Oh, Kat Von D … Stop, honey. Just stop. As you may have heard, Kat made quite the controversy for herself last week when she announced on Instagram that when her baby is born, she will be raising him vegan and without vaccinations . Vaccinations are something that many people feel very strongly about, because, you know, people can die from completely preventable diseases without them. In her statement, Kat said that she knew her beliefs and actions would create a lot of “backlash and criticism,” and that her own father “flipped out” when he heard her plans. To feel real pain and anguish, she said, “try being an openly pregnant vegan on Instagram, having a natural, drug-free home birth in water with a midwife and doula, who has the intention of raising a vegan child, without vaccinations.” That’s the real struggle, guys. That right there. Even besides the anti-vaccine stance, her whole post was bizarre and self-pitying and just really, really off-putting, but throw in the bit about putting her baby at risk for disease, and it’s just a terrible situation. Makeup lovers everywhere are boycotting her brand and contacting Sephora to let them know the reasoning — it’s kind of become a movement now. This whole thing has caused such a big stir that Kat has to be aware of it, and it turns out she is, because she’s made a new rambling post on the topic. And, wouldn’t you know it, this one is awful, too! To start, Kat wrote that she and her husband, Rafael Reyes , “are NOT anti-vaxxers.” “We are not against vaccines,” she attempted to explain. “Just because we have hesitancies and valid concerns about injecting our baby with specific chemicals and toxins does not mean we are anti anything.” Hold up, Kat and her husband are both heavily, heavily tattooed, and their concern is with injecting chemicals and toxins into their baby? That’s how she built her whole career. And also everything is a chemical. “As a soon to be parent (and especially as a first-time-mom) I do feel it my responsibility to have questions, and to listen to my motherly instinct to question things, and do my research,” she continued. “What we have found is that sometimes it isn’t always so black and white. While we believe medications, including vaccines, are not all bad — we also can’t dismiss the fact that some may not be good for everyone.” She wrote that “There are plenty of studies that show some vaccinations can work wonders.” She’s right — the vaccinations that prevent horrible diseases like polio really can work wonders. But, she was quick to add, “There are also studies that show some people (including mothers, and babies) may be more susceptible to vaccine injuries more than others.” “It’s unfair for anyone to expect me (or any parent) to take the word of the pharmaceutical companies who have much to gain from an industry worth billions without question — and then have to dismiss any concerns of my own.” Kat said that her medical history isn’t anyone else’s business, and that it also isn’t anyone else’s business “why we would feel it important for us to explore all our options when it comes to vaccinating our child.” Considering that, she hopes that before anyone criticizes her choices, “you would try and understand that this is our first child together , and we are simply just trying our best.” In closing, she said that she wouldn’t be talking about the subject any further, and she also turned the comments off on her post. “I think you would too,” she insisted, “if you were constantly receiving death wishes onto your unborn child.” Wow. Obviously this is a lot to take in, but first and foremost, of course no one should be sending death wishes to Kat’s baby. (Though honestly, judging by some of the comments she’s received elsewhere, we wonder if she really is receiving “death wishes” or if it’s more that people are warning her about what could happen if she doesn’t vaccinate her baby.) It’s also interesting that she kicked things off by directly saying that she isn’t an anti-vaxxer before hitting all the main points that anti-vaxxers make. Talk about “chemicals and toxins,” vaccine injuries, profit for pharmaceutical companies … she’s definitely an anti-vaxxer, she just doesn’t want people to call her one so her business doesn’t suffer. If Kat would really do research about vaccines, she would see how important they are, and how any studies that show otherwise have been proven over and over again to be completely false. Basically, sorry, Kat. You’re still cancelled.

10-year-old Michael Thomas Jr.’s family is understandably concerned as their child was handcuffed and humiliated in front of a local shop last week. NBC Chicago reports that police say they’d received multiple calls reporting a “10-to 12-year-old with a gun” running loose in the area. They decided that Thomas fit the description, and claim that Michael ran briefly when they confronted him. In other reports, the boy claims that officers told him that he was a juvenile escapee with a gun on him, though he denied it. It’s unclear which reason the officers are sticking to as the reason they chose to handcuff the boy. As you can see in the above video, the little boy was so frightened by the incident that he was crying, shaking, and even urinated on himself out of fear. SMH. According to Radar Online, the VERY often-troubled ex-husband of Chelsa Houska was arrested in South Dakota and placed behind bars for a “new violation of a stalking protection order.” These were the words used by Officer Kastner of the Minnehaha County Jail, per the aforementioned celebrity gossip website. “He had two warrants, both served on him. His court date will be tomorrow, Tuesday, May 29,” Officer Kastner added of Lind, who no longer appears on Teen Mom 2. The rarely-law-abiding former MTV personality has far bigger things to worry about right now than camera time anyway, considering he was also arrested in January for drug possession . Shortly after this incident, Houska was awarded sole custody of Aubree , the eight-year old daughter she shares (shared?) with Lind. The Minnehaha inmate listing report says that Lind’s alleged charges include “violation of a stalking protection order,” “violation of protection or no contact order,” and “non-support of a minor child.” No bond was listed in this document, meaning Lind cannot be released from prison until a bail amount is set by the assigned judge. The guy could be in serious, serious trouble. Details are scarce regarding what, exactly, transpired in this case — but Lind was taken into custody at 3:37 a.m. on Memorial Day. Was his frequent ex-girlfriend Brooke Beaton the subject of Lind’s reported stalking? We can’t say for certain, but she filed a restraining order against Lind several years ago and he’s been accused of stalking her in the past. Due to his pending and numerous legal issues, Lind is not permitted to see Aubree at the moment outside of supervised visitation. Based on court documents obtained by Radar in January, Lind’s parents are still allowed scheduled visits with their granddaughter, but their son most be monitored at all times when in the presence of his child. We’re not sure of the status right now when it comes to Lind’s second daughter, a young girl named Paislee, who he procreated along with ex-girlfriend Taylor Halbut. While scrolling through my IG feed on Monday evening, I came across a beautiful Black family with photos so pristine I initially thought they had to be actors or models working on a project of some sort. It turns out Writer and Speaker of Words Ezekiel Azonwu took professional photos with his real life wife Kiyanna Azonwu —and those are their real life kids posing and serving with all that poise. If I had to guess, I’d say the theme was Black excellence, Black opulence, Black decadence…because damn it, they shut it TF down. Introducing their fifth child through these beautiful photos (swipe left), Mr. Azonwu also took the opportunity to share a message with his followers and it’s a word many of us could stand to apply to various areas of our lives. He wrote, “Yes it’s true! We are welcoming another child into this world soon! . To be honest, when my wife and I first discovered the news, we both fell into a depression like slump. WE WERE DONE! Four children was more than enough for us. Due to schedule one of us weren’t able to “seal the deal” on time, and weeks before the potential appointment, BOOM! I had to come to my senses after about a week. I reminded my wife there are things to mourn over, but a life is not one of them, so we ceased all negative talk surrounding this pregnancy and began to see how God had his hand on it all. Did you get a lot of well-deserved rest this weekend? Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood did not. It looks like Amber’s baby shower a few weeks ago was just in time. She’s revealed on Twitter that she is dilated. How long until she gives birth? In the wee hours of Sunday morning, Amber Portwood tweeted: “Another nocturnal night with my uncomfortable preggy belly but it’s all worth it!” We know that it’s tempting to laugh at a phrase like nocturnal night , but she just means that she can’t sleep. She’s super pregnant, you guys. This is when she shares the big news. “I’m 3 cm dilated and home waiting for labor!” Wow! That’s a huge deal! She then shares a rhetorical question with her followers. “Wonder if I’ll make it to my due date?” Amber is due on May 13, which is next Sunday and just so happens to be Mother’s Day. Amber herself was born on Mother’s Day in 1990. The reality star hopes to remain in the thoughts of her fans and followers. “Wish me luck loves! Goodnight.” She follows that with a “hugging face” emoji. Now, hold your horses and don’t cut that Congratulations Amber cake yet, folks. We know that “she’s dilated!” sounds exciting, but this is just one early sign of labor. As she says, she is waiting to actually go into labor. This is just an early labor sign, like a tremor before an earthquake. Or the water receding before a tsunami. Or hairs standing up on your arm before a lightning strike. (Childbirth is amazing but it’s also terrifying) Amber’s May 13 due date is looming, but she still might not make it to that day. Her due date is significant because, as Amber reminds fans, it is right before her birthday on the 14. Obviously, it’s neat when you share a birthday with someone. But for practical reasons, nobody wants to share a birthday with their parent. You’re supposed to get to pick where you go out for dinner on your birthday (bare minimum), and nobody wants to have to share that honor with someone else. And then there are the logistics of Amber hosting her child’s birthday party on the day of her own party. it’s no fun. Even one day of separation would make that easier. Better if it’s several days. Since this tweet, Amber has continued to be moderately active on social media. She threw a little shade over some recent Kailyn Lowry drama , she complimented a lot of photos of her fans as new mothers holding their babies, and she reminded people about multiple food recalls. (Seriously, if you think that there’s even a realistic chance that any food in your fridge might contain e. coli, please dump it. That deadly bacteria is no joke) Hopefully, she (or someone acting on her behalf) will tweet when her water breaks and at other stages of labor and delivery. In the mean time, her fans and followers and of course her family and loved ones continue to wait with anticipation for her to give birth to her child with Andrew Glennon.
