Drake Club Paradise Show Stopped By Police

Irvine, California, performance with J. Cole and 2 Chainz shut down early Tuesday night, police representative confirms to MTV News. By Rob Markman Drake Photo: Getty Images Drake ‘s Club Paradise closed a little early Tuesday night during his Irvine, California, stop after officials asked the Young Money standout to cut his set short. Drizzy complied, then took to Twitter to show his love to concertgoers: “Police made me cut the show short but I love you all for rocking with me Irvine,” Drake tweeted early Wednesday morning. Before the show, he urged ticketholders via Twitter to arrive early to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. With a jam-packed bill that included J. Cole, 2 Chainz, French Montana, Waka Flocka Flame and Meek Mill, Drizzy warned fans that they wouldn’t want to miss any of it. Apparently, Drake and his tourmates had too much planned, and Irvine police had to shut down the show early. A representative from the Irvine Police Department confirmed to MTV News that they had to wrap it up at approximately 11:45 p.m., forcing the MC to cut about three songs from his set. There were no incidents at the event, but because of the amphitheater’s close proximity to several residential areas, police asked Drake to end his show after he went past his scheduled stop time. The “Marvins Room” MC complied. This leg of Drake’s tour, in support of his latest album, Take Care , kicked off Monday and will run through June 17. “I tried to put together a tour that consisted of … everybody that you hear in your spare time,” Drake told MTV News on the set of 2 Chainz’s “No Lie” video in L.A. just before the tour. “These are the guys that are currently on the top of the game, so I tried to bring ’em all out [for] one night. And that’s why the tour’s called Club Paradise, because I want it to feel like you’re gonna hear every song that you wait to hear in the club.” The tour resumes Thursday night in Phoenix. Get there early. Related Artists Drake

Scarface Learned Child-Support Lesson The Hard Way

‘My advice to any father out there is that if you send anything, you send it through the courts,’ MC says on ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Scarface on “RapFix Live” Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV News Scarface had to learn a hard lesson when he sat in jail for 10 months from October 2010 to August 2011. The Houston rap legend, who was jailed for failure to pay child support after it was tallied that he owed more than $123,000 , cleared the air on Wednesday’s (May 9) episode of “RapFix Live.” The MC explained that his mistake wasn’t that he didn’t pay his just due — it was that he didn’t keep proper record of his payments. “In the system, when your kids get grown and you pay all this money direct and it’s time for the money to stop being issued out, they gonna want to appeal because there ain’t no more money coming in no more,” the “I Seen a Man Die” rapper explained to “RapFix” host Sway. “So they may go and say you ain’t pay nothing, so that how it go.” Face’s logic is that, if he wasn’t paying child support for all these years, why didn’t his child’s mother come after him earlier? “21 years? C’mon, man. You want to do it now, 21 years later?” he rhetorically questioned. “Why you ain’t do that 20 years ago, if it really was what it was?” Regardless of what happened in the past, the rapper, who is planning to drop a new solo album later this year, is ready to move on. “It was an experience that I like to touch on and not dwell on,” he said. “It was a learning experience, and my advice to any father out there is that if you send anything, you send it through the courts. That’s the best way to do, because at the end of the day, you not gonna get no credit for it.” Related Videos Travis Porter And Scarface Mix It Up On ‘RapFix Live’ Related Artists Scarface

REVIEW: Chloe Moretz and Blake Lively Almost Steal Away with Hick

At age 15, Chloë Grace Moretz is now right in the center of the child/adult Venn diagram. Pretty soon we’ll have to accept that she really is a young woman, but for now, it’s slightly discomfiting to see her in the jailbait short shorts and tiny halter tops she wears in Derick Martini’s Hick . Even in the old days, girlhood went by in a flash, and most contemporary parents will tell you that today those years of innocence — or at least perceived innocence — are even more compressed. Plus, some girls just move faster than others: Moretz’s character in Hick is an unhappy 13-year-old named Luli who doesn’t yet know how to use her sexual allure, though she’s vaguely aware that she’s got some. She can’t wait to grow up and get the hell away from her tiny, repressive Nebraska town and her heedless parents (played by Juliette Lewis and Anson Mount), and her urgency gives the movie whatever momentum it has. Which, unfortunately, isn’t much. Hick , which is based on Andrea Portes’ 2007 novel (she also wrote the screenplay), walks the jittery line between being exploitative and too sensitive, and while it’s probably a relief that it tips more toward the latter, the movie also seems a bit unclear in its motives. In an early scene, we see Luli testing out the revolver — it’s a Smith & Wesson .45, she’s quick to correct anyone who merely calls it a “gun” — her uncle has just given her for her 13th birthday. She stands in her bedroom, dressed in a T-shirt and multi-colored frilly panties, her hair gloriously tousled in a Bardot-like way; she tilts the barrel this way and that as she tests out lines from tough-guy movies. She’s adorable and, heaven help us, sexy, and at this point in the picture, Martini is very clear about sending that mixed message: The crossed signals are unsettling, but they’re also full of life. When Luli is betrayed — seemingly not for the first time – by her mother, she decides to leave her family’s ramshackle house for a better life somewhere else, and she chooses Las Vegas. She puts on some fuchsia plastic sandals and a pair of oversized sunglasses, slings a fringed bag over her shoulder and hits the road — she’s like a sweet, tadpole version of Jodie Foster’s Iris. Not much later, she hitches a ride with Eddie (Eddie Redmayne), a cowboy of few words, though the ones he uses suggest that he’s an untrustworthy hothead. After he tosses her out of his pickup for sassing him — did I mention Luli is a champion sassy-mouth? — she meets another wanderer, Glenda ( Blake Lively ), a tall drink of water in a twirly dress straight out of Picnic . (The movie is set, as suggested by source music that includes the Cars, in the early 1980s, though it has a somewhat stylized fairy-tale, any-era vibe.) Glenda ropes Luli into a robbery that goes wrong, though it’s clear that Luli’s conscience won’t allow her to head too far down a crooked path. And before long, she has bigger things to worry about, anyway: Through much of the movie — after that early guns-and-panties scene — most of the characters Luli encounters don’t seem to notice how alluring she is. Then, suddenly, they do notice, and Martini and Portes attempt to steer the movie into darker, more sinister territory. In broad terms, the tone switch makes sense, but Martini — who previously directed the 2009 feature Lymelife — doesn’t quite know how to signal it, or how to handle its seedier, grainier texture. You can’t blame him for working hard not to be too sordid and sleazy. And the picture, despite its potentially controversial subject matter, hasn’t been accompanied by the same nervous anticipation that heralded Deborah Kampmeier’s 2007 Hounddog , starring Dakota Fanning , a movie whose buzz was bigger than its actual bite. But Martini’s sensitivity toward his lead character puts his movie in a bind: We desperately do not want bad things to happen to Luli, but we can’t be indifferent to all of her charms, either. In the end, the story’s potential emotional complexity — the idea that we might want to protect a young character while also recognizing her waiting-in-the-wings sexuality — ends up in a bland gray area. That’s frustrating, because you get the sense the actors, particularly Lively and Moretz, could have taken this story anywhere. In her off-duty hours Lively is certainly an upscale-looking girl, making repeat appearances on the cover of Vogue . But in the movies, she never plays down to her characters. Here, as she did in The Town , she makes you believe in her character’s mixed-up soul, not just in a particular accent or in a way of standing that signals “person from the other side of the tracks.” She’s a promising actress who’s probably capable of much more than she’s yet been asked to deliver. And Moretz, standing in that slender oval center of the Venn diagram, plays Luli not as a victim-in-waiting but as an adult-in-waiting. She still has a degree of childlike innocence, and it’s touching. But the bold curiosity in her eyes is far more interesting than that innocence is. Moretz doesn’t have many years, or months, left to play characters like Luli. While she seems to be making the best of each moment, she also conveys the sense she’s ready to move on, and it’s probably time. Follow Stephanie Zacharek on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .

Dear Bossip: My Husband Acts Like A Jerk Toward Me & He’s Told Me To Get An Abortion

Dear Bossip , I truly and extremely enjoy your advice. You’re honest, sometimes brutally honest, but I love and respect that. I’ve been married to my husband for two years. He’s got 3 older kids with his ex. We have one toddler and another on the way. This is the first marriage for both of us. I always dreamed my first marriage would be my only marriage because of my Christian beliefs, but now not so much. To make a long story short, after we found out I was pregnant, he was happy, but then arguments came. In my 1 st trimester he told me to get an abortion during every argument, which was about 7 times. I said very, very ugly things as well (i.e. deadbeat, bum, bish, etc). Then I broke my own cardinal rule after he started putting his phone on vibrate at night and I went through it. I found what I knew would be there, and so I stopped having sex with him and moved out. My final straw is the ex recently got out of jail and we’ve had altercations, and in one argument he stated he’s going back to his real family (they were never married or engaged). She also texts/calls him begging for sex, and for them to get back together. He says he ignores her. I don’t believe him and I don’t feel ignoring certain actions are good enough. I’ve filed for divorce. In the midst of all of this are the apologies from him and the promises to do better, and that he will not maliciously hurt me again. But, as you can see he kept doing it. He says he loves me (eye roll), but I don’t see it. Everyone that I’ve tried to talk to about this says I’m the bad guy and I shouldn’t give up and abandon him. Marriage isn’t good overnight, etc, etc. I do not agree with any of these people and I just want an unbiased opinion and to make sure I’m not crazy. Oh yeah, he also has never helped me with any bills that are mine, and before I stopped letting him use my car he would run out all my gas and only put back $20 worth. I’m no saint, but I have done right by him and I respect my marriage vows. I don’t talk to other men or my exes who still try to keep in contact. My past doesn’t affect him, so why do I have to deal with his? His ex has done/is doing ratchet stuff and it’s too much to name. He says get over it and let’s start over. I forgive him, but I don’t feel like I’m supposed to pretend to forget words that can never be taken back. Please help. – Husband’s A Jerk, Now What Dear Ms. Husband’s A Jerk, Now What , So, you married a man who has 3 other kids from another woman, and, for obvious reasons, they have to remain in communication/contact with one another (I digress), but, she’s asking for more, ANNNNNNNNDDDDDD, you went through his phone and discovered lawd knows what (you didn’t say what you discovered), he’s said to you on numerous occasions that you should abort his child that you are currently carrying, ANNNNNNNDDDDDDDD in an argument he’s said to you that he’s going back to his real family. Hmmmmm, why didn’t you pack his bags and help him move? If he’s so miserable and unhappy with you, and thinks he’s better off with his ex, then let him go. If he wants you to abort your child, and I’m certain it’s because the other 3 he has with his baby momma are kicking his butt in child support, then let him know (this is where you hold up your hand) that he now has 5 kids he’s responsible for. So, take his narrow ass and get a second job, and step up to the plate and take care of his responsibilities. But, let’s reflect on your letter. The issues with your marriage are several things which include miscommunication, disloyalty, mistrust, money, and unresolved issues with his baby momma. And, those key elements make a marriage, and unfortunately I wouldn’t say that you have a marriage. You’re just two people living together, and going through the motions of relationship drama like every other couple. You’re acting like little ass kids with one another and both of you are stomping your feet and pouting trying to get your points across. Instead of communicating with one another, like grown adults do, he’s trying to belittle and demean you with his tactic of spewing hateful things, and you up the ante with your name-calling trying to belittle and demean him. Each of you is trying to outdo the other. And, at the end of the day, what is this proving? What have you two accomplished? Yeah, just as I figured, not a damn thing! This is what I want you to do: Sit down with him and ask him what is a marriage? Ask him to describe it, and what it looks like. And, I want you to do the same thing. Let him know what your idea or thoughts are about marriage, what it looks like, and your expectations. And, it’s imperative that you listen to one another because arguing and trying to prove a point doesn’t work between you two. So, listen and if his definitions, expectations, and outlook on marriage are not your definition, expectations, and outlook, then you will have your answer. But, I want to know why didn’t you two go through marriage counseling before getting married? This would have resolved all of those issues before you walked down the aisle, and I’m quite certain that you wouldn’t have made it down the aisle if your husband hadn’t resolved the issues with his baby momma, his exes that he remains in contact with, and his need to demean and belittle you. So, why are you putting up with it now? Why would allow yourself to be made to feel less than, and from the man who is supposed to make you his queen, his woman that he protects, uplifts, and celebrates? I don’t believe in being with someone who is going to talk negatively about me or to me. That is a no-no! If you feel the need to call me out of my name, talk to me like I’m some damn child, and demean or belittle me, then you can sit there and talk to your own damn fool self. I’m out! DUECES! So, get into some couples therapy and speak with a marriage counselor. The root cause of your marriage is some unresolved issues that neither of you are putting on the table, and one of them happens to be his baby momma. If you don’t want her in your marriage, or your husband communicating with her other than to talk about his kids, then you’ve got to let him handle that with her. You knew what you were getting before you got married. So, that issue should have been resolved from the beginning. Now, he’s got to take care of business and put things in check. You and her are not going to be on the same page, and she definitely is not going to respect you and your marriage. She made that obviously known. So, your husband has got to get his damn balls out of his stomach, and be a man and let her know what’s what! And, hopefully you two can work out the other issues of communication, loyalty, money, and trust through marriage counseling. Don’t be afraid to open up and speak your mind. But, do it lovingly, and with an open heart. Don’t give up so easily on the marriage, not until you’ve exhausted all the resources. Besides, you did state that your first marriage would be your only marriage. Then work it out! – Terrance Dean Hey Bossip Fam, what do you think? Share your opinions and thoughts below! John Edwards: In Love With Rielle Hunter?

John Edwards has never spoken publicly about his feelings for Rielle Hunter , but thanks to his federal corruption trial, plenty of other people are. His former speechwriter, Wendy Button, testified Tuesday. She said Edwards admitted he loved Hunter, though the relationship was “complicated.” Edwards spoke about Hunter when answering mock questions as he practiced what he would say when admitting he fathered Rielle’s love child. “Do you love Rielle?” Button testified she asked Edwards. With Button playing the role of a reporter, the two-time presidential hopeful said, “Yes, it’s complicated.” This was July 2009, according to Button. “Do you still see her?” Button also asked. “‘Yes, she’s the mother of my child,'” Button says John replied. “Is the affair still going on?” she asked. “You’re not entitled to all the details,” Edwards answered . Those questions are ones Edwards, 58, could be asked again if he takes the stand at his trial. The former U.S. Senator is charged with covering up the affair and love child with the help of illegal campaign contributions from wealthy donors. The packed courtroom was riveted as Button took the stand about her conversations with Edwards in July of 2009, when she offered to help him draft a statement admitting he fathered Hunter’s daughter, Frances Quinn, now 4. Last month, Edwards’ former aide Andrew Young said when the politician learned Hunter was pregnant, he reacted by saying “She’s a ‘ crazy slut .'” Young testified that Edwards said, “There’s a one-in-three chance [the child] was his.” John, who was married to the terminally ill Elizabeth Edwards at the time, vehemently denied, but later confirmed his paternity of the child. His adult daughter, Cate Edwards , was so upset by some of the revelations at his trial that she walked out in tears at one point last week.

Epitome Of A Bad Mother: Woman Caught On Camera Suffocating Her Baby While In Hospital

People are really crazy: A mother who claimed her newborn son repeatedly stopped breathing was caught on a hidden camera in hospital allegedly trying to suffocate her baby. Katie Lewis had rushed her five-month-old son to hospital telling doctors the child would stop breathing, turn blue and then regain consciousness. Staff at the Children’s Hospital in St Paul, Minnesota, arranged for the child to be placed under observation for 24 hours in a room fitted with a video and audio monitoring system. They also performed a series of tests but could find no evidence to support 24-year-old Lewis’s claims about her baby. Lewis was told her son was being released from hospital as doctors could find nothing wrong. Staff reportedly became suspicious when Lewis insisted there was still something wrong with her baby. As a nurse watched on a video monitor Lewis allegedly tried to smother her son. She picked up her son, pinched his nose and held her hand over his to cut off his airways, a report says. According to an arrest report the boy kicked frantically and after 45 seconds went limp and unresponsive in his mother’s arms. When medical staff rushed into the room, Lewis told them, ‘His heart rate went down and he turned blue.’ Police were called to the hospital and in an interview with detectives Lewis said she ‘wanted to do something’ so that medical staff would help her child. She also admitted she ‘snapped’ due to the stress and frustration of bringing up her children. Lewis allegedly admitted to stopping her son from breathing on several occasions from February 12th. She said she was familiar with CPR and knew how little pressure was needed to cut off her baby’s oxygen supply. The young mother was charged with child endangerment, domestic assault by strangulation and third-degree assault. Prosecutors praise the quick thinking hospital staff. We’re glad the baby is okay, hopefully they won’t give him back to his crazy azz mom. Via Dailymail

Perverts: These Sickos Were Popped For Chopping Down Little Boy Backs After Making Arrangements With The Adoptive Father Of The Victims!!!

What kind of sick ish is this??? An adoptive father who’s been accused of raping three boys in his care was indicted along with another man Friday on rape charges. The 39-year-old adoptive father from Troy was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury on three counts of rape of a child under 13 and four counts of complicity to commit rape of a child under 13. Patrick Rieder, 31, of Dayton, was indicted on four counts of rape of a child under 13. The adoptive father is accused of bringing the boy to Rieder’s home, where both men engaged in sexual conduct with the child, county prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. said. The men were introduced in a chat room and eventually agreed to meet, Heck said. The Associated Press is withholding the father’s name to protect the child’s identity. All the counts carry a possible penalty of 10 years to life. Both men also were indicted with sexually violent predator specifications that would make the sentences 25 years to life on each count if the men are convicted. Rieder’s attorney didn’t immediately return calls for comment Friday. Court records don’t list an attorney for the adoptive father, who is in Miami County jail awaiting trial on 31 counts of rape involving three boys in his care. The adoptive father was indicted in March in a Miami County on charges that he raped the three boys. A third man, 29-year-old Jason Zwick, of Beavercreek, was indicted in March in Miami County on three counts of rape. Prosecutors say he raped a boy in meetings arranged through the adoptive father. Both the adoptive father and Zwick have pleaded not guilty to the charges in Miami County. Zwick’s lawyer hasn’t returned messages for comment. Officials have said that the Troy man adopted three children, including a 9-year-old girl, and was in the process of adopting a fourth child. Authorities have said Zwick raped a boy at the adoptive father’s home in Troy. They say the adoptive father took the boy Rieder is accused of raping to Rieder’s Dayton home. All three men were arrested after an undercover investigation. This is just disgusting. Our prayers are with those poor children. The Ohio police are investigating the adoption agency that placed the kids in that sicko’s care. Source

I don’t want to hear any more about this.” Krentcil then goes on the offensive, calling out her critics who have labeled her a bad mom. “Any mother who makes an accusation about me is not a mother because I’m a great mother — I would never do that to my child,” Krentcil rants. “There’s somebody out there for my whole life that doesn’t like me because they are jealous, fat and they’re ugly.” Krentcil was charged with felony child endangerment yesterday after allegedly bringing her daughter into a tanning booth at City Tropic Tanning salon in Nutley, NJ.
