just like any working mom’s dilemma,” Lopez, who can also been seen in What to Expect When You’re Expecting , told E! News this week. “It’s tough. You put them first and then you have all these other things that you have to do, and you have to make sure that they’re OK. It’s a balancing act.” One that may cause her to ride off into the sunset … but not if Fox has its way. A network source said, “Fox does not want to let her go. Nick Stahl: Missing Actor’s Wife Fears Drug Use

Actor Nick Stahl’s family filed a missing-person report Monday, but there were ongoing issues that predated the Terminator 3 star’s disappearance. According to court papers, he was involved in a custody battle with wife Roseann, who reported Nick Stahl missing , over their 2-year-old daughter Marlo. She filed in February requesting that Nick not be allowed unsupervised visits with their daughter. She also requested both legal and physical custody. Nick and Roseann are still married, but estranged and living apart. Roseann, 30, also stated that in 2011 she estimated the Terminator Salvation actor’s income to be $500,000 while she listed her own income as $0. She said her total monthly expenses were $6,065. In March, she subsequently requested Nick pay $3,807 monthly in child support, and he agreed. It’s unclear if Nick Stahl’s drug problems played a role in his disappearance, but they were bad enough to worry Roseann at the time he vanished. He was granted only supervised visitation with their child, however, and was barred from consuming alcoholic beverages or narcotics within 24 hours. He was also ordered to provide a negative drug test result for marijuana, cocaine and alcohol within 24 hours prior to every scheduled visitation. “Thank you for the kind words,” Roseann tweeted, along with a plea for anyone with information about Nick’s whereabouts to contact the LAPD. Last week on The Real Housewives of Orange County , Slade asked Gretchen’s father for permission to propose, Alexis met with an acting coach and Vicki announced Briana’s marriage and then forced her daughter to have a sit-down with Brooks. What could happen to these crazy housewives next?!? Read on for the exclusive THG +/- recap to find out! ——————————————- First up, Alexis is planning a birthday party for her twins fourth birthday. A Puppy Princess party. Because she calls them princesses and they love puppies. PERF! And then she leaves the party stylist for 10 minutes so she can go get a spray tan instead of doing party prep. Minus 10 . One point for every minute you got sprayed, Alexis. This party will be proof that Alexis really can do it all. Apparently she’s trying to be “Mom Enough.” Slade is visiting a jeweler. He wants to buy Gretchen a ring and has invited Heather to go ring shopping with him. Maybe because Tamra and Vicki hate him and Alexis and Gretchen are on the outs. Weird. But I like Heather, so Plus 5 for inviting her for feedback. Slade says he likes to “reverse engineer” everything. Instead of looking at what he can afford, he wants to look at what Gretchen would like and then go backwards. Heather chatted Gretchen up for the information. The first ring he looks at? $250,000. The second? $37,000. And then he asks about imitation stones because it’s obvious that these are out of his price range. The way I understand it, the ring from a Cracker Jack box might be out of his price range. Heather’s solution? Buy her a band. Gretchen’s just looking for the words and the sentiment anyway. Plus 10 to Heather for not laughing in his face at that “imitation stone” line. Tamra’s meeting up with Terry to see about having her Simon tattoo surgically removed from her ring finger. She gets nervous and has to run to the bathroom and Terry and his nurse talk about how she’s a nervous pooper. Minus 5 . It’s not as bad as Alexis’ nose gross but it’s still bad. Eddie’s promised to get Tamra a ring if she gets the Simon tattoo removed. She didn’t tell him she was going to see Terry so he wouldn’t feel pressured. Tamra has to get up from the table to go back to the bathroom. She quips that Simon’s still being a pain in her ass. Finally, she’s prepped and she and Terry talk about how Tamra and Eddie will need to incorporate their kids into one family as he cuts a piece of skin off her finger. Wow. Plus 10 for not requesting a Valium. Vicki’s brother Billy is still in town and their chatting about Briana’s elopement with Ryan. Billy’s concerned that Briana and Ryan don’t know much about each other. Vicki seems perturbed that Briana would still like to have a wedding where Donn and Vicki can give her away. But that’s weird because one of Vicki’s issues with Briana and Ryan’s marriage is that there was not wedding where she could give her daughter away. Hmmm. Billy asks if Brooks would be at that wedding and Vicki says “yes. He’s my man.” Then talk turns to whether or not Donn is dating and after Billy says he’s sure Donn is, Vicki grills him for information. Minus 15 . It’s party day for Melania and Mackenna. Alexis sends Mackenna to get MAKEUP. And when she doesn’t look like she has makeup on, Alexis sends her back for MORE MAKEUP. She’s FOUR. Minus 50 . Alexis says when she was growing up birthday parties were a homemade cake with three or four best friends coming over and they were great parties. But she’s just dressed her daughters up like they’re auditioning for Toddlers and Tiaras and is throwing them a Puppy Princess Party? Minus another 20 . Gretchen and Heather meet up at Casa de Dubrow. Heather’s house is amazing. Truly. There’s a sitting area in the bathroom. The bathroom Heather doesn’t have to share with Terry. Heather says the secret to a great marriage is separate bathrooms. Plus 15 . Truth, Heather! Eventually, talk turns to Gretchen and Slade and their future. Gretchen confirms, again, that she’s nervous about Slade’s debt and doesn’t want to marry him while that’s hanging over his head. She doesn’t feel like right now is the best time to get married. Heather tells Gretchen that she doesn’t think Slade understands where Gretchen is in regards to marriage right now. Gretchen gets choked up when she says she can’t wrap her mind around not being with Slade. Heather advises Gretchen to talk to Slade and then pours champagne. Plus 10 . In addition to a house full of puppies and mini princesses, Alexis has also hired standard sized princesses for the party. Alexis talks about herself in the third person while telling the party guests about the pulmonary embolism that nearly took her life after her daughters were born. Let’s remember that the guests at this party are FOUR. They probably cannot even say the WORDS pulmonary embolism. Minus 25 . Jim wore a tuxedo to walk Princess Melania and Princess Mackenna down the stairs and then changed right back into shorts and a tee shirt while Alexis rocked a cocktail dress and a tiara. Then they all went on a carriage ride. Because after this party, they’re broke and turning back into pumpkins and little ash girls.

Georgia Officer Not Punished After Admitting He Kicked 9-Month Pregnant Woman In The Stomach These motherfckers need to be dealt with: A police officer from Dekalb County, Ga. with a history of violent conduct kicked a heavily pregnant woman in the stomach in a recent incident that the officer’s superiors described as within department policy. The incident occurred when officer Jerad Wheeler was called to the pregnant woman’s home to settle a dispute involving the woman’s brother and his partner. When her brother began arguing with the officer, nine month pregnant Raven Dozier said that Wheeler pulled out a taser and used it on him. When Miss Dozier started crying and asking the officer why he was resorting to such actions, Wheeler kicked her in the stomach, arrested her and charged her with obstruction of a police officer. Thankfully, the child was not affected and was born healthy via an emergency C-section two weeks after the incident. The charges against Dozier were dropped. “What kind of a human being kicks a pregnant woman?” said Dozier’s attorney Mark Bullman. “I mean, forget whether or not it is a police officer that is supposedly protecting people.” In his incident report Wheeler claimed that he could not tell that Dozier was pregnant and that he kicked her out of self defense because she was acting aggressively. Wheeler described the kick as “a front push kick to the abdomen, as he was taught to do at the academy Turn the page for the interview with the victim and more.

Octomom just heard about the New Jersey woman giving her a run for Mother of the Year, Patricia Krentcil, and boy oh boy, is she incredulous! Nadya Suleman admits that while she is always inclined to give parents the benefit of the doubt … the now-infamous Tanning Mom needs help . If not mental help, then some serious parenting classes. From one amazing parent to another … Octomom says she doesn’t feel Patricia Krentcil should lose her kid, even though she was recently arrested for taking her little girl tanning . She does feel, however, that Child Protective Services should step in to give Krentcil some tips on child-rearing. Hard to argue with that. It’s kind of like the pot calling the kettle bronze here. No, Octo hasn’t been arrested at any point, but she’s messing up 13 more kids than Patty. In any case, when a woman who’s been visited by CPS herself, filed for bankruptcy and started an adult film career ( Octomom’s porn video debut is slated for later this year) decides to call you out on your mothering skills … never a good sign.

Bye Bye Berry! Halle Heats Up Plans To Flee To France Following Paparazzi Run-In

Cuz there are no paps in France, riiiiiiight? Halle Berry is reportedly even more anxious to move Nahla to Paris after a nasty confrontation with the razzi earlier this week. According to RadarOnline reports : Halle Berry is “more committed than ever” to moving her four-year-old daughter to France, following a nasty altercation with an over zealous and aggressive paparazzo, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting. The pressure that has been building over recent months reached boiling point for the 45-year-old actress this week when she arrived to pick up Nahla from school and ended up in a heated verbal battle with an angry photographer. The Catwoman star was swarmed by photographers and asked them get off the school property or she would call the police, reveals an eyewitness, prompting one snapper to snarl, “f**k off… you make millions and I have a right to make money too.” Halle became inflamed by the confrontation and began arguing with the photographer telling him, “Why don’t you go do an honest job and stop harassing me and my daughter?” A school official and another parent got drawn into the drama, and the police soon arrived to inform all of the paparazzi to leave the grounds and helped the Oscar winner safely escort Nahla to her car. “The school has only ever seen this type of chaos since Halle arrived with Nahla,” revealed a fellow parent, adding that even though there are other celebrity children who attend the school, they’ve only witnessed this type of aggression from the paparazzi towards Halle. One of the mothers revealed that after the photographers were forced to leave by police, Halle broke down in tears and sobbed that this is no way for Nahla to live, saying she does everything in her power to protect the little girl. In the past, friends have stated that Nahla is terrified when she sees the paparazzi anywhere and Halle has asked them to stop taking her picture and leave her alone. “They scream out her name constantly and say awful things about Halle in front of her,” said a pal. Halle is now “more committed than ever” to get Nahla away from Los Angeles the pal says, and as RadarOnline.com previously reported, this is the primary reason Halle has given for wanting to move to France with fiancé Olivier Martinez, because the paparazzi laws there offer more protection. We can understand Halle’s concern for Nahla, she’s doing what every mother should by protecting her child. But do you think maybe Nahla is just picking up on her mom’s anxiety? Does it seem like Halle is baiting these guys? It just seems crazy to move your whole family to France to get away from the paparazzi when most of her jobs are in L.A. and realistically, it’s not like she’ll never see another cameraman in Paris. The 21-year-old lashed out at the commander-in-chief, who said Malia,13, and Sasha,10, helped influence his decision to support gay marriage. “While it’s great to listen to your kids’ ideas, there’s also a time when dads simply need to be dads,” the former Alaska governor’s daughter argued in a blog on Thursday. It was aptly titled “Hail to the Chiefs — Malia and Sasha Obama.” Palin — a single mom herself — then argued children are raised in homes where there is both a mother and a father. “In this case, it would’ve been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage. Or that — as great as her friends may be — we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. REVIEW: Eva Mendes Brings Warmth — and the Hotcha-Cha Factor — to Girl in Progress

Teenage Ansiedad (Cierra Ramirez) is lacking in role models. Her father’s unknown, her best friend (Raini Rodriguez) is faithful but a little dull, and her mother Grace (Eva Mendes) is a hotcha-cha mess who dates married dudes and behaves less like a mom than a deadbeat roommate. So when her English teacher (Patricia Arquette, vital in a too-brief role) introduces the concept of the coming-of-age narrative, hyper-precocious Ansiedad decides to use it as a kind of emancipation blueprint. Directed by Patricia Riggen ( Under the Same Moon ), Girl In Progress starts out breezy, making wacky archetypes of the overachieving latchkey kid and her appallingly irresponsible mom. Odd-jobbing Grace shrugs about finishing the cereal (and the milk) and forgets about her child’s existence whenever her current philandering squeeze (Matthew Modine) swings into view. Ansiedad resolves to apply her discipline to a teenaged trajectory so clichéd that it’s easily converted into a giant flow chart on her bedroom wall. I got a little ahead of the script (by Hiram Martinez) when Ansiedad has her light bulb moment in English class, thinking perhaps the daughter might use a set of literary conventions to finally midwife her mother into adulthood. Instead the narrative splits off into parallel parts, similar to the way Riggen divided Under the Same Moon between the story of a Mexican woman laboring as a Los Angeles housekeeper and that of her son’s journey from Mexico to find her. Ansiedad begins acting out her acting out, ticking off bullet points (ditch your old friends; infiltrate the cool circle; offer the alpha babe your virginity) like items on a grocery list. Were the conceit a little more genre- or source material-specific — if the picture followed some overarching inspiration the way Clueless played on Emma , say, or if it featured some of the alter-ego goofing of  Youth in Revolt or the self-conscious twistiness of The Cabin in the Woods — the plot’s terms would have been more firmly grounded and we might have been brought closer to Ansiedad’s logic. Ramirez’s bad girl schtick is occasionally amusing (“I’m out of control; catch you later,” she deadpans at one point) but the idea that she would consciously risk becoming her mother just to get away from her never feels convincing. Meanwhile, Grace’s apparently bottomless self-absorption is well played by Mendes, who has always infused her man-candy roles with warmth and a weary intelligence behind her eyes. Both are on display when Grace’s latest relationship implodes after she’s confronted with an indifference to her daughter that equals and maybe even surpasses her own. At this point Girl in Progress  attempts to go deep: The best friend acts out for real and Ansiedad heads for the bus station to earn her runaway badge. Riggen doesn’t find a tonal equilibrium at this new level, though, and everything goes wobbly as Mendes and Ramirez are forced into what feels like a false moment of repentance and reconciliation. Girl in Progress feels a little trapped by its own conceits: It plays with the idea that all rebellion is in some sense performed and makes a caricature out of the immature, attention-hungry mother, but it never liberates its characters from their molds. I wanted to believe that Grace suddenly straightens up and heads to school and Ansiedad finally gets the love and care she deserves, but was left with the feeling that their movie was still a few milestones short of full maturity.
